"writing": "Content Warning: This work contains Suicidal Ideation. \n\n “A new Drug?” Ferro asked, fidgeting nervously on Cyan’s bed.\n\n “Yeah, I got it while you were out last night,” Cyan smiles his devilish grin. “They're called ‘Espershrooms’, apparently it’s a really strong hallucinogen...”\n\n “Oh…” Ferro took their shroom and looked at it for a moment. “I guess I don't really have much to lose...” They smiled meekly at Cyan. Who kissed them on the lips before picking up his shroom.\n\n “Eat up then, Ferro!” Cyan chomped down on his and swallowed. Not wanting to be left behind, Ferro quickly followed suit. The mushroom was small, dry, and didn’t particularly taste like much. Like bland earth they swallowed without much effort. They didn’t even seem to feel any different right now. If they focused hard on their perception, they could possibly feel a line drawn together between them and Cyan. Like they could sense him their even if their eyes were closed, a real subtle effect.\n\n Ferro chuckled, “Man Cyan, these shrooms aren’t shit.” Ferro turned to smile at him, but found the bed empty. They were alone. Perhaps Cyan had gotten up and left while they were contemplating the drug's effects.\n\n Ferro got up and went to head out of the room, when something caught their attention. The screen door slightly ajar. They walked to the door and peaked their head into the outside world. No sign of Cyan out on the balcony, so instead they let their gaze wander further out, to the soft white sand and small lapping waves of the lake.\n\n When a lake had waves, it was a sign that it was truly massive. Truly all encompassing and suffocating. So large you can look out to the water's horizon and see just a dark spot under the surface of the water. A dark spot getting bigger. Moving closer, deadset on Ferro. So far in the infinite tide between them. Yet it was set to find them at some point…\n\n They had to find Cyan. Find him and get out of here…\n\n Ferro turned tail and ran out of the bedroom. Down the stairs into the stark emptiness of the living room. They spin their head around desperately, searching. Outside the window the shape loomed larger, a spout of ethereal mist as the mass crested the surface. It wouldn’t be long till he reached here. They had to find him and get out. “Where are you Cyan?”\n\n*****\n \n Cyan knew exactly where he was. The all encompassing sealed walls of his childhood estate. Truly empty, cold, and stretching so interminably far, mist forming at the end of hallways. He sat on the floor weeping softly, he’d always know he’d end up here again. His escapes were always temporary, and this time wasn’t much different.\n\n He wiped his tears down to the prim patterned carpet. He really hoped it’d be this time, this time he had Ferro. Ferro… Just then, Cyan spots something out in the mist in the distance. A small furry creature next to the ground, just a simple animal. A rabbit. \n\n It was soot coloured, with red eyes. Reminds him of Ferro. Before he could even process what was going on, his body had gotten up and began the chase. The rabbit bolting off down a hallway.\n\n Footpads pattered against the cool carpeted hallway, in pursuit. He knew what he and Ferro had wasn’t the same as a good relationship. It wasn’t even sustainable. They didn’t care about each other in the way where they could live happily ever after. But he knew with them, they might be able to do something they were always too scared to go through with. Something that meant they never had to come back here again…\n\n*****\n\n He wasn’t here. Ferro had looked all over the house. Perhaps Cyan left like everyone else did. They couldn’t even hold on to this, of all things. Not even a relationship, just… A promise to destroy themselves together. Something so simple, and so transactional they thought they couldn’t possibly screw it up. They looked outside. The darkness was nearly here. They decided they would just stare until it arrived.\n\n Ferro was like poison. They hurt anyone who got close enough. Perhaps that was what they’d do. Standing still, they watched the creature burst out of the water and break through the shore. A giant Black-Whale heading closer. Ferro watched as it tore through concrete and smashed the balcony to bits, until finally swallowing them whole.\n\n*****\n\n Cyan chased the rabbit out to the courtyard. And down into a clearing filled with erected stones. Most of the headstones were smaller, but the rabbit jumped onto a large gravestone. A voice booms from behind Cyan, one that sends a shiver down his spine.\n\n “You’ve killed everyone you’ve ever cared about, Cyanide.” His Father spoke behind them. “Pets like that rabbit die from your incompetence. Your mother died from your birth. People tell you it’s not your fault. But you know better...” His father walks past Cyan to lay flowers and the foot of the grave. “You are poison, Cyanide. It’s what you do naturally. Perhaps it’s why you were so excited when you found someone so willing and ready to die.” \n\n “That isn’t true…” Cyan chokes out between tears, “Ferro’s important to me, I mean. I care for them… I think I might even love-”\n\n The rabbit hops off the gravestone, running off into the distance. “Love isn’t going to change what you’ll do to them. What you’ve already been doing to them. But if you don’t care, run after them. And do what you do best, Cyanide.”\n\n Cyan hesitated for a moment. But they couldn’t just let them get away. They took off running, the pursuit beginning again.\n\n*****\n\n Ferro braced themselves into a ball as they slid down the whale's esophagus. Finally breaking form when they landed against the soft carpeted floor of its stomach. Brushing the slime off of their limbs as they headed to the stomach's door.\n\n It opened to reveal the same sight they saw over and over again in their dreams. The plush room with the game table. And the dominoes counting down the days. All Ferro could do was scream. “Why do you keep showing me this!” They stormed over to the table, planting their hands so firmly that the dominoes shook before stabilizing.\n\n “I don’t care if I don’t have much time left, I’m the closest I've ever been to happy! I don't want everything to come crashing down again. I just want it to be over, I want to quit while I’m ahead!” And with that Ferro sweeped their arms across the table, sending all the dominoes flying in the air.\n\n*****\n\n The chase was finally over. Cyan had the rabbit cornered against the edge of a massive cliff overlooking the sea. Cyan approached slowly now, “There there, it’s just me. I’m here, please come back with me..” The rabbit stared blankly at Cyan before doing something that made his heart drop to the floor. Slowly the rabbit turned away from him. And hopped off the cliff.\n\n “No.” Cyan muttered. He wasn’t going to let this one go, not this time. So off the edge he dove as well.\n\n The rabbit fell limply, almost indifferent to how they plummeted. Cyan streamlined his body, stretching his body to get close. Reaching his arm towards them, towards Ferro…\n\n*****\n\n The room dissolved away as response to Ferro’s tantrum, and the whale with it. They were alone, deep in the sea. Their first reaction was to scream. Muffled rush of bubbles, almost soundless in that endless void. The crushing weight of the sea’s depth pressed down, the water filling the void of their lungs with searing pain of salted burns, soon to be replaced with numbing darkness.\n\n Was this what they asked for? Was this what they wanted? They looked up at the blurry light of the surface so far away. Fading as they did.\n\n And then something drifted in front of their view. A paw reaching out for them. It took the last of their strength to reach out to it, to stop themselves from drifting away further. They didn’t want to push this one away, not this time. They made contact, grasping so desperately so they might be pulled out. The touch was warm. They hadn’t realized how cold they had gotten.\n\n And then, just like that…\n\n*****\n\n They were together again. In Cyan’s bed, shivering and holding each other desperately. The sheets were drenched with their collective sweat which matted their fur in messy unkept clumps. Salted tear streaks lay upon both of their cheeks.\n\n Ferro just lay there shivering for a while. They stared at Cyan, and found a strange comfort in it. Soon he opened his eyes too, and stared back. Ferro felt their ingrained reaction to look away, but instead got lost in Cyan’s eyes. A deep set sort of peace. Ferro knew what they wanted to say, they understood how they felt. But this moment. This stillness as the storm parted. It was something to be treasured.\n\n So the two of them just lay there, being with one another till sleep finally took them.",

And hopped off the cliff.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;No.&rdquo; Cyan muttered. He wasn&rsquo;t going to let this one go, not this time. So off the edge he dove as well.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;The rabbit fell limply, almost indifferent to how they plummeted. Cyan streamlined his body, stretching his body to get close. Reaching his arm towards them, towards Ferro&hellip;<br /><br />*****<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;The room dissolved away as response to Ferro&rsquo;s tantrum, and the whale with it. They were alone, deep in the sea. Their first reaction was to scream. Muffled rush of bubbles, almost soundless in that endless void. The crushing weight of the sea&rsquo;s depth pressed down, the water filling the void of their lungs with searing pain of salted burns, soon to be replaced with numbing darkness.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;Was this what they asked for? Was this what they wanted? They looked up at the blurry light of the surface so far away. Fading as they did.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;And then something drifted in front of their view. A paw reaching out for them. It took the last of their strength to reach out to it, to stop themselves from drifting away further. They didn&rsquo;t want to push this one away, not this time. They made contact, grasping so desperately so they might be pulled out. The touch was warm. They hadn&rsquo;t realized how cold they had gotten.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;And then, just like that&hellip;<br /><br />*****<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;They were together again. In Cyan&rsquo;s bed, shivering and holding each other desperately. The sheets were drenched with their collective sweat which matted their fur in messy unkept clumps. Salted tear streaks lay upon both of their cheeks.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;Ferro just lay there shivering for a while. They stared at Cyan, and found a strange comfort in it. Soon he opened his eyes too, and stared back. Ferro felt their ingrained reaction to look away, but instead got lost in Cyan&rsquo;s eyes. A deep set sort of peace. Ferro knew what they wanted to say, they understood how they felt. But this moment. This stillness as the storm parted. It was something to be treasured.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;So the two of them just lay there, being with one another till sleep finally took them.</span>",
