"description": "Over the years I've kinda grown a bit tired of my wolf character. So I commissioned SynnfulTiger over on IB to make me a reference sheet for a new main character.\n\nNickname(s) - Shad, Shadow-cat\nSex/Gender - Male\nSpecies - Fae Panther\nAge - Early 20s\n\nCharacter Description\nShadwell, or 'Shad' to his friends, is a panther with a strong faerie heritage.\n\nPersonality\nShad is a rather sombre but mischievous individual. He has a great sense of wonder and enjoyment, and enjoys exploring, but tries to effect an air of aloofness and cockiness in what he experiences. When he is comfortable, he allows himself to indulge and enjoy himself fully. He has a cantankerous sense of humour, and often enjoys comedy at the expense of others, although he is never malicious in this. He is highly critical of things, including himself. The nobles existed in two courts- the seelie (honorable and benevolent, who represented summer) and unseelie (cunning and malicious, representing winter), with each court 'ruling' for half of the year before transferring power to the other at midsummer and Halloween respectively.\nFor good examples of both of those, look for King Oberon (a midsummer night's dream) and Queen Mab (king Arthur).\n\nWorld/Setting\nFae are also connected to Changeling. That is the idea that an infant has been abducted, replaced with an exact duplicate of itself. This is nowadays recognised as a condition in post natal terms. But it has themes that connect it to the doppelganger idea, and can be seen in films like invasion of the body snatchers. Labyrinth also deals with this, but labyrinth also covers a lot in terms of fae, basically making it required viewing.\nCold iron is a big no. It is a material that represents calcification and stasis, which is anathema to the capricious nature of the fae.\nThorns and briars are a recurring motiff, representing the boundary between the mortal and fae world. In some modern reworking, the fae world is influenced or shared by the 'dreaming', the new-agey idea that all people share a collective dream world. The more human may wear some, while those with less in the way of courtly armour to display may not. The green is shaped in such a way that it seems to explode outwards, like a starburst.\nOn his right shoulder, he has a tattoo - in white. This tattoo glows to silver in the moonlight.\nHis legs are wiry and slender. His tail is suitably long and has only a small tuft at the end. His buttocks are only somewhat fat, youthful.\n\nClothing\nIn urban locations, Shadwell often wears clothing generally appropriate to his setting - jeans, t-shirts and the like.
