The zebra licked his lips slowly, feeling a tingle in his loins, ideas forming in his mind about how to further cow and subjugate his new \"acquisition\". After a moment's appreciation, Leven resumed his inspection of the temple, just before the youthful boi glanced curiously back over his shoulder.\n\nJaspian's face looked somewhat stricken... the conquest of the city of his ancestors clearly was expected against such an overwhelming force, but one can only prepare so much for the inevitable.\n\nAs the cool darkness of this monument of stone came over him, Leven's eyes adjusted slowly to the dark, until he was able to see the tall lines of hieroglyphs and murals in the stone.\n\n\"So this is your's people's holy place?\" the General spoke to the fennec in his broken attempt at the local dialect, but Jaspian understood.
