It basically amounts to NOT providing any choice at all. What is the point of a tech-tree when in the end it just ends up unlocking the same stuff for that race no matter which path you choose? >=\\\n\nUltimately, one monster is the same as the next anyway, one magic sword is the same as the next whether it be a fire or ice enchantment, or my spaceships are the same as my enemies spaceships once we've unlocked all the end-game tech, so everything else is just an aesthetic choice for the most part. SO GIVE ME THE CHOICES! I WANT ALL OF THEM! I want all the games to essentially provide me with a cinematic experience, where I get to be the director and decide what's what. \n\nTake something like GoT where it's just humans; we know humans! They are all from the same RACE, regardless of skin colour, what identifies them is the FACTION they are with. We know humans. Liable to switch sides at the drop of a hat if someone else comes along with an idea that they like better. While humans aren't usually as treacherous as the skaven, it is most regrettable that there is so much fucking racism in all of these fantasy worlds. In a fantasy game it can be fun to play that way, but when every game approaches it that way, how many times can you endure the blatantly obviousness of it all before it gets boring? Oh, who's the villain this time, boys and girls? That's right, the obvious bad guy.\n\nFuck but I just want an adventure game where I can walk my character into a tavern filled with patrons from ALL the different races. WHY IS IT USUALLY JUST HUMANS ELVES AND DWARVES?! I want to see a kaleidoscope of shapes and colours, rather than just another bunch of boring humans, pansy elves and tolkein dwarves. Don't get me wrong though, tolkein dwarves are my favourite, but I want to see something NEW and original; to be specific, something that doesn't just make the dwarves into another race of elves that lives underground. FUCKING BETHESDA I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY MORE ABOUT THE DWEMER. YOU FUCKED EVERYTHING. ARGH! I like their tech, and their architecture is interesting sometimes, but THERE ARE ENOUGH VARIETIES OF FUCKING ELVES.
