Rainbows glittered with a lot of colors in the light. Little twinkle-stars were playfully chasing each other through the clouds. Baby Hugs and Baby Tugs were playing in a small inflatable kiddie-pool, while Grams was sitting in a rocking chair, in the shadow of a large tree, knitting something. Funshine was sun-bathing on one of the higher clouds, a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses on her yellow heart-shaped nose. Cheer Bear soon joined her, under a pair of star-shaped sunglasses. Wish Bear was scanning the Earth through the staroscope, but nothing happened down there. Well, it also was just too hot to make trouble.\n\nAt the Hall of Hearts, Tenderheart Bear had gathered a crew of bears to do a bit of work on the hall (again, yes), but he had called it a day after the temperature had climbed to above the nineties. All bears were sweating with the heat, and they couldn't continue painting anyway, the heat making the brushes stick to the walls of the Hall of Hearts. And besides, paint-fumes can get really intoxicating, especially when it's over 90 or 100 degrees hot, so then even being above the clouds like in the Kingdom of Caring didn't really help anymore. Therefore, Tenderheart thanked everyone for showing up, but said they'd better finish some other time, when it wouldn't be so insanely hot. Gratefully, the bears put away the buckets of paint and the sticky brushes, cleaned themselves a bit, and then just started doing nothing besides trying to stay as cool as possible. That was hard enough work in itself. To give an example: it was so unbelievably warm, Bedtime Bear couldn't get to sleep.\n\nAs one of the bears thinking up a way to stay cool, Forest Friend Bear got a great idea for just that. She decided to take a long walk in the Forest of Feelings. Not just because she simply loooooved the forest. Also because the Forest of Feelings was below Care a Lot, and it was bound to be a bit cooler there. So, the tan bear prepared a little something to eat and a little something to drink, packed it in a small backpack, and took her Rainbow Roller to get down to the Forest of Feelings. She never took a Cloudsmobile. Cars are bad for the environment. Alright, and so maybe Cloudsmobiles don't pollute, it's about the principle.\n\nCalmly navigating her Rainbow Roller, Forest Friend rode through the sweltering Care a Lot slowly, stopping every now and then to have a chat with one of her friends. She also offered them to join her on her walk in the forest, but they mostly refused politely. A lot of them had already found ways to stay cool. Champ Bear was for instance weight-lifting huge blocks of ice, which of course slowly melted, this not only making it easier for him to lift them, but the water running down him also was a very pleasant refreshment. Good Luck Bear had managed to make a very big fan from a huge four-leafed clover, which almost blew him over, but was nicely cooling (don't ask me [i]how[/i] he managed it; I tried and [i]I[/i] sure couldn't get it to work). Love-a-Lot Bear was lounging in a chair under a large sunshade, pouring down lemonade with ice-cubes in it frequently. Over her face. Hey, it helped. Bedtime Bear, after several failed attempts to get comfy anyplace, had finally decided on napping in the bath-tub filled with cool water, which also worked, although it did make his fur look funny. Sea Friend Bear stayed cool by envisioning swimming in huge oceans. Great what a little imagination can do. Tenderheart Bear had climbed up on top of the Hall of Hearts, lying down near the outlet of the airco, which also proved rather helpful. Albeit that the chilly air the airco puffed out was a bit musty since it came from inside the Hall of Hearts, but that was no big deal. And there also wasn't any risk he would stick to the roof of the Hall of Hearts, since the bears hadn't even gotten to painting the roof yet. Only Grumpy Bear just couldn't seem to find a way to stay cool, but hey, if he would have then that would have been a reason for him to stop complaining, and that just doesn't seem right.\n\nAfter having gone all through Care a Lot and having found no one who desired to join her in the Forest of Feelings, Forest Friend Bear just went on by herself, not minding being alone either. She calmly steered her Rainbow Roller down a rainbow path towards the Forest of Feelings, and when she'd arrived there she got out and snapped her fingers, making the Rainbow Roller disappear. Holding the small backpack under one arm (it was a bit too warm to carry it on her back), the tan CareBear started strolling through the forest, slowly, taking up every detail of her surroundings, and enjoying them like only she could. The dancing sparkles on the water of the Rainbow River, the happy song of birds, the gentle rustle of a slight breeze through the foliage of the trees, even the tiniest flower in the grass, it all filled Forest Friend Bear with a feeling of utter happiness and peace with her surroundings. When walking through a forest, the tan CareBear could get just as dreamy as Daydream Bear always was, and she could lose herself in a leisurely stroll for hours on end, never growing tired of all the things around her.\n\nAfter quite some time, however, Forest Friend did feel a need to sit down for a while, maybe have a bite to eat. She located one of the most beautiful spots found in the Forest of Feelings, quite close to the fen where the Rainbow River tumbled down into from a wall of overgrown rocks. This was the place where you right away understood how the Rainbow River had gotten its name. The water splattering down on the rocks in the fen formed a fine mist, and the sun always filtering through the trees struck myriads of rainbows from that mist. Forest Friend sank down in the grass, looked around her with a dreamy smile and a soft sigh, and started unpacking her backpack.\n\nWhile she was at that, the tan CareBear suddenly noticed another bear strolling towards the fen. Seeing no more than flashes of purple fur between the trees mostly, Forest Friend first thought it was Harmony Bear. But quite soon she checked herself. It couldn't be Harmony. For one thing, the purple bear was silent. Or at least not singing anything. Harmony would've been singing. Knowing there was only one other bear with purple fur in the Kingdom of Caring, Forest Friend was quite right in supposing it then was Share Bear sauntering towards the fen. As the purple bear rounded a small cluster of wild orchids and foxgloves, the sorbet-symbol on her tummy was obvious enough. That was Share Bear all over, really. The purple CareBear took all kinds of things out of her backpack. She had even thought to bring a sheet. Spreading that out on the soft grass, Share started piling all sorts of goodies on it. A large thermos of chilled lemonade, salads, sandwiches, cupcakes, a small cooler with ice-cubes in it, and a couple of her special Share-alike Shakes. How she'd managed to get all that into her backpack? Don't ask me. Pack-a-Magic's my best guess (this only understandable for those who've seen the deleted scenes of Care Bears IV; Journey to Joke-a-lot ). Forest Friend giggled a bit and also unpacked her backpack, taking out only the couple of sandwiches and the small thermos of tea (can be quite refreshing on hot days) she had taken with her.
