Yes, in the stars. In a small, rural village in France, with their medieval ruins and Roman roads, traditions matter more. The terribly dryness of the dog days of summer are represented by the effigy of a great beast, Kanikula, a play on Canicula. Once a brave warrior who wanted the hand of a princess, a sorcerer king turned him to Kanikula out of spite. But she can return him and bring the rains. Altair and Vega. She, the village girl and he, the too-cool but kindly and sweet boy from a bigger place were punished for mischief by being the knight and princess in the village parade. Hardly a punishment...
Summer fling. Except it never seemed so. He gave her a daisy, an immortal. It's good to hope for a happily ever after. And after growing up, some things remained. They brought grown lust to the most charming love.
Some super obscure stuff today. These are rare side characters from a show no one seems to know. Paolo the wolf and Suzie the hedgehog from the show Mini-Loup, a French cartoon and book series. Paolo is Mini-Loup's cousin, portrayed as a too cool older teen getting beaten up by puberty to a genuinely comical degree. He sleeps all the time, his voice is MADE of puberty cracks, and he has acne like the moon has craters. Yet he's shown to be a finely nice kid who loves his cousin and plays nice with the village kids, even tempering his style for Dudu, the super soft and sweet puppy. Suzie is the sister of Mini-Loup's friend Spiky. She's also the cool teen type but a little more on the nose. Always on her little brother about being annoying, reading magazines and watching gossip shows, and swooning over reality stars and pop singers. But she does have a softer, nicer side. And how perfect that Paolo brings it out. This is them some years later, as you can see by Suzie now filling out that band top she always wears. They're still flinging it up, but now with adult content, as well as tender affection. I think Paolo can't decide which is nicer, a nice rub or a little kiss. She might have even been making a joke. Big noses run in that family. So with a kiss and pulling down of his Speedo she could whisper, "Gros nez..."
As for why he still has the marks? Honestly, even as an adult, I couldn't see him without them. The only thing more iconic that his cracky voice is his Peter Puberty (or I guess Pierre Puberté if we're going for Teen Girl Squad en Française) acne marks. It gives him character.
