Once they were covered they ran out of the bathroom letting Francine head in then went to the bedroom to dry off the rest of the way. She went back and came out a few moments later with 2 more plates for Eric and Michael then once more for her and Gran who was just now sitting. Once she sat down they all dug in. Henry’s phone pinged halfway through the meal and he checked it. “It’s mom,” the bear said “She says they’re changing his sheets and stuff, no changes in his condition but she does notice a few twitches when she held his paw and talked to him last night” “Well that could be a good sign” Julia smiled “It could” Francine agreed Michael nodded also and smiled. “I’ll sit with him for a few then I wanna go see Thomas, I told him I’d drop by if I have time” “Don’t forget to call Uncle Leroy” Julia reminded him Michael froze and face pawed as he had almost forgotten that. Leroy’s voice mail told him yesterday told him he was getting hitched and he wanted to talk to his brother about that, Michael made a mental note to call Leroy at lunch, then got see Thomas. After they finished breakfast Julia and David went in and washed dishes while the others got ready. Once they finished they got in there vehicles and made there way back to the hospital. Upon arrival they saw Fern and JJ were already there and they parked and made there way inside and to Jim’s Room. Gretta spotted Michael and stood up as he came in. “He’s still asleep” Gretta said. “He’s been twitching some, Tim thinks there’s a chance he’ll wake up“ Michael smiled and looked at jim who was still out then then looked back at Gretta. “How can I ever thank you for watching him for me” “Think nothing of it” She smiled “Consider it a down payment on a long over due debt for watching over my boy during my hard times” Michael nodded and gave her a kiss on the cheek which she returned. Henry offered his mom the keys but she waived her paw. “Nicks coming to pick me up, I’m too exhausted to drive. Drop it off tonight when you come home okay honey?” “Sure thing mom” Henry nodded. She smiled and they heard her phone ping “Oh that must be him. If you need me again Michael let me know” She said “For anything” “I will” Michael nodded She left and they made there way inside the room JJ fern and Hennery were no where to be found. Even though they saw there car, Michael sat by jim and held his paw. He thought about earlier with Eric and how Jim might feel when he woke up? Would he be mad? Michael hugged him back “You have a good sleep over at JJ’s?” “Yeah “ He nodded “I had to change James and Corey this morning though” JJ and Fern smirked and Michael tilted his head. “He was grossed out till I told him how I had to do the same to him when he was younger” JJ explained “Same here” Julia agreed. “I did it once too” Henry said Michael gave a chuckle remembering that too. Hennery’s ears folded back in embarrassment. “Oh don;t feel bad honey. All three of them were grossed out too” Michael explained. “But they got over it eventually.” Hennery gave a half smile and nodded. Luckily further talk on the topic was interrupted by a male coyote doctor coming in Carrying Jim’s chart. He looked around the room and gave a smile before talking in a smooth yet deep voice “Hi everyone, I’m Dr. Abraham Smith, Tim’s in surgery right now and won’t be available till later, but he’s brought me up to speed on everything and everyone.” “Nice to meet you” Michael said standing up offering a paw “I’m his husband Michael, My kids Hennery, henry JJ Julia, my son-in-laws Fern and David and Jim’s brother Eric and mother Francine” “Pleasure to meet you all” He smiled and shook Michaels paw. “Well firstly I want you all to know I’m an open minded coyote, I heard what happened a few nights ago and want you to know you have my sincerest support.” Michael smiled as did everyone. “And lastly I’m just here to check his vitals and let you all know, Tim has had conferences with multiple medical experts and from some of the signs we’re seeing, There is a chance we could see him wake up in a few days…a small chance but still a chance” “That’s wonderful!” Michael said. “I’ll be here everyday till he does” Everyone agreed except fern who looked down. “I won’t be around starting tomorrow,” Fern said “I tried to get more time off, but my…boss said I need to be back at work tomorrow unfortunately. “We understand,and we’ll keep you informed” Michael nodded understandingly. Dr. Smith couldn’t help but smile at them as he checked out Jim’s vitals and made some notes.he finished and made his way out. Francine was listening to them as well as Eric and both were happy to hear there stories about her son.
