"description": "I'm so glad I thought of this! so far I've only vaguely described the differences between the main two breeds of Retcans. But here, I present you those facts in all detail. I took what I felt are the best examples of the two different breeds. Zonda; General of Rage's defense forces. An L. Alpha warrior veteran who's adventures we've experienced through his own dedicated arc in my story. And of course, the always grumpy, but also beautiful Silver; an L. Beta Retcan, and proud Captain of Rage Of Lusceonis. And also a character who we've followed through her battles against Project Apocalypse, and also her inner conflicts.\n\nSo what makes the two breeds of Retcans unique enough to be classified?\n\nWell, first we must talk about L. Alpha Retcans. These fellows are the original Retcans and the first to reach their peak evolution as the sentient mammals from planet Lusceonis Alpha. L. Alpha's are sturdy creatures, built for mostly tropical and desert environments, which are what cover most of their home planet. Short, coarse fur covers their body. Dark and heat-resistant skin protects their unfurred parts from the heat and harsh environments. They seem lanky and weak, and they are small creatures standing at an average of 5'7 ft and weighing in at an average of 125 lb. But pound-by-pound, thanks to their animal nature, they are stronger than many space humans much taller and heavier than themselves. They also posses stamina like no other, thanks to evolving around their hot and arid place of origin.\n\nAs they progressed as a race, they slowly moved further from the equator, closer to the poles of Lusceonis Alpha. Many Retcans settled in in colder areas, breeding and forming a new civilization in what first seemed an inhospitable area of the planet. Who knows how many hundreds of thousands of years passed. Before they even noticed, they had adapted to the planet's southernmost and northernmost areas, slowly evolving characteristics that let them live in the ice tundras. Soon after they reached the stars, they populated the second planet within Lusceonis' binary orbit. Lusceonis Beta was something else... this planet had a very small flora area within its equator; everything else was frozen... L.Alpha Retcans had problems adapting to this planet and often opted on temporary stays. their now evolved brothers from the poles had no problem living in this ice planet. Soon they adapted even further to this new world.\n\nThey were now officially known as L.Beta Retcans. Their adaptation had made them smaller, with more fatty deposits and denser muscle mass. Their fur grew longer, thicker, with an even denser undercoat, completely protecting them form the harsh cold. Their fur lost pigment and became somewhat transluscent, trapping the sunlight and projecting it directly under their coat into their skin, through hallow hair strands. this loss of pigment was also reflected on their skin and eyes. They no longer possessed the tremendous amount of stamina that his brothers L. Alphas posses, but they became proportionally stronger as their physical capabilities were in par with their bigger brothers despite their smaller size. This thanks to their bulkier mass.\n\nEither way, Retcans find these changes and differences beautiful. What was once a single species with virtually no differences had now developed into two very charming and distinctive breeds. Retcans still cross-breed, and there are many L.B/L.A mixed Retcans (such as Silver's son, Bo). It is believed that in hundreds of thousands of years, both distinctive breeds will eventually disappear, and become a single Retcan once again, but now ready to either survive the arid equator of Lusceonis Alpha as well as the bone-chilling tundra of Lusceonis Beta.\n\nAlso, male and female physical reference here! :D\n\nRetcans are an original creation of myself. Art by me.",
