If/when it's complete, I'll be able to post that art here.\n\nNow, before any of you send me notes in an attempt to sell art to me: DON'T!\n\nIf I don't come to you myself, you can presume I'm not interested.\nAdditionally, selling art to me is more trouble than it's worth as I accept only traditional art AND I insist on having the actual drawing/painting in my actual, physical possession (there've been VERY few exceptions).\nThat alone should deter 85% of you ...I'm also cheaper than dirt (a fact that helps no one and that should also keep the remaining 15% at bay).\n\nJust be assured that I am on IB still.\n\nI have been asked why I'm not leaving hearts on watcher profiles anymore.\n\nThe simple answer is I don't want to 'reward' people for faving my art. So, it's not just you, I'm not giving hearts to anyone (I may use a heart to respond to a comment, but not for faves/watches).\n\nAnd, yes I'm actually still drawing. However, this one is different.\n\nIt's hard to explain as I don't understand what this person (the thief) is doing.\n\nIn their case, they don't seem to care about my art, but rather they seem only to want my attention, but not in any interactive way (either in the positive or the negative).\n\nHere's the story...\n\nWithout naming any names (because I don't want my watchers to harass or bother anyone), someone I'll call 'Thief' uploaded 'Timmy and Vacak V2' (a drawing I made in 2019) to their DeviantArt gallery. This was done on Christmas Day, 2023.\n\nThough Thief gave me credit for the art, they neglected to tag me. Consequently, I was unaware of the upload.\nOn January 9th, 2024, some non-watcher with a Core account commented on Thief's upload with my name tagged (so I'd be notified).\n\nWhat followed is very strange, somewhat funny (I guess?) and a bit over dramatic ...so of course I have screenshots (these are they): https://sta.sh/01ub1ih0h4gj\n\nTOP LEFT: This shows what I saw when I looked at Thief's gallery. Most of their uploads are of Disney characters, esp. characters from 'Lady and the Tramp 2'.\nAs you may guess, all this art was stolen from various artists---none of it was made by or for Thief.\n\nNow, looking at this screenshot, one can see how my horrific artwork stands out among the posts. This is what gave me the impression the thief was singling me out.\nThere was the possibility Thief mistook Vacak for Angel (from the Tramp movie), but Vacak's name is in the title (Thief put it there) and that still wouldn't account for why Thief would want MY drawing specifically, given Thief's supposed high standards for art quality (there are CERTAINLY better 'Angel' drawings to choose from).\n\nStrongly believing this person was trying to get my attention/make fun of me in some way, I decided to monkey-paw their (supposed) desire by issuing a DMCA takedown of their upload (for those who don't know, a DMCA is a legal document---it's a serious thing that can be investigated by law enforcement; it's not a joke).\n\nThese things, of course, take time.\n\nIn the mean, I decided to report the image to DA. Having already fled a DMCA claim, I decided to have the art flagged as sexually inappropriate (even though there's nothing explicit about my drawing). In my report, I included a note about the DMCA and that I did not consent to my art being in this person's gallery.\n\nBOTTOM CENTER: Nothing happened. Wash, rinse, repeat, I reported the upload two or three more times to no effect. Well, actually, there was one result: DA decided to let me know they'd received my reports by removing my ability to report it as sexually explicit.\n\nNow, during this time, the thief was aware of my reports, in part because I had asked them directly to remove the art.\nThief's response was to begin watching me as well to fave the original, but they would never reply to me with any words (I'd sent them a note on January 10th; it remains unopened as of writing).\nMore interesting is every time I'd upload a new post, Thief would unfave the original drawing and fave it again, presumably so I'd receive a notification and not forget they still had my art.\n\nI even contacted DA directly about this.
