His psychic powers come from his over-exposure to Chaos Energy from living in the Special Stage, though it isn’t that powerful. He can lift rocks and other things, but not super heavy things, nor can be fling other regular sized Mobians around. He also has partial telepathy, being able to read other’s minds (as long as he’s the subject of what’s being talked about). \n\nHowever, that changes when he’s exposed to Chaos Energy outside of the Special Stage. When exposed to Chaos Energy (whether it be from a Chaos Emerald, a person who has been exposed to a large amount of Chaos Energy (examples being Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles), or a Special Ring) his psychic powers are ramped up by an INCREDIBLE amount. He can uproot trees without problem, pull check points out of the ground and fling them around like nothing. The same can be said for larger objects, such as boulders, large masses of steel and metal, and other living beings. The biggest downside to this though, is that Psych becomes quite…well, psychotic when exposed to Chaos Energy outside of the Special Stage. He becomes violent, hysterical, hostile, and not-aware of what he’s doing. In a fairly dark comparison, it’s like a very powerful and short-term variation of rabies, in a sense. However, unlike rabies, it’s not-spreadable so Psych can’t give this curse onto someone else. Different levels of Chaos Energy effect him this way too. Generally, exposure to Chaos Emeralds and Special Rings are what send him off the most; with more Chaos Emeralds increasing his power while making him more hysterical. Special Rings effect him as if he’s been exposed to two Chaos Emeralds at once, which will take him a longer time to recover from his hysterical-ness.
