Everyone else around him had relationships, and he was the only one without one. Kion's melancholic mood seemed to bring everyone else down with him, unbeknownst to him. Kion was in his room wallowing, until Simba walked in.\n\n“Kion, I need you to go on a patrol with the guard.”\n“Hi, dad! Yeah I'm good thanks for asking!” Kion retorted sarcastically.\nSimba snarled.\n“Do not talk to me like that, I am your father! Go on the patrol!”\nKion scoffed. \n“But we've already been on one today!”\n“Kion, as leader of the Lion Guard, it is your duty! Simba sighed angrily.\n\n\n“Ugh, what is with him recently?” Kiara said.\nAll members of the royal family were in pride rock apart from Kion.\n“He's growing up, Simba.” Nala said. “It's natural.”\n“Yes, but it doesn't excuse his behaviour!”\nSimba said through gritted teeth.\n“He's been like this for days now!”\nJust then they heard a knock on the door. Simba got up to answer.\n\n“Ah, Ono. How is everything?”\n“Everything's great, your highness! We pushed the hyenas back earlier, they were making a mess of things as usual.”\n“Excellent, thank you Ono. Before you go, I don't suppose you've seen Kion have you?”\nOno sighed.\n\n“Not since we cleared out the hyenas, no. He just ran off after that.”\n\nSimba tutted.\n\n“Well, thank you anyway, Ono. Be sure to give the guard my personal thanks.”\n\n“Thank you, your highness!”\n\nOno flew away, leaving Simba and the rest of them worried.\n\n“Where could he be?” Simba muttered.\n\n“He does like wandering off.” Kiara mentioned.\n\n“Yes but not for this long!” Simba paced the room up and down.\n\n“Pacing won't be of any help, Simba!” Nala said.\n\n“Well we can't just go looking for him without getting a clue of his whereabouts!”\n\nSimba sighed.\n\n“Kovu? Has he talked to you about anything?”\n\n“Well, uh, I think I know why he's upset.”\n\nEveryone in the room turned to look at him. Kiara gave him a deadeye.\n\n“Why didn't you say anything sooner? \n\n“Cause I didn't know if I should or not! Anyway, I have a strong feeling he's upset cause he doesn't have anyone in his life yet, like romantically.”\n\nSimba and Nala looked at each other.\n\n“Simba! Have you had the talk with him?” Nala asked.\n\nSimba and Kovu both blushed a little.\n\n“Uh, yeah. I have.” He brushed his mane and looked down as he said this.\n\n“He uh, actually asked me about it a few days ago.” Kovu commented.\n\n“I- I just went over the basic stuff with him.” He chuckled nervously. \n\nThere was an awkward silence for a few moments.\n\n“Anyway, he's probably out somewhere wallowing.” Kiara said. “You know how he is.”\n\nNala got up.\n\n“I'm going out to look for him. You're all welcome to come with me.”\n\nShe left in a hurry. The rest of them followed suit.\n\n\nKion was led on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the pridelands. He was indeed wallowing. Surely there was someone out there for him. Unfortunately he couldn't be with Kovu, even if they both felt the same way about each other. His night with Kovu made him realise that he needed someone. Everyone else around him had relationships, and he was the only one without one. Kion's melancholic mood seemed to bring everyone else down with him, unbeknownst to him. Kion was in his room wallowing, until Simba walked in.

“Kion, I need you to go on a patrol with the guard.”
“Hi, dad! Yeah I'm good thanks for asking!” Kion retorted sarcastically.
Simba snarled.
“Do not talk to me like that, I am your father! Go on the patrol!”
Kion scoffed. 
“But we've already been on one today!”
“Kion, as leader of the Lion Guard, it is your duty! I shouldn't need to remind you!”
“Fine!”
Kion stormed outside.

“Kion, don't think you're off the hook young man!”
Simba tailed him and grabbed his arm.
“What has you in such a foul mood?”
Kion broke free of his father's grip.
“You wouldn't understand! Just leave me alone!”
Kion ran off in tears.
The commotion got the other members of the pride to look over at them. Simba sighed angrily.


“Ugh, what is with him recently?” Kiara said.
All members of the royal family were in pride rock apart from Kion.
“He's growing up, Simba.” Nala said. “It's natural.”
“Yes, but it doesn't excuse his behaviour!”
Simba said through gritted teeth.
“He's been like this for days now!”
Just then they heard a knock on the door. Simba got up to answer.

“Ah, Ono. How is everything?”
“Everything's great, your highness! We pushed the hyenas back earlier, they were making a mess of things as usual.”
“Excellent, thank you Ono. Before you go, I don't suppose you've seen Kion have you?”
Ono sighed.

“Not since we cleared out the hyenas, no. He just ran off after that.”

Simba tutted.

“Well, thank you anyway, Ono. Be sure to give the guard my personal thanks.”

“Thank you, your highness!”

Ono flew away, leaving Simba and the rest of them worried.

“Where could he be?” Simba muttered.

“He does like wandering off.” Kiara mentioned.

“Yes but not for this long!” Simba paced the room up and down.

“Pacing won't be of any help, Simba!” Nala said.

“Well we can't just go looking for him without getting a clue of his whereabouts!”

Simba sighed.

“Kovu? Has he talked to you about anything?”

“Well, uh, I think I know why he's upset.”

Everyone in the room turned to look at him. Kiara gave him a deadeye.

“Why didn't you say anything sooner? 

“Cause I didn't know if I should or not! Anyway, I have a strong feeling he's upset cause he doesn't have anyone in his life yet, like romantically.”

Simba and Nala looked at each other.

“Simba! Have you had the talk with him?” Nala asked.

Simba and Kovu both blushed a little.

“Uh, yeah. I have.” He brushed his mane and looked down as he said this.

“He uh, actually asked me about it a few days ago.” Kovu commented.

“I- I just went over the basic stuff with him.” He chuckled nervously. 

There was an awkward silence for a few moments.

“Anyway, he's probably out somewhere wallowing.” Kiara said. “You know how he is.”

Nala got up.

“I'm going out to look for him. You're all welcome to come with me.”

She left in a hurry. The rest of them followed suit.


Kion was led on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the pridelands. He was indeed wallowing. Surely there was someone out there for him. Unfortunately he couldn't be with Kovu, even if they both felt the same way about each other. Kion sighed as a tear rolled down his cheek.

“Nice view, huh?” He heard behind him.
He turned around to see Vitani, Kovu's sister.

“Oh hey Vitani.”
“Geez Kion, lighten up a little. You sound depressed.” She joked.

“Yeah, sorry.”

“Mind if I join you?” She asked politely.

“Sure.”

Vitani led down next to him.

“What're you doing up here anyway?”

“Could ask you the same thing.”

Vitani smirked.

“Hey I asked first! Come on, spill it!” She joked.

“I uh, just needed to get away from my family for a bit.”

Vitani lightly chuckled.

“Yeah, I know that feeling.”

“How about you anyway?”

She blushed a little.

“Oh! Well, see this is kinda embarrassing but, do you think I could go on a few patrols with you and the guard?”

Kion smiled for the first time in days.

“Yeah sure! No problem!”

Vitani smiled.

“Oh thank you Kion!”

“What made you wanna patrol with us anyway?” Kion asked.

Vitani ever so slightly blushed.

“Well uh… I wanna see more of the pride lands I guess.”

Kion and Vitani stared into each other's eyes.

“I'd be happy to show you around.”

Kion said softly.

They both smiled at each other.

“Kion, I…” Vitani began, but a voice interrupted them.

“Kion!” 

Simba, Nala, Kovu, Kiara, and Mufasa all showed up.

“Looks like all the royal family members have showed up!” Vitani said. “How long have you been gone for Kion?”

“Too long.” Simba said coldly.

“We were worried about you Kion!” Nala said.

“Sorry mom! I didn't mean to worry you…”

“What were you two talking about?” Simba commanded.

“Kion said I could help with the patrols tomorrow, your highness.” Vitani told Simba.

“Ah, very well.” Simba responded.

“Let's head home, it's getting late.”

They all walked back to pride rock together, with Kion and Vitani hanging back a bit to talk to each other.


By the time they arrived at pride rock, the moonlight shone brightly.

“Night, Kion.” Vitani said as she smiled at him.

“Night, Vitani.” Kion smiled back.

She walked over to where the Lionesses slept while looking back at Kion. He was in a trance, he couldn't stop staring at her. 

“What, no goodnight for your own brother?”

Kovu teased.

“Heh, typical. You okay, Kion?”

Kion broke out of his trance.

“What?”

“I said are you okay?”

Kion's smile widened.

“Never better.”

He walked into his bedroom with Kovu stood there bewildered.

“You coming, Kovu?” He heard Kiara say.

“Yeah.” Kovu said as he brushed his mane.

“Everything alright, love?” Kiara said as she rubbed Kovu's chest intimately.

“Yeahhhh… it's just that, this morning Kion was really down, but now he seems really happy.”

“Who cares? As long as he's okay now, that's the main thing.” Kiara kissed him.

“Yeah.” Kovu said softly.

“Come to bed, Kovu. I'll make it worthwhile…”

She said seductively.

Kovu chuckled and picked her up. Kiara giggled.

“If you insist!” 

Kovu kissed her, carried her into their bedroom and shut the door.

It was the early morning and Kion eagerly woke up to start the first patrol. He hadn't been this excited for a patrol in a long time, cause it meant that he'd spend more time with Vitani. He really enjoyed her company last night.

Simba and Kovu were already up eating breakfast.

“Oh hey dad! Hey Kovu!”

“Morning, Son. What are you doing up so early?”

“Oh I'm heading out on patrol!”

Simba gave him a funny look.

“You've changed your tune!” Kovu chuckled.

“Yeah, well it's a new day. See ya!”

Kion rushed out the door.

“I wonder why he's so chipper all of a sudden!” Simba said.

“I mean, ever since he disappeared yesterday, he's been his usual self again. You don't think he likes Vitani do you?”

Kovu gasped and spit out his drink.

“What makes you say that?” 

“Isn't it obvious?” Simba said.

“Now that I think about it, yeah. It does. I just never imagined Kion being with her I guess.”


Kion ran over to the Lionesses, where Vitani was already up. 

“Hey Vitani!” Kion greeted her with a warm smile.

Vitani returned his smile.

“Hey Kion!”

“Ready to go?”

“Yeah!”

Kion and Vitani walked off.

“Where are the others?” She asked.

“Well uh, I thought I could show you around first! No better time than the sunrise!”

Vitani blushed a little.

“Oh Um, Great!” She chuckled nervously.

“The pridelands look beautiful in the morning don't you think?” Kion said as he smiled at her.

“Yeah, amazing!” She said as they both stared at sunrise.

“Anyway what was it that you wanted to say to me last night?”

Vitani nervously brushed her hair.

“Well, uh… I'm not really sure how to say this.”

Kion's heart leapt. He was doing his best to remain calm.

Out of instinct, he held Vitani's paw. 

“It's okay, you can tell me anything.” He said with a shaking voice.

Kion and Vitani stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, before they both leaned in towards each other. As their lips were about to touch, they heard…

“Kion!”
They both quickly backed away from each other.
“Oh hey Bunga!” Kion said. “I was just uh…”

“Kion had something on his face!” Vitani said. Kion nodded vigorously.

“Yeah! Nothing else!”

“Riiiiiiight….” Bunga said, giving Kion a smirk.

“What are you doing out here anyway?” Kion asked Bunga.

“Wondering what you're doing out here! It's too early for patrol yet!”

“I was just showing Vitani around! She wanted to join us on a patrol today.”

“Okay cool!” Bunga replied enthusiastically.

“I should go and get ready for it, uh… I'll see you guys later.” Vitani walked off to pride rock.

Kion stared at her dreamily as she walked off. Bunga clicked in front of him.

“Kionnnnn…” he said in a drawn out voice, teasing him.

Kion went bright red.
“What? Oh come on! We're just friends!”
“Suuuuure…”
Kion playfully slapped Bunga.

“Knock it off dude!”

Bunga laughed as they both walked off. Admittedly he was a little annoyed at Bunga for disrupting their moment but if they both liked each other, they would have their moment soon enough.


It was the early evening by the time they finished their patrol and Kion was sitting on top of pride rock admiring the sunset with Kiara. 

“Some view huh?” Kiara said.

“Yeah.” Kion replied, staring off into the distance.

Kiara looked at her brother, who looked distracted.
“Kion?” She put a paw on his shoulder. “You okay?”
Kion sighed. “Is it that obvious?”

Kiara sniggered.
“Are you kidding? The whole pride lands know when you're pouting!” She joked.

“Ha-ha!” Kion said in a jokey tone, then sighed.

“It's just that-”

“Hey, Kion!”

They heard behind them. It was Vitani.

“Hey Kiara!”

She had a swagger about her as she strides towards them.

“Hi!” Kion said dreamily.

“Hey Vitani. I'll uh- give you two some space.”

Kiara winked at Kion. Did she know that he liked her?

“Bye.” Vitani awkwardly waved her goodbye, then turned to Kion and smiled.

“I just wanted to say thank you for letting me patrol with you today!”

“Oh it's no problem! I-”

Kion was interrupted by Vitani pressing her head against Kion's mane. His heart leapt and was caught off guard, but he embraced her warmly. His heart was beating rapidly and started trembling slightly.

He felt Vitani hold his paw.

“Vitani, I- I don't know what to say.” He said softly.

“I know exactly what you wanna say.” She whispered in his ear. They both stared into each other's eyes. Vitani had a seductive smile on her face, while Kion wore a nervous but excited expression and chuckled nervously.

“Took you long enough.” She said before pulling him in for a passionate kiss. Kion closed his eyes, savouring the moment.

They both moaned softly before breaking apart. They both smiled and chuckled before kissing again, this time being slightly aggressive.

Vitani broke off.

“Shall we go somewhere more private?”

“Yeah.” Kion said breathlessly. Is this what love felt like? Vitani grabbed his paw and dragged him as they both laughed and giggled.

“Let's go to my bedroom! I think my mom and dad are out.” Kion suggested.

“Perfect!”

“Shh! We gotta be quiet!” Kion whispered.

“Kovu and Kiara are still here!”

“Okay!” Vitani whispered back while giggling.

“Go! Go!” He ushered her in the direction of his bedroom. She made it undetected, so it was Kion's turn. 

“Kion?” He heard Kiara say. 

“Whatcha doing? And where's Vitani?”

Kion went bright red.

“Oh heyyy!” He said with a nervous wave.

“Vitani wanted to come on an early morning patrol tomorrow morning so uh, I told her she should get some sleep! Anyway I'm going to bed, night sis. Night Kovu!”

Kion awkwardly walked to his bedroom, cringing from the awkward interaction.

“He's not a very good liar is he?” Kovu said.
“Haha nope!” Kiara chuckled. “Wanna give them some privacy?”
“Uh, yes! I don't wanna hear my sister having sex!” Kovu said.
“Ssshhhh! Keep your voice down! Do you want them to hear you?”
“Good point.” Kovu whispered.
Kovu and Kiara both left.

Vitani was waiting on the bed for Kion in a seductive pose.

“Hey, handsome.”

Kion chuckled and crawled onto the bed. Vitani pulled him in and they made out. 

“I'm presuming you didn't wanna go somewhere private just to make out did you?” Kion asked.

Vitani giggled. “What do you think?” She started kissing his neck while moaning.

“I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no.” Kion joked as he smirked.

Kion opened his eyes. It was now early morning.

He yawned and stretched before looking to his left. Vitani was still sound asleep. He must have woken her up because she stirred and slightly opened her eyes.

“Mmm. Morning, Handsome.” She said softly.

Kion smiled once again.

“Morning, beautiful.”

Vitani giggled and pulled Kion in for a quick kiss, which turned into a make out session.

“You gotta go back to the other Lionesses before my family knows you're here.”

Vitani sat up.

“What's wrong with your family finding out about us?” 

“Nothing! I'd just rather tell them together, I don't want them to find out like this, you know.”

“Oh, I get it!” Vitani said. Kion breathed a sigh of relief.

“Thanks! We'll tell them later today, I promise.”

The couple kissed and hugged.

“Thanks, Kion.”

“No worries!”

They snuck out of Kion's bedroom, only to be greeted by the entire royal family eating breakfast. They were all staring at Kion and Vitani as if in a trance.

“Uh… hiiii.” Vitani said while giving an awkward wave and a nervous smile.

They both stood there, blushing harder than ever.

“Wh- what are you all d-doing up so early?” Kion nervously asked.

“Are you kidding?! We could barely sleep cause of the noise you two were making!” Mufasa said.

“Ohhhhh…” Kion and Vitani said. They looked at each other and nervously chuckled.

“I'm just gonna… get the patrol ready. Vitani, are you coming, do you wanna come?” He rambled nervously.

“Yes!”

They both exited the room as quickly as possible.

“Well that was the most awkward two minutes of my life.” Kovu said.

“Ditto.” Kiara replied.

Simba just scratched his mane.

“Well, at least he's happy now right?”

“I'd be happier if they weren't so loud last night!” Nala said, annoyed.

“Come, Kiara. We better rally the lionesses and start hunting.”

“Okay.”

Kiara and Nala left the room.

“Wow, Kion was sure packing last night!” Mufasa said.

“I mean, he is big after all!” Simba said.

“Yeah he's huge! But we're talking about my sister here!” Kovu said.

“All I'm saying is, Kion must be VERY good at being on top if he was making her moan like that! You've taught him well, Simba!”
