But, it couldn't be that bad, right? At least their new ruler could point to him as a prime example of any who stand up to her.

"I'm not one to waste my time or energy on pathetic fools, so unless you prove to me that you're worth keeping as a worker, I will not hesitate to have my guardians punish, or even eradicate you!"

Jamie couldn't see her, but her words were chilling him to the bone, and his ears were starting to ring.

The sheer tone and power of her voice was enough to silence anyone who dared speak against her, and the threat of punishment for insubordination was very real.

In fact, it was enough to give him a new perspective on his fate. Being shrunk and used to pleasure a giddy monkey like this was a blessing, compared to the other things that some of her other guardians wanted to do to him.
