was a day of finding things.\n\nFrom the thrift, I found some ROTC pins (I can flip these!), as well as a DVD of the first five episodes of 'Hoop Days' (a basketball anime ...that has some endearing qualities to it, let's say).\nMost importantly, I found a bag of mostly light bluish-gray Lego pieces, in extremely good condition (perfect for my tower MOC)! :D\n\nLast, from the food market, I discovered a dessert called 'Giant Caplico' (expect art of its mascot).\n\nOh, I found one other thing: Waldo. :3\n\nSpecifically, I re-discovered the 'Where's Waldo' (or 'Where's Wally', for those in the UK) animated series from the 1990's, via a compilation of vintage television ads uploaded to YouTube.\n\n...Upon seeing the ad, I had some very vague recollections of seeing the Waldo series announced before, albeit I don't think I'd ever watched the show.\n\nI searched for an episode to view ...and found I couldn't sit through it. :P\n\nEven so, I decided to add Waldo's dog 'Woof' to my draw list, as I like obscure characters/shows ('Where's Waldo' certainly qualifies).\nFurther, I decided today to draw Woof off my list, as I have enough subjects rotting there as it is---best to get new arrivals out of the way quick! XD\n\nAnyway...\n\n'Where's Waldo' is based on a series of children's picture books in which the character Waldo would be hidden somewhere on the pages. The goal was to 'find' Waldo ...which wasn't easy (and, yes, I had some of these books).\n\nDespite his tacky, peppermint sweater, Waldo was adept at hiding himself among swarms of people and other objects, arranged in such ways that one's eye couldn't find Waldo at a glance.\nThe books would also give the viewer other objects to look for, thereby increasing their value.\n\nFUN FACT: Waldo also had an NES game based on this concept ...and, yes, I've played it. :3\n\nBut how does one go about contriving an animated series from the 'Waldo' concept, esp. in the 1990's when kids' programming had to be 'educational'?\n\nThe simple answer is: you don't. The longer answer is you provide Waldo an objective in a strange part of the world and/or point in time, usually with some type of artifact or tool to look for. Sounds like geography and history to me! ...And Woof's an animal, and nature is educational, right? Right? :P\n\nFINAL FUN FACT: I have a lot of difficulty pronouncing 'Woof'. I can do it if I try, but by default, the word comes out as 'Wuff'. ^^","description_bbcode_parsed":"Yesterday was a day of finding things.

From the thrift, I found some ROTC pins (I can flip these!), as well as a DVD of the first five episodes of 'Hoop Days' (a basketball anime ...that has some endearing qualities to it, let's say).
Most importantly, I found a bag of mostly light bluish-gray Lego pieces, in extremely good condition (perfect for my tower MOC)! :D

Last, from the food market, I discovered a dessert called 'Giant Caplico' (expect art of its mascot).

Oh, I found one other thing: Waldo. :3

Specifically, I re-discovered the 'Where's Waldo' (or 'Where's Wally', for those in the UK) animated series from the 1990's, via a compilation of vintage television ads uploaded to YouTube.

...Upon seeing the ad, I had some very vague recollections of seeing the Waldo series announced before, albeit I don't think I'd ever watched the show.

I searched for an episode to view ...and found I couldn't sit through it. :P

Even so, I decided to add Waldo's dog 'Woof' to my draw list, as I like obscure characters/shows ('Where's Waldo' certainly qualifies).
Further, I decided today to draw Woof off my list, as I have enough subjects rotting there as it is---best to get new arrivals out of the way quick!
