2020 ...we can marry pencils now, right?\n\nHYPOTHETICALWATCHER: \"You like wood, Chippy?\"\n\n...*deep breath*\n\nLemme contextualize... I am enamored with the Dixon 9H ElDorado ...on a purely platonic, ARTSY level. ^^\n\nBasically, its lines are so light that they are almost invisible, thus enabling me to draw a bit more freely, without 'too' much concern over ghost lines and other things.\nI can then go over the 9H's lines with any pencil that can go over them (which is effectively all of them).\n\nNow, of course, if one sucks at drawing, a fancy pencil won't change that fact, but (on my end) the 9H has improved my experience of drawing---I don't have to be so careful when I use it.\n\nOf course, there are some exceptions and cons. Among them is the amount of clean-up that's required (which, despite the hardness of the 9H, does create a lot of dust); easing the lines that are drawn over those of the 9H isn't easy (the 9H can create grooves in the paper, trapping graphite).\nSo, the experience of going over the lines is equivalent to that of inking, which tests my confidence.\nAdditionally, drawing over lines can create shadows or a 'seeing double' effect. I need to learn how not to do this. ^^\n\nThankfully, I still have a 'who cares' mindset where it comes to my art---a little less so for ACO drawings, but 'good enough' is yet sufficient for me (my watchers don't seem to mind, either, so it's all good!). :3\n\nAs for the featured pencil, I am pleased to introduce the Eagle 'Alpha' pencil.\nThe Alpha is 'Chemi-sealed', which means the graphite compound is bonded together synthetically ...and given this pencil is over 40 years old, said seal has decayed nicely, giving the graphite a buttery smoothness the pencil likely didn't have in is youth.\n\nI like this pencil! XD\n\n...Even so, it's not perfect, esp. for one who can barely draw. It's lines are (effectively) indelible---you're not erasing these easily ...SO DON'T SCREW UP! ...too late! :P\nAnyway, I like the smooth drag of the Alpha, as well the fact its lines have almost *no 'dotting' in them---the lines are very solid and dark.\n\n*my scanner has 'dust removal' ...which doesn't remove actual dust, but can create the appearance of 'caries' in lines.\n\nLast, the Alpha is among the few 'jumbo' pencils in my collection. By 'jumbo', I mean the Alpha's barrel is wider than that of a standard pencil, and (therefore) has a bigger lead. ...and on that note, the Alpha's lead can be sharpened to (and maintain) a fine point, which isn't true of other thick-lead pencils, such as the Ebony or the Black Magic. :3\n\nAnyway...\n\nTeen Huck is the subject of this ACO. Teen Huck is from Hanna-Barbera's 'Yo Yogi' series, from 1991 ...think 'Muppet Babies', only with the 'Yogi's Gang' cast, aged down to teenagers (albeit, to me, they look like elementary students).\n'Yo Yogi' has NOT aged well---it's dated to a fault (as a 90's kid, it's hard to watch) and is consequently forgettable ...which fits it perfectly into my ACO collection!\n\nAs for the picture itself, it's based on a screenshot from a favorite episode of HuckAndLil: https://www.deviantart.com/huckandlil (AKA Amanda).\n\nScreen Shot: https://sta.sh/0qaot01t9y3\n\nHuckAndLil is a friend of both myself and Yo Yogi (the latter needs all the support it can get, and the former simply takes what he can). ^^\n\nI made this as a 'replacement' gift for HuckAndLil, since the original (a quickie) was deleted by me during a recent purge (I didn't think it'd be missed).\n\nAnyway...
