I bought some pencils with Japanese writing on them. These don't have a JIS stamp, so they're either REALLY old or fairly recent ...I'm going with 'fairly recent'. ^^
Either way, I had no idea what was written on the pencils, so I asked my watchers over on DeviantArt.

I was advised to use Google Translate to find the answer. Apparently, one can drag an image to Google Translate and it will read whatever text it finds ...hypothetically, anyway.

I got some mixed results (depending how I adjusted the color/rotated the image, the translations would change). Here's some of the results produced,
