Like a homeless man, who found the winning lottery ticket. Like a stray puppy, adopted into a home. Like a college dropout, with an unbelievable scholarship. I too have seen heaven, from the view in hell. Going from the scum of the earth, to nothing but happiness. Something about it seems unreal. What’s the catch? Why would this happen? Who brought me to this paradise? It’s too good to be true, yet… Here it is. Everything is crisp, like freshly baked bread. Happiness is rich, like a creamy chocolate bar. The light, it’s blinding. Sketchy. Things get sketchy. Though we blind ourselves with more light, Trying to unsee what we’ve seen. The homeless man gets arrested for stealing the ticket. The puppy is only dinner, for the psychotic family. The dropout is in more debt than ever before. And for me? I’ve continued to blind myself, by my own free will.
