"description": "Redemption Part Five\n\nKovu’s eyes grew wider as they approached the base of Priderock, it was one thing to see it from a distance but, now its majestic enormity, overshadowed them all. The cub tried to look around the best he could but, his attempts were hindered by the lion that held the nape of his neck in his maw. Strangely despite this being the most important place in the Pridelands for Simba’s pride, there were no guards. No lions watching over their kings holdings, no hunters bringing in food, their wasn’t even any lionesses lounging in the shade of Priderock or the numerous trees that surrounded it.\n\nThe lack of other creatures or any kind near the Lion King’s home unnerved Kovu. That was until he saw a bird fly over their heads, it circled several times looking down at the trio. Thankfully the sun was not in a position to obstruct Kovu’s view as he looked up at the bird. As he squinted to get a better look at it he realized that it was the same bird that had flow over them early. The bird circled one last time, then flew toward the entrance to a cave at the end of a path that led up Priderock that Kovu could barely make out.\n\n Flying into the caves entrance, the bird wasn’t even gone a minute before reappearing and making a beeline straight toward the lions. Much to Kovu’s surprise, it slowed but, didn’t divert away from the lions and Kovu flinched thinking the avian was going to crash into them. Instead it flew past them and though he couldn’t see it, he heard the beat of its wings and the cool air they produced.\n\nSuddenly the sound stopped and Kovu heard someone clear their throat, Kovu let out an auditable “Huh” when he realized that the bird must have landed on Simba’s back or shoulder. This couldn’t be, the King was letting a little bird perch on him but, then it spoke and Kovu knew that is exactly what had happened “Sire” he heard the bird say, sounding formal “Everything is ready, and Queen Nala is waiting.” Kovu gulped wondering what that meant. “Good Zazu” Kovu heard Simba say, the feeling of the lions mouth partial moving made Kovu hope that one of Simba’s teeth wouldn’t cut into him. “Make sure we’re not bothered till sundown” the King said and with that Kovu heard the flap of wings and then silence telling him that the bird had left.\n\nLeft confused, Kovu failed to see that Vitani had increased her pace in order to catch up and speak with him. “That was Zazu.” she said looking at her brother hanging helplessly from the Kings mouth. “He’s Simba’s Majordomo. He’s quite good at keeping track of what happens in the Pridelands.” As Kovu looked down at his sister their eyes locked, he stared into those beautiful blue eyes for what seemed like an eternity. What he saw was not the eyes of someone that had betrayed him to his death but, someone very content with putting him in this hazardous situation.\n\n“Still” his sister said as she turned her head to look forward once again “I want to eat him.” This comment gave Kovu pause as this sounded more like the sister that he knew.\n\nKovu’s thoughts were again interrupted by Simba’s sudden movement. This time it was a sudden jump onto a large rock that was at the bottom of the path that led up Priderock. Kovu’s heart raced as it seemed their journey was coming to an end and his fate would quite literally be decided in the lion’s den. \n\nNotes: Apologies for the delay on this, computer went haywire and I had to fix it before I could post this. Since this page is so close to the last I made it short, the next page will be the same way, saving the longer parts for the more intimate scenes. Not going to lie I may take a break from writing this temporarily, the passion I had when starting this has faded a bit, most likely due to the depression of not having the means to continue the visual part of the series till probably next year.
