we begin, I have no idea how to remove that crumb from my scanner. It's under the glass and it doesn't open.\n\n...Anyway,\n\nWATCHER: \"... you should give (the fox boy) a name and add him to your cast of characters!\"\n\nPerhaps their's wasn't an isolated thought, as the original drawing has 95 views and 10 hearts on Pixiv (as of writing). Compare that with 299 views and 9 hearts for my most complex (and arguably more interesting) work. :3\n\nSo most of you all like the fox ...who is absolutely generic, but I get it (he's just a fox---he doesn't come replete with emotional baggage and a load of needlessly complicated explanations and guidelines)! XD\n\nIn light of that, I made this quickie to write a little more about the fox and his adventure at the seaside. Moreover, I've written a bit about why I made the original drawing. Let's go!\n\nSo, the fox (who doesn't need a name) collected shells with the girls, per his mother's direct instruction.\nAfter, the fox got to play as he wanted (which, of course, was why he went to the seaside to begin with).\nAt day's end, his mom wrapped him in a dry towel for the trip home.\nThe end. :3\n\n...What?\n\nOk, so if I'm not going to have any fun, why make art like this to begin with? ...Fact is, this was fun for me; I like the concept of the double standard introduced by the original comic---that boys are encouraged (or even made to) enjoy the beach without a bather on, whereas girls are expected to wear appropriate beach clothing.\n\nThere was a time IRL when such was the rule, at least in the Western world where I'm from. Such isn't so much the case here anymore, but again there was a time. So, because this double standard was a real, historical thing, it makes it even more fun to think about. :3\n\nAt least, it is so to look back on or think about today, as mindsets have changed so much since, say, the 1950's when this standard was commonplace (even in schools that had swimming pools ...yes, schools lol).\nSuch is the reason I made the comic---just to have the concept depicted in my gallery.\nI've 'almost' done this with Gene, via having him visit a clothing-optional beach, albeit, Gene wasn't compelled to not wear anything and neither had he parents to ensure he followed the (non-existent) rules. Hence, Gene's story didn't count.\n\nAnyway, I'm not old enough to've experienced this double standard firsthand---I've only read about it through archived news clips and (dubious) accounts on the internet.\nI do, again, find the concept interesting, as do some of my watchers. That said, some of you may appreciate my two-cents on the matter---what do I think of the double standard (which so far as I know, applied primarily to to kids high-school age and younger)?\n\n...I think it's old fashioned and a product of gender roles and social conformity. Ie., boys shouldn't be modest---it's not manly and the military needs tough guys for war. Girls are dainty and delicate, and must maintain their sense of modesty until they're of age to produce viable offspring (and even then, are to keep their business for their husbands).\n\nThe idea loses its appeal once it's explained away in those terms. Again, its enforcement was a product of its day: the same mom who, back then, would demand a boy remove his bather, would today tell him to put one on lest she call the police (which, again, isn't fun to think about).\n\nSo, where's the appeal?\n\nThe appeal comes to light when one dismisses the hows and whys, to simply examine the scenario objectively, at face value. Expressed simply. \"It's cute!\" ^_^\n\nIn the original comic, there is much one can laugh at or even fetishize without getting into erotic territory.\nI mean, there's the whole 'NMCF' aspect, as well the idea of subordination---the fox isn't going to challenge his mother's order, esp. when he's standing naked in front of her!\n\nFor me, the above is an 'adult' concept, applied to and contextualized into a feasible, real-world scenario. That being said, giving mind to it doesn't (or, at least, needn't) involve the overstretching of one's imagination or the suspension of one's disbelief in order to find something appealing in the idea as expressed by the comic's characters.\n\nOne watcher wrote in response,\n\n\"i would have called her bluff since i dont think she would have spank (Fox) in front of everyone\"\n\nSee, I like that, in the sense that something I made (crude as it was) sparked someone's imagination and introduced a what-if (that, itself, is feasible and could have consequences/an outcome that could also be fun to think about) ..which is among the points of art like mine. :3\n\nAnother inclusion is that of shyness/embarrassment. It's understandable, albeit one can guess the fox is taking matters a bit personally---he surely isn't the only boy on the beach, nor is he the only one the girls (who are introduced as the fox's friends) have ever seen in his birthday suit.\n\nThe moms are aware of all the above, which is why the fox mom says 'It's a mom thing'.\n\nWhat was she referring to?\n\nIn short, she's teaching her kit the ways of the world---again, it's that unfun social conformity covered earlier. The moms can have their giggles (they're adults who have similar thoughts as some reading this), with the mutual understanding/belief that what they're doing is right and proper (again, per the mindset of their world).\n\nThought about a different way, the fox mom wouldn't have been given any applause to had she put a bather on her kit---that would have been treating him 'special' and that would lead to real embarrassment, possibly of the damaging sort (and my guess is very few reading this would want to hurt the cubs here).\n\nTL;DR: the antecedent of the fox mom's 'it' is 'raising cubs'.\n\nEach of the moms are empathetic to the little fox, but (again) they know what the lesson here is, and that it'll end in some character building---it's the 'right' thing to do so there's nothing to feel bad about. :3\n\nThis latest comic emphasizes that.\n\nThe fox and the girls are friends---they knew each other before this and are used to playing with each other. Additionally, they're at the seaside, which might be a rare or uncommon treat for them. There's lots to do, and collecting shells can soon turn exciting or even competitive! In short, the fox got over his shyness pretty quick---why wouldn't he, esp. if (as would be likely) no undue or excessive attention were given to him by the girls (which, I'm sure, the girls' moms' would put an end to if it happened that way).\n\nThe cubs would eventually tire of shells, enabling all concerned to play in their respective fancies (seems the fox likes swimming with dolphins).\n\nI find all the above appealing on its own, without any unnecessary details or superfluousness added to it---just cubs playing around on the beach. The fox's nudity adds to the charm of the scene, but it's incidental to the grander picture (though, again, because it adds, I include it---it's my thing after all). :3\n\nAnyway, the day was a good one for the cubs, as well for my watchers who experienced it vicariously at home. :3","description_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>Before we begin, I have no idea how to remove that crumb from my scanner.
