After so many years a lot of plants had become extinct, however through a form of alchemy they created a chemical which housed a great number of plant DNA similar to the \"Wehr\" virus but instead it had the ability to propagate and change its code when incubated. Ashton was the test subject for this new substance, and utilizing the \"Point of Creation\" (the moment when a fetus obtains life) Ashton was not only fused with the chemical but became the host of what would become The Tree of Life. He along with the others was caught in an accident which freed all of them from the facility housing them.\n\nAshton instead of being wounded was protected by the earth itself and absorbed into the soil where he eventually became a proxy for the voice of the planet..or what we believe is the planets consciousness. He has never actually shown himself to anyone and it's highly thought that he no longer is an actual \"person\" but he became a state of being which can act independently from nature. He has the ability to control nature in all its forms, and should he desire he is quite capable of tearing the earth apart with a single thought. However Ashton is very passive, and rarely speaks only communicating through thought, due to not actually maturing as a normal child he developed ten multiple personalities (although this is a minor detail that's not important) often referring to himself in the third person.\n\nAshton has no loyalty to anyone, but is merely an observer and records the history of the world (I think of him as the narrator for my story).
