"writing": "Chapter 38\nBusted\n\n\tKel visited with Cassy every day, and by Wednesday Cassy was out of bed, and walking around. By Friday, she could make a complete lap around the fourth floor recovery ward. Her spirits were definitely up; she even threatened to chase Mike down, tackle him, and jump his bones in the hallway!\n\tAs Kel was leaving for work, Dr. Feliss intercepted her on her way to the elevators.\n\t\"Miss Vixxen, may I have a word with you please...\" he asked, indicating an empty conference room. 'Oh Shit—Oh Shit—Oh Shit—Oh Shit' Kel thought as she was ushered into the quiet room, taking a seat across the table from the doctor, who just regarded the vixen for a few long moments. Dr. Feliss set a brown folder on the table; Kel just stared at it, uncomprehendingly.\n\t\"Miss Vixxen. Do you know what this is?\" he said indicating the folder.\n\t\"Uh, no. What is it?\" her voice was shakier than she would have liked/\n\t\"That is Miss Bhunny's treatment file. I have a few…questions you may be able to help me with, regarding her case.”\n\t\"I—I'll do my best. But I, uh—\" Kel swallowed hard. The doctor opened the file, reviewing the relevant information.\n\t\"She was admitted one week ago—rushed to Emergency surgery—and now she's up and moving around, a good five days ahead of projected schedule. Given the extent of her injuries, perhaps you can shed some light on this most…unusual of cases.\"\nDoctor Feliss sat back, watching the vixen, awaiting an answer. Kel sighed and closed her eyes a moment, reading him. He was a good fur, Dedicated to his profession. He just had a mystery on his paws he just could not explain, and he suspected that Kel was the key to understanding what was going on. It both fascinated and baffled him as to why Cassy was doing so well. Kel gave Dr. Feliss a very compassionate smile.\n\t\"Well, it's like this…\" Kel started. \"Cassy and I have been working together for over four years; she's a dear friend. We were wiping tables after closing, when this creep breaks in, intending to rob the place. And when he got taken down, his gun went off and struck Cassy. I love her like the sister I never had. I just had to find a way to help her...\" \nThe Doctor nodded for her to continue. \n\t\"Well...I had read how \"laying-on-of-paws\" and positive meditations can help in some cases to speed the healing process. I guess I kind of poured my love for her into my working with her. See, she's getting married as soon as she is well enough to leave here. She and Mike are so happy together; I just had to do something! Can you understand that, Dr. Feliss?\" Kel asked.\nHe sat there thinking over what she had just said. Finally he nodded.\n\t\"Well, my colleagues won't believe it, but the evidence is here in the file. What you did works. Thank you Miss Vixxen—I will admit, I was skeptical, but—how did you do it?”\n\t\"Well, among other things, I had her focus on relaxation and releasing the trauma of the injury, drawing off the shock and pain associated with it. Then, I had her remember how she felt before she was injured. Kind of reminding her body what it was like to be healthy and uninjured. Now this next part may sound weird...but I had her imagine the area that was damaged was infused with a green healing energy that her body could draw on to energize the healing process. It helped I think, to give her a sense of being actively engaged in the healing process. For if people don't think they will get better, they don't, do they Doctor?\" Kel tilted her head looking at the doctor.\n\t\"Well, personally, I feel some people put too much faith in the all mighty Doctor. That they have no power to aid in their own healing process...\" He had finished taking notes on what Kel had said, as well as examples of positive meditations to aid in the process. He was most fascinated with her concept of \"Green Healing Energy\" they talked for a few more minutes.\n\t\"Thank you Miss Vixxen, I just wanted to take this opportunity to talk with you before discharging Miss Bhunny...\"\n\t\"Oh, no problem Dr. Feliss, when were you going to send her home?\"\n\t\"The prognoses was next Wednesday But considering how well she's doing, Probably tomorrow afternoon. Mind you, I still will need to run a few tests to make sure everything is functioning properly.\" He smiled at the excited look on Kel's face.\n\t\"Really? That's wonderful! Thanks Doc, Uh—I mean Doctor Feliss.\" Kel blushed a bit.\n\t\"That's all right Miss Vixxen, your enthusiasm is understandable.\"\n\t\"D-do you think we can tell them right now?\" Kel asked, just about jumping out of her seat. Chuckling he said, “I don't see why not.\" The doctor shook his head, a smile on his muzzle as he looked at the exuberant vixen as they made their way back to room 420.\n\t\"Hey Guys! Guess Wha-\" Kel froze as she realized exactly what she was seeing... Mike had his paws under the bed sheets; Cassy had her head back trilling softly rocking her hips...\nThe shock of being walked in on caused Mike to jump back so fast he hit the wall and slid to the floor stunned. Cassy yelped and threw the covers over her head upon seeing Kel and Dr. Feliss standing at the foot of the bed.\n\t\"GUYS!\" Kel squawked,\n Dr Feliss chuckled...\n\t\"Well, I think this confirms my suspicion, wouldn't you say, Miss Vixxen?\"\n\t\"Definitely.\" Kel practically crowed. Mike's poor muzzle looked like a powder puff—he was so fluffed with embarrassment. Kel could see Cassy glow with embarrassment. \n\t\"Hey Cassy, Dr, Feliss has something to say to you, if you could come out from under the covers...\" Kel coaxed her friend out and just barely managed not to laugh; Cassy's fluff went all the way to the tips of her ears! Oh poor bunny! Kel thought as she went over to help Mike up off the floor. That poor guy looked like a little kit who got caught with his paw in the cookie jar. 'Not too far off in a sense, ' Kel thought.\n\t\"Well Now...\" Dr Feliss said tried to keep the laughter out of his voice. \"I was going to see how you were feeling, Miss Bhunny... But, judging from what we just witnessed...\"\n'He was making them squirm!', Kel thought, doing her best not to laugh...\n\t\"I think my decision should stand...I am afraid, Mr. Ferretti, if you are going to engage in that type of activity, then I have no choice but to-\"\n\t\"PLEASE Doc! I—I didn't—\" Mike pleaded.\n\t\"I'm sorry, Mr. Ferretti, but my decision is final...\" Mike wilted.\n\t\"You are just going to have to take Miss Bhunny home tomorrow.\"\nMike looked up so fast Kel thought he might give himself whiplash. \"BWAH?\" He stammered as Cassy eeped. Mike almost fell over with shock!\n\t\"I need to run a few tests, but she should be able to go home tomorrow afternoon.\"\n# #\n\t\"Sorry for walking in on you two like that.\" Kel said to Mike as she was picking up a drink order after swinging by the kitchen. Mike just rolled his eyes, chuckling.\n\t\"Oh, Gods that's why I told her we shouldn't fool around ‘til she got home! Talk about your embarrassing situations! I thought the doc was going to bar me from the hospital!” \n Mike chuckled, shaking his head, \"But it was worth it, for that great news. Thanks Kel.\"\n\t\"That’s really great news, Mike.\" I congratulated my friend, coming in from the back with two cases of beer.\n\t\"Yeah, Kel here really helped out with her laying-on-of-paws. Who knew faith healing could make that much of a difference? Heck, even the Doc's couldn't figure it out, \tbut we're pleased just the same...\" Mike smiled, reveling in the news that his beloved honey bunny was coming home a week early!\n\t\"So what did Kel mean by walking in on you two? You two weren't fooling around in the hospital, were you?\" I asked, a grin splitting my muzzle. Mike blushed just a little.\n\t\"Let's just say I got caught with my 'paws in the cookie jar,' and leave it at that…\"\n\t\"You're incorrigible, you know that, my friend.\"\n\t\"Hey, she put me in a difficult position!\" Mike fired back.\n\t\"Uh yeah, right.\" I said incredulously. \"I've heard those hospital beds can be hard to \tmaneuver in. All those rods and rails...\" Mike just glared at me.\n\t\"It wasn't like that at all...it was more… a paws on, kinda thing.\" he grinned evilly.\n\t\"Yup, incorrigible. Must be that Sicilian blood.\" I winked back at the grinning ferret who just gave me the thumbs up. Being Friday, it was Heavy Metal Night; the band that was setting up on stage was \"Kiss-O-Death,\" A KISS/Poison cover band. They were loud, flashy and popular—three ingredients for a successful evening. Lupé Carlatta was covering Cassy's shift while she was out of commission. A rather shapely tan mouse femme was quite the saucy wench; it was all in good fun, and she was doing very well for someone just starting out in bar service. \n\t\"Hrik\" Lupé called in hew wonderful accent. \"I need four cervices, three Moodslides, and a Koolah, no hice...\" she smiled.\n\t\"Um, Draft or bottles?\" \n\t\"Kay? Oh beeer. Bottles, modello, por favor.\"\n\t\"Gotcha! Uno momento. \" I replied. High school Spanish to the rescue, I thought returning her smile. Setting her orders on her tray, she then replied, \"Sank you Hrick.\" and she was off with a swish of skirt and hip.\n\t\"That new gal is working out quite well.\" Mike commented, watching her make her rounds.\n\t\"Yeah, Max had recently hired her to work the day shift, a little over a week ago. Then moved her up to cover for Cassy. All things considered, she's doing a great job for someone new to the bar scene.\" I said.\n\t\"Really? She's only been here a week and a half? She IS good.\" Mike nodded.\nJust then the band blasted out \"God Of Thunder\" by KISS, and that put an end to conversation till after midnight at least.\n# # #",

Mike blushed just a little.<br />\t&quot;Let&#039;s just say I got caught with my &#039;paws in the cookie jar,&#039; and leave it at that&hellip;&quot;<br />\t&quot;You&#039;re incorrigible, you know that, my friend.&quot;<br />\t&quot;Hey, she put me in a difficult position!&quot; Mike fired back.<br />\t&quot;Uh yeah, right.&quot; I said incredulously. &quot;I&#039;ve heard those hospital beds can be hard to \tmaneuver in. All those rods and rails...&quot; Mike just glared at me.<br />\t&quot;It wasn&#039;t like that at all...it was more&hellip; a paws on, kinda thing.&quot; he grinned evilly.<br />\t&quot;Yup, incorrigible. Must be that Sicilian blood.&quot; I winked back at the grinning ferret who just gave me the thumbs up. Being Friday, it was Heavy Metal Night; the band that was setting up on stage was &quot;Kiss-O-Death,&quot; A KISS/Poison cover band. They were loud, flashy and popular&mdash;three ingredients for a successful evening. Lup&eacute;&nbsp;&nbsp;Carlatta was covering Cassy&#039;s shift while she was out of commission. A rather shapely tan mouse femme was quite the saucy wench; it was all in good fun, and she was doing very well for someone just starting out in bar service. <br />\t&quot;Hrik&quot; Lup&eacute; called in hew wonderful accent. &quot;I need four cervices, three Moodslides, and a Koolah, no hice...&quot; she smiled.<br />\t&quot;Um, Draft or bottles?&quot; <br />\t&quot;Kay? Oh beeer. Bottles, modello, por favor.&quot;<br />\t&quot;Gotcha! Uno momento. &quot; I replied. High school Spanish to the rescue, I thought returning her smile. Setting her orders on her tray, she then replied, &quot;Sank you Hrick.&quot; and she was off with a swish of skirt and hip.<br />\t&quot;That new gal is working out quite well.&quot; Mike commented, watching her make her rounds.<br />\t&quot;Yeah, Max had recently hired her to work the day shift, a little over a week ago. Then moved her up to cover for Cassy. All things considered, she&#039;s doing a great job for someone new to the bar scene.&quot; I said.<br />\t&quot;Really? She&#039;s only been here a week and a half? She IS good.&quot; Mike nodded.<br />Just then the band blasted out &quot;God Of Thunder&quot; by KISS, and that put an end to conversation till after midnight at least.<br /><div class='align_center'>#&nbsp;&nbsp; #&nbsp;&nbsp; #</div></span>",
