The Characters of Leo and Kate Lupine, Charlie Jones, Angel Savannah and Sid Stonem belong to me.","writing":"Part 2.\n\n\t\tINT- Leo?s bedroom, night\n\nLeo lays asleep on his bed, with the sheets half covered on his body.\n\nHe slowly breathes in and out. In a serene and unconcious state, he\n\n\t\tdreams.\n\n\t\tINT- Dream, Leo?s mind\n\nLeo is an adult in his dream. Fully grown, in bright silvery armour, like a knight, riding on horseback through a forest, blooming with wild flowers and towering trees that reach the skies. Leo?s horse, a white male steed, walks through the forest, with such flawless grace. \n\nThe skies are in bloom with the whitest of clouds and the deepest of blue.\n\nLeo hears a slight whisper in the air, like a person?s voice calling his name. He see's from the from a distance, a dark exterior, but also a bright light that shines in between, like an entity of light. The whispers go fainter and fainter, each time, his steed takes a step further.\n\n\t\tLeo pulls on the steed?s reins and off they go, out of the forest, at such a lightning fast pace, towards the light that shines in between the dark surroundings. But as Leo and his steed get closer and closer, the light gets dimmer and dimmer.\n\n\t\tThe skies turn to a dark red and the clouds turn to a dark grey colour. The sound of thunder can be heard and the unsettling odour of rotting flesh and death.\n\n\t\tLeo looks up at the sky as he slowly gets off his steed and pulls from behind his back, a long golden sword. He notices movement up ahead. Some nasty, vicious looking demons spot Leo as they rush towards him and his steed.\n\n\tLeo readies himself for battle as he stands prepared and willing to fight them off.\n\n\t\t\t\n\n\tThe first lunges at him with claws a foot long and it?s jaws opening wide, with teeth gnashing and spewing with a green slimy substance.\n\nLeo swings his sword at the beast, slicing it?s head off the rest of it?s body before it could even attack him.\n\n\tThe others circle Leo and his horse. One makes a move on Leo as it jumps high in the air to pounce on him, but Leo jumps high to and cleaves the demon in half. Its\t entrails and insides fly in the air like tiny flakes of snow.\n\n\tLeo sees the other demons that squeal and flee into the darkness.\n\n\tLeo is about to put his sword away, until suddenly, a rumbling noise is heard, coming from the ground. The grounds upon up beneath where Leo?s stead stands, as a gigantic worm like creature, shoots out and snatches the steed in its many fangs and \tteeth. The horse squirms and yells in pain. Leo looks on in horror. The worm drags \t\tthe steed into the ground, deep into the bowels of the earth. The ground slowly closes. But then from above, a winged creature, hovers over Leo. Leo looks up but is blinded temporarily by a bright light emanating by the creature.\n\n\tFinally, the creature lands to the ground, revealing itself to Leo, as a female demon, with the appearance of a wolf, with six tails, three breasts and two long horns on her head. She stands and laughs loudly and menacingly.\n\nLeo readies himself, as the demon wolf raises her arm and them aims at Leo, firing out a giant fireball, healing swiftly towards Leo.\n\n\t\tHe dodges the fireball by jumping out of its reach.\n\nShe fires another one, only bigger, but this time it hits Leo, sending him to the ground with a hard thud.\n\nIt weakens him a little. The demon wolf approaches Leo as he lays on the ground.\n\n\t\tShe glares over him and laughs once again.\n\n\t\n\nSuddenly another bright light appears, in front of the demon wolf and knocks her off her feet, with a blast. The light soon emerges before Leo as an entity, a female lion with wings. She slowly kneels down and places her paw on Leo?s head who is still weakened and bewildered. The demon wolf backs away and disappears into the\t\tdarkness. The winged lion smiles and kisses Leo on the forehead. She then spreads her massive angelic wings and covers Leo with them. A bright blue glow emanates from the winged lioness. She finally raises her wings off Leo.\n\n\t\tLeo now appears, not as an adult in armour, but now a naked wolf child.\n\n\tThe lioness picks Leo up gently in her arms and flaps her wings, before taking off into the sky which has now returned to a clear blue and the clouds as white as snow.\n\nLeo holds on tight as the lioness soars into the cloud above. He looks down slightly and sees landscapes and mountains far and wide.\n\nThe lioness finally lands with Leo in her arms by a lake. She puts down Leo and takes him by the paw, as they both walk towards the lake and finally enter the cool and settled water.\n\nAs soon as Leo?s feet touch the surface, the dream ends, and Leo wakes up. He opens his eyes slowly and looks up at the ceiling, staying still and silent.\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t\n\nSCENE:\n\n\t\tEXT- Daytime, Noon, Saturday\n\n\t\tLeo sits outside the front door of the house, playing on his Gameboy. A car pulls over\n\n\t\toutside the house. A red broken-down Ford Fiesta. Charlie who is roughly dressed as always, comes out and walks towards the gate and spits on the ground. \n\n The Doberman then approaches Leo.\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:\n\n\t\t ``Hey, shithead, is your mum home?''\n\n\t\tLeo ignores him and focuses on his game boy screen. Charlie snarls at Leo in frustration. He then grabs the game boy from Leos hands and throws it across the lawn.\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE\n\n\t\t\t\t ``Go fish, bitch boy.''\n\n\t\tCharlie then storms past Leo and into the hall, yelling.\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:\n\n\t\t\t``Hey, babe! You home? I got the stuff!''\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\tLeo walks over to where his game boy landed, on the stone pavement. The screen is now cracked and buttons broken off laying somewhere near. Leo picks up what's left of it and tries not to cry, but cant control himself. But they are tears of anger.\n\nHe runs out past the gate and runs down the road, with a rage inside him, and tears flowing from his eyes.\n\n\t\t\t\t\tLEO:\n\n\t\t\t\t(sobbing, while running)\n\n\t\t\t``That fucking bastard! I?ll get him someday!''\n\n\t\tINT- Leo?s house, Kitchen, afternoon\n\n\t\tCharlie and Kate are sitting on the couch. Kate reaches out her arm with a belt wrapped tightly around it.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\n\t\t\t\t\tKATE:\n\n\t\t\t``Come on Charlie. I?m waiting.''\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:\n\n\t\t\t``Hold on, baby. I?m almost done.''\n\n\t\tCharlie holds cigarette lighter under a spoon. On the spoon is a powdered substance mixed with a little water. It starts to boil and liquefied. He then puts down the lighter and takes a syringe, filling it up with the liquid. He then takes Kates arm and starts tapping for a vein.\n\n\t\t\n\n\tHe then slips the needle in and injects Kate with the substance.\n\n\tKate gives out a low sigh and then a sudden gasp as she already feels the stuff kicking in.\n\n\t\t\t\t\tKATE:\n\n\t\t``Oh yeah, that's it. I feel so fucking better already.''\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:\n\n\t\t\t``That's my girl. Slip into Pappa Euphoria''\n\n\t\tAs Kate falls into a state of drug induced psychosis, Charlie moves forward and kisses Kate on the lips constantly while fondling her breasts.\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:\n\n\t\t\t``That?s a good girl. Let Daddy have some sugar''.\n\nKate gives out a slight moan, before drifting further into unconsciousness.\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\tEXT: Daytime, Noon, Saturday\n\n\t\tLeo stands outside a small confectionary shop, waiting on a friend of his, by the name of Sid (a gorilla a few year older than Leo.)\n\n\t\tLeo waits patiently, but couldn't help but noticed that he was being watched from across the street by a stranger. A lioness in very dark clothing stares over at Leo. He notices and looks back over at her. After a few seconds she stops and walks away.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:\n\n\t\t\t\t\t``Wow. That was weird''\n\n\t\tThen he hears somebody calling his name. It?s Sid running towards him, holding a skateboard under his arm.\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSID:\n\n\t\t\t\t\t ``Yo, Leo!''\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:\n\n\t\t\t\t\t ``You're late again''.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSID:\n\n\t\t``yeah, sorry. Mum was making pizza rolls.'' (out of breath)\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:\n\n\t\t\t``it?s always about food with you, aint it.''\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSID:\n\n\t``Come on. I said I was sorry. Let's hit the park, man.''\n\n\t\t\t\n\nLeo nods and follows beside Sid as they head off to the park.\n\n SID: ``So how's it been little buddy.''\n\n \n\n LEO: ``Things have been okay.''\n\n SID: ``Well you look a bit off. Is there everything troubling you?'' \n\n LEO: ``My mum's been.... She's been busy with work. She barely has time for me.''\n\n SID: ``Sorry to hear that man.... Hopefully things might get better for ya. Besides I was wondering if you'd be up a game of smash brothers, next weekend at my place?''\n\n LEO: ``Sure, I'd love that. I really like your place and family is nice.'' \n\n \n\nSID: ``Your welcome brother. Now I can't wait to show you my fakie big spin.''\n\n \n\nLEO: ``So long as you don't hurt yourself then sure.''\n\n ******************\n\n EXT- Outside Leo's House, Late Evening, Saturday.\n\nLeo slowly and quietly approaches his house. As he makes his way along the pavement he notices that Charlies car is gone. \n\nLEO: \n\n(Thinks to himself)\n\n``Good damn riddance''\n\nLeo arrives at the front of the house and knocks lightly on the door. Seconds later the door bursts open revealing Kate, who roughly drags him in. The she-wolf looks livid. \n\nKATE:\n\n(Screams)\n\n``WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN?!!?''\n\nLEO: ``I've been at the park, mother.''\n\nKATE: ``THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME BEFORE YOU LEFT!??''\n\nThe she-wolf's watery pink eye's blaze with anger and her matted fur and stained clothes smelted of smoke. \n\nLEO: ``You didn't seem interested in me at all earlier and Charlie didn't seem to want me around.''\n\nKATE: ``YOU FUCKING IDIOT! YOUR MEN'T TO TELL ME, BEFORE YOU GO OUT! NOT AFTERWARDS!!'' \n\nLEO:''I'm sorry mother.''\n\nKATE: ``That won't cut it. Go to your room and stay there.''\n\nLeo kicks off his trainers and runs upstairs to his bedroom. He settles himself down on his lumpy bed and lays there in complete silence. Leo has a strong feeling that Kate hasn't finished with her discipline. \n\nMinutes later Kate enters his bedroom, holding a leather belt in her paws. Leo eyes widen with fear at the mire sight of the belt. \n\nKATE: ``Get against the wall, now.'' \n\nLEO: ``Mother, please.''\n\nKATE: ``I SAID NOW! It's the only way you'll learn.''\n\n \n\nLeo slowly gets up from his bed before he surprises Kate by making a break for the door. Kate roughly grabs Leo by the scruff of his neck. \n\n\t\t\n\nKATE: ``WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PLAYING AT? Your, not thinking running away, now are you?'' \n\nKate glares down at Leo, whilst he stairs down at the floor.\n\nKATE: ``If where to run away then you'd have nowhere to go. You wouldn't want to end up in an orphanage now, would you?'' \n\nLEO: ``You know what, I wouldn't mind living in an orphanage. Anywhere is better than hear.'' \n\nHe now glairs back at the she-wolf, who's mouth hangs open in disbelief. \n\nKATE: ``Don't be stupid boy! You won't find anyone out there who loves you the same way as I do.''\n\nLEO: ``Your full of shit! You don't love me at all! I've had enough of your crap and I'm leaving!'' \n\nKate looks as though she has seen a ghost. She cannot process what her son has just said to her. Free from Kates grasp, Leo exits his bedroom and makes his way along the landing. Suddenly he cries out in in pain as a metal belt buckle smashes into his left shoulder. The sharp buckle tears open Leo's shoulder blade, ripping the sleeve of his shirt and leaving a long thin gash. \n\nKate then grabs Leo's bloody shoulder with her free paw, digging her claws into his open wound. \n\nKATE: \n\n(screams)\n\n``YOUR NOT LEAVING ME!! YOUR NOT LEAVING!!'' \n\nLEO: \n\n(whines in pain)\n\n``Get off me. You don't need me.''\n\nKATE: \n\n(snarls)\n\n``Shut up! You don't get it, do you...... You belong to me! The moment you left my womb, you belonged to me! I haven't finished punishing you yet!''\n\nLEO:\n\n(Yells)\n\n``Get off me!''\n\nBreaking free from the she-wolfs grasp, Leo spins around and scratches Kate in the right eye with his razor-sharp claws. Kate lets out a blood curdling scream as she falls to the floor. She howls with pain on the floor, with a paw clamped over her bloody right eye. \n\nWith his opponent down, Leo sprints along the landing and down the stairs into the hall. Just as he's reaching for the door handle, the front door bursts open revealing Charlie. A snarl begins to form on the Dobermans muzzle, as he notices Leo blood stained paw and the gash on his shoulder. Charlie begins to growl at Leo, as he hears Kate sob from upstairs.\n\nCHARLIE: ``What the fuck did you do?''\n\nThe Doberman grabs Leo by the front of his shirt and lifts him from the ground.\n\nCHARLIE: \n\n(screams)\n\n``WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO MY MATE!?!''\n\nKATE: \n\n(sobs)\n\n``He's fucking blinded me! That's what he's done!''\n\nThe she-wolf now stands at the top of the stairs. Her face and clothes are covered in blood. \n\nCHARLIE: ``You little bastard!''\n\nHis grip tightens on Leo's shirt. \n\nKATE:\n\n(screams)\n\n``KILL HIM!! JUST FUCKING KILL HIM!!!'' \n\nThen instinctively, Leo finds himself sinking his teeth into the side of Charlies neck. Everything begins to slow down as Charlie lets out a loud gasp of pain and Kate begins to scream. Leo can taste Charlie's blood in his mouth, but he also begins to feel the Dobermans grip loosening on his shirt. Leo wriggles free and sprints out the house.\n\nKATE: \n\n(screams after Leo)\n\n``GET THE BACK HEAR NOW!!!''\n\nHowever, Leo continues to spirt on, knowing that there is no turning back. If he were to ever return, then Kate and Charlie would kill him or injure him beyond repair. \n\n \n\n\t\t***********************\n\n\t\tEXT- Bus stop, Night, Saturday.\n\n\t\tThe night sky was quite cloudy and dark.\n\n\t\tLeo stands at a bus stop, not waiting for a bus, but just standing there.\n\n\t\tIt felt like a safe place away from home to him.\n\n\t\tHe stood there for almost half an hour. He still stands there, staring into the ongoing traffic.\n\nSuddenly, he feels someone's hands on his shoulder, and then a hard and rough pull, sending him down to the ground. Behind him is Charlie, looking really pissed off. He then pulls Leo up back on his feet and waves a stanley blade up to his neck.\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:\n\n\t``Come with me now, or you?re fucking dead! I?ll do it!''\n\n\tLeo stares down at the blade close to his neck. He shakes with such stricken fear. Charlie takes Leo down an ally way, a few feet from the bus stop. He then pushes Leo down onto the ground in the alley. Leo starts to sob. Charlie gets even more pissed off, now kicking hard at Leo.\n\n\tLeo cowers and whimpers as he?s being brutally kicked by Charlie. He tries to cover himself with his arms and legs, curling up into a ball.\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:\n\n``Shut up! Shut the fuck up, you little shit! Your mum sent me to teach you a lesson, and I got the right punishment''.\n\n\t\tHe kneels over Leo and notices his bare feet. A sadistic smile appears on his face. He takes his blade and puts it up to Leo's big toe. \n\n\t\t\t\t\tCHARLE:\n\n\t``Let's see you try to run away without your toes, bitch boy.''\n\n\t\t\t\t\tLEO:\n\n\t\t (whimpering louder)\n\n\t\t\t``No, Charlie. Please. Don't cut off my toes.'' \n\nJust as Charlie is about to cut into Leo?s foot, he notices a blueish light behind him and turns his head. Suddenly a dark figure emanating a dark blue glow stands behind him, wielding a metal object. The dark figure swings the object at Charlie and knocks him down onto the ground, breaking his jaw. He rolls on the ground squealing in pain. Leo looks over at the stranger who steps out of the dark. Badly beaten and weakened, he can only see the blue glow, before falling unconscious.\n\nLeo doesn't remember much apart from being picked up from the ground and carried. \n\nNext, he remembers being placed down on somewhere soft and his clothing being peeled off him. \n\n \n\n\t\tINT- stranger?s house, living room.\n\nLeo finally awakens and notices that he?s laying down on a couch. The lower half of his body is covered with a blanket. He looks over and see?s someone tending to his bruises, and cuts, applying plasters, bandages and some cloth. \tHis vision is blurred at first, but after a couple of seconds improves as he can now make out what the person looks like. He sees and realises that it?s the stranger from earlier who stared at him from across the street. Their eyes then meet.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSTRANGER:\n\n\t\t\t\t\t``Ah. Good. You're awake.''\n\nThe stranger turns out to be a lioness with honey yellow fur and a cream coloured muzzle and paws. She wears a black vest and jogging bottoms. Around her head she wears a black head band. \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:\n\n\t``It?s you...from today....and in the alley....That was you in the alley, right?\n\nThe lioness smiles and nods and continues to apply another band aid to Leo?s foot.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSTRANGER:\n\n\t\t\t\t``My name is Angel. What?s yours?''\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:\n\n\t\t\t\t\t(Nervously replies)\n\n\t\t\t``My name?s Leonardo. But everyone calls me Leo''.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tANGEL:\n\n\t\t\t\t\t ``Leo? I can't have you walking around in just that blanket.''\n\nIt's then that Leo realises that underneath the blanket he doesn't have clothes on, except from his underwear. His realisation causes him to blush slightly. \n\nLeo: Oh right. Thank you, Miss Angel.\t\n\nANGEL: Your welcome child. \n\nThe lioness leaves the room, with her tail swishing behind her. Alone, Leo begins to observe the surroundings of the dimly lit room. Several things catch his eye, such as a large shelf clustered with DVDs, several wooden tribal lion masks that hang on the wall and a stone fire place. However, what stood out the most to Leo, was a large gold framed photograph the hung on the wall above the fire place. The photograph consists a group of several lions and lionesses, who stand together in a field. Leo, Spots angel on the far right of the photo next to a slender white furred lioness. \n\nLEO: \n\n(thinks to himself)\n\n``That must be her family.'' \n\n \t\t\t\n\nJust then Angel enters the room, holding a baggy white t-shirt and a pair green shorts in her paws. \n\nANGEL: ``Hear you go, love. These should fit you.''\n\nLEO: ``Thank you miss Angel. By the way, where are my clothes?'' \n\nANGEL: ``There in the wash honey. They are covered in blood and ripped.'' \n\nLEO: \n\n(thinks to himself) \n\n``She has a good point there.''\n\nThe feline hands Leo the clothes, which he hurriedly puts on. The clothes are loose fitting on his slender frame, but they are still comfortable. Besides Leo rarely gets clean clothes. \n\n\t\t\t\n\nAngel then settles herself down on the sofa next to Leo. She gives him a reassuring smile. \n\nANGEL: ``Now that your patched up and you have clothes on your back, how do you feel?''\n\nLEO: ``I feel slightly shaken up, but I'll be fine. Besides I've suffered worse than this before.'' \n\nANGEL: ``Ah, that's always good to know. Anyhow who was that Doberman beating you up down the alleyway.... Do you know him?''\n\nLEO: ``Unfortunately, I do know him, he's my mother's boyfriend. His name is Charlie and he's a right asshole, smacking me around and insulting me every chance he gets.''\n\nANGEL: ``Oh God. What about your mother?'' \n\nLEO: ``She's even worse. I got that cut on my shoulder thanks to her.''\n\nANGEL: ``Are they abusing you?''\n\nLEO: ``Yes.'' \n\nANGEL: \n\n(takes a deep breath) \n\n``Well at least you told me, and you safe with me. Hopefully this can be dealt with.''\n\n LEO: ``How?''\n\n(his voice burns with curiosity) \n\nANGEL: ``I'm going to contact the police. They'll be able to sort things out.''\n\nLEO: ``Thank you. I guess it's really the only way forward.''\n\nAngel takes a mobile phone out from her purse and goes into the kitchen. Leo remains seated on the coach and listens to the faint sound of Angels voice. 15 minutes later the lioness returns to the room. \n\nANGEL: ``Leo, the police would like to know your home address. It's so they can arrest your mother and her boyfriend.''\n\nLeo tells Angel the address of his home, to which she instantly tells the officer on the phone. \n\nANGEL: ``I see. They'll be round in 20 minutes. Ok bye.'' \n\nAngel places her phone into her pocket before she settles herself down on the sofa besides the young wolf. \n\nLEO: ``So, what is happening Miss?''\n\nANGEL: ``Well Leo, some police officers are coming around here to question you about what happened. Another team are making their way to your home, where they can hopefully arrest your carers.''\n\nLEO: ``Oh, right. Thank you.'' \n\nANGEL: ``Your more than welcome little one.'' \n\nAngel then settles herself down on the sofa, next to Leo. \n\nANGEL: ``How are you feeling now honey?''\n\nLEO: ``I feel a bit nervous and still a little shaken, but that aside I'm ok.'' \n\nANGEL: ``Well try not to feel nervous as that'll get you nowhere. You need to be strong and I believe that you can be.'' \n\nShe places her arm around wolf boy as a way of comforting him and wanting to show him that he's safe. Leo smiles slightly. \n\nLEO: ``That really feels good. Could you.... I mean would you be fine with... Hugging me?''\n\nThe lioness smiles before she lifts Leo onto her lap and wraps arms around him. \n\nANGEL: ``Let me guess it's been a long time since you've be hugged or comforted eh?'' \n\nLEO: ``It's been a very long time indeed. Besides mind if I ask you a question?'' \n\nANGEL: ``Ask me anything you want to love.''\n\nLEO: ``What where you doing out, late at night?'' \n\nANGEL: ``I was out for a run sweetheart. I always go out for a run Saturday night as there are usually no other furs around to get in the way. I'm training myself up for the Olympics you see.'' \n\nLEO: ``Fair enough. You don't mind hugging me, do you?''\n\nANGEL: ``I don't mind hugging you at all. Besides, I think you look adorable.''\n\nThe young wolf can't help but grin and blush slightly as the lioness holds him against her warm chest. The two mammals stay embraced until there is a knock at the door. \n\nANGEL: ``Ah, that must be the police. I'll be right back Leo.''\n\nAngel gets up from the sofa and leaves the living room to answer the door. Shortly the feline returns with two police officers. One is a male German shepherd and the other is a female cat with jet black fur.\n\nSHEPHERD: ``Why hello kid, how are you feeling?'' \n\nLEO: ``I'm alright.'' \n\nSHEPHERD: ``Well, that's a start. By the way, I'm officer Barker.''\n\nThe shepherd holds out his paw, which Leo shakes.\n\nFELINE: ``Hi, kid. I'm officer Clark, but your welcome to call me Selena.''\n\nShe also shakes Leo's paw. \n\nBARKER: ``Now, Angel here has told us that your mother and her boyfriend have been abusing you.''\n\nLEO: ``They have been.''\n\nSELENA: ``If able to tell us what they've done, then we can charge them for it. Would you be able to tell us?''\n\nLEO: ``I should be able to.... Where should I begin?''\n\nBARKER: ``I know what, why don't you just focus on and tell us what happened today.''\n\n *********** \n\nINT- Kate's house, kitchen.\n\nThe raven furred she-wolf is livid as she paces round the kitchen holding a kitchen knife, whilst she holds a rag to her bloody eye with her free paw. \n\nKATE: ``I'm going kill that little shit, the moment Charlie drags him in. AHHHH FUCK! FUCK! MY FUCKING EYE!!!''\n\n(she screams in agony) \n\nKate then begins to repletely stab the knife down hard onto the wooden table. \n\nKATE: \n\n(Screaming) \n\n``I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL THAT LITTLE FUCKER!!!''\n\nShe then starts to laugh, and a sadistic grin appears on her muzzle. \n\nKATE: ``No, even better. I'll gouge both his eyes out, so he can't see. Yes, that's what I'll do.'' \n\nKate then hears the front door slamming and Charlie limps in. The Doberman has his paws clamped over his bloody muzzle and he's moaning in pain. \n\nKATE: ``What the hell happened to you? Where is that little shit?''\n\nCharlie omits a loud moan and moves his paws away from his muzzle. Kate gasps in shock as she sees the dobermans lower jaw hanging loose and dislocated. Several of his front teeth are missing. He tries to speak to her, but he fails, before he collapses onto the kitchen floor. \n\nKATE: \n\n(thinks to herself)\n\n``What the fuck is world coming to? Fuck my life.''\n\nRummaging through her jacket pocket, Kate takes out a match box, which contains a joint. She lights it and places it in her muzzle. \n\nKATE:\n\n(thinks to herself)\n\n``This will ease the pain.'' \n\nSoon Kate is in a world of her own, whilst Charlie bleeds out on the floor in a state of unconsciousness. \n\nA whole half an hour passes, which only seems like a few moments for Kate, who is high as a kite. \n\nJust then the front door smashes open and several police officers run in to the kitchen. \n\nKATE: ``WHAT THE FUCKS GOING ON? YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE HEAR! PISS OFF!!''\n\nA police officer, who is a bull approaches the intoxicated she-wolf.\n\nBULL: ``We do have the right to be here, we have a search warrant.'' \n\nKATE: ``Fine whatever! What do you want?''\n\nThe bull lets out a sigh. He always hated having to deal with drug addicts. \n\nBULL: ``You're under arrested for accusation of child abuse and possible drug possession.''\n\nKATE: ``Wait! What?''\n\nWith help from a stallion, the bull clips a pair of handcuffs onto Kate's paws. \n\nKATE:\n\n(screams)\n\n``GET YOUR PAWS OFF ME!! MY SON IS LYING!!! HE'S OUT OF CONTROL!!!''\n\nHowever, Kates screams are ignored as she dragged into the back of a police van. \n\n \n\nBack in the kitchen a chimp and a badger officer tend to Charlie's jaw. \n\nCHIMP: ``Looks like his jaws broken to me. I'll call over some paramedics.'' \n\nBAGER: ``Good idea, he'll defiantly need one. I think I'll call for a search team. I bet you my badge that this place is loaded with drugs.''\n\nLEO: ``That's what happened officer. I just wish that I'd got away from them earlier.''\n\nOFFICER BARKER: ``Well at least your away from them and you've told us. Besides these two canines sound very dangerous to be around.'' \n\nThe Shepherd places a paw reassuringly on Leo's shoulder. \n\nOFFICER BARKER: ``You did a great job telling me kid. We're going to try and sort things out for you.'' \n\nJust then Selena walks into the living room. \n\nSELENA: ``Just in, I've been informed by the search unit that they've intercepted that she-wolf and her boyfriend. I've also been told that they've found plenty of illegal substances and laundered money in the house.''\n\nBARKER: ``Brilliant, that will hopefully have them put away for years.''\n\nLEO: ``Is there anything else you'd like to know officer? There have been other plenty of other times they've thumped me around.''\n\nBARKER: ``I think that will do for tonight lad. We'll talk to you again some time tomorrow. In the meantime, we best find you place for the night.''\n\nSELENA: ``Do you have any relatives that we could contact?'' \n\nLeo slowly shakes his head. \n\nBARKER: ``Never mind son, we'll think of something.''\n\nANGEL: ``I've got idea. Mind if I have a word with you in person officer?''\n\nBARKER: ``Certainly.'' \n\nThe two adults exit the room, leaving Leo with Selena. Leo sits on the sofa in silence. Selena startles him, by resting her paw on his shoulders. \n\nSELENA: ``How are you feeling kid?''\n\nLEO: ``Nervous and tired?''\n\nSELENA: ``I don't blame you''\n\nAfter what seems like a long time, the lioness and the Shepherd enter the living room. \n\nBARKER: ``Leo, I've had a discussion with Angel and she's offering to let you stay at her place for the night.'' \n\nLEO: ``Wow, really? Ah you sure Miss Angel? I don't want to be any trouble for you.''\n\nANGEL: ``Of course I'm sure. Besides there's never any trouble when I'm looking after cubs your age. It's my job as I work part time as a childminder.'' \n\nLEO: ``Then I accept. Thank you very much for this.'' \n\nBARKER: Then that's settled then. We'll see you sometime tomorrow lad. In the meantime, rest up.''\n\nSELENA: ``Good luck kid.''\n\nAs soon as the police have gone, Leo gets up from the sofa and hugs Angel. \n\nLEO: \n\n(whispers)\n\n``Thank you.''\n\nANGEL: ``Your welcome love.'' \n\nThen Leo's stomach lets out a loud growl. \n\nANGEL: ``Hungry little one?'' \n\nThe young wolf nods his head. \n\nANGEL: ``In that case, I'll knock us up a bite to eat.''\n\n *********** \n\nINT- kitchen\n\nTEXT- 20 minutes later\n\nLeo sits on a chair at the kitchen table, whilst Angel heats up a saucepan full of tomato soup on the stove. Leo slowly nibbles on some bread and cheese that Angel has given him as a starter. \n\nANGEL: ``Looks as though your soup is ready Leo''\n\nThe lioness then pours the soup into two china bowls, one for herself and one for Leo before she settles herself down at the table. \n\nANGEL: ``Tuck in, love. It will get your strength up''\n\nLeo takes a sip of the soup from his bowl. He finds the taste so wonderful, that tears come to his eyes. \n\nLEO: This soup is great. It's one of the nicest things I've tasted in my life. \n\nANGEL: ``Your welcome little one. It's homemade. I make a lot of things myself as it's healthier for me and it's usually cheaper than buying processed food.'' \n\nAngel takes a sip from her bowl and smiles at Leo. \n\nANGEL: ``You know, I bet you have a lot of questions on your mind that you'd like to ask me.''\n\nFor a moment the young wolf looks very surprised. \n\nLEO: ``I do, but how did you know? Are you a mind reader?'' \n\nANGEL\n\n(Chuckles to herself)\n\n``Oh, I just guessed''\n\nLEO: ``Ok, what would your sur-name be?''\n\nANGEL: ``My surname is Savannah. I was born in Kenya, but my family moved to England when I was about 5 years old. By the way what species of wolf are you Leo?''\n\nLEO: ``I'm a European Italian wolf.''\n\nANGEL: ``Wow, I had no idea those types of wolf even existed. Have you even been to Italy before?''\n\nLeo takes a swig from his bowl before he answers. \n\nLEO: ``Nope, I haven't been to that country before, however I have been to Paris when I was much younger. I went to Disney land with my mother.... It was before she started drinking and taking drugs.''\n\nANGEL: ``I'm sorry to hear that...''\n\nThe lioness then decides to change the subject. \n\nANGEL: ``Is there any subjects you enjoy at school?'' \n\nLEO: ``I enjoy art class, it's always fun drawing and painting things. History is interesting, and I enjoy writing stories in English class.'' \n\nANGEL: ``That sounds good. Do you enjoy P; E class? When I was your age, I loved football and cross country.'' \n\nLEO: ``It's alright.'' \n\nThe young wolf lets out a small yawn. The lioness notices his tiredness. \n\nANGEL: ``Would you like to go to bed now, sweetheart?''\n\nLeo nods and gets up from his chair. Then to his surprise Angel takes his paw. \n\nANGEL: ``I best show you to your room, honey.''\n\nThe lioness leads Leo up the stairs, along a landing and into a cosy looking guest room. As Leo observers the guest room, he instantly takes a liking to the king-sized bed with lavender sheets, a large mirror and several pictures of landscapes that are hung on the walls.\n\nANGEL: ``What do you think Leo?'' \n\nLEO: ``I think this room looks great. Thank you very, very much for this.''\n\nANGEL: ``Your welcome Love. Would you like me to tuck you in?''\n\nThe young wolf nods before he clambers into bed. Leo positions himself so he's comfortable and the lioness covers him with the blanket. Then to Leo's astonishment, the feline learns forward and kisses him on the check. Leo blushes slightly and faint memories of his mother and grandma kissing him good night, come rushing back to mind. \n\nLEO: ``That felt good. \t\tINT- Leo?s bedroom, night

Leo lays asleep on his bed, with the sheets half covered on his body.

He slowly breathes in and out. In a serene and unconcious state, he

\t\tdreams.

\t\tINT- Dream, Leo?s mind

Leo is an adult in his dream. Fully grown, in bright silvery armour, like a knight, riding on horseback through a forest, blooming with wild flowers and towering trees that reach the skies. Leo?s horse, a white male steed, walks through the forest, with such flawless grace.

The skies are in bloom with the whitest of clouds and the deepest of blue.

Leo hears a slight whisper in the air, like a person?s voice calling his name. He see's from the from a distance, a dark exterior, but also a bright light that shines in between, like an entity of light. The whispers go fainter and fainter, each time, his steed takes a step further.

\t\tLeo pulls on the steed?s reins and off they go, out of the forest, at such a lightning fast pace, towards the light that shines in between the dark surroundings. But as Leo and his steed get closer and closer, the light gets dimmer and dimmer.

\t\tThe skies turn to a dark red and the clouds turn to a dark grey colour. The sound of thunder can be heard and the unsettling odour of rotting flesh and death.

\t\tLeo looks up at the sky as he slowly gets off his steed and pulls from behind his back, a long golden sword. He notices movement up ahead. Some nasty, vicious looking demons spot Leo as they rush towards him and his steed.

\tLeo readies himself for battle as he stands prepared and willing to fight them off.

\t\t\t

\tThe first lunges at him with claws a foot long and it?s jaws opening wide, with teeth gnashing and spewing with a green slimy substance.

Leo swings his sword at the beast, slicing it?s head off the rest of it?s body before it could even attack him.

\tThe others circle Leo and his horse. One makes a move on Leo as it jumps high in the air to pounce on him, but Leo jumps high to and cleaves the demon in half. Its\t entrails and insides fly in the air like tiny flakes of snow.

\tLeo sees the other demons that squeal and flee into the darkness.

\tLeo is about to put his sword away, until suddenly, a rumbling noise is heard, coming from the ground. The grounds upon up beneath where Leo?s stead stands, as a gigantic worm like creature, shoots out and snatches the steed in its many fangs and \tteeth. The horse squirms and yells in pain. Leo looks on in horror. The worm drags \t\tthe steed into the ground, deep into the bowels of the earth. The ground slowly closes. But then from above, a winged creature, hovers over Leo. Leo looks up but is blinded temporarily by a bright light emanating by the creature.

\tFinally, the creature lands to the ground, revealing itself to Leo, as a female demon, with the appearance of a wolf, with six tails, three breasts and two long horns on her head. She stands and laughs loudly and menacingly.

Leo readies himself, as the demon wolf raises her arm and them aims at Leo, firing out a giant fireball, healing swiftly towards Leo.

\t\tHe dodges the fireball by jumping out of its reach.

She fires another one, only bigger, but this time it hits Leo, sending him to the ground with a hard thud.

It weakens him a little. The demon wolf approaches Leo as he lays on the ground.

\t\tShe glares over him and laughs once again.

\t

Suddenly another bright light appears, in front of the demon wolf and knocks her off her feet, with a blast. The light soon emerges before Leo as an entity, a female lion with wings. She slowly kneels down and places her paw on Leo?s head who is still weakened and bewildered. The demon wolf backs away and disappears into the\t\tdarkness. The winged lion smiles and kisses Leo on the forehead. She then spreads her massive angelic wings and covers Leo with them. A bright blue glow emanates from the winged lioness. She finally raises her wings off Leo.

\t\tLeo now appears, not as an adult in armour, but now a naked wolf child.

\tThe lioness picks Leo up gently in her arms and flaps her wings, before taking off into the sky which has now returned to a clear blue and the clouds as white as snow.

Leo holds on tight as the lioness soars into the cloud above. He looks down slightly and sees landscapes and mountains far and wide.

The lioness finally lands with Leo in her arms by a lake. She puts down Leo and takes him by the paw, as they both walk towards the lake and finally enter the cool and settled water.

As soon as Leo?s feet touch the surface, the dream ends, and Leo wakes up. He opens his eyes slowly and looks up at the ceiling, staying still and silent.

SCENE:

\t\tEXT- Daytime, Noon, Saturday

\t\tLeo sits outside the front door of the house, playing on his Gameboy. A car pulls over

\t\toutside the house. A red broken-down Ford Fiesta. Charlie who is roughly dressed as always, comes out and walks towards the gate and spits on the ground.

         The Doberman then approaches Leo.

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:

\t\t                ``Hey, shithead, is your mum home?''

\t\tLeo ignores him and focuses on his game boy screen. Charlie snarls at Leo in frustration. He then grabs the game boy from Leos hands and throws it across the lawn.

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE

\t\t\t\t     ``Go fish, bitch boy.''

\t\tCharlie then storms past Leo and into the hall, yelling.

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:

\t\t\t``Hey, babe! You home? I got the stuff!''

\t\t

\t\tLeo walks over to where his game boy landed, on the stone pavement. The screen is now cracked and buttons broken off laying somewhere near. Leo picks up what's left of it and tries not to cry, but cant control himself. But they are tears of anger.

He runs out past the gate and runs down the road, with a rage inside him, and tears flowing from his eyes.

\t\t\t``That fucking bastard! I?ll get him someday!''

\t\tINT- Leo?s house, Kitchen, afternoon

\t\tCharlie and Kate are sitting on the couch. Kate reaches out her arm with a belt wrapped tightly around it.

\t\t\t``Come on Charlie. I?m waiting.''

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:

\t\t\t``Hold on, baby. I?m almost done.''

\t\tCharlie holds cigarette lighter under a spoon. On the spoon is a powdered substance mixed with a little water. It starts to boil and liquefied. He then puts down the lighter and takes a syringe, filling it up with the liquid. He then takes Kates arm and starts tapping for a vein.

\tHe then slips the needle in and injects Kate with the substance.

\tKate gives out a low sigh and then a sudden gasp as she already feels the stuff kicking in.

\t\t\t\t\tKATE:

\t\t``Oh yeah, that's it. I feel so fucking better already.''

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:

\t\t\t``That's my girl. Slip into Pappa Euphoria''

\t\tAs Kate falls into a state of drug induced psychosis, Charlie moves forward and kisses Kate on the lips constantly while fondling her breasts.

\t\tLeo stands outside a small confectionary shop, waiting on a friend of his, by the name of Sid (a gorilla a few year older than Leo.)

\t\tLeo waits patiently, but couldn't help but noticed that he was being watched from across the street by a stranger. A lioness in very dark clothing stares over at Leo. He notices and looks back over at her. After a few seconds she stops and walks away.

\t\tThen he hears somebody calling his name. It?s Sid running towards him, holding a skateboard under his arm.

Leo nods and follows beside Sid as they head off to the park.

                        SID: ``So how's it been little buddy.''

                          

                         LEO: ``Things have been okay.''

        SID: ``Well you look a bit off. Is there everything troubling you?''

            LEO: ``My mum's been.... She's been busy with work. She barely has time for me.''

                SID: ``Sorry to hear that man....  Hopefully things might get better for ya.  Besides I was wondering if you'd be up a game of smash brothers, next weekend at my place?''

 LEO: ``Sure, I'd love that. I really like your place and family is nice.''

                            

SID: ``Your welcome brother. Now I can't wait to show you my fakie big spin.''

                              

LEO: ``So long as you don't hurt yourself then sure.''

                         ******************

                         EXT- Outside Leo's House, Late Evening, Saturday.

Leo slowly and quietly approaches his house. As he makes his way along the pavement he notices that Charlies car is gone.

LEO:

(Thinks to himself)

``Good damn riddance''

Leo arrives at the front of the house and knocks lightly on the door. Seconds later the door bursts open revealing Kate, who roughly drags him in. The she-wolf looks livid.

KATE:

(Screams)

``WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN?!!?''

LEO: ``I've been at the park, mother.''

KATE: ``THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME BEFORE YOU LEFT!??''

The she-wolf's watery pink eye's blaze with anger and her matted fur and stained clothes smelted of smoke.

LEO: ``You didn't seem interested in me at all earlier and Charlie didn't seem to want me around.''

KATE: ``YOU FUCKING IDIOT! YOUR MEN'T TO TELL ME, BEFORE YOU GO OUT! NOT AFTERWARDS!!''  

LEO:''I'm sorry mother.''

KATE: ``That won't cut it. Go to your room and stay there.''

Leo kicks off his trainers and runs upstairs to his bedroom. He settles himself down on his lumpy bed and lays there in complete silence. Leo has a strong feeling that Kate hasn't finished with her discipline.

Minutes later Kate enters his bedroom, holding a leather belt in her paws. Leo eyes widen with fear at the mire sight of the belt.

KATE: ``Get against the wall, now.''  

LEO: ``Mother, please.''

KATE: ``I SAID NOW! It's the only way you'll learn.''

            

Leo slowly gets up from his bed before he surprises Kate by making a break for the door. Kate roughly grabs Leo by the scruff of his neck.    

\t\t

KATE: ``WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PLAYING AT? Your, not thinking running away, now are you?''

Kate glares down at Leo, whilst he stairs down at the floor.

KATE: ``If where to run away then you'd have nowhere to go. You wouldn't want to end up in an orphanage now, would you?''

LEO: ``You know what, I wouldn't mind living in an orphanage. Anywhere is better than hear.''  

He now glairs back at the she-wolf, who's mouth hangs open in disbelief.  

KATE: ``Don't be stupid boy! You won't find anyone out there who loves you the same way as I do.''

LEO: ``Your full of shit! You don't love me at all! I've had enough of your crap and I'm leaving!''

Kate looks as though she has seen a ghost. She cannot process what her son has just said to her. Free from Kates grasp, Leo exits his bedroom and makes his way along the landing. Suddenly he cries out in in pain as a metal belt buckle smashes into his left shoulder. The sharp buckle tears open Leo's shoulder blade, ripping the sleeve of his shirt and leaving a long thin gash.

Kate then grabs Leo's bloody shoulder with her free paw, digging her claws into his open wound.

KATE:

(screams)

``YOUR NOT LEAVING ME!! YOUR NOT LEAVING!!''

LEO:

(whines in pain)

``Get off me. You don't need me.''

KATE:

(snarls)

``Shut up! You don't get it, do you...... You belong to me! The moment you left my womb, you belonged to me! I haven't finished punishing you yet!''

LEO:

(Yells)

``Get off me!''

Breaking free from the she-wolfs grasp, Leo spins around and scratches Kate in the right eye with his razor-sharp claws. Kate lets out a blood curdling scream as she falls to the floor. She howls with pain on the floor, with a paw clamped over her bloody right eye.

With his opponent down, Leo sprints along the landing and down the stairs into the hall. Just as he's reaching for the door handle, the front door bursts open revealing Charlie. A snarl begins to form on the Dobermans muzzle, as he notices Leo blood stained paw and the gash on his shoulder. Charlie begins to growl at Leo, as he hears Kate sob from upstairs.

CHARLIE: ``What the fuck did you do?''

The Doberman grabs Leo by the front of his shirt and lifts him from the ground.

CHARLIE:

(screams)

``WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO MY MATE!?!''

KATE:

(sobs)

``He's fucking blinded me! That's what he's done!''

The she-wolf now stands at the top of the stairs. Her face and clothes are covered in blood.

CHARLIE: ``You little bastard!''

His grip tightens on Leo's shirt.

KATE:

(screams)

``KILL HIM!! JUST FUCKING KILL HIM!!!''  

Then instinctively, Leo finds himself sinking his teeth into the side of Charlies neck. Everything begins to slow down as Charlie lets out a loud gasp of pain and Kate begins to scream. Leo can taste Charlie's blood in his mouth, but he also begins to feel the Dobermans grip loosening on his shirt. Leo wriggles free and sprints out the house.

KATE:

(screams after Leo)

``GET THE BACK HEAR NOW!!!''

However, Leo continues to spirt on, knowing that there is no turning back. If he were to ever return, then Kate and Charlie would kill him or injure him beyond repair.        

        

\t\t***********************

\t\tEXT- Bus stop, Night, Saturday.

\t\tThe night sky was quite cloudy and dark.

\t\tLeo stands at a bus stop, not waiting for a bus, but just standing there.

\t\tIt felt like a safe place away from home to him.

\t\tHe stood there for almost half an hour. He still stands there, staring into the ongoing traffic.

Suddenly, he feels someone's hands on his shoulder, and then a hard and rough pull, sending him down to the ground. Behind him is Charlie, looking really pissed off. He then pulls Leo up back on his feet and waves a stanley blade up to his neck.

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:

\t``Come with me now, or you?re fucking dead! I?ll do it!''

\tLeo stares down at the blade close to his neck. He shakes with such stricken fear. Charlie takes Leo down an ally way, a few feet from the bus stop. He then pushes Leo down onto the ground in the alley. Leo starts to sob. Charlie gets even more pissed off, now kicking hard at Leo.

\tLeo cowers and whimpers as he?s being brutally kicked by Charlie. He tries to cover himself with his arms and legs, curling up into a ball.

\t\t

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLIE:

``Shut up! Shut the fuck up, you little shit! Your mum sent me to teach you a lesson, and I got the right punishment''.

\t\tHe kneels over Leo and notices his bare feet. A sadistic smile appears on his face. He takes his blade and puts it up to Leo's big toe.

\t\t\t\t\tCHARLE:

\t``Let's see you try to run away without your toes, bitch boy.''

\t\t\t\t\tLEO:

\t\t                         (whimpering louder)

\t\t\t``No, Charlie. Please. Don't cut off my toes.''  

Just as Charlie is about to cut into Leo?s foot, he notices a blueish light behind him and turns his head.  Suddenly a dark figure emanating a dark blue glow stands behind him, wielding a metal object. The dark figure swings the object at Charlie and knocks him down onto the ground, breaking his jaw. He rolls on the ground squealing in pain. Leo looks over at the stranger who steps out of the dark. Badly beaten and weakened, he can only see the blue glow, before falling unconscious.

Leo doesn't remember much apart from being picked up from the ground and carried.

Next, he remembers being placed down on somewhere soft and his clothing being peeled off him.

  

\t\tINT- stranger?s house, living room.

Leo finally awakens and notices that he?s laying down on a couch. The lower half of his body is covered with a blanket.  He looks over and see?s someone tending to his bruises, and cuts, applying plasters, bandages and some cloth. \tHis vision is blurred at first, but after a couple of seconds improves as he can now make out what the person looks like. He sees and realises that it?s the stranger from earlier who stared at him from across the street. Their eyes then meet.

\t\t\t\t\t\tSTRANGER:

\t\t\t\t\t``Ah. Good. You're awake.''

The stranger turns out to be a lioness with honey yellow fur and a cream coloured muzzle and paws. She wears a black vest and jogging bottoms. Around her head she wears a black head band.

\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:

\t``It?s you...from today....and in the alley....That was you in the alley, right?

The lioness smiles and nods and continues to apply another band aid to Leo?s foot.

\t\t\t\t\t\tSTRANGER:

\t\t\t\t``My name is Angel. What?s yours?''

\t\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:

\t\t\t\t\t(Nervously replies)

\t\t\t``My name?s Leonardo. But everyone calls me Leo''.

\t\t\t\t\t\tANGEL:

\t\t\t\t\t        ``Leo? Cute name''

\t\t\t\t\tLeo blushes brightly.

\t\t\t\t\tAngel chuckles a little.

\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:

``I saw you glowing....back in the alley. Are you really an angel?''

\t\t\t

Angel stays silent for a few seconds, before replying with...

Angel: Well maybe. Now keep still honey, I just got to patch up that shoulder of yours.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

Leo: I'm not to old for plasters, am I?

\t\t\t\t\t\tANGEL;

``Child, your never too old for plasters. By the way, how old are you, Leo?''

\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:

\t\t\t\t\t``I?m eleven years old''

\t\t\t\t\t\tANGEL:

\t``Ah. I see. You're probably wonder how old I am, aren't you.''

\t\t\tLeo nods slightly.

\t\t\t\t\t\tANGEL:

\t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t``Guess.''

\t\t\t\t\t\tLEO:

\t\t\t``Ummmm......you look 18.......Are you?''

Angel laughs out loud.  Leo looks more nervous and blushes brighter.

\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\tANGEL:

``Wow. That?s a nice compliment to give to a 33 year old gal like me''

\t\t\tLeo: ``How do you look so young?''

Angel: ``Well it's probably a good diet I have and strict workout routine. Now that your patched up, I best get you some clothes. I can't have you walking around in just that blanket.''

It's then that Leo realises that underneath the blanket he doesn't have clothes on, except from his underwear. His realisation causes him to blush slightly.    

Leo: Oh right. Thank you, Miss Angel.\t

ANGEL: Your welcome child.

The lioness leaves the room, with her tail swishing behind her. Alone, Leo begins to observe the surroundings of the dimly lit room. Several things catch his eye, such as a large shelf clustered with DVDs, several wooden tribal lion masks that hang on the wall and a stone fire place. However, what stood out the most to Leo, was a large gold framed photograph the hung on the wall above the fire place. The photograph consists a group of several lions and lionesses, who stand together in a field. Leo, Spots angel on the far right of the photo next to a slender white furred lioness.  

LEO:

(thinks to himself)

``That must be her family.''    

          \t\t\t

Just then Angel enters the room, holding a baggy white t-shirt and a pair green shorts in her paws.

ANGEL: ``Hear you go, love. These should fit you.''

LEO: ``Thank you miss Angel. By the way, where are my clothes?''

ANGEL: ``There in the wash honey. They are covered in blood and ripped.''

LEO:

(thinks to himself)

``She has a good point there.''

The feline hands Leo the clothes, which he hurriedly puts on. The clothes are loose fitting on his slender frame, but they are still comfortable. Besides Leo rarely gets clean clothes.  

\t\t\t

Angel then settles herself down on the sofa next to Leo. She gives him a reassuring smile.

ANGEL: ``Now that your patched up and you have clothes on your back, how do you feel?''

LEO: ``I feel slightly shaken up, but I'll be fine. Besides I've suffered worse than this before.''

ANGEL: ``Ah, that's always good to know. Anyhow who was that Doberman beating you up down the alleyway....  Do you know him?''

LEO: ``Unfortunately, I do know him, he's my mother's boyfriend. His name is Charlie and he's a right asshole, smacking me around and insulting me every chance he gets.''

ANGEL: ``Oh God. What about your mother?''      

LEO: ``She's even worse. I got that cut on my shoulder thanks to her.''

ANGEL: ``Are they abusing you?''

LEO: ``Yes.''

ANGEL:

(takes a deep breath)

``Well at least you told me, and you safe with me. Hopefully this can be dealt with.''

 LEO: ``How?''

(his voice burns with curiosity)

ANGEL: ``I'm going to contact the police. They'll be able to sort things out.''

LEO: ``Thank you. I guess it's really the only way forward.''

Angel takes a mobile phone out from her purse and goes into the kitchen. Leo remains seated on the coach and listens to the faint sound of Angels voice. 15 minutes later the lioness returns to the room.

ANGEL: ``Leo, the police would like to know your home address. It's so they can arrest your mother and her boyfriend.''

Leo tells Angel the address of his home, to which she instantly tells the officer on the phone.

ANGEL: ``I see. They'll be round in 20 minutes. Ok bye.''

Angel places her phone into her pocket before she settles herself down on the sofa besides the young wolf.

LEO: ``So, what is happening Miss?''

ANGEL: ``Well Leo, some police officers are coming around here to question you about what happened. Another team are making their way to your home, where they can hopefully arrest your carers.''

LEO: ``Oh, right. Thank you.''

ANGEL: ``Your more than welcome little one.''

Angel then settles herself down on the sofa, next to Leo.

ANGEL: ``How are you feeling now honey?''

LEO: ``I feel a bit nervous and still a little shaken, but that aside I'm ok.''

ANGEL: ``Well try not to feel nervous as that'll get you nowhere. You need to be strong and I believe that you can be.''

She places her arm around wolf boy as a way of comforting him and wanting to show him that he's safe. Leo smiles slightly.

LEO: ``That really feels good. Could you.... I mean would you be fine with... Hugging me?''

The lioness smiles before she lifts Leo onto her lap and wraps arms around him.    

ANGEL: ``Let me guess it's been a long time since you've be hugged or comforted eh?''

LEO: ``It's been a very long time indeed. Besides mind if I ask you a question?''

ANGEL: ``Ask me anything you want to love.''

LEO: ``What where you doing out, late at night?''

ANGEL: ``I was out for a run sweetheart. I always go out for a run Saturday night as there are usually no other furs around to get in the way. I'm training myself up for the Olympics you see.''  

LEO: ``Fair enough. You don't mind hugging me, do you?''

ANGEL: ``I don't mind hugging you at all. Besides, I think you look adorable.''

The young wolf can't help but grin and blush slightly as the lioness holds him against her warm chest. The two mammals stay embraced until there is a knock at the door.

ANGEL: ``Ah, that must be the police. I'll be right back Leo.''

Angel gets up from the sofa and leaves the living room to answer the door. Shortly the feline returns with two police officers. One is a male German shepherd and the other is a female cat with jet black fur.

SHEPHERD: ``Why hello kid, how are you feeling?''  

LEO: ``I'm alright.''

SHEPHERD: ``Well, that's a start. By the way, I'm officer Barker.''

The shepherd holds out his paw, which Leo shakes.

FELINE: ``Hi, kid. I'm officer Clark, but your welcome to call me Selena.''

She also shakes Leo's paw.

BARKER: ``Now, Angel here has told us that your mother and her boyfriend have been abusing you.''

LEO: ``They have been.''

SELENA: ``If able to tell us what they've done, then we can charge them for it. Would you be able to tell us?''

LEO: ``I should be able to.... Where should I begin?''

BARKER: ``I know what, why don't you just focus on and tell us what happened today.''

                                                     ***********    

INT- Kate's house, kitchen.

The raven furred she-wolf is livid as she paces round the kitchen holding a kitchen knife, whilst she holds a rag to her bloody eye with her free paw.  

KATE: ``I'm going kill that little shit, the moment Charlie drags him in. AHHHH FUCK! FUCK! MY FUCKING EYE!!!''

(she screams in agony)

Kate then begins to repletely stab the knife down hard onto the wooden table.          

KATE:

(Screaming)

``I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL THAT LITTLE FUCKER!!!''

She then starts to laugh, and a sadistic grin appears on her muzzle.

KATE: ``No, even better. I'll gouge both his eyes out, so he can't see. Yes, that's what I'll do.''  

Kate then hears the front door slamming and Charlie limps in. The Doberman has his paws clamped over his bloody muzzle and he's moaning in pain.  

KATE: ``What the hell happened to you? Where is that little shit?''

Charlie omits a loud moan and moves his paws away from his muzzle. Kate gasps in shock as she sees the dobermans lower jaw hanging loose and dislocated. Several of his front teeth are missing. He tries to speak to her, but he fails, before he collapses onto the kitchen floor.  

KATE:

(thinks to herself)

``What the fuck is world coming to? Fuck my life.''

Rummaging through her jacket pocket, Kate takes out a match box, which contains a joint. She lights it and places it in her muzzle.

KATE:

(thinks to herself)

``This will ease the pain.''

Soon Kate is in a world of her own, whilst Charlie bleeds out on the floor in a state of unconsciousness.

A whole half an hour passes, which only seems like a few moments for Kate, who is high as a kite.

Just then the front door smashes open and several police officers run in to the kitchen.

KATE: ``WHAT THE FUCKS GOING ON? YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE HEAR! PISS OFF!!''

A police officer, who is a bull approaches the intoxicated she-wolf.

BULL: ``We do have the right to be here, we have a search warrant.''

KATE: ``Fine whatever! What do you want?''

The bull lets out a sigh. He always hated having to deal with drug addicts.

BULL: ``You're under arrested for accusation of child abuse and possible drug possession.''

KATE: ``Wait! What?''

With help from a stallion, the bull clips a pair of handcuffs onto Kate's paws.  

KATE:

(screams)

``GET YOUR PAWS OFF ME!! MY SON IS LYING!!! HE'S OUT OF CONTROL!!!''

However, Kates screams are ignored as she dragged into the back of a police van.

  

Back in the kitchen a chimp and a badger officer tend to Charlie's jaw.

CHIMP: ``Looks like his jaws broken to me. I'll call over some paramedics.''

BAGER: ``Good idea, he'll defiantly need one. I think I'll call for a search team. I bet you my badge that this place is loaded with drugs.''

LEO: ``That's what happened officer. I just wish that I'd got away from them earlier.''

OFFICER BARKER: ``Well at least your away from them and you've told us. Besides these two canines sound very dangerous to be around.''    

The Shepherd places a paw reassuringly on Leo's shoulder.

OFFICER BARKER: ``You did a great job telling me kid. We're going to try and sort things out for you.''

Just then Selena walks into the living room.

SELENA: ``Just in, I've been informed by the search unit that they've intercepted that she-wolf and her boyfriend. I've also been told that they've found plenty of illegal substances and laundered money in the house.''

BARKER: ``Brilliant, that will hopefully have them put away for years.''

LEO: ``Is there anything else you'd like to know officer? There have been other plenty of other times they've thumped me around.''

BARKER: ``I think that will do for tonight lad. We'll talk to you again some time tomorrow. In the meantime, we best find you place for the night.''

SELENA: ``Do you have any relatives that we could contact?''

Leo slowly shakes his head.

BARKER: ``Never mind son, we'll think of something.''

ANGEL: ``I've got idea. Mind if I have a word with you in person officer?''

BARKER: ``Certainly.''

The two adults exit the room, leaving Leo with Selena. Leo sits on the sofa in silence. Selena startles him, by resting her paw on his shoulders.

SELENA: ``How are you feeling kid?''

LEO: ``Nervous and tired?''

SELENA: ``I don't blame you''

After what seems like a long time, the lioness and the Shepherd enter the living room.

BARKER: ``Leo, I've had a discussion with Angel and she's offering to let you stay at her place for the night.''

LEO: ``Wow, really? Ah you sure Miss Angel? I don't want to be any trouble for you.''

ANGEL: ``Of course I'm sure. Besides there's never any trouble when I'm looking after cubs your age. It's my job as I work part time as a childminder.''    

LEO: ``Then I accept. Thank you very much for this.''

BARKER: Then that's settled then. We'll see you sometime tomorrow lad. In the meantime, rest up.''

SELENA: ``Good luck kid.''

As soon as the police have gone, Leo gets up from the sofa and hugs Angel.

LEO:

(whispers)

``Thank you.''

ANGEL: ``Your welcome love.''          

Then Leo's stomach lets out a loud growl.

ANGEL: ``Hungry little one?''    

The young wolf nods his head.  

ANGEL: ``In that case, I'll knock us up a bite to eat.''

                             ***********  

INT- kitchen

TEXT- 20 minutes later

Leo sits on a chair at the kitchen table, whilst Angel heats up a saucepan full of tomato soup on the stove. Leo slowly nibbles on some bread and cheese that Angel has given him as a starter.

ANGEL: ``Looks as though your soup is ready Leo''

The lioness then pours the soup into two china bowls, one for herself and one for Leo before she settles herself down at the table.

ANGEL: ``Tuck in, love. It will get your strength up''

Leo takes a sip of the soup from his bowl. He finds the taste so wonderful, that tears come to his eyes.

LEO: This soup is great. It's one of the nicest things I've tasted in my life.  

ANGEL: ``Your welcome little one. It's homemade. I make a lot of things myself as it's healthier for me and it's usually cheaper than buying processed food.''

Angel takes a sip from her bowl and smiles at Leo.

ANGEL: ``You know, I bet you have a lot of questions on your mind that you'd like to ask me.''

For a moment the young wolf looks very surprised.

LEO: ``I do, but how did you know? Are you a mind reader?''  

ANGEL

(Chuckles to herself)

``Oh, I just guessed''

LEO: ``Ok, what would your sur-name be?''

ANGEL: ``My surname is Savannah. What would yours be?''

LEO: ``Oh, my surnames Lupine.''

ANGEL: ``That's a cute surname.''

LEO: ``Have you ever been to Africa before?''

ANGEL: ``Quite a few times. I was born in Kenya, but my family moved to England when I was about 5 years old. By the way what species of wolf are you Leo?''

LEO: ``I'm a European Italian wolf.''

ANGEL: ``Wow, I had no idea those types of wolf even existed. Have you even been to Italy before?''

Leo takes a swig from his bowl before he answers.

LEO: ``Nope, I haven't been to that country before, however I have been to Paris when I was much younger. I went to Disney land with my mother....  It was before she started drinking and taking drugs.''

ANGEL: ``I'm sorry to hear that...''

The lioness then decides to change the subject.

ANGEL: ``Is there any subjects you enjoy at school?''

LEO: ``I enjoy art class, it's always fun drawing and painting things. History is interesting, and I enjoy writing stories in English class.''

ANGEL: ``That sounds good. Do you enjoy P; E class? When I was your age, I loved football and cross country.''                

LEO: ``It's alright.''        

The young wolf lets out a small yawn. The lioness notices his tiredness.

ANGEL: ``Would you like to go to bed now, sweetheart?''

Leo nods and gets up from his chair. Then to his surprise Angel takes his paw.

ANGEL: ``I best show you to your room, honey.''

The lioness leads Leo up the stairs, along a landing and into a cosy looking guest room. As Leo observers the guest room, he instantly takes a liking to the king-sized bed with lavender sheets, a large mirror and several pictures of landscapes that are hung on the walls.

ANGEL: ``What do you think Leo?''

LEO: ``I think this room looks great. Thank you very, very much for this.''

ANGEL: ``Your welcome Love. Would you like me to tuck you in?''

The young wolf nods before he clambers into bed. Leo positions himself so he's comfortable and the lioness covers him with the blanket. Then to Leo's astonishment, the feline learns forward and kisses him on the check. Leo blushes slightly and faint memories of his mother and grandma kissing him good night, come rushing back to mind.

LEO: ``That felt good. Could you kiss me again please?''

ANGEL: ``Of course child.''

She kisses Leo on his fore head before switching off the light, dimming the room.

ANGEL: ``Goodnight Leo, sleep well.''

As Angel leaves the room, closing the door behind her, which fills the room with empty and calming darkness.

LEO:

(thinks to himself)

``Maybe, things will get better.''

Leo then remembers nothing as he has fallen asleep.
