I let several favorite watchers preview it ...I was told it was descent---another loved it; another had nothing to say and another read a quarter of it, asked if this were a 'trade' story, and skipped to the end after receiving an affirmative. :p\n\nAnyway, it's time to share with the world now (or, at least, with the 40 watchers who'll actually look, and of those, of the 9 or so who'll actually read it) XD\n\nOur tale begins in Timmy's enchanted forest, with Timmy and his pika friends Ribbon and Ball.\n\n...And, yes, the pikas can talk now (it's an experiment).\n\nRIBBON (to Timmy): \"Is that a map? It's so pretty!\"\n\nBALL (grabby): \"Gimme that!\"\n\nBALL (pointing to the X on the map): \"It leads to pirate treasure; X marks the spot, see!?\"\n\nRIBBON: \"Ooo! What kind of treasure?\"\n\nBALL (aquiver with anticipation): \"A chest full of yummy, crunchy pirate bones!\"\n\nRIBBON (raised eyebrow): \"Bones? Are you sure?\"\n\nBALL: \"Pirates are all about bones---haven't you ever seen a pirate's flag?\"\n\nRIBBON (rubbing her head against Timmy's leg): \"Whatever it is, you make the best adventures for us\"\n\nBALL (to Timmy): \"Let's get going, already! Make us a portal to the beach!\"\n\n[Timmy pulls his magical halo down over his head (Timmy disappears into the halo as it drops over him)]\n\n[The Halo rests by itself on the ground, the inside the halo is a wormhole; the pikas jump into it (the halo will transport everyone to the shore)]\n\n[The three are on a sandy beach, seemingly alone]\n\nBALL (pointing): \"According to the map, the treasure is buried on that island\"\n\nBALL (to Timmy): \"Will you magic us to the island?\"\n\n[Timmy shakes his halo and shrugs (there's no magic for now)]\n\nBALL: \"We'll have to swim for it!\"\n\nRIBBON: \"We can't\"\n\nRIBBON (matter-of-factly): \"We aren't wearing swimsuits. Everyone knows you can't swim without a swimsuit\"\n\nBALL: \"Then we must find a boat\"\n\n[Ribbon jumps on top of Ball's head]\n\nBALL: \"What is it you're doing!?\"\n\nRIBBON (perched on Ball's head, scanning the beach with a paw above her eyes): \"Looking for a boat; I can see better from up here!\"\n\nRIBBON (pointing): \"Ah! There's something over there!\"\n\n[Timmy and the pikas have discovered a bottle on the beach]\n\nBALL (examining the bottle): \"There's a ship in the bottle!\"\n\nRIBBON (looking at the ship): \"It's made of tree! If we give it water, sunshine and lots of love, it'll grow big and strong enough to float us to the island!\"\n\nBALL (pointing a claw at the 'cork'): \"Right! I'll just pull this cork out and---\"\n\nCRAB: \"Eeeeeeee!\"\n\n[A hermit crab appears from the mouth of the bottle\"\n\nCRAB: \"I'm not a cork! I'm a crab, and this bottle belongs to me!\"\n\nBALL (peeved): \"You can keep your old bottle, we only need the ship!\"\n\nCRAB: \"The only way to get the ship out is to break the bottle, but the bottle is my home---there are no shells on this beach to move into\"\n\n[Long shot of the four looking out at the barren beach]\n\nRIBBON: \"We're sorry, little crab. Maybe we can find you something else to live in, to trade for your bottle?\"\n\nCRAB: \"Hm ...Ok, but it'll have to be a good something!\"\n\nBALL (to Ribbon): \"And what, exactly, would make a good home for a crab?\"\n\nRIBBON (grinning sheepishly): \"I was hoping you'd know!\"\n\n[The pikas lead the search; Timmy follows with the bottled crab in tote]\n\nBALL (exasperated after combing the beach and finding nothing): \"This is ridiculous! Who ever heard of a beach without shells!?\"\n\nPARROT (from a tall palm tree]: \"Braak! A giant jelly lives just off shore. Braak! It eats all the shellfish up whole, and turns their shells to sand. Braak!\"\n\nRIBBON (to the parrot): \"It's very shellfish, er, selfish, of the jelly not leave any shells for the crabs\"\n\nBALL: \"There has to be at least one shell around here!\"\n\nPARROT: Braak! There is one. Braak! Only one; and it's mine---all mine! Braak!\"\n\nBALL (annoyed): \"I don't suppose you'll give it to us\"\n\nPARROT: \"Hahahahahaha----braak! No\"\n\nCRAB: \"What would you want in trade?\"\n\nPARROT (pointing at Timmy's halo): \"Braak! His shiny ring for my shell. Braak!\"\n\n[Timmy shakes his head]\n\nRIBBON (downcast; to the parrot): \"Oh... we can't trade you that; it's a part of him\"\n\nPARROT: \"Then no shell for you! Hahahahaha---braak!\"\n\nBALL (angry): \"You'll trade for your feathers after I've plucked you!\"\n\n[Timmy claps his hands to get Ball's attention; Timmy opens his hand for the treasure map; taking the map, Timmy holds it up for the parrot to see, pointing to the X, then gestures with an open hand to the parrot]\n\nRIBBON: \"Oh! Good idea!\"\n\nRIBBON (to the parrot): \"Mr. Parrot, we have a map that leads to a hidden treasure buried on the island, but we need your shell to unlock our ship to take us there.\nIn exchange for your shell, we'd be happy to share the treasure with you!\"\n\n[Ball grimaces in disapproval of the idea, but understands there's no other options]\n\nPARROT: \"You cannot offer for trade what you don't yet have. Braak!\"\n\n[The parrot flies down to converse with our heroes beak-to-noses]\n\nPARROT (pointing to the ship in the bottle): \"Braak! Your ship has a Jolly Roger. Braak! Are you pirates?\"\n\nCRAB: \"I, er, we're---\"\n\nPARROT (interrupting): \"I've always wanted to be the bird of a pirate captain. Braak! If I can be the captain's bird, I'll give you my shell. Braak!\"\n\nRIBBON (to Timmy): \"What do you say, Cap'n?\"\n\n[Timmy gives a thumb's up; Timmy outstretches his arm and the parrot alights onto it]\n\nPARROT (to the pikas): \"Braak! The shell is buried at the base of my tree. \"Braak!\"\n\n[Ball digs out the shell; the crab is placed on the ground and crawls to its new home]\n\nCRAB: \"Perfect! [to the 'pirates'] Do you think I could come along with you all to the island to help find the treasure?\"\n\nBALL (to Ribbon): \"If we bring the crab along, we'll have to share the treasure with him!\"\n\nRIBBON: \"So what's wrong with that?\"\n\n[Ball sighs as Ribbon collects the crab to take him along on the voyage]\n\n[Upon Timmy's direction, the parrot taps the bottle with its beak, breaking it neatly and freeing the ship]\n\n[With the parrot perched upon his halo and a pika on each shoulder, Timmy walks out into the sea, holding the ship in his hands (the crab is clinging to Ribbon's back; Ball holds the map in her mouth)]\n\n[Once he's as far out as he can safely go, Timmy places the tiny ship upon the water, where it begins to quickly grow---too quick! Before Timmy can climb aboard, the ship becomes too tall to board]\n\n[The parrot flies to the ship and drops a rope from the ship's port side]\n\n[Using the rope, Timmy scales the side of the ship, thus he and his crew aboard ship]\n\n[On board, the friends find a chest containing some pirate attire, including a pirate-captain hat for Timmy]\n\nPARROT (scratching its head): \"Braak! Something's missing\"\n\n[Everyone looks around; Ball looks up and makes an observation]\n\nBALL \"We haven't any sails! [to the crab] Where are our sails!?\"\n\nCRAB (blushing): \"Oh! Uh, I forgot about that\"\n\nBALL \"About what? Where are our sails?\"\n\nCRAB: \"Toilet paper---I used them as toilet paper\"\n\nBALL: \"You what!?\"\n\nCRAB: \"Hey, you use what you can out here!\"\n\nRIBBON: \"It's no big deal---we'll find a solution if we try\"\n\n[Timmy claps his hands to get everyone's attention. Standing on the bow of the ship, Timmy points down at an enormous something floating in the water before the ship]\n\nRIBBON: \"Is-is that the giant jelly?\"\n\nPARROT: \"You bet'cha! Braak!\"\n\nCRAB: \"It's so big!\"\n\nBALL: \"Hey, I wonder if we could convince it to tow us to the island ...but how to do it?\"\n\nRIBBON: \"You could try being nice (for once)\"\n\nBALL (standing as far forward the bow as she can, speaking in a dramatic tone): \"Oh, great giant jelly---never was there such as jelly as thee!\nWouldst thou be so kind as to use thy great strength to tow our humble vessel to yon isle?\"\n\n[The giant jelly blasts Ball with a great jet of water; Ball shakes herself dry and returns to shout at the jelly]\n\nBALL (shouting angrily): \"You big, stupid blob of sea fat! If I weren't being nice, I'd zap you and use your skin as a sail and your tentacles for rigging!\"\n\n[A lightening bolt zaps the giant jelly, paralyzing it (the zap came from Ribbon)]\n\n[Ball gives Ribbon a look of surprise]\n\nRIBBON: \"What? You had a good idea!\"\n\n[And so the giant jelly is strung up as a sail for the ship (don't worry---the jelly isn't dead); the crew sings a cheerful sailing song as Timmy steers the ship]\n\nCREW (singing): \"Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of yum!\"\n\n[Ball takes a sip from a clay bottle marked 'XOX']\n\n[the crew reaches the island and disembarks from the ship]\n\n[The crab (riding on Ribbon's back) unrolls the map for Ball (who carries a shovel in her mouth] to see]\n\n[Long shot of the island showing a large red 'X' directly ahead of our pirates]\n\n[Timmy and the pikas dig out a great treasure chest from the sand ...but, of course, the chest is locked]\n\nRIBBON (encouragingly, to Timmy): \"We need just a little magic---I'm sure you can do it!\"\n\nBALL (bouncing up and down on her pads, greedily): \"Treasure, treasure, treasure! Lemme at it! Lemme at it! Nomnomnomnomnom!\"\n\n[Timmy lightly touches the lock with his finger; the chest begins to open...]\n\n[From the chest pop the crab, the parrot and a tentacle from the jelly]\n\nRIBBON: \"Chip-chip-hoo-ray! The treasure is the friends we met along the way!\"\n\n[Ball plops down on her rump, dumbfounded and speechless]\n\n[Timmy rests on one knee beside the crestfallen Ball; Timmy begins to pet her lightly on the head; Ball makes a feeble smile]\n\n[Timmy opens his hand, revealing a little pirate bone for Ball]\n\n[Ball hugs Timmy, rubbing her head against his cheek]\n\n[Timmy scoops up the pika pair---it's time to go home. with a pika on each shoulder, Timmy turns to face the beach, greeted by the sight of the crab and the parrot waving good-bye. CRAB: "The only way to get the ship out is to break the bottle, but the bottle is my home---there are no shells on this beach to move into"

[Long shot of the four looking out at the barren beach]

RIBBON: "We're sorry, little crab. Maybe we can find you something else to live in, to trade for your bottle?"

CRAB: "Hm ...Ok, but it'll have to be a good something!"

BALL (to Ribbon): "And what, exactly, would make a good home for a crab?"

RIBBON (grinning sheepishly): "I was hoping you'd know!"

[The pikas lead the search; Timmy follows with the bottled crab in tote]

BALL (exasperated after combing the beach and finding nothing): "This is ridiculous! Who ever heard of a beach without shells!?"

PARROT (from a tall palm tree]: "Braak! A giant jelly lives just off shore. Braak! It eats all the shellfish up whole, and turns their shells to sand. Braak!"

RIBBON (to the parrot): "It's very shellfish, er, selfish, of the jelly not leave any shells for the crabs"

BALL: "There has to be at least one shell around here!"

PARROT: Braak! There is one. Braak! Only one; and it's mine---all mine! Braak!"

BALL (annoyed): "I don't suppose you'll give it to us"

PARROT: "Hahahahahaha----braak! No"

CRAB: "What would you want in trade?"

PARROT (pointing at Timmy's halo): "Braak! His shiny ring for my shell. Braak!"

[Timmy shakes his head]

RIBBON (downcast; to the parrot): "Oh... we can't trade you that; it's a part of him"

PARROT: "Then no shell for you! Hahahahaha---braak!"

BALL (angry): "You'll trade for your feathers after I've plucked you!"

[Timmy claps his hands to get Ball's attention; Timmy opens his hand for the treasure map; taking the map, Timmy holds it up for the parrot to see, pointing to the X, then gestures with an open hand to the parrot]

RIBBON: "Oh! Good idea!"

RIBBON (to the parrot): "Mr. Parrot, we have a map that leads to a hidden treasure buried on the island, but we need your shell to unlock our ship to take us there.
In exchange for your shell, we'd be happy to share the treasure with you!"

[Ball grimaces in disapproval of the idea, but understands there's no other options]

PARROT: "You cannot offer for trade what you don't yet have. Braak!"

[The parrot flies down to converse with our heroes beak-to-noses]

PARROT (pointing to the ship in the bottle): "Braak! Your ship has a Jolly Roger. Braak! Are you pirates?"

CRAB: "I, er, we're---"

PARROT (interrupting): "I've always wanted to be the bird of a pirate captain. Braak! If I can be the captain's bird, I'll give you my shell. Braak!"

RIBBON (to Timmy): "What do you say, Cap'n?"

[Timmy gives a thumb's up; Timmy outstretches his arm and the parrot alights onto it]

PARROT (to the pikas): "Braak! The shell is buried at the base of my tree. "Braak!"

[Ball digs out the shell; the crab is placed on the ground and crawls to its new home]

CRAB: "Perfect! [to the 'pirates'] Do you think I could come along with you all to the island to help find the treasure?"

BALL (to Ribbon): "If we bring the crab along, we'll have to share the treasure with him!"

RIBBON: "So what's wrong with that?"

[Ball sighs as Ribbon collects the crab to take him along on the voyage]

[Upon Timmy's direction, the parrot taps the bottle with its beak, breaking it neatly and freeing the ship]

[With the parrot perched upon his halo and a pika on each shoulder, Timmy walks out into the sea, holding the ship in his hands (the crab is clinging to Ribbon's back; Ball holds the map in her mouth)]

[Once he's as far out as he can safely go, Timmy places the tiny ship upon the water, where it begins to quickly grow---too quick! Before Timmy can climb aboard, the ship becomes too tall to board]

[The parrot flies to the ship and drops a rope from the ship's port side]

[Using the rope, Timmy scales the side of the ship, thus he and his crew aboard ship]

[On board, the friends find a chest containing some pirate attire, including a pirate-captain hat for Timmy]

PARROT (scratching its head): "Braak! Something's missing"

[Everyone looks around; Ball looks up and makes an observation]

BALL "We haven't any sails! [to the crab] Where are our sails!?"

CRAB (blushing): "Oh! Uh, I forgot about that"

BALL "About what? Where are our sails?"

CRAB: "Toilet paper---I used them as toilet paper"

BALL: "You what!?"

CRAB: "Hey, you use what you can out here!"

RIBBON: "It's no big deal---we'll find a solution if we try"

[Timmy claps his hands to get everyone's attention. Standing on the bow of the ship, Timmy points down at an enormous something floating in the water before the ship]

RIBBON: "Is-is that the giant jelly?"

PARROT: "You bet'cha! Braak!"

CRAB: "It's so big!"

BALL: "Hey, I wonder if we could convince it to tow us to the island ...but how to do it?"

RIBBON: "You could try being nice (for once)"

BALL (standing as far forward the bow as she can, speaking in a dramatic tone): "Oh, great giant jelly---never was there such as jelly as thee!
Wouldst thou be so kind as to use thy great strength to tow our humble vessel to yon isle?"

[The giant jelly blasts Ball with a great jet of water; Ball shakes herself dry and returns to shout at the jelly]

BALL (shouting angrily): "You big, stupid blob of sea fat! If I weren't being nice, I'd zap you and use your skin as a sail and your tentacles for rigging!"

[A lightening bolt zaps the giant jelly, paralyzing it (the zap came from Ribbon)]

[Ball gives Ribbon a look of surprise]

RIBBON: "What? You had a good idea!"

[And so the giant jelly is strung up as a sail for the ship (don't worry---the jelly isn't dead); the crew sings a cheerful sailing song as Timmy steers the ship]

CREW (singing): "Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of yum!"

[Ball takes a sip from a clay bottle marked 'XOX']

[the crew reaches the island and disembarks from the ship]

[The crab (riding on Ribbon's back) unrolls the map for Ball (who carries a shovel in her mouth] to see]

[Long shot of the island showing a large red 'X' directly ahead of our pirates]

[Timmy and the pikas dig out a great treasure chest from the sand ...but, of course, the chest is locked]

RIBBON (encouragingly, to Timmy): "We need just a little magic---I'm sure you can do it!"

BALL (bouncing up and down on her pads, greedily): "Treasure, treasure, treasure! Lemme at it! Lemme at it! Nomnomnomnomnom!"

[Timmy lightly touches the lock with his finger; the chest begins to open...]

[From the chest pop the crab, the parrot and a tentacle from the jelly]

RIBBON: "Chip-chip-hoo-ray! The treasure is the friends we met along the way!"

[Ball plops down on her rump, dumbfounded and speechless]

[Timmy rests on one knee beside the crestfallen Ball; Timmy begins to pet her lightly on the head; Ball makes a feeble smile]

[Timmy opens his hand, revealing a little pirate bone for Ball]

[Ball hugs Timmy, rubbing her head against his cheek]

[Timmy scoops up the pika pair---it's time to go home. with a pika on each shoulder, Timmy turns to face the beach, greeted by the sight of the crab and the parrot waving good-bye. Behind them, the sun is setting behind the ship. The jelly has slimed its way down and waves to Timmy and the pikas from the sea]

[Timmy and the pikas return the waves; Timmy turns away from the beach, walking a little ways before the halo drops over the three to send them home]
