I bought it on eBay, but... I had to fight for it. The pencil was part of a lot of mixed pencils that were being sold auction-style.
I couldn't tell if the pencil was from the old building or the new (I couldn't read all the writing) but I knew I wanted it (it's from the new building ...but that's ok!).

I won the auction for only a few dollars, but there was a problem,

SELLER: "I'm very sorry. I seem to have misplaced the (lot). I canceled the order and will refund your money. I will be listing more pencils and similar lots. Let me know what you were after, I may be able to list something just for you. Again, I'm sorry"

One thing I didn't mention was the presence of some fairly valuable vintage pencils in that lot (and, again, the lot sold for only a few dollars). I could live without those others, but I really wanted the WTC pencil.
