On the beautiful island of Apotos, a young mobian couple are walking through the white and blue coloured streets. This young couple consisted of a cobalt-furred male named Sonic and a purple-furred female named Kirana.
Sonic had brought Kira to Apotos as a treat in order to celebrate their 5 year engagement anniversary. During the 5 years of their engagement the pair had found their relationship growing stronger as each year passed.
During mating season in the beginning of their 4th year, Sonic and Kira decided that it was time for them to start a family. They tried for a baby many times during this time but were unsuccessful. However, on the final day of mating season, a miracle happened.
The pair's luck had changed as Kira once again took a pregnancy test only to discover that this time; it was positive! Sonic was overjoyed by the news and promised to help Kira throughout the whole time.
And now around 8 months later, Kira's bump was very noticable and had managed to attract a lot of attention from Apotos' locals...
Kira, who was waddling around as she walked, smiles as the citizens of Apotos greeted her and her boyfriend, Sonic. The young male kisses Kira's cheek and holds her hand as he walks beside her.
"It seems like we haven't been here for years..."
Sonic smiles as he looks up at one of the windmills on a distant hill.
"Yeah, it does."
The blue blur soon looks back at Kira and notices her panting a little as the baby starts to kick her belly. He lowers his ears and puts a hand on her back, leading her towards a nearby bench. He gently sits her onto it and then sits down beside her.
"You look like you need some rest, honey. Why don't we sit down for a bit?"
The young female pants and smiles up at the blue blur before resting her head on his shoulder.
"T-thanks sweetie..."
Sonic smiles and places a hand on Kira's bump before gently rubbing it.
"This little one sure shows a lot of spunk... I bet he or she will be a great freedom fighter!"
The young female giggles and places her hand on top of Sonic's before turning to him and kissing his nose. Sonic turns to her and moves his lips towards hers until they meet. The two share a kiss before slowly breaking apart.
"And I bet that he or she gets it from you, Big Blue~"
Sonic chuckles and holds Kira close as the two overlook their surroundings. Soon a man named Lambros, walks over to the pair and notices Kira's protruding bump.
"Well, I'll be... looks as though you two have been quite busy since you were last here!"
Kira giggles as a blush appears on Sonic's muzzle. He puts a hand behind his head and looks away.
"Yeah, eheheh... really busy."
Lambros chuckles and crosses his arms.
"Well, I always knew that there was something special going on between you two and I'm glad that you've both taken it to the next level. Congratulations to you both!"
Kira gently rubs her bump with her hand and smiles up at the sailor.
"Thank you, Lambros."
Sonic smiles and gives a wink to Lambros before kissing Kira's lips again and wagging his tail.
Kira giggles as the two break apart.
"Aww, you two are so adorable!"
Lambros, Sonic and Kira all look over to see a young girl named Sammar. She was originally from Shamar but had traveled to Apotos in order to find recipes for new food. She is known for her lack of direction.
"Hehe, hey Sammar... say, what are you doing so far away from home?"
Sammar blushes a little as she attempts to cover her face with her hood.
"I fear that... I... I am lost... again."
Sonic smiles and stands up before putting an arm around here.
"I can take ya back home, if ya want."
Sammar pulls away and waves her hands in front of her face.
"No no it's fine... I'm sure I'll find my way back!"
Sammar smiles and soon walks off, confidently.
The young female looks over at Sonic and shrugs.
"Anywho... I better be off now, I need to give my son some duties to perform. Goodbye you two and good luck!"
Sonic and Kira both smile and wave to Lambros before looking at each other. Sonic lets out a sigh and smiles as he holds Kira close to him, continuing to rub her belly.
"Have you thought of any names, honey?"
Kira nuzzles her head into Sonic's shoulder.
"Funny, I was about to ask you the same thing! Well... I did have one if the baby is a girl."
"Oh?"
"I was thinking... Kazumi. I don't know why, I've just always loved the name."
"Kazumi? Sounds really pretty! A pretty name for a pretty girl..."
Sonic bends down and gently kisses Kira's belly before resting his head against it. Kira smiles and puts a hand behind Sonic's head, gently running it through his quills.
Sonic smiles and lets out a purr before looking up at her.
"I've always had a name in mind for a little boy. What do you think of... Samuel?"
Kira smiles and wags her tail.
"I think it's a beautiful name. What do you think, little one?"
The young female soon gasps as the little baby starts to kick her tummy once again. Sonic wags his tail as he feels the baby kick and gently kisses Kira's tummy again.
"Calm down, little one... daddy's here."
Kira giggles and slowly starts to stand up. Sonic holds her hands and helps her up before slowing walking beside her.
"Are you sure you'll be ok to walk, honey? I can always pick you up."
"Don't worry sweetie... I'll be fine. Besides, I need the exercise!"
Sonic chuckles.
"Ok hun... did you wanna head back to the hotel?"
Kira is about to answer when all of a sudden, she feels a strong kick. She groans a little and clutches her stomach before falling to the ground. Sonic lowers his ears and kneels down beside her, gently rubbing her back.
"Honey, are you alright?!"
The young female soon smiles weakly and slowly starts to stand up.
"I-I'm ok... j-just need a little rest is all. This little one seems to be getting quite impatient."
"Ok honey... as long as you're sure."
"Of course... sure as sugar!"
Sonic chuckles and wraps an arm around her as they both continue to walk down the path.
A few minutes later Sonic smiles and points over to a nearby hotel.
"We're in luck honey, the hotel's right there! I knew this shortcut would come in handy..."
Kira smiles weakly but soon starts to feel her body getting weak. She pants and lowers her ears as she once again clutches her stomach. She soon falls to the ground again and breathes deeply. Sonic gasps and kneels down beside her once again.
"Are you sure you're ok, honey? You sure don't look like it..."
Kira grits her teeth as she feels a more painful kick within her stomach. She waits until the kick had finished and again smiles weakly, looking up at her boyfriend.
"Y-yes... I... I j-just think that the baby is becoming more impatient..."
Sonic lowers his ears and gently helps her up. He watches as his girlfriend whimpers in pain and gently kisses her cheek.
"Don't worry, baby... we're almost there."
Kira pants and nods before walking beside Sonic to their room.
The pair enter the elevator, which was luckily in order, and both walk out of the doors as they open on their floor.
Kira grits her teeth and holds onto Sonic as she walks through the corridor.
"S-Sonic... I... I don't know if I can make it."
Sonic lowers his ears and walks a bit faster whilst holding onto her.
"We will make it, honey... just a little further, trust me."
The pair walk around the corner and Sonic smiles before getting out their room key.
"We're here! Hold on a second, I'll get us in."
Sonic gently lets go of Kira as he walks over to the door and unlocks it with the key. The young female smiles but then gasps as she looks down at the floor. She notices a puddle of fluid and groans.
"See honey, we're back home-- what the?!"
Sonic opens his mouth wide as he notices Kira making a puddle on the ground. He notices her legs shaking rapidly and rushes to her aid.
"Kira, did you just--?"
"N-No... it's my... water... it j-just broke, the baby's comi-- AHHHH!!!"
Sonic gasps and watches in horror as Kira falls to the ground and screams in pain.
"Oh my god... it's really happening."
Sonic feels his forehead sweat as he starts to panic. He quickly slaps himself to try and snap out of it.
"S-s-s-stay calm, Sonic! Y-you can do this..."
Soon Sonic's words were interupted by a desperate plea from Kira.
"SONIC, H-HELP ME!!"
The blue blur finally snaps out of his trance and kneels down beside her before gently picking her up. He runs into their room and lays her down on their bed before shutting the door behind them. He runs over to her and holds her hands.
"Ok honey... d-deep breaths."
Kira grits her teeth and grips onto the bed as she starts to have contractions. She pants heavily as she squeezes Sonic's hand. Sonic winces in pain from the squeeze.
"Y-you're d-doing good, honey...k-keep it up!"
The young female lowers her ears and looks up at Sonic with a worried expression. She watches as Sonic lays a blanket underneath her and winces as Sonic gently undresses her lower half and lifts her legs before placing them back down on the bed.
The young male runs over to the bathroom and grabs a towel before placing it down at the bottom of the bed. Kira pants and looks up at Sonic.
"S-Sonic? D-do you know how to--AHHHH!!"
Sonic lowers his ears as he watches Kira begin to push. He gently lets go of her hand and walks to the front of the bed. He looks under the bed cover and lowers his ears as he doesn't see the head of the baby.
"S-Sonic... c-can you see the baby?"
Sonic gulps as he looks up at Kira from the bottom of the bed.
"I... I don't see anything."
"WHAT?!"
Kira soon starts to panic. She pants faster and feels tears come to her eyes, thinking that their baby isn't there.
"B-but... o-our baby... WHERE IS IT?!"
Sonic runs to her side and gently holds her hand, realising that he had upset her. He runs his other hand through her hair, attempting to calm her down.
"Shh... it's ok. The baby IS there, he or she is probably just being a bit stubborn about coming out. I didn't mean to make you worry, sweetheart."
Kira sighs in relief and groans as she tries to speak.
"T-thank Mobius. By the way... d-do you know how to deliver a baby?"
Sonic gulps and puts a hand behind his head.
