I created her as a longhaired, blue-grey tabby lady cat in a story I started writing... sheesh, must have the been the late 1990's, [i]maybe[/i] the early 2000's. That story developed a bit strangely; initially it featured sentient feral cats working in a large company doing Research and Development on all kinds of software and hardware, but slowly it changed to include all kinds of other machinery and studies in a much wider field of subjects, including biology and astrology, and the cats gradually shifted from feral to anthropomorphic. I never finished the story; it consisted of many loose parts and scenes that needed braiding together, and with shifts from computer to computer, it eventually got lost.\n\nMay here began life as, like mentioned, a quite simple longhaired blue-grey tabby cat, being the head of the Biological Department. And even though her fur was much more natural back then, her name already was Mayflower, and her last name was a foreign word for orange blossom, but changed to Blossom for simplicity.\n\nFast forward a couple of decades. In a game where you could get a number of semi-anthro, semi-feral animal characters to run a number of different stores and production facilities, I revived May for the role of botanist, as I remembered her from the old story and it fit her. I eventually stopped playing the game, but I kept May around; I had updated her to make her look more special, with cornflower blue fur and some green accents, and decided to make her an inhabitant of my Minnaluna world, as a botanist with a penchant for growing giant flowers.\nShe was first mentioned in one of the installments in my Fangle Farmstead story series, and even featured in an artwork or two - back then with ginger hair and additional nipples, but I have updated that since then as well, removing the additional nipples and making her hair the same color as her dyed tabby markings.\n\nOnce I started writing the introduction story for my mousie mechanic Missy that got so terribly out of hand that at the moment of typing this it's at 1482 pages and still not finished, May poked her head up again after the introduction of my meek, shy skunkette Fanni into the story; Fanni mentioned she had a small landscaping company together with a close friend from Pine Corner named May who could grow really big flowers. In all honesty I had at that moment forgotten May already had her own company, but as that little bit of trivia returned to my brainbox, I worked around it by making May a silent partner in the landscaping company, mainly providing flowering plants, advice, and some help with things Fanni couldn't do herself.\nNow, as Fanni was hired by Missy to beautify the grounds of the garage Missy inherited, she had to call on May for help with the building of brick planters and, mostly, routing electrical wires to them for the lights that are meant to go in there. This means that May is getting a more prominent role, so she should be officially added to my collection of lovely ladies!\n\nI actually started making a ref sheet for May with the aid of the Babe Base Pack by Bourbon. over on FA, but I couldn't quite get it to work.
