"W-well... I took a few classes and read up on it. I think I know the basics of it."

Kira opens her eyes wide and grabs a part of Sonic's chest with her hand.

"BASICS?! BUT THIS IS THE REAL THING, YOU IDIOT!!"

Sonic gulps and puts his hands up in defeat. 

"D-d-don't worry, it'll be fine! T-trust me!"

The young male gasps as Kira lets go of his chest. He shakes his head and quickly stands up before going back to her aid.

Sonic remains by Kira's side throughout the birth, constantly checking for the head of the baby. 

Around 2 hours later, Sonic checks Kira's birth canal and notices the baby's head close to her entrance. He wags his tail and smiles up at Kira.

"Kira, I can see the head! Just a few more pushes..."

Sonic gently places his hands on Kira's knees as she continues to push. She screams out and whimpers as the baby gets closer to the entrance. 

"S-Sonic... I... I can't... do it!"

The young male looks up at her and gently rubs her legs with his hands, seeing that she was starting to tear up from the pain. 

"Yes you can, honey... I believe in you! Our little miracle is almost here!"

Kira looks down and smiles weakly at Sonic before once again screaming out from the pain. She pushes hard and Sonic watches as the baby starts to emerge.

The young male notices the baby get close and takes off his gloves before holding out his hands with a blanket draped over them.

"You're almost there, just a couple more pushes!"

Kira lowers her ears and grits her teeth, clenching the bed cover with her hands.

"I CAN'T, IT HURTS SO MUCH!!" 

"You can do it, babe! You're so close!"

"BUT, I'M SCARED!!"

Sonic notices Kira stop pushing and crying her eyes out. He watches as Kira's body shakes all over from the intense pain and runs back to her, gently holding her close.

"You can't give up now, sweetie... you're really close. I know it hurts but I promise I'll be right here to help you through this."

He kisses her cheek and moves back to the lower end of the bed before kneeling down in front of her lower body, awaiting the baby's arrival. 

A few minutes after the hedgehogs' embrace, Kira feels her entrance getting looser as more of the baby's body starts to emerge.

"One more push!!"

Kira groans and screams out as she performs the final push. Sonic carefully guides the baby out with his hands and smiles as a loud cry is heard, echoing throughout the room.

"You did it honey, you did it!"

The young female smiles weakly and feels tears come to her eyes as she hears the cry of her and Sonic's newborn baby. She slowly reaches her hand out and shakily points to the baby.

"O-our... l-little... angel."

The young male wags his tail as he looks down at his newborn baby. He looks to the table on the side of their bed and picks up a pair of scissors. He gently cuts the umbilical cord with them before putting them back down.

The little hedgehoglet cries out, kicking it's feet, impatiently. Sonic chuckles softly from the baby's kicking and proceeds to gently wrap the hedgehoglet in a blanket before giving him/her a kiss on the forehead. 

"You sure have a lot of spunk, little one..."

Kira giggles and watches as her boyfriend slowly picks up the tiny newborn, making sure to support his/her head with his hand. 

Sonic stands up slowly and walks over to a changing table before gently laying the hedgehoglet onto the changing mat and unwrapping the blankets surrounding the little bundle of joy.  

The little hedgehoglet cries out for his/her mother and father in a familiar chirping sound. <i>(This chirping sound is the sound that hedgehogs make in order to communicate with one another.)</i>

The blue blur recognises the sound and chirps back to the baby by instinct, letting him/her know that there was no need to be afraid. He softly whispers to the hedgehoglet. 

"I'm your daddy, little one and I won't hurt you..."

The baby chirps back in a quieter tone, feeling more at ease with the company that he/she is in. After hearing the quieter tone, Sonic slowly moves closer to the baby and gently starts to groom his/her muzzle with his tongue.

The baby soon whimpers and starts to shiver from the cold air around it. Sonic notices the hedgehoglet shiver and gently wraps his arms around him/her to keep them warm.  

"H-Honey?"

The blue blur raises his head slightly, smiling towards his girlfriend. He whispers in a soft voice.

"Yeah, babe?"

Kira smiles by Sonic's fatherly nurturing of their baby and slowly points to the baby. 

"D-do we have a little... Kazumi... or a little... Samuel?"

Sonic soon blushes a light pink as he realises what he has to do next. He knew that there was only one way to identify the baby's gender but it wouldn't be an easy task to perform.

The little hedgehoglet makes a soft cooing sound as he/she gently wraps his/her fingers around Sonic's nose. Sonic chuckles and gently kisses the baby's cheek before slowly pulling his nose away and kneeling down in front of the changing table.

"Honey, I think our little one thinks that my nose is a toy."

Kira giggles and slowly leans backwards, sighing contently as she starts to relax.

Soon the little baby reaches it's arms out and whimpers, no longer being able to feel Sonic's nose.
 He/she starts to cry once again, but with a much softer tone. Sonic gently runs a finger along the baby's cheek before gently opening the baby's legs.

"Shhhh... papa's here, little one. I'm just seeing what gender you are..."


The blue blur curiously looks around the newborn's lower region and soon smiles as he notices a little penis between the little newborn's legs.

"I think we have a little Samuel, honey."

Kira smiles widely and wags her tail.

"Ohh honey... a little boy."

"He's a beautiful little boy, babe..."

Sonic smiles as he starts to put a diaper on the newborn. The newborn kicks his feet as the blue blur attempts to diaper him up. Sonic chuckles softly.

"Now now son... you're not making this any easier for papa."

The blue blur continues to try and change his son but is soon rudely interrupted by his bladder. Sonic yelps as the little hedgehoglet starts to urinate onto the changing mat, near Sonic's hand.

"Yikes! You almost hit papa with that, little guy!"

Kira looks over and giggles as she watches Sonic frantically grab a blanket and cover up his son's penis.

"Eheh... DEFINITELY a boy."

Kira giggles again and watches as Sonic continues to change his son.

The blue blur soon finishes changing his son's diaper and gently wraps the blanket back around him before picking him up and cuddling him close to his chest. He smiles and carries the little bundle over to Kira.

"Sorry for the delay, babe... little mister needed a diaper on, pronto!"

The blue blur gently hands his son to Kira. The young female smiles widely and grits her teeth, a few tears of joy running down her cheek.

"Oh sweetie... he's so... tiny."

The little hedgehoglet soon lowers his ears and starts to cry out loud, feeling a strong hunger vibe in his stomach. Kira gently rocks the little boy in her arms as Sonic kneels down beside his girlfriend and gently runs a finger across his little boy's cheek.

"Shh... mama's here, my little angel."

Kira gently kisses her little boy's head as she cuddles him close to her chest. Sonic leans against the side of the bed and watches as their son starts to try and feed off Kira's breast.

The young female looks down and giggles, sensing that their little boy was hungry. She blushes a little as she starts to pull up her shirt. Sonic helps to lift Kira's bra and chuckles as their son starts to 'search' for his mother's milk. 

The little boy whimpers as he gets lost. Kira lowers her ears and looks up at Sonic.

"I don't think he can find my milk, sweetie..."

Sonic lowers his ears but soon attempts to help him out by gently pushing him closer to Kira's breast. Kira soon looks down and sighs in relief as she feels the little hedgehoglet suckling off her nipple.

"You've done so well, babe..."

The blue blur gently kisses Kira's lips before pulling away and bringing her into a gentle embrace. Kira looks up at her boyfriend and smiles.

"I... I couldn't have done it... without you, sweetie."

Sonic wags his tail and kisses Kira's cheek before looking down at their newborn. 

The little hedgehoglet continues to suckle off his mother's breast as Sonic rubs his hand against the little hedgehoglet's muzzle. The little hedgehoglet squeaks and stops feeding off Kira, feeling full.

Kira smiles and gently starts to rub his back. The little hedgehoglet coughs a little before letting out a small burp. His parents chuckle from his little burp and both kiss his muzzle. 

"Now that was a burp! Way to go, little buddy!"

The tiny hedgehoglet gurgles and turns to face his parents. The pair look down, seeing their child's colours for the first time. 

The little male's fur was a darker shade of his father's blue named federal blue. He had three tiny tufts of hair between his ears which had little dark purple ends. He also had three tiny quills, which were in the same style as his father's.

The pair marvelled at their newborn's colours and watched in amazement as the little hedgehoglet slowly starts to open his eyes. The little male opens his eyes around halfway and looks up to see a pair of emerald and sapphire-coloured eyes smiling down at him.

"Oh sweetheart, he looks just like you..."

Sonic gently rubs his son's ear and watches as the little hedgehoglet stares up at him with his sapphire-coloured eyes.

"He sure does... but he has your beautiful eyes, honey."

The tiny hedgehoglet soon closes his eyes and starts to cry, feeling sleepy. Kira lowers her ears and gently starts to rock her child in her arms. The baby continues to cry, feeling uncomfortable from there being too much heat within the room. 

"I think he's too warm, sweetie..."

Sonic nods and soon walks over to the window and opens it, letting a cool breeze fill the room. He then walks back over and notices his son still crying. Kira gently unwraps the blanket surrounding him and places him into his father's arms as she pulls her bra and shirt back on.

Sonic kisses his son's cheek and gently puts him on his shoulder. The little boy continues to cry as he clings onto his father's shoulder with his tiny hands.

"Shhh, daddy's here..."

Kira lowers her ears and watches in worry, fearing that their little boy was feeling ill.

"Oh sweetheart... what if he has a fever?"

Sonic soon lowers his ears too and gently feels the hedgehoglet's head as well as behind his neck. He sighs in relief.

"Don't worry honey... he doesn't feel hot. He's probably just uncomfortable..."

Kira soon looks around the room, trying to find something that would help him. Sonic puts a finger on his chin and soon comes up with an idea. He smiles a little as he remembers a little lullaby that his mother used to sing to him in order to help him get to sleep.

"Twinkle twinkle little star... how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high... like a diamond in the sky. Twinkle twinkle little star... how I wonder what you are."

Kira smiles from the soft tone of Sonic's singing and feels a few tears run down her muzzle. She had never heard him sing before so it was quite a shock to hear him singing in such a soft voice.

"I never realised that you had such a beautiful singing voice, sweetheart..."

The young male smiles and looks down at his shoulder, noticing their little hedgehoglet yawn before falling fast asleep. 

He gently lays the little hedgehoglet down in a little cot next to their bed and chuckles as he tilts his head to the side and kicks his feet.

"He sure loves to kick even though he's out of your tummy..."

Kira giggles and reaches over before gently tickling their little boy's tummy with her finger. The hedgehoglet squeals and gently grabs Kira's finger with his little hand.

"I think he's just acting like you, sweetie. Your mother told me that you used to kick your feet a lot."

Sonic smiles widely and wags his tail, realising that when he used to kick his feet a lot he ended up becoming a fast runner.

"I wonder if that means he'll be fast like me."

Kira smiles and gently moves her finger out of their child's grasp.

"It's possible, he does have part of your DNA after all."

Sonic smiles and sits on the bed next to Kira before kissing her cheek and looking down at their little boy.

"Do you still wanna name him Samuel, honey?"

Kira holds Sonic's hands and looks down at the hedgehoglet.

"I think Samuel is a perfect name for our little angel... but how about we add a middle name too?"

"Y-you mean mine?"

Kira giggles, noticing a light blush appear on Sonic's muzzle.

"I know you get shy whenever someone says your middle name but I think it would match him perfectly. Especially since he looks just like you..."

Sonic gently runs his hand through Kira's hair and smiles at her.

"I don't mind him having my middle name... I think it would be quite cute."

The pair nuzzle each other before both kissing Samuel's cheeks. Samuel squeaks in his sleep and reaches up before gently grasping his parents' noses. Sonic and Kira both chuckle as they look down at their hedgehoglet.  

"Samuel Maurice... our little miracle."
