constant strain that Contract Hunting puts on his body. Ion started feeling small sharps pains in his belly one morning that continued to get worse during the day. That evening he checked himself into the Hunter's Hospital where Meeka sent him for CT scans, which proved her diagnosis of Ion's intestines becoming loose and getting tangled up again. Ion has been through this a few times before, even having to have emergency surgery once to prevent a large portion of his intestines from dying. This time though, Meeka saw Ion wasn't in immediate danger, scheduled his surgery early the next morning since she worked all day and needed to rest (although if Ion needed emergency surgery, she would had performed it regardless). Meeka is the older cousin of Ion and sees him more as a little brother while Ion also does see Meeka as a big sister due to the amount of time they spent together as kids. This is why she give Ion a little bit priority for procedures, fitting him as early as she can to keep him in tip top shape for his work. Ion was admitted to the hospital for the night and given a dose of painkillers for the sharp pains that were getting crippling at this point. Early the next morning, Ion was wheeled into the operating room, where a fully rested Meeka was waiting. Ion was fully undressed and placed on the operating table, where assistants hooked up electrodes to Ion's chest to monitor his heartbeat and a ventilator was placed on Ion face to help him breathe when he would be put under. A small complication for Ion is that he suffers from irregular heartbeat due to some damage he received to his heart when he was seriously injured years ago, but he does have a device attached to his heart that uses his heartbeat to power his mechanical arm and it also doubles as a pacemaker to help keep his heart on track. The ECG monitor was making rapped beeps, showing Ion's heart rate as elevated, as Meeka told him gently to relax and Ion who was a bit nervous, even though he has been through this a few times before, was able to knowing that Meeka was the one in charge of the procedure. The beeping started to slow down as Ion's heart rate started to relax, while he was taking deep breaths from the mask, waiting on the cold table as nurses continued to prep him for the surgery. After a few minutes, Meeka was ready to begin and started an anesthetic IV drip for Ion. His eyes started getting heavy as his muscles relaxed and before long, Ion was fast asleep in a pain free environment. Once Meeka was sure Ion was fully asleep, she took a scalpel and made an incision down the centre of Ion's belly. After cutting through multiple layers of skin and muscle, she was able to fully open up Ion's abdomen to begin her work. During the next several hours, Meeka was able to unravel and repair his loose intestines, stitching them back in place with thicker sutures to hopefully prolong the amount of time needed before she need to do this again. Meeka would also remove any sections of Ion's intestines that were too damaged from strangulation, which luckily were not that many. When Meeka was finished, she thoroughly inspected her work, making sure everything was all right and that she didn't miss anything. She then stitched him up, cleaning as much blood from his fur as possible and sent him to the recovery room. Ion's surgery was a success, waking up a few minutes after being place in the recovery room, greeted by his friends and companions. Latter in the evening he was transferred to a private hospital room where he would continue his recovery over the next few days. When Meeka was in high school, she was able to sit in on a surgery through a co-op where the lead surgeon was impressed with her knowledge, encouraging her to pursue her dream and helping her along the way. She really enjoys her work as she has a caring side and love to fix people up so that they can enjoy the most out of their lives. She feels at home in the operating room, loving everything from the smells and sounds of what is going on around her as performing surgery is very calming for her, even when it is a life or death situation. Meeka has ineradicable eyesight and hand dexterity that the world slows down when she is working, which helps her when dealing with serious injuries as she is calm and collected with nerves of steel at any situation she is presented with. Being a surgeon for hunters, she is accustom to major injuries and in her skilled hands, patients have a very low morality rates. Meeka is so skilled that in fact when she is not doing emergency surgeries, most Hunters request her to perform the other surgeries they may need with their everyday lives. One of Meeka's worst days working at the hospital, was when Ion was brought in by Zephyr, seriously injured with a large abdominal gash, major cuts, his left arm missing and him being on the brink of death. She rushed him into surgery where she was able to patch him up, even after his heart stopping mid operation, was able to get it restarted and bring him back to life. Ion even admits that if it was any other surgeon working on him after his injury, he would most likely be dead. She had to remove a lot of Ion's intestines due to the damage which causes him to have to undergo surgery every year to few years to repair intestines that come loose due to the strain he places on his body, continuing to do his Contract Hunter work.
