I got this fancy touchscreen computer, but there was no way to position it so drawing was comfortable with my setup, SO, I plugged in my old tablet, fought with wacom's terrible drivers for a bit, and went back to my old stomping ground\n\nDRAWING IS EASY AGAIN YAY\n\nanyway this is the first of my OC Portraits that I'm doing in celebration of getting back into the swing of things. There will be one solo portrait of each of my OCs because they're my children and they deserve their own image with how much time they spend in my brain.\n\n***WARNING: Backstory contains references to heavy drug use. Proceed delicately. ***\n\nthis is Kulta. You've seen him before. born in the \"deep north,\" but raised as a normie child in Sol-Temperance, which is basically my universe's expy of the united states. he never knew either of his parents, as he was taken out of his home country at a SUPER young age (3) by his uncle. he only has very faint images of a mother and father deep in his brain. it HAS been 24 years, after all. Kulta did his best in childhood to adapt to a new country, but was often teased for his very \"foreign\" appearance compared to his peers. his teenage life didn't get much better as his uncle would drown himself in liquor night after night, and had a hard time taking care of a growing boy. at the age of 16, Kulta smoked his first cigarette that he got from a friend. This begins an 8 year battle with serious addiction. By age 19, opiates have completely consumed him, living his life only to escape the ugly sickness that withdrawal brings. 5 more years blur by as he hooks up with girlfriends and boyfriends that were \"junkies\" like him, most of which he's forgotten the name of. ONE fateful evening, Kulta is offered LSD for the first time. Naturally, he's on-board, as it's a drug he's never tried and has heard all sorts of crazy things about. he takes it... too much of it. He's warned about \"bad trips\" as he falls into a deep trance so spiritual and profound to him that he vowed to quit opiates afterward, having seen something \"so beautiful.\" one year later, he's mostly sobered up, having kicked the opiate addiction, and only smokes - as well as dabbling with psychedelics once in a blue moon. He eventually meets Arin in a story I hope to be able to tell properly someday and falls DEEPLY in love. Three years later is \"present day,\" his current age being 28, and naturally, is still with Arin, showing no signs of slowing anything down.\n\nhe can't help but laugh at his own origin story.\n\"So, drugs... saved you from other drugs...?\"\n\"You bet!\"\n\nP.S.
