"description": "This is Ace Hart from Jim Henson's 'Dog City'.\n\n'Dog City' had both puppets/Muppets and cartoon animation.\n\nThe main Muppet character was Eliot Shag: the (as in 'only') animator and writer of an in-universe cartoon series starring his character Ace Hart.\nEliot could 'talk' with Ace as he animated him (yup---we skip storyboarding here!), the suggestion being Ace was helping Eliot write the series's plots (which, again, Eliot was animating).\n\nAt least, the above describes my interpretation of what I derived from the one 'Dog City' episode I bothered to watch ^^\n\n...said episode may be seen here (link tested 07/11/2021): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTuUQ51NA6A ^^\n\nI know without a doubt that 'Dog City' is a parody of something ...that or it draws heavy inspiration from some film or television series I know nothing about.\nMy guess is Ace Hart is based on actor Humphrey Bogart, but again I'm unsure (yeah, I'm old, but that doesn't mean I'm familiar with every old thing). ^^\n\nAnyway, the pose I chose for Ace is based on a screenshot---Ace's a fairly complicated character who I know I'll never draw again; I just wanted this card to be done (I've been falling behind). ^^\n\nI drew Ace via my Wallace Zephyr pencil and delineated him with one of my second-run Ivanhoe pencils. That said, I did sign and date the card via the featured 'Inspector' pencil by Eagle---all the text was written with the featured pencil.\n\nThe Inspector pencil ...is honestly terrible; I could barely write with it as may be obvious---there was no way I would attempt drawing with it.\nThe Inspector's core is thick, much like that of the A.W. Faber 'Black Magic' pencil, only much harder and can (therefore) be sharpened to a fine point.\n\nI fiddled with this pencil a bit on the side, writing some quotes with it. It's difficult to explain, but my issue with this pencil is its point never seems to land where you think it should (if that makes sense).\nWhat's more, the drag of this pencil is ...almost surreal; the point feels like its floating above the paper. I've used HUNDREDS of vintage pencils---never have I experienced anything like this one; it's creepy and I don't like it! D:\n\nNow, I'm unsure if every 'Inspector' pencil is like my particular one. Reason is mine suffered an injury at some point, and is consequently wanting to split lengthwise (ie, the glue that holds the two halves together is breaking down, likely due to poor storage on part of a previous owner---this pencil is roughly a hundred years old, having been made sometime in the 1910's or thereabouts).\n\nEven so, I cannot see how any of the above accounts for the experience I've had with this pencil. :p\nThe pencil is presently locked in a steel Brumberger box (along with many others), where it shall remain until my passing; I will (likely) never use it again. :3",
