His mind raced as he was once again overwhelmed with questions, where they were going had been answered, now the answer to the why seemed to be drawing ever closer and it brought the Outlander cub little comfort.\n\nAt last they reached the end of the path, and Simba paused much to Kovu’s surprise allowing Vitani’s smaller legs to catch up. This pause gave Kovu a brief moment to look around, to his left a promontory, rising even higher to into the sky. While Kovu couldn’t see over it, he imagined he could see the entire Pridelands if he stood at the end of it. The thoughts of the wonders that he would be able to see, caused the young cub to give a slight smile.\n\nOnce again, Simba’s movements interrupted Kovu’s thoughts, Vitani had caught up to them. Simba started walking forward again but, this time it was only a few steps, just enough to step in front of the mouth of a cave to the right that Kovu had completely overlooked until now. Despite it just being a cave entrance, there was still something about it that caused Kovu to marvel at its appearance. Maybe it was the size of the entrance, its enormity looked as though an elephant could walk through it without pause. Maybe it was the way the light so suddenly disappeared as if the mouth of the cave quite literally swallowed up any light that tried to enter.\n\nA sudden shift in the darkness caught Kovu’s attention, while his eyes couldn’t properly adjust to the darkness while he still was in the sun, he could just make out that someone or something was moving about in the dark. Suddenly another shift and Kovu could see the silhouette of a figure appear from the blackness, while Kovu couldn’t be sure he thought that it was the outline of a lion. \n\nMoving steadily and menacingly through the darkness, it was like one of Kovu’s nightmares come to life. As the figure started to grow larger, a pair of glowing eyes suddenly pierced through the darkness causing Kovu to gasp. The figure coming toward them was definitely a lion or more specifically a lioness, even with his vision dulled by the sun her features became clearer with every step she took towards them. \n\nFinally, she reached the mouth of the cave but, instead of stepping into the sun, she stayed just inside the mouth of the cave, letting the perfect amount of light and dark wash over her. Kovu felt that Simba was intentionally making sure that he faced perfectly forward, almost as if he was forcing Kovu to admire the lioness. \n\nAdmire her he did, despite being hindered by the darkness and her frightening entrance her body was certainly something to admire. This was Simba’s mate and Queen of the Pridelands, with this revelation he let her previous words sink in.\n\nUnfortunately he turned his attention back to reality just in time to see Nala slowly run her tongue across her black lips. With a deep hunger in her eyes, she smiled as Kovu’s chin shook in fear, his renewed attempts to free himself from Simba’s teeth were futile. Simba hadn’t spared him for any noble reason, he had merely delayed his end so that he could provide fresh meat for his Queen.\n\n“Why don’t you come inside young prince?” Nala said showing her deadly teeth, in a smile that sent chills down Kovu’s spine. Of course she wasn’t truly talking to him as he was currently suspended in the air, her command had been to her mate, who Kovu could hear grumble in displeasure and pause for a moment. Enough time for the Queen to slowly turn around, the parts of her that had been illuminated by the sun being swallowed by the darkness once again.\n\nMuch to Kovu’s surprise, as she walked further into the cave she swung her tail much higher and in wider strokes then a lion usually would. The result being that like Vitani who had walked in front of his with her tail erect, Kovu could see under the Queens tail. This caused him to feel hot once again and a tingling feeling to start between his legs. This continued until Simba shook his head, the sudden movement breaking Kovu’s trance and causing his body to slightly swing back and forth. This was accompanied by a less then pleased growl from the King, apparently he didn’t like him staring at his Queen or at least her backside.\n\nFinally Simba followed his mate’s wishes and started to move towards the cave, from the softer footfall next to them it seemed Vitani was content with remaining at Simba’s side. Kovu could only whimper as they drew closer to the darkness of the cave, his lower jaw shaking, and his heart was racing. Why, he thought, why am I still alive? Why are they…teasing me?\n\nAs Simba carried him across the dark threshold of the caves entrance, Kovu gulped one final time, this was the end.\n\nNote: Well I manage to get one more done before Christmas, might try to get another done but, no promises. As usually my compliments to Backlash91, when I commissioned this I asked him to make Nala look like a monster coming out of the dark, something to scare Kovu but, we know her true intentions. Now we are getting to the parts that most have been waiting for, still planning out a few of the middle pages but, the ending I have all planned out. Fair warning its going to be awhile before we get to that.
