"writing": "Bran\nA Trip into Town\n\n\tA few days had passed uneventfully aside from the occasional herding with news from Hikum Farm having its fair share of troubles as well. Wolves had attacked some of the sheep and Sventon, a friend of Brans’ had warned of some misadventures of his own in dealing with the attack. \n\t\n Unfortunately Bran’s family hadn’t been as forgiving of the chicken that Sestria had killed, with them berating him for allowing it to happen at all. \n\t\nMuch as he hated to admit it, he knew that in some ways they were right. \n\t\nHe should’ve been able to stop Sestria and run her off, maybe even catch her and present his family with the fox and then let them deal with her. Maybe that would’ve solved everything and he wouldn’t have to remain on his guard at all times which had begun to wear on him.\n\n\tUsually more social, the following few days saw him slinking round the edges of daily life and avoiding most contact with the other animals, in particular any of the other canines. They would no doubt have questions as to what had happened, why he hadn’t succeeded in stopping the fox, why he’d somehow allowed her to escape and so on….\n\n\tThey were questions he wasn’t sure he wanted to answer although they lived in his mind and played again and again on a loop worrying him. \n\n\tThere was a part of him that wanted to put an end to it and go hunting, scouring the woods for any sign of Sestria until he found and captured her, showing no mercy. And then there was the other part that he wasn’t sure of. \n\n\tIn passing Bran had chatted with Sventon as well as the others and while he enjoyed their banter as usual he couldn’t help feeling impressed that Sventon had come face to face with a grizzly bear, and how it also came to light how he had chased off wolves. \n\n\t‘And to think, I was foiled and tricked by one singular fox…great ranch dog I turned out to be.’\n\nHe had nothing to really offer half as impressive as the others did even though when it came to it word had spread about the chicken house incident. As much as was possible he tended to avoid conversation going that direction, instead being extra attentive and listening to the others stories, though some of them he could tell were embellishments.\n\nIt was at one of these evening gatherings that he made up his mind that he needed a change of scenery and could use some time away, somehow. Maybe someplace where he could take some time to let things cool down though he still wasn’t sure that he could let himself slip too much, in case the fox used the opportunity to strike again. Maybe a stroll to another farm or ranch would be just what he needed to clear his head though he also didn’t want to draw too much attention. After all there was a chance that he would be able to sneak somewhere else though there was always a chance that fellow ranchers would wonder why he’d strayed and give a call to his humans. Then he’d be seen not only as a dog who couldn’t guard and protect livestock but also as a runaway which wouldn’t do.\n\nHe waited and stewed until one day he was watching, carefully hidden away towards corrals when one of the older trucks driven by one of his humans came up one side of the dirt road, wheels churning and engine guzzling up quite a racket that bounced through his ears almost as much as the vehicle bounced unsteadily along the road. \nHeart racing, it came to him in an instant; a ride into town!\n\n\nMaking up his mind was relatively easy as he lopped along, paws cool and stabbed along familiar blades of grass. He lingered nearby, judging the speed of the vehicle along with how attentive the driver was of their surroundings, not wanting to get caught. Then right at a sharp turn North West in the road he bounded through the fence, slunk up behind the truck holding his breath so as not to take in any fumes or dust and leapt high into the air, slamming into the tailgate with a ‘thunk!’ before using his fores hooked over it, to scramble, find his bearing and then fall into the flatbed of the pinup in a huff.\n\n\tUnfortunately for him he had been a bit too eager and upon clearing the tailgate he managed unceremoniously to slam his snout into a bag of feed, sending stars circling and dancing before his eyes. Giving himself a shake he took stock, settling down and lying low, the slightly coppery odor of metallic blood entering his nostrils. His nose was bleeding a bit but otherwise he had been able to make it without being noticed, one of his humans who drove not giving any indication of having noticed or bringing the truck to a stop. \n\nHe had succeeded and was on his way into town!\n\nAbove the sky was blue and clear of many clouds, the few that were there were thin wisps of pulled cotton over a sea of pristine sunshine. The grumbling sound of the engine rolling along, the clip of gravel and the breeze as they drove along created a relaxing combination of noise that soothed him even given the sting along his nose still throbbed. As they went on he was however able to ignore it, and doze off into dreams~\n\nA swish of fur, burnished, bristled, yet soft and sheened, glistening and warm and heated. Light deft lithe weight between his fores and underneath his belly, keeping him warm, a bushy tail..\n\n\tTwo very golden green eyes, sultry, lust filled, eager and coy, as if daring him to dive into them, then something small but very velvety pressing along his middle, wet and welcoming as a thin elegantly slender muzzle touched its nose to his causing him to growl in uncertain hesitation and then in startled surprise as they inched forward and she kissed him, the smell of mottled leaf mold, birch trees, earth and vixen living and making their home in his nostrils as she swept him away into-\n\n-banging his head hard against the inner body of the truck. With a half awake yelp he came to, painfully made aware of his surroundings and dragged roughly from the soft and welcoming confines of his dreaming. \n\n\tThe feelings stirring were still there, swimming and mixed much like his vision was as he flicked his ears and tried to remain focused. What was wrong with him? Having dreams about Sestria after what she’d done and after getting him into trouble was out of the question, it was unexpected and something he’d never hear the end of should it ever be something he explored further. \n\n\tYet even as he started to wake up, the hint of her scent still lingered in his nose and sent a shiver down his spine as he gave himself a stretch and tried to shake the weariness from his limbs. \n\n\t“Welp Lester, looks like the doggy has finally woken up after his long ride” came a whiny voice. “ Oh what fun it is to ride!” \n\n“Right you are Loam! He be blinketty blinking his eye lids and is finally awake, oh what a guy!” \n\n\tNose twitching Bran’s eyes were drawn to two cats, one black tuxedo and the other a siamese, perched along the top of the tailgate. Both had certainly seen better days though they seemed to be bemusedly going through life. Both smelled as though they’d been at an open fish market for 10 years day in and day out and the reek made him slightly blanch as he sat up a bit, noticing for the first time that his master’s rig was parked outside of some sort of cafe. Next to the others it looked somewhat out of place, the light blue chipped paint stark contrast to the newer reds and golds and subtle black vehicles, alongside the fact that it was quite a bit more dated. \n\n\t“Y…yeah just woke up” he growled, flicking his ears and swinging his attention back to the two felines. “Was an enjoyable ride and I kinda lost track of time.”\n\n“I guess that’s a good thing doggy” the tuxedo cat meowed. “Lester here was wondering if you would wake up before we were able to get closer…”\n\n\t“And Loam” the siamese nodded back at his friend, keeping his eyes trained on Bran “was thinking that you wouldn’t wake up before we did…” \n\n\tBran cocked his head to one side quizzically. \n\n\t“And….what would’ve happened if I hadn’t before you both ‘got closer’?”\n\n\n“Well we were both thinking it would’ve been hilarious to claw your face and butt at the same time and be front row to how much of a fright we could give you! Wouldn’t that have been fun!?”\nBoth of them licked their chops and smiled in a way that made the fur along Bran’s spine prickle in distaste. \n\n\t“I don’t think so.” \n\n“I don’t think so” Lester mimicked him in a mock whiney mew. \n\n“Well but of course you wouldn’t puppy dog! It’d be for our entertainment” Loam said, lashing his tail over his forepaws.\n\n“The names’ Bran and~\n\n“Your name doesn’t matter to us pup” Lester cut him off striking a claw along the lip of the truck with an audible scraping sound that gave him pause. \n\nA low growl rumbled in his throat though he attempted to push it back down into his stomach and remain calm. \n\n\t“Look I’ll be out of here soon if I’m for some reason bothering you~”\n\n“Ya’know it doesn’t matter what you think, because we think it’s fun to put all dogs in their place which should always be the case! And…..I’ll bet doing this” Loam cooed before slightly leaning down and slicing a claw through one of the bags of feed, “will raise some questions as to what kind of a worthless dog you actually are!”\nIt didn’t really take much more than that unfortunately. \n\n\tLoam had opened the bag at just the perfect angle where it had and would continue to pour feed out and make a mess. \n\n\tFor the second time that afternoon Bran saw red and before he knew it he lunged at the two fleabags in an attempt to bite them both only just missing them both, his head hitting and knocking the tailgate down and open, further spilling feed to the gravel and dirt below. He didn’t think twice and bounded down the street, giving chase to both, who flew before him, two annoying streaks of fur just barely out of his reach.\nHeedless he continued to give chase accidentally knocking over a couple strolling along, bumping into a vegetable stand and sending food flying all over and earning yells of consternation behind him. \n\n\tThey leapt down an alley and he nearly had one of them by the tail as they turned a corned, his jaws snapping on nothing but thin air only inches away and close enough to smell Loams’ mixture of smug amusement and Lesters’ fear and surprise at him managing to remain as close behind them as he was.\nThey went on and his legs burned even though he was determined to make them pay! Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew he probably should stop and find his bearings, or perhaps better plan out some sort of trick but he continued on as they neared an old wooden bridge, hyper fixed on darting forward and sinking his teeth in for sweetest revenge….when for the second time in as many days he was hit, though this time was accompanied by a flash of blond tawny fur and towering muscles from his peripheral vision. Unlike before he remained in the world, his head spinning and a throbbing ache spearing through his entire body, resounding through his blood stream as if he’d been hit by a freight train. \n\n\tHe lay on his back, the worst place of defense there could be and in some fear he tried to wriggle free. He was held firmly. \n\nGrowling he tried more adamantly which earned him a return growl, low and threatening and an enormous paw along his throat that pushed his head closer to the edge of the bank and towards the quiet old water resting there. It was no use although he couldn’t open his jaws to say anything even though he continued to struggle a bit more. \nMaybe if I pretend and play dead~\n\n“Well lookie what we have here! An entitled mutt who’s wandered away from his humans…”\nThe voice was low and rumbling even though it carried a lilting air to it that chilled him, his nostrils filling with the scent of street dog and more than just the one. \n\nHe let his nose work and caught a heavy whiff of Great Dane, as the large paw along his throat and the underside of his jaw pushed down hard and he gasped out trying to claw fruitlessly to get free. \n\n“Why don’t we show this pampered puppy what happens when his kind stray farther away from home then they should eh boys?” \n\nGrumbles of assent, then growls and then teeth on every side….\n\nHe had thought that he had been in deep trouble before. Now his hackles remained standing along his spine and his blood ran cold, his mind racing, trying to think of a way out as the first set of jaws locked around one of his hind legs sending a spike of agony through him and drawing a weak groan from his pressured throat. \n\nHe had to get back to his human and the ranch and the truck! But how? \n\nAnother bit from overly large jaws and his mind skipped into fight or flight mode, erasing all thoughts and repeatedly putting him back at square one. \n\nHe bucked and got a face full of that large paw, clubbing him hard enough to draw tears to his eyes. Bran wasn’t able to move or shift or do much of anything, and as the dogs closed in he prayed that someone would take notice, that someone would save him or provide some distraction….\nHe waited and waited….and waited~\n",
"writing_bbcode_parsed": "<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'><div class='align_right'><strong>Bran<br />A Trip into Town</strong></div><br /><br />\tA few days had passed uneventfully aside from the occasional herding with news from Hikum Farm having its fair share of troubles as well. Wolves had attacked some of the sheep and Sventon, a friend of Brans&rsquo; had warned of some misadventures of his own in dealing with the attack. <br />\t<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Unfortunately Bran&rsquo;s family hadn&rsquo;t been as forgiving of the chicken that Sestria had killed, with them berating him for allowing it to happen at all. <br />\t<br />Much as he hated to admit it, he knew that in some ways they were right. <br />\t<br />He should&rsquo;ve been able to stop Sestria and run her off, maybe even catch her and present his family with the fox and then let them deal with her. Maybe that would&rsquo;ve solved everything and he wouldn&rsquo;t have to remain on his guard at all times which had begun to wear on him.<br /><br />\tUsually more social, the following few days saw him slinking round the edges of daily life and avoiding most contact with the other animals, in particular any of the other canines. They would no doubt have questions as to what had happened, why he hadn&rsquo;t succeeded in stopping the fox, why he&rsquo;d somehow allowed her to escape and so on&hellip;.<br /><br />\tThey were questions he wasn&rsquo;t sure he wanted to answer although they lived in his mind and played again and again on a loop worrying him. <br /><br />\tThere was a part of him that wanted to put an end to it and go hunting, scouring the woods for any sign of Sestria until he found and captured her, showing no mercy. And then there was the other part that he wasn&rsquo;t sure of. <br /><br />\tIn passing Bran had chatted with Sventon as well as the others and while he enjoyed their banter as usual he couldn&rsquo;t help feeling impressed that Sventon had come face to face with a grizzly bear, and how it also came to light how he had chased off wolves. <br /><br />\t&lsquo;And to think, I was foiled and tricked by one singular fox&hellip;great ranch dog I turned out to be.&rsquo;<br /><br />He had nothing to really offer half as impressive as the others did even though when it came to it word had spread about the chicken house incident. As much as was possible he tended to avoid conversation going that direction, instead being extra attentive and listening to the others stories, though some of them he could tell were embellishments.<br /><br />It was at one of these evening gatherings that he made up his mind that he needed a change of scenery and could use some time away, somehow. Maybe someplace where he could take some time to let things cool down though he still wasn&rsquo;t sure that he could let himself slip too much, in case the fox used the opportunity to strike again. Maybe a stroll to another farm or ranch would be just what he needed to clear his head though he also didn&rsquo;t want to draw too much attention. After all there was a chance that he would be able to sneak somewhere else though there was always a chance that fellow ranchers would wonder why he&rsquo;d strayed and give a call to his humans. Then he&rsquo;d be seen not only as a dog who couldn&rsquo;t guard and protect livestock but also as a runaway which wouldn&rsquo;t do.<br /><br />He waited and stewed until one day he was watching, carefully hidden away towards corrals when one of the older trucks driven by one of his humans came up one side of the dirt road, wheels churning and engine guzzling up quite a racket that bounced through his ears almost as much as the vehicle bounced unsteadily along the road. <br />Heart racing, it came to him in an instant; a ride into town!<br /><br /><br />Making up his mind was relatively easy as he lopped along, paws cool and stabbed along familiar blades of grass. He lingered nearby, judging the speed of the vehicle along with how attentive the driver was of their surroundings, not wanting to get caught. Then right at a sharp turn North West in the road he bounded through the fence, slunk up behind the truck holding his breath so as not to take in any fumes or dust and leapt high into the air, slamming into the tailgate with a &lsquo;thunk!&rsquo; before using his fores hooked over it, to scramble, find his bearing and then fall into the flatbed of the pinup in a huff.<br /><br />\tUnfortunately for him he had been a bit too eager and upon clearing the tailgate he managed unceremoniously to slam his snout into a bag of feed, sending stars circling and dancing before his eyes. <br /><br />He had succeeded and was on his way into town!<br /><br />Above the sky was blue and clear of many clouds, the few that were there were thin wisps of pulled cotton over a sea of pristine sunshine. The grumbling sound of the engine rolling along, the clip of gravel and the breeze as they drove along created a relaxing combination of noise that soothed him even given the sting along his nose still throbbed. As they went on he was however able to ignore it, and doze off into dreams~<br /><br />A swish of fur, burnished, bristled, yet soft and sheened, glistening and warm and heated. Light deft lithe weight between his fores and underneath his belly, keeping him warm, a bushy tail..<br /><br />\tTwo very golden green eyes, sultry, lust filled, eager and coy, as if daring him to dive into them, then something small but very velvety pressing along his middle, wet and welcoming as a thin elegantly slender muzzle touched its nose to his causing him to growl in uncertain hesitation and then in startled surprise as they inched forward and she kissed him, the smell of mottled leaf mold, birch trees, earth and vixen living and making their home in his nostrils as she swept him away into-<br /><br />-banging his head hard against the inner body of the truck. With a half awake yelp he came to, painfully made aware of his surroundings and dragged roughly from the soft and welcoming confines of his dreaming. <br /><br />\tThe feelings stirring were still there, swimming and mixed much like his vision was as he flicked his ears and tried to remain focused. What was wrong with him? Having dreams about Sestria after what she&rsquo;d done and after getting him into trouble was out of the question, it was unexpected and something he&rsquo;d never hear the end of should it ever be something he explored further. <br /><br />\tYet even as he started to wake up, the hint of her scent still lingered in his nose and sent a shiver down his spine as he gave himself a stretch and tried to shake the weariness from his limbs. <br /><br />\t&ldquo;Welp Lester, looks like the doggy has finally woken up after his long ride&rdquo; came a whiny voice. &ldquo; Oh what fun it is to ride!&rdquo; <br /><br />&ldquo;Right you are Loam! He be blinketty blinking his eye lids and is finally awake, oh what a guy!&rdquo; <br /><br />\tNose twitching Bran&rsquo;s eyes were drawn to two cats, one black tuxedo and the other a siamese, perched along the top of the tailgate. Both had certainly seen better days though they seemed to be bemusedly going through life. Both smelled as though they&rsquo;d been at an open fish market for 10 years day in and day out and the reek made him slightly blanch as he sat up a bit, noticing for the first time that his master&rsquo;s rig was parked outside of some sort of cafe. Next to the others it looked somewhat out of place, the light blue chipped paint stark contrast to the newer reds and golds and subtle black vehicles, alongside the fact that it was quite a bit more dated. <br /><br />\t&ldquo;Y&hellip;yeah just woke up&rdquo; he growled, flicking his ears and swinging his attention back to the two felines. &ldquo; Was an enjoyable ride and I kinda lost track of time.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I guess that&rsquo;s a good thing doggy&rdquo; the tuxedo cat meowed. &ldquo;Lester here was wondering if you would wake up before we were able to get closer&hellip;&rdquo;<br /><br />\t&ldquo;And Loam&rdquo; the siamese nodded back at his friend, keeping his eyes trained on Bran &ldquo;was thinking that you wouldn&rsquo;t wake up before we did&hellip;&rdquo; <br /><br />\tBran cocked his head to one side quizzically. <br /><br />\t&ldquo;And&hellip;.what would&rsquo;ve happened if I hadn&rsquo;t before you both &lsquo;got closer&rsquo;?&rdquo;<br /><br /><br />&ldquo;Well we were both thinking it would&rsquo;ve been hilarious to claw your face and butt at the same time and be front row to how much of a fright we could give you! Wouldn&rsquo;t that have been fun!?&rdquo;<br />Both of them licked their chops and smiled in a way that made the fur along Bran&rsquo;s spine prickle in distaste. <br /><br />\t&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t think so.&rdquo; <br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t think so&rdquo; Lester mimicked him in a mock whiney mew. <br /><br />&ldquo;Well but of course you wouldn&rsquo;t puppy dog! It&rsquo;d be for our entertainment&rdquo; Loam said, lashing his tail over his forepaws.<br /><br />&ldquo;The names&rsquo; Bran and~<br /><br />&ldquo;Your name doesn&rsquo;t matter to us pup&rdquo; Lester cut him off striking a claw along the lip of the truck with an audible scraping sound that gave him pause. <br /><br />A low growl rumbled in his throat though he attempted to push it back down into his stomach and remain calm. <br /><br />\t&ldquo;Look I&rsquo;ll be out of here soon if I&rsquo;m for some reason bothering you~&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Ya&rsquo;know it doesn&rsquo;t matter what you think, because we think it&rsquo;s fun to put all dogs in their place which should always be the case! And&hellip;..I&rsquo;ll bet doing this&rdquo; Loam cooed before slightly leaning down and slicing a claw through one of the bags of feed, &ldquo;will raise some questions as to what kind of a worthless dog you actually are!&rdquo;<br />It didn&rsquo;t really take much more than that unfortunately. <br /><br />\tLoam had opened the bag at just the perfect angle where it had and would continue to pour feed out and make a mess. <br /><br />\tFor the second time that afternoon Bran saw red and before he knew it he lunged at the two fleabags in an attempt to bite them both only just missing them both, his head hitting and knocking the tailgate down and open, further spilling feed to the gravel and dirt below.
