"description": "So, as a few of you know, my childhood interest in Lego has been rekindled. In response, I have been looking at parts and sets to use in a MOC (my own creation) I hope to build.\nWhile shopping for Lego at Target, I discovered set 41454 (The Lab of Dr. Fox) on clearance ...and being furry trash, I had to buy it! ^^;\n\nAnyway, I knew nothing about Dr. Fox: are they good? Evil? Male? Female? I had no idea. That said, it was obvious from the contents of the set that Dr. Fox exists alongside Unikitty---a character I recognize from the ads for The Lego Movie (which I haven't seen *...and have no plans to).\n\n*more on that later.\n\nAnyway, I went to YouTube for answers. From there, I discovered Unikitty has an animated series on Cartoon Network ...and it was as sugar-filled and oversaturated as I thought it would be. That said, I was able to decide Dr. Fox (as a character) is all right by me, enough so that I decided to draw her in my style. :3\n\nThe original design is obviously made to look like Fox's made from Lego ...Well, to a point, anyway. The animated Fox's head looks more like a thin Duplo plate than a Lego brick, and the animated's tail doesn't look like Lego at all.\nOn that note, the cartoon doesn't seem to be taking place in the Lego world, but I know little about the series, so I'm unsure if it's supposed to.\n\nAnyway, since the show's incarnation veers somewhat away from Lego, I thought my design shouldn't be Lego-inspired at all, hence my version is drawn in funny-animal style (and so doesn't wear pants). :3\n\n...Ok, so what have I against The Lego Movie? I have nothing 'against' the movie, I just don't think I'd enjoy it. Based on what I've seen, heard and read about it (which isn't too much), I understand the characters are aware that they're just bits of plastic sitting on a table. Now, I get that, and this idea worked well in Toy Story, but it sits oddly on Lego---at least for me.\nI suppose I couple this with the irritation I see from certain sets, which include stickers, character names, etc., that contain building or brick puns---again, as if the Lego universe really is confined to the borders of the coffee table or the livingroom floor (and knows it). Just strikes me as inappropriately 'meta' for a toy that has such a complex, well-established world----just hard to escape into a Lego fantasy when you know, canonically, the figures (etc.) are aware of your hands moving them around.\nI dunno *shrug*\n\nAnyway, Dr, Fox!",
