But as with all my drawings he needed to be a character, so while playing with bands and scarves to give him he ended up with an Espeon band. but then I needed a reason for it so I wrote a little back story xP.
His name is Rein the Eevee
On an mission to Mystery Jungle. Lyra the Espeon saved this eevee after a disagreement with some group and vileplume, and victreebel,
Rein use to live in Mystery Jungle.
He was always a trouble maker, stealing berries from the other wild Pokemon whenever he found the chance. Not because he struggled to find his own but because he enjoyed the thrill of it.
He had lived in the forest his entire life; having been left alone as an egg he had had no choice but to hone his skills of being sneaky and stealthy. It was a miracle he had survived so long alone. He had never cared for anyone and no one had cared for him, so stealing others food was just a game to keep him occupied.
However eventually the other Pokemon from the forest had had enough of him and a group of Vileploom, Victreebel and some other poison Pokemon cornered him. Before he could look around for an escape route they all hit him with a wave of stun spore.
Usually it would have long wore off after a while but he was hit so hard he was unable to move an inch for days, only a nearby puddle he just about managed to lap at allowed him to hold on.
He had almost given up when an Espeon appeared before him. He blinked at her, unable to do much else as he took in her form. She was the most beautiful Pokemon he had even seen, her light purple fur was glossy and smooth, her eyes glowed a deeper purple as she turned to face him, the blue ribbon on her tail fluttered as her she flicked it in alarm at the state of him. She rushed over to him looking him over.
"Are you ok? What happened, you look terrible."
Blinking at her blankly still taken in by her and surprised at the concern in her voice, he hesitated, but eventually managed to move his mouth slowly despite the paralysis.
"I..I can't move.. I got attacked.. stun spore.. "
The Espeon’s eyes flashed with pity.
"You poor thing, here eat these they will help"
As she put down a cheri and oran berry. He lowered his gaze still unable to move his head much.
"I don't think... I ... can"
Understanding she blinked as she lifted the cheri berry with her phychic power towards his mouth. It was slow going but he eventually managed to eat which immediately seemed to start curing his paralysis. Still stiff but able to move he ate the other berry with relish having not eaten a thing in days.
Finishing the last bite of berry and catching his breath he looked up at the Espeon.
"Thank you, you saved my life, I've been stuck here for days"
She gasped but then smiled at him, glad to see his strength returning.
"It was nothing, I couldn't leave you there like that.. how did you end up like that anyway, where did you come from?"
"I live here.. and well I was attacked by some of the Pokemon here"
"Attacked? What did you do to make them attack you so savagely?"
"Well..." he hesitated wanting to lie or give his usually cheeky reply. But looking at the beautiful Espeon who had only
showed concern, he couldn’t.
"Well it isn't as if I didn't deserve it, all the Pokemon here hate me.. I'm a bit of a trouble maker, I steal food and stuff. I guess they had had enough of me"
"Why, isn't there enough to eat around here?"
He blinked looking away ashamed "No.. there’s plenty.. I don't know why I guess I just get bored here by myself."
"You are alone? Don't you have a family or mate?"
"No, I was left as an egg, I don't know my family, and never had a mate, I never really liked any of the Pokemon here anyway"
She stared at him pondering for a moment.
"Well it seems they don't like you either, perhaps it’s time you left."
He blinked at her. Oddly he had never considered leaving, well he had but never seriously, deep down he was afraid, he was so use to the forest.
Seeing the uncertainty in his gaze she smiled.
"Well then how about you come with me? back to my guild? You know what an explorer is right?"
"Guild? I have seen some explorers come through here but I always avoid them, they aren’t like the Pokemon here."
she smirked at him.
"Well no, i'd like to think we were a bit more civilized that the wild Pokemon here, we don’t steal food"
She said lolling her tougue.
"So you would really take me back to this guild? and I could really be an explorer with you?"
"Well that was the idea, if you think you can handle it, if not you can always come back here with all your… friends" she said with a laugh.
"I never needed friends... but I think I would like to be an explorer."
'Especially if it’s with you' he thought but never said out loud.
"Well good and you may have not needed friends but you have one now, my name is Lyra, a Gold Ranked Explorer"
He smiled.
“My names Rein.”
So he soon after joined the guild and became an explorer.
But having been saved by the beautiful Espeon, the first Pokemon to ever show him compassion he had completely fallen for her.
All he wanted was to become a great explorer like her. And even though he knew she had a mate in Gau, it didn’t stop his obsession. He chose to wear a purple ribbon which reminded him of her.
Of course Lyka knew of his feelings and found them amusing and sweet. Gau knew too but didn’t mind. He liked Rein who while still sneaky had become an honest and reliable member of the guild.
So here you have a picture of him a little later while thinking of his ‘hero’.
