A trainer named Seth is well on his way to being famous in his own region, though not for good reasons. He has one desire beyond being a master trainer, and that is to collect all of the legendary pokemon from each region. His sights were set on acquiring a lugia first. He would travel to the whirl islands and deep within he would find his goal, and something more.
Seth is a rash and short sighted young man and will not listen to anyone if what they have to say goes against what he is trying to accomplish. His attitude towards pokemon is equally intolerable. He only sees them as trophies, never caring about how they feel and battling them until they are ragged and barely able to stand, and when he thinks they have lost their usefulness to him he runs them off then replaces them with another stronger or rarer pokemon. All of the pokemon he currently owns serve him loyally  but still don't enjoy being his trophies. The ones he is bringing  are a male leafeon, male scizor, female salamence, female gardevoir, male arcanine, and a male swalot. All of his pokemon are shinny and fed rare candy to power level them as well as TM's to get the moves he wanted. They lack the actual experience to be effective in battles against strong opponents, as his parents, who are seasoned trainers, warned him. He didn't listen to them and set off anyway.
He had an easy time reaching the whirl islands, landing on the first island's beach by using salamence to fly there. Upon entering the cave he encountered a few zubat and a seel here and there, but was thoroughly unimpressed by everything he was seeing. He thought to himself that the legendary must be lame for hanging around with these weaklings. He was thinking about turning back and forgetting the whole thing and was too distracted to notice a tendril creeping up on him from the water's edge. He panicked when he was lifted into the air by his ankle and his pokeballs fell into the water as he tore his pack open to get at them. He managed throw one of them out, not knowing which one it was. The tendril held him above the water with one arm free, and he watched as the pokeball hit the water and out came the red light. It formed into his scizor and he watched as his precious golden pokemon sank with out a chance to reach shore.
The tendril swayed as more of them rose to reveal the main body of the tentacruel that held him, then it started to drag him closer to it's mouth and into the water. Before he was swallowed up he noticed his other pokeballs floating and snatched one. He threw it at once and was relieved to see his blue gardevoir floating over the water. He called out the first attack that came to mind.
“Gardevoir, use thunderbolt!” Gardevoir lit up with a surge of electrical power and released it at the tentecrule. It was a direct hit and knocked Seth loose. He started scrambling to shore with gardevoir following close behind. Once on land, Seth calls for Gardevoir to use thunderbolt again. She charges up and releases a bolt of electricity at tentacruel once more. It tried to dodge, but being in the water made that an impossibility. “It's gonna be hard to find another shiny scizor. Damn it! I hope that tentacruel drowns with him.”
Seth has gardevoir use psychic to retrieve the other pokeballs. After, he withdraws her and heads deeper into the cave. He sends out his salamence. It is a bright green and has many strong attacks as well as a stout defense. He does not hold back as he makes his dragon obliterate every pokemon in between him and Lugia. He calls for fire blast and giga impact without giving any of the pokemon a chance to get away.
He continues his rampage until he starts to notice no more pokemon around. He keeps walking with salamence out, still ready to call for an attack should he see any stray pokemon. After some time of this he finds that the cave is getting darker by the second. Salamence starts to growl as they approach a bend in the passage. A light sines through the darkness and Seth sees the home of the legendary lugia he had set out to capture.
“Salamence, return.” The red beam withdraws his pokemon and picks up another ball from his pocket. “Okay leafeon, it's up to you.” He throws the ball and it hits the ground with no reaction what so ever. “What's going on? Why won't you come out leafeon?”
The lugia's eyes are glowing bright blue as it uses psychic to lift the pokeballs from Seth's pockets as well as the one on the ground. All of the pokemon come out at once. “They will not listen to you any more. I have freed their minds from your misguided ways. I was also able to rescue your other so called prize from the water.” Scizor walks out from behind lugia with a serene look about him. “Scizor, use guillotine!” “You don't listen do you human child? Scizor, go and restrain him.” The scizor used agility to move behind his former trainer. He snatched Seth's arms and gripped hard with his pincer like claws. Seth'ss struggling stops at the sound of his pokemon escaping from their pokeballs.
All of his beloved pokemon run off save for leafeon and scizor. “Why do you stay little one?” “Leaf leafeon leafeon!” “I see. You may help me then, what do you think will be a suitable punishment for your former captor?” “Leafeon?” He sits and thinks for a moment before he says something to lugia. “So the human is scared of small spaces. I have the perfect punishment for him then.” Lugia takes Seth from scizor with psychic and scizor departs the scene.
“What are you going to do with me?” Seth is finally starting to see that he is in trouble and lugia is smiling evilly and brings the scared human close to his face. “I'm going to put you in a tight dark space where you will learn to regret ever coming here. And little leafeon will be helping me put you there.” Leafeon barks part of its name and smiles while wagging its tail.
