There is no joy to be found in drawing anymore (and hasn't bee since around February 2020 or so).\n\nEven so, I managed an ACO of Mimi today.\n\nI wasn't sure how I wanted to pose her, so I just drew the character flirting (readying herself for Gene, I'm sure).\n\nI changed my mind about the placement of her arms; drew, then re-centered her body a bit. I figured, as I've done before, I'll make a series of sketches and redraw the one I like most.\nAs it turned out, I didn't want to draw past this one pose ...and I didn't want to redraw it. Despite this, I had to upload something, but I didn't want to continue drawing, and the practice sketch was a mess (I drew it with a very black pencil rather than my Zephyr, so all the lines I'd erased were yet visible).\n\nSo, I opened my Seashore app and removed the errant lines and pencil dust. It was printed back when lower-case Ss looked like lower-case Fs, and when certain marks of punctuation had spaces between they and the statements they emphasize.\n\nAnyway, I opened the book (which has pencil marks in it ...from a /now/ very valuable square-core pencil I'm sure, but I digress) to a random page and read,\n\n\"I provoked God to anger and he has left me; I have so hardened my heart that I cannot repent. O, eternity ! eternity ! How shall I grapple with the misery I must meet in eternity!\"\n\nWell... that's encouraging, given I've accepted Christ yet remain FAR from perfect (you guys just can't know ...I confess, I've cursed God before, in moments of supreme rage).\n\nI read on (skipping a bit),\n\n\"...but O, the love of our Lord ! He reminds us, 1st, Though backsliden, yet he owns us as children, O Father, thy lover ever lives, though folly is in our ways.\n2d. He calls in love, 'return'\" may love cause us to take shame, fall down in sorrow and cry for mercy.\nFor, 3d. He promises. 'I will heal your backslidings:' I will fully and freely pardon them all, though ever so numerous, heinous or aggravating, as though they had never been committed.\nBacksliding sinner ! believe and rejoice: see the effects of this love in the next meditation : O Lord, my God, lighten mine eyes lest I sleep the sleep of death, Psalm xiii S.\"\n\nThere's hope for me (and I'm sure many of us) then. :3\n\nPencil...\n\nThe featured pencil is the 'Mistleto' by Empire Pencil Co.\n\nNo, I didn't mistype, it's spelled on the pencil as I've written above. Disregarding the pencils paint in Christmas colors, I had to look into the word to make sure its name was indeed referring to the mistletoe plant (as opposed to something else, such as a place name).\n\nI discovered this: https://findwords.info/term/mistleto#\n\n\"A parasitic evergreen plant of Europe ( Viscum album), bearing a glutinous fruit. When found upon the oak, where it is rare, it was an object of superstitious regard among the Druids. A bird lime is prepared from its fruit.
