Nobody knows exactly how did Shu to come back safe and sound on the planet, but one thing was certain. Everyone knew his name.

Since his "escape" from the Death Egg, nothing interesting happened. At most, Shu moved in the City on the advice of Sonic.

Shu bought himself a modest house not far from a market. Every morning he wakes up with the smell of fresh bread. The smell of pastry cream coming from the pastry shop it was a good incentive to get up in the morning.

"Phalanx formation!" Said Lupus. "Move! Move! Move!".

"Icarus" Said Shu. "You know what to do".

"But, Shu, you're sure?" Asked Icarus.

"If necessary, do it" Answered Shu.

Icarus ran away.

All the soldiers, including Shu, took a spear and a shield, forming a phalanx at the gates of the village.

When the dust settled on the ground, Shu saw a jackal with a silver metal mask and a strange magenta ruby on his chest.

Suddenly, hundreds of crimson cubes appeared out of nowhere and attacked the phalanx. Many wolves, including Shu, panicked.

"It's not real! It's not real!" Said Shu.

Slowly, Shu recognized the difference between fiction and reality. In the meantime, some wolves were trying to kill the mysterious jackal, but without success.

Shu ran towards the jackal to try to kill him with the spear, but the jackal was fast. Very fast.

The jackal broke the spear and Shu's left arm, and then pushed Shu away.

But the jackal grabbed Shu's right arm and said, "you're so pathetic".

Shu kept trying to stab the jackal.

"I broke your arm and leg" Said the jackal. "And yet you keep trying to kill me".

Suddenly, Shu bit the arm of the jackal that stopped his arm.

The jackal pushed Shu away and punched him in the face, Shu lost consciousness again.


"When I regained consciousness" Said Shu. "I was in a cell at the Eggman's facility at Mystic Jungle".

- Eggman has captured Silver, he's locked up in a facility at Mystic Jungle.

Shu went into the kitchen, he took a matchbox and burned the letter, and then Shu left his home and headed to Mystic Jungle.


- A few hours later, at Mystic Jungle -


On arrival, Shu observed the facility and studied the situation.

There weren't surveillance cameras, there was only a Egg Pawn guarding the entrance.

"Facility in plain sight" Said Shu. "Low-level surveillance, robot scarce as death".

"What's the catch?" Said Shu.

"It's far too easy" Said Shu. "Maybe, I could...".

"No, it's too risky" Said Shu.

"A old-style jailbreak?" Said Shu. "Old-style jailbreak".

The idea is to enter silently into the facility and to seek information on Silver.

Shu left the the air duct and looked around.

Shu walked silently along the corridor when suddenly...

"Well, well, well" Said Shu. "Facility's command center".

Shu opened the door slowly and saw three Egg Pawns.

"The trio of the wonders" Said Shu.

Shu attacked and destroyed one of the three Egg Pawns. The other two, alerted by the destruction of the Egg Pawn, attacked Shu.

The second Egg Pawn was destroyed before it could do something.

The third Egg Pawn instead it has wounded Shu.

After destroyed the third Egg Pawn Shu leans back against the wall.

"Damn!" Said Shu as he bled.

Suddenly the lights and the energy field turns off.

"What was that?" Asked Silver.

"Let's go, Silver" Answered Shu. "We don't have long before Eggman know that I'm here".

Shu and Silver took the stairs going up to the next floors.

There's a smell of smoke coming from upstairs.

"Silver, wait, wait, wait" Said Shu.

"What's wrong?" Asked Silver.

Shu took some paper towels and bathed it in a drinking fountain.

"Here" Said Shu. "Keep this between your nose and mouth".

"Why?" Asked Silver.

"Just do it" Answered Shu.

Silver listened to Shu and did as he suggested.

"Get ready to run, and don't stop" Said Shu.

Shu took some wet paper towels.

"Follow me!" Said Shu.

Shu and Silver go upstairs and opens the door, Silver saw the generator room go up in flames. Shu pointed to a door on the other side of the room, Shu took Silver's hand and started to run.

Suddenly, Shu pulled Silver toward him before he gets crushed by some metal beams that fell from the ceiling.

Shu looked around to find another way to reach the door.

*Metal creaking*.

*BOOM!*.

Shu started to run between the generators destroyed. In the end Shu and Silver reached the door and going up the stairs.

After a few floors Shu asked, "Silver, are you ok?".

"Yes" Answered Silver.

"Good" Said Shu. "Now, we're careful".

"I don't know what's behind this door" Said Shu.

Shu opened the door. Silver saw a lot of Egg Pawns trying to put out the fire. But when Shu opened the door they stopped and looked Shu and Silver.

"Run" Said Shu.

Silver started to run.

The Egg Pawns have completely ignored Silver but instead, they attacked Shu.


- A few minutes later, just outside of the Eggman's Facility at Mystic Jungle -


Silver hid in the jungle.

"I wonder if Shu's ok" Said Silver.

"What am I doing?" Asked Silver. "I should've helped Shu".

"You'd be dead in your condition" Answered Shu.

"Shu, are you ok?" Asked Silver.

"Yeah" Answered Shu. "I'm fine".

"We'd better get back to the City" Said Shu. "Before Eggman gets here".

"You're right" Said Silver.


- 15 minutes later -


"Silver, can we take a break?" Asked Shu.

"Shu, didn't you say...

"I know what I said" Said Shu. "Just five minutes".

"Fine" Said Silver.

Shu leans back against a tree, breathing heavily.

"Shu, are you ok?" Asked Silver.

"Yeah" Answered Shu. "I'm fine".

"But that... that's blood!" Said Silver. "Shu, you're bleeding!".

"I'm fine" Said Shu. "Don't worry".

"You need to go to a hospital!" Said Silver.

"I told you I'm fine" Said Shu.

"Well, well, well" Said Eggman. "What do we have here?".

"A wolf and a white hedgehog!" Said Eggman. "What a coincidence!".

"Eggman!" Said Silver.

"Here comes a talking potato sack" Said Shu.

"What did you say?!" Said Eggman.

"Eggman, don't you've cities to destroy?" Asked Shu.

"Sorry, Shu, not today!" Answered Eggman. "Today I'm here for you!".

"Very romantic, but no thanks" Said Shu.

"Mine wasn't an invitation" Said Eggman. "Mine was an order".

"Silver, run" Said Shu.

Shu and Silver started to run.

"Metal Sonic, catch him!" Said Eggman.

Metal Sonic appeared suddenly from behind foliage and ran after Shu and Silver.

For Shu, running through the jungle is hard in his condition, but he must think quickly, to get rid of Metal Sonic. Heavy breathing, blurry vision. Shu can't think of nothing, only to run.

Eggman's robots are everywhere. Robots, robots everywhere.

It's curious how they were placed, it's like they're forming a very specific path. At some point, Shu thought, "it's a trap".

A few seconds later, Shu and Silver found themselves on the edge of a precipice.

Shu looked down, there's a river, but it's too high to jump.

"So what?" Asked Eggman.

"Can I say goodbye to Silver?" Answered Shu.

"All right" Said Eggman.

Shu approached Silver.

"Don't worry" Said Silver. "We'll come rescue you".

"I know you will, Silver" Said Shu. "But first I need you to do something for me".

"Anything" Said Silver.

"Take a deep breath" Said Shu.

"What?" Said Silver.

Shu grabbed Silver and threw himself down the cliff.

"No no no!" Said Eggman. "Metal Sonic, stop them!".

Metal Sonic didn't hesitate a second and took off like a lightning.

Meanwhile, while Shu and Silver fall from the cliff, Silver screaming something like, "oh cr*p cr*p cr*p cr*p cr*p cr*p!!!".

*Splash!*.

Water slowed down the fall, but not enough.

Shu bumped his head on a stone at the bottom of the river and lost consciousness.

"Well, we'll never know if we stay sit on our tail" Said Shu trying to get up.

Just then, Metal Sonic found Shu and Silver and attacked them. Metal Sonic gave Shu a punch to the stomach, Silver instead a punch to the right flank.

Metal Sonic pushed Silver away and grabbed Shu's chest.

Silver was still weak to use his psychic powers, but he must do something to save Shu. Silver grabbed a branch and tried to hit Metal Sonic. But Metal Sonic was fast, he grabbed the branch and broke it.

Metal Sonic let Shu go and it faced Silver.

"If we continue like this, Silver's going to get himself killed" Said Shu. "I've no choice".

Metal Sonic was about to kill Silver. When suddenly...

"Ehi!" Said Shu.

*Klang!* Metal Sonic got hit in the head by a rock.

"Old wreck!" Said Shu.

Metal Sonic turned and looked Shu.

Shu was unable to face Metal Sonic, he was weak and hurt. But he did what he did to protect Silver.

"Come on!" Said Shu.

"Shu, no!" Said Silver. "Don't do it!".

Shu hid in the forest and Metal Sonic ran after him.


- 2 hours later -


"Shu! Where are you?!" Said Silver. "Shu!".

"Shu!" Said Silver.

*Cough*.

That "cough" catch Silver's attention.

Silver found Shu leaning on a tree with one of Metal Sonic's arm in his hands. Shu was hurt, but alive.

"Shu! Are you ok?!" Asked Silver. "What's happened?!".

"Nothing" Answered Shu. "Nothing happened".

"You need medical attention, Shu!" Said Silver. "I need to get you to a medical facility!".

Suddenly somebody said, "leave him alone!".

Silver saw a white hawk that was about to hit him with a branch. But Silver avoided the hit and pushed the hawk away.

*Cough* "Silver...

"Don't worry, Shu" Said Silver. "I'll protect you!".

"Get away from him or I'll kick you!" Said the hawk.

"Come on! Try it!" Said Silver.

Silver was still weak to use his psychic powers, but Silver would protect Shu at all costs.

"That's enough, you two!!" *Cough* Yelled Shu.

"You two? Do you know this hawk?" Asked Silver.

*Cough* "Of course I know him" Said Shu. "His name is Icarus, and he's my brother".

"Your brother?" Said Silver.

"My foster brother, to be precise" *cough cough* Said Shu. "But we grew up together, like brothers".

(Icarus is a white hawk, with blue eyes and a blue foulard).

"You can trust him, Icarus" Said Shu.

Icarus approached suspicious of Silver.

"Shu need medical attention" Said Silver. "We need to get him to a medical facility".

Icarus helped Silver take Shu to the hospital.

"How's Shu?" Asked Silver.
