6 years is a long time to know someone, especially when that's nearly half of your conscious life. Devi, a scrawny young rabbit girl, found that 6 years could barely fit in the litter of cardboard boxes around her room; the same room she had lived in for her entire life.
Devi was moving away. She was leaving her large house, her niche of friends, her home town; but she was especially distraught about moving away from Nova.
They had met 6 years ago; when Nova was a new girl (A feeling Devi dreaded she would now face). Nova was tall and pretty; a sea otter, actually. She had glasses on, but they used to always be taped together because she had a habit of breaking them very quickly. She was very tomboyish and talked with an accent she called "Brooklyn". It must have been where she had come from. Of course, back then, Nova wasn't quite Nova yet or at least she didn't know it. Instead the teacher called her "Nikki" or Nicole or something. That was fine because Devi wasn't Devi yet either.
Her name was actually Debbie but fuck that. They wouldn't come into their names for another year or so.
Still, in the early years they where friends immediately. Since Debbie was such a runt, she was easy prey for bullies and Nikki wanted none of that. In some box, Devi had a memory of Nikki smashing Rex, some big dumb bull guy, in the mouth with her lunch tray after he tried to throw Debbie in a trash can.
"Jeez, that guy's a real douche bag." Nikki sneered; the same sneer Devi would see on Nova all the time when she was upset and about to cause a ruckus. Plus, Devi couldn't get the memory (then and all other subsequent times) of Nikki calling people 'douche bags' because of how much emphasis she put on the 'oo' in 'douche'.
At the time Debbie was crying, but unlike most kids who would've laughed, Nikki soon-to-be Nova, smiled those pointy otter fangs and offered to share her bag lunch with Debbie.
By the time they found their names, they were best friends and quite infatuated. There were some cute little things Devi remembered with the help of an old photo of Nova just towering over her.
At 11 she looked giant compared to Devi and had taken this weird habit of slouching in order to feel more... her age, probably.
By 12, the slouching would develop into small back strains and Devi would always try to help by giving her massages that she purported to be 'a pro at'. She just smooshed her hands against Nova's back because she liked how it felt, though.
At 13 Devi had enough of a growth spurt that Nova's slouching habit went away. Though, Devi still had to get on her tippy-toes to kiss Nova anyways.
Around the time the picture was taken, Devi figured they were in a full relationship. They were kissing a whole lot, at least.
Somewhere in another box Devi recalled this one time when they where 11 and had been kissing on a park bench. This time stuck out because some crust hole rat Grandma had waddled her pendulous tits where they simply had no business. She demanded that Nova and Devi refrain and show decency and just walked off without hearing what the two girls had to say; muttering a threat about dragging the younger-looking Devi home to get spanked by her mom or some shit.
"What a real pisser. I'dda fucked her up though if she did lay a hand on you, Dev." Nova grumbled and slouched.
"I don't think she would've really drug me all the way home to tell my parents what we were doing. 'sides, it's not like they would be that mad," 11 year old Devi remarked.
"Shit, I hope not," Nova said proudly, sinking her hands into her perpetually baggy pants. "Im plannin' on - you know - bein' with you, forever."
"Hilarious." The now 13 year old Devi thought, looking at the pile of clothes still needed to be sorted and packed. "Forever, huh."
She drug her feet lazily across the room and began shuffling up the pile which consisted of as much her own clothes as Nova's. She had, of course, planned on taking a few as the obligatory 'girlfriend momentos', but she didn't want to leave Nova entirely clothesless, so it was onto the sorting.
Something that had weirdly been on her mind, besides the vow of 'forever', was slightly more personal: their virginity vow. They would save it till they could move out together; so weird and kinky but, frankly, Devi was terrified at the time and still was. She remembered being 12 and laying in bed with Nova, completely naked and wrapped together but mostly she recalled being overwhelmed with butterflies, shakes, and the urge to cry.
"I love you." 12 year old Devi said for the 27 billionth time. By now it must've surely doubled.
"I love you too." Devi remembered Nova shooting her a concerned glance in the darkness of the bedroom. "What's wrong, Dev? That wasn't your normal 'I'm happy I love you', that's your 'I'm scared' one."
"'Cause. I am... I'm not... ready to have sex, I'm sorry." the Then-Devi said and Now-Devi remembered thinking that she had officially killed their most perfect love.
Nova let out a sigh of relief and rolled off.
"Jeeze, me too, oh my god, I was literally shaking myself to death." Nova grinned ear to ear. "I just didn't want to disappoint you, but... I had no fucking idea what I was doing. I bet you noticed, huh."
"I sorta... figured sex wasn't just lying on top of me without doing anything," Devi giggled; also letting out a sigh of relief that Nova wasn't disappointed. "But I'm so glad you feel the same way... fuck."
"We suck at the relationship thing, huh." Nova blurted out; fiddling with a stray locke of her curly hair against her bare chest as her tail haphazardly flopped wherever it pleased. "But it's fun sucking with you. No pun intended."
"Well... we still can... when we are older, right?" young Devi smiled. "When we move out together, maybe? Or will I be too old for you, then?"
"I'd still fuck you if you were like 60 years older than me," Nova thought about what she said in a held-breath pause. "Actually that sounds gross, I'm happy you ain't cuz no matter what you're gonna be younger than me, girl."
"By a couple of months, you jerk." Devi huffed; bringing the comforter up to her chin and covering herself.
"Whoa, hold on a sec." Nova gripped the comforter and pulled it off of Devi with all of her might; the young rabbit girl squeaked and tried to make a grab for it as it flung off of her but missed. "Just cuz we're not banging doesn't mean I don't like seeing you in your birthday suit."
Devi instinctively covered her chest in response and closed her legs tightly. "Uh huh."
"Do I still get to see you naked when we're older, by the way?" Nova asked so earnestly that Then-Devi and Now-Devi smiled.
"Well duh." Devi smirked; saying it then and repeating herself from her own memories now.
Devi felt her vision blur as she reminisced; the awful thought of being so far away from Nova truly scared her. Her hands were shaking wildly as she packed Nova's clothes; gripping an old shirt laced with the sea otter's scent as tight as she could. "Grow up!" she thought to herself; repeating it like a mantra.
When she first heard the news that they were moving, it was so unceremonious and so blunt. They were sitting at the dinner table eating Chinese food and one of her dads just blurts out "So we're moving to Trouville."
It was akin to him saying something like 'So, honey, we're aliens now."
She felt the entire world just break apart at that moment. Trouville was approximately 7 hours away. They were still on the continent of Lavender Hill but the distance was unfathomable. She had been there long ago and all she recalled was that it was the most mundane, simplistic and boring town she had ever seen.
Devi remembered overdramatically dropping her fork and running out of the dining room as fast as she could to cry on her bed. Her dads gave her some space.
The only thing Devi hated about herself was her default response of crying in the face of anything that even remotely bothered her so this was cause for quite the waterfall coming out of her eyes when she first heard the news.
And now.
She put away the rest of Nova's clothes; taking a few choice articles and slunk against one of the boxes. As soon as she did, however, she heard a casual knock coming from her opened door. Devi was so happy to see that Nova had gotten back from picking them up some food early -- she was afraid it would take another hour and cut in to the final moments they had together.
Devi saw a stack of pizza boxes in her hands and, oddly enough, a backpack over her shoulders. She didn't question it, though.
"So, the guy at the pizza joint gave me the usual runaround shit." Nova casually set the pizza boxes down and, with prestine grace, she knelt besides the young rabbit leaning against the packing box.
Instinctively, Nova leaned in and kissed Devi's tears away and continued to talk casually. "You know the 'oh it's gonna take an extra 15 minutes' bullcrap. I was about to leave and then he got all scared and put me at the top of the list. I'm quite the businesswoman, you see."
Devi snorted an ugly laugh through her tears.
"I hope you didn't get your gross-ass mushroom and olive pizza again." Devi pouted.
"Nope!" Nova crawled over to the box and opened it; showing the contents to Devi. "I told ya, kid! You made me an all-cheese convert."
"Oh god, yeah." Devi clasped her hands together in joy after wiping her face with her sleeve. "You scared me for a second there."
Nova ripped off a slice of pizza and tactlessly shoved it down her throat before asking: "So, what're you crying about anyways?" huge, steaming globs of cheese rolled down her chin and back into the pizza box. (despite how gross that was, Devi loved her grossness so much)
"You already know why I'm crying, four-eyes." Devi sniffled and laughed again as she watched Nova's eyes widen with an immediate retort but couldn't speak due to the overflow of cheese in her mouth. "I'm just... I'm gonna miss you."
Nova gulped her food down loudly and sighed deeply in pain. "What a pisser!" she dropped the rest of the pizza back into the box. "It's like eating lava, fuck!"
Even coated in grease as Nova was, Devi took this time to crawl forward and embrace the sea otter; her tiny rabbit tail wagging rapidly. "I love you so much."
"Kid," Nova inhaled and exhaled as fast as she could; trying to get that burning sensation out of her mouth. "Not. The best time to say that. But. I. Love you too. Ow!"
Devi knew not to give up and, in her usual way, tipped Nova over; plopping on top of her and moving in for a long kissing session with the sea otter's burning mouth. Nova's hair was spilled all over the carpeted floor, her glasses were crooked and she was pinned down by a tiny rabbit; all was well.
After a bit, Devi sat up; keeping Nova pinned down with her thighs. She smiled with unsure seductiveness; half of her face covered by a beanie as well. In her typical fashion, she lifted and pulled her own shirt off.
Nova assumed they were just going to get into a little bit of a grabby game until she noticed that Devi was starting to take off her pants as well.
Nova cleared her throat. "Uhh. Hey Dev." she looked at the closed door to the room. "You think your dads are going to be gone long or wha?"
"I don't care." Devi sharply responded; rolling her underwear off. "This is our last day together... and I wanna do... a thing."
Nova paused for a long time as her lips very slowly curled into a smile. "Oh jeez, my prayers have been answe--"
She was cut off by Devi hooking her fingers into the loops of Nova's tight jeans; pulling them down her legs with a bit of the sea otter's help.
"Hah. Dev, uh, you in a hurry or wh-?" Nova asked but, before she could continue speaking, her voice broke into a small squeaky moan as Devi introduced her to oral sex for the first time.
They were both inexperienced at it as Devi just sort of haphazardly lapped at Nova but either way it was something spontaneously special. Nova quickly accepted it; spreading her legs out gradually as time rolled by.
When it came time for Nova to give Devi a turn, Devi shook her head with refusal and responded: "You know... there's something more special I wanted from you."
"Y-yeah...?" Nova replied anxiously; lowering her gaze a bit. "...but I still wanna do what you just did to me." she whined.
"Well... uh..." Devi stood up and walked over to her closet; assumed previously to just be empty. "...we both know that you were basically the boy in this relationship so uh. I... just take off your clothes."
"Uh... yes, ma'am?" Nova did what she was told as Devi rooted around in her closet. "I don't see what you're getting at though, kid."
"Well," Devi pulled out a box and gripped it tightly; hiding it with her body. "When I ordered up that last bit of horror movie stuff... and you know, sold some of the extra stuff... uh..."
"Yeah, that stuff was great!" Nova interjected loudly; finishing taking off the rest of her clothes to reveal her slender but more developed form.
"But it's not... the horror stuff I wanted to talk about right now..." Devi gulped. "...you know how we were talking about how uh... when I move away, we should get together with other people just to see if we'd still be interested in coming back to each other way later?"
"...yeah?" Nova tilted her head and approached Devi.
The small rabbit jumped apprehensively as Nova slung her arm around Devi's waist; peering over at the unmarked box in Devi's hands.
"Uhm... yeah..." Devi gulped again as she began to open the box. "...I'd like my first time to be with you, obviously..." she could feel unwanted tears rolling down her cheeks as she shut her eyes and held the box up to Nova.
Nova's eyes lit up and immediately knew what Devi was asking for. "Aahhh! Kid, you crack me up." she shoved the young rabbit around playfully so that they were facing each other. She then took the box. "Firstly, and importantly, you know I love you, Dev." she snickered at the contents of the box. "Secondly, I'm gonna fuck the hell out of you." she dropped the box to reveal her with a strap-on in her grasp.
Devi blushed hard at the sentiment and took a step back nervously.
"Another firstly!" Nova continued as she mustered up the rest of her courage. "I gotta do the thing you did to me first, dumbass. Fair's fair."
"Wait, wha?" Devi felt her long ears droop even lower and her eyebrow shot up as the sea otter sprung forward and knocked both of them to the floor. With both of them nude, it was easy for Nova to get her way as she ran her tongue down Devi's body towards her destination.
"I bought that thing for y-you, you know!" Devi choked out as she felt Nova's oral to be far more rough and intense than the one she delivered earlier. "You're gonna use it... right? B-before you make me... you know... finish?"
Nova lifted her head a little just so Devi could see the sea otter's eyes from between her legs. "Duh, kid." she chuckled. "Though, I think it's cute that you think you're only going to cum once."
