There he would spend his time caring for the creatures that for one reason or another could not go back to the wild, and he had a much easier time connecting with the animals than most, having been called a genius by many when it came to interacting with animals. That Kinsy, the girl who would regularly visit the sanctuary, and sometimes donate her time and money towards, wasn't too different from Cody in that regard. He always saw how many normally skittish creatures would approach her, and the warm expression on her mostly stone cold face let him know that she had his love of animals in common.\n\nNot being the most socially adept fur out there, Cody tried some small talk with Kinsy, and the occasional hint of physical contact.
