"writing": "Joys of the Summer – Chapter Three\n\n\tUp ahead after a few more curves the road angled down towards the running waters of the Sheboygan river, a small wooden covered bridge crossing the waters and offering a place to cast off a fishing line or jump in from. It wasn't long before they all arrived at the river together.\n\n\"Ooooh, I like this place!\" yapped Jake excitedly, as he put his bike down on the grass and went over to the water, still wearing his shirt.\n\n\"Friendly, do you have my waterwings?\" asked Timothy\n\n\"Yep, hang on Timothy\" said Friendly, as he pulled a pair of yellow waterwings out of his backpack and tried to inflate them, but he wasn't very good at it. He just kept blowing raspberries instead of inflating them.\n\n\"You pull the tube all the way out?\" Sarah asked as she kicked off her shoes and dipped her paws in the water cleaning off the mud from her pelt, \"You have to pull it all the way out before blowing them up.\"\n\n\"Yes I did\" said Friendly, \"I'm just not very good at this\"\n\n\"But... but I need my waterwings!\" cried Timothy\n\n\"Sarah, do you know how to blow them up? I can't do it\" sighed Friendly\n\n\"Here I'll get it,\" Sarah said taking the floaters using her teeth to pinch open the value and blew air into the rubber band expanding them and then closing the tube. \"There you go Timothy, that should do it.\"\n\n\"Thanks Sarah\" said Friendly\n\n\"Yay! Thank you Sarah\" squeaked Timothy, as Friendly helped him put his waterwings on. \"I'm going to join Collin!\"\n\n\"Off you go then\" smiled Friendly, \"I'll join you shortly\"\n\nCollin had parked his bike on the bridge and moved to the water's edge. He pulled off his shirt and stood in his swimming shorts as he peered at the water looking for a shallow place to wade in. Jake saw Collin by the bridge and swam over to him.\n\n\"Come on Collin, the water's fine!\" he barked happily\n\n\"It's not too deep?\" Collin asked stepping in slowly getting used to the chilly water gradually, \"Maybe I should stay on the shore...\"\n\n\"Come on, you'll be fine! The water's not deep\" said Jake, putting his goggles on and going under the water, swimming along close to the bottom.\n\n\"If you say so,\" Collin edged out into the water slowly sinking in up to his waist and hugging his tail tightly as he went.\n\nFrom above Sarah took a running jump and landed close by splashing water over everyone close by as she cannoned balled into the river.\n\nTimothy then waded into the water with Collin, smiling at the white kit as he felt the cool water going up the legs of his swimming shorts.\n\n\"I'm not a good swimmer either, don't you have any waterwings like me?\" he asked\n\n\"No I don't go swimming all that much.\" Collin said sitting down on a flat stone letting the water come up to his chest. \"I've only been in pool and slides.\"\n\nPopping up deeper into the river Sarah turned around back pedaling through the water. \"Don't worry Collin, we'll keep an eye on you. Just don't go in too deep.\"\n\nTimothy felt bad for Collin.\n\n\"Collin can't swim, so he should have some waterwings like me\" he thought, \"Maybe I'll let him borrow them when I'm done in the water\"\n\nSuddenly, Timothy felt something big grab him from under the water.\n\n\"Aaaaah!!!\" cried Timothy, flailing his arms and feet as fast as he could in helpless panic, but his feet just spun helplessly and he didn't move at all through the water.\n\nFriendly chuckled as he surfaced alongside Timothy.\n\n\"It's only me\" he laughed, pulling Timothy close and hugging him. Timothy shivered a little as his friend embraced him in the cool water.\n\n\"Awww, did I frighten you? I'm sorry\" said Friendly, licking the raccoon's cheek and continuing to hug him.\n\n\"No, not really\" said Timothy, even though the fox had frightened him quite a bit. \n\nCollin shifted forward reaching out for Timothy as he flailed about in panic then pulled back once he saw it was only Friendly. Swimming up behind the white half bred Sarah cupped her paws together and squirted water out at him.\n\n\"Hey, stop it Sarah!\" The kit cried cover his ears as the jet of water hit his head, \"That's not nice.\"\n\n\"I'll stop once you start swimming,\" The red squirrel said maneuvering around her friend, \"Just a doggy paddle between the rocks, that's all. Just to prove you can do it.\"\n\nTimothy looked over at Collin, who looked a little uneasy. \"Um... do you wanna borrow my waterwings Collin?\" he asked.\n\n\"He shouldn't need them,\" Sarah called out reaching out a paw to Collin, \"Come on, just take my hand and I'll help you along the shallow parts. Just get deep enough to kick your legs and you'll see it's not that hard\"\n\n\"I guess so,\" The white kit said looking over at Timothy, the offer of borrowing the raccoon's floatation bands still going through his head before taking the squirrel's paw in his own, \"Don't let go though, I don't want to fall in\" he said to Sarah.\n\nTimothy looked at Collin as Sarah took him a little further into the deeper water. He tried to swim along with them - with the help of his waterwings - but his feet just spun helplessly in the water and he didn't move anywhere.\n\n\"Friendly, help!\" cried Timothy, beginning to pant with his efforts to join Sarah and Collin.\n\nKicking out with his legs Collin managed to keep his head above water as he clung to Sarah's paws while she guided him about the deeper water. When he heard Timothy cry out the white kit looked about worried and stopped kick. With out the aid of his legs Collin's head slipped under water and he thrashed around a bit before bobbing back up as Sarah hugged him and leaned into a back float.\n\n\"You got to keep kicking Collin,\" Sarah panted as she lead him back towards the rocks, \"Friendly is helping Timothy, focus on you own strokes.\"\n\nFriendly paddled over to the struggling raccoon and held onto his paw.\n\n\"Thank you Friendly\" smiled Timothy, as he began to move through the water with the help of his fox friend.\n\nJust then, Jake surfaced close to Collin.\n\n\"Wow, you're doing pretty good!\" he said\n\n\"I guess so,\" Collin sputtered a bit as he kicked out his legs hanging on to Sarah's paws tightly afraid to let go, \"It's not so bad. Hey Timothy want to race?\" The white kit called out having the red squirrel turn him in the right direction setting up a two man paddling team between himself and Sarah vs. Friendly and Timothy.\n\n\"Yeah! That sounds like fun!\" squeaked Timothy, as Friendly took his other paw and they all got beside each other.\n\n\"I'll go to the finishing line\" said Jake, as he dived and swam through the deep water down the river.\n\n\"We'll wait until Jake gets down there. How about you try swimming again Timothy?\" suggested Friendly, letting go of Timothy's paws and letting the raccoon float with his waterwings.\n\n\"You too Collin, try to paddle on your own,\" Sarah says keeping close, \"Reach out your arms and pull them back towards you pulling yourself in the water.\"\n\nThe white kit kicked his legs and flopped his arms in front of him treading water awkwardly moving out ahead of the red squirrel girl a bit.\n\n\"It's hard,\" Collin said, as he tried to keep above water on his own, \"Don't go far Sarah, stay close!\"\n\nTimothy looked as Collin paddled a little on his own and he tried to follow suit, but without Friendly pushing him his feet just spun in the water. He tried reaching out with his arms like Collin was doing, but he felt like he was sinking as one of his waterwings became higher than the other.\n\n\"I can't do it Friendly!\" cried Timothy\n\n\"Sshhh, it's okay Timothy, I'll help you\" said Friendly, putting one of his paws under Timothy's chest and the other on his butt, gently helping his friend through the water.\n\n\"Hurry up Timothy I'm winning!\" Collin panted as he made it a couple more feet awkwardly splashing about as he followed Sarah towards Jake, \"I am... *glub* glub*\"\n\nThe little white kit sank under water as he got deeper then he expected thrashing around in a panic as he couldn't feel the river bed. Reaching in the red squirrel grabbed her freind and pulled his head out of the water.\n\n\"Focus Collin, don't get cocky.\"\n\nFriendly gasped when he saw Collin struggling in the deep water, but Sarah was quick to help him, and Friendly continued to help Timothy through the water.\n\n\"You're doing great, buddy\" said Friendly, \"Keep those legs kicking, okay?\"\n\nTimothy smiled as he saw Jake getting closer and closer.\n\nCollin sputtered and shook the water out of his pointed ears paddling forward again determined to reach Jake first. His large ringed tail dragged behind in the water as he slowly approached.\n\n\"Almost there,\" Sarah encouraged keeping a head and a paw out to help stabilize the new swimmer.\n\nSoon, Collin and Timothy were head to head. The raccoon kicked his legs harder and grinned as he saw that he was nearly there.\n\n\"Come on buddy, you can do it!\" said Friendly, continuing to help stabilize his raccoon friend as they all got closer to the waiting German Shepherd.\n\n\"Yeah! Collin, we're swimming! We're swimming!\" crowed Timothy excitedly.\n\n\"Yeah,\" Collin gasped fighting to keep his muzzle above water, \"I'm going to get there first...\"\n\nThe kit kicked his paws harder reaching out in broader strokes jerking ahead a few inches and reaching out to tap Jake's paw.\n\n\"I did it I did! I won!\" The white kit shouted bobbing under for a bit as he stopped kicking and was soon pulled up by Sarah. \n\nTimothy tapped Jake's paw just a few seconds after Collin did. He sighed and turned to face Friendly, sadly.\n\n\"I... I didn't win\" he said with a little sniffle.\n\n\"It's okay Timothy, winning isn't everything. You both did really well there\" said the fox, picking Timothy up and hugging him. Timothy giggled as his waterwings made a squeaking sound as they rubbed against Friendly's fur.\n\n\"What you wanna do now?\" Collin asked paddling back to the safety of the shallows sitting on a rock to rest, \"You going to fish Sarah?\"\n\n\"Maybe,\" The squirrel said swimming to shore and moving to her bike to grab her pole, \"Don't swim to close to my line or you'll get a hook in your paw\"\n\n\"Heehee, that wouldn't be good would it? Sarah wants to catch a fish, not a Collin or a Timothy\" chuckled Friendly\n\n\"Not a Jake-fish either\" laughed Jake\n\n\"I'll take Collin and Timothy up the river a bit, where we were before\" said Friendly, \"Then we won't disturb the fish around here\"\n\n\"Can I come too?\" asked Jake\n\n\"Sure buddy, you can come too\" said Friendly, putting his paw around the shepherd's shoulder.\n\nSarah sat up on top of the bridge and cast her line letting her bushy tail drape over the edge and dry in the sun as she chewed on a sprig of mint.\n\n\tFollowing Friendly around the bend of the river Collin paddled about the shore moving from one rock to another.\n\n\"You guys want to see our secret fort?\" The white kit asked as he swam along slowly. \n\n\"Wow, you actually have a secret fort?!\" squeaked Timothy\n\n\"Where is it, Collin? I wanna see!\" yapped Jake\n\n\"It's around the bend in the river,\" Collin said paddling along kicking off the riverbed as he went, \"It's a secret, so you have to promise not to tell anyone\"\n\n\"I won't tell!\" squeaked Timothy\n\n\"Me neither\" said Jake\n\n\"Your secret's safe with us, Collin\" said Friendly\n\n\"Um... shouldn't we take our bikes with us, so nobody takes them?\" suggested Timothy.\n\n\"Sarah can watch them,\" Collin said moving in the shallows and heading down stream where the river got wider and deeper, \"We can get to it from the river, it has a dock and everything.\"\n\n\"Okay\" said Timothy, as he cautiously waded through the water behind Collin.\n\nJake took to the water and floated downstream on his back.\n\nWhen the river ran deep the shore began to slope up creating a high bank that lead to the park over head. As they moved farther down stream an old cobble stone bridge spanned the waters. Next to it stood an old mill house made of brick rising three stores from the ground with a set of old wooden dock hidden under the bridge.\n\n\"It's up here,\" Collin said climbing up the ladder set into the docks and shaking water out of his fur, \"You can see the whole park and some of downtown from the fort.\"\n\n\"Wow, this is wonderful!\" said Jake, \"This looks really exciting\"\n\nTimothy didn't look so sure though, he was a little bit frightened by the old mill.\n\n\"It isn't haunted is it?\" squeaked Timothy, anxiously.\n\n\"Don't worry Timothy, I'll protect you\" said Friendly, holding Timothy's paw.\n\n\"Never seen any ghosts yet,\" Collin said padding along the dock under the bridge and pulling a sliding door open.\n\nInside was a large basement warehouse that used to hold wheat and corn crops brought in by the river. A empty coal sis sat in the far corner next to an old boiler system missing half it's pipes. Along the near wall a winding stair case lead up to the ground floor and beyond.\n\n\"This way,\" The white kit said garbing a flash light off the counter, \"I'll show you our fort.\"\n\nTimothy held on tightly to Friendly as they followed behind Collin. Jake walked along behind them, grinning to himself.\n\n\"Who else knows about this fort, Collin?\" asked Friendly.\n\n\"Just me and Sarah,\" Collin said pushing open the wooden door to the second floor leading the way into an old processing floor.\n\nMultiple steam powered machines sat under canvas covers collecting dust and rust. Near the window looking over the park was a pair of sleeping bags, pile of comics, snacks, and other odds and ends indicated the cubs presence.\n\n\"We can watch the whole park from here,\" The white kit said taking a seat in an old recliner,\"Home away form home.\" \n\n\"Wow. This looks like a great place for us to come to every so often, I just hope it stays secret\" said Friendly, helping Timothy to take off his waterwings.\n\n\"Where's Jake?\" asked Timothy, \"Wasn't he right behind us?\"\n\n\"I thought so?\" Collin said slipping on a pair of sandals and padding along the machine floor looking for Jake.\n\n\"Jake? Where are you!\" cried Timothy, but there was no reply.\n\n\"I'll look over here, he's probably on the balcony\" said Friendly, walking over to the window.\n\nTimothy joined Collin on the floor, though his chubbiness meant he couldn't quite pad along like Collin could.\n\nShining the light over the collection of tarp covered machines Collin searched for his new freind wondering where he had ran off to. \n\nSuddenly, they heard a door creaking open. They looked, and something white emerged from the open door of the nearby closet.\n\n\"Ooooooohhh!!!!!\" it wailed\n\n\"AAAAAAHHHHH! It's a ghost!\" squeaked Timothy, his hazel eyes wide with fright, staring at the intruder. He shivered a little as he tried to move his feet, but he was too petrified to even take a step back.\n\n\"Eeeppp!\" Collin cried dropping his flashlight to the ground which shone on the ghost's face, \"Get away! We don't like ghosts!\"\n\nThe white kit dashed behind an old printing press hiding behind the large steel spinning wheel and piston arm from the steam engine. \n\n\"Hahaha\" Jake laughed, emerging from the sheet. \"Scared you!\"\n\n\"That wasn't funny! I almost wet my shorts!\" cried Timothy\n\n\"What you do that for?\" Collin asked peeking out from behind the press, \"You scared me...\" The little kit sat down hugging his tail trying to get his heart rate back to normal.\n\nThe German Shepherd saw that he had thoroughly frightened the two younger cubs and smiled at them. \"I'm sorry guys\" said Jake, \"I just got kinda bored\"\n\nTimothy looked down and felt the seat of his shorts, making sure he hadn't wet himself. He breathed a sigh of relief when his paw came back dry and he hugged his tail too, like Collin was doing.\n\n\"Would a hug make you feel better?\" asked Jake, offering his paws to Collin and Timothy.\n\n\"Kay,\" Collin said taking Jake's paw and getting up, \"You don't like our fort?\"\n\n\"I didn't say that\" said Jake, \"I like it, I just felt like having some fun with you\"\n\n\"Come on Jake, let's go see the rest of the fort\" said Friendly, you two can rest for a while if you want.\n\nAs Jake and Friendly went off together to see the rest of the old mill house, Timothy tugged on Collin's shoulder.\n\nLooking at the two older cubs run off Collin pinned his ears back looking a bit out of sorts. Turning to look at Timothy the white kit took the other's paw in his own.\n\n\"You don't think its boring do you?\" The hybrid asked softly. \n\n\"No, I like it. But I just wanted to say something...\" began Timothy, unsure how exactly to say what he wanted to tell Collin.\n\n\"What is it?\" Collin asked curiously his big bushy tail whisking along behind him as he held the other boy's paw tightly.\n\n\"Well... um... you remember when we slept together last night, and I was upset?\" asked Timothy, \"It was because... well... I usually wet the bed... and my pull-up leaked. That's why I was upset. I just thought I'd tell you in case we sleep together again\" said Timothy, looking a little embarrassed.\n\n\"Oh...\" Collin blinked a little surprised, \"I didn't notice.\"\n\nThe white kit said a little lost for words, feeling a bit awkward.\n\n\"Does it happen alot?\"\n\n\"Yeah, almost every time I go to sleep\" said Timothy, looking sadly at Collin. \"I can't help it... so I have to wear my pull-ups to bed. When Trent rushed you out of the room he helped me into the bathroom to get cleaned up. My pull-up leaked into my shorts, so that's why I had to borrow yours\"\n\n\"Oh,\" Collin nodded as the blanks were filled in, \"It's o.k. I didn't mind sharing my shorts. Do you hate having to wear pull ups?\"\n\nTimothy nodded, \"But Friendly makes it better for me. He always gives me a hug and tells me it's okay. I love having Friendly as my friend. I just thought I should tell you since we might be sleeping together again\"\n\n\"During the sleep over,\" Collin nodded, \"It's o.k. I don't mind.\"\n\n\"Thanks Collin\" said Timothy, smiling at his new friend and yawning.\n\nJust then, Friendly and Jake returned.\n\n\"Thought you'd got lost\" chuckled Jake, sarcastically.\n\n\"No,\" Collin said looking outside as the sun started to dip low, \"But it's getting late, we better start back and meet up with Sarah.\"\n\n\"Can't we go to sleep here tonight?\" asked Jake\n\n\"Well... we could... but we'd have to tell our parents first, and I haven't got Timothy's pull-ups with me\" said Friendly\n\n\"I don't know...\" Collin said chewing on his lip, \"...My dads don't know about this place. I don't think our folk would be o.k. with us staying here overnight.\"\n\n\"Besides, I need my pull-ups!\" cried Timothy.\n\n\"Yeah, you do. Come on Timothy, let's go back to Collin's and I'll go get your pull-ups\" said Friendly. \"Maybe we can sleep over tonight\"\n\n\"Yay!\" squeaked Timothy\n\n\"Okay\" sighed Jake, \"Maybe we can stay here tomorrow and sleep in the afternoon?\"\n\n\"That might work,\" Collin agreed and started down the stairs to the river, \"You guys have sleeping bags?\"\n\n\"I can go get some when I get Timothy's pull-ups\" said Friendly, when he suddenly realized Collin didn't know about Timothy's bedwetting problem, and gasped. \"Ooops...\"\n\n\"It's okay Friendly, Collin knows I need pull-ups\" said Timothy\n\n\"Oh... alright\" Friendly answered, uttering a small sigh of relief.\n\n\"Come on, let's go\" said Jake, with a bark.\n\n\tOut on the dock Collin jumped back in the water moving close to the shoreline as he retraced his steps back to the other bridge near the park.\n\n\"We can have a camp out on our porch,\" The white kit said as he paddled along, \"My room is next to Sarah's on the other side and you can see all the neighborhood form the back landing.\" \n\n\"Wow, that sounds neat!\" said Jake, as he jumped into the water and swam mid-stream towards the bridge.\n\nTimothy followed Collin anxiously, making sure the valves on his waterwings were nice and tight in case his feet left the bottom.\n\n\"Maybe we can sleep together? I don't like sleeping alone\" Timothy whispered to Collin.\n\n\"O.k.\" Collin whispered back his tail dragging behind in the current, \"It be nice to sleep together, my dads don't like it when I crawl in with them.\"\n\nTimothy trilled contently and held onto Collin's paw as they waded through the water together.\n\n\"Awww\" said Friendly, as he paddled along behind them.\n\nAs they came upon the bridge their bike rest at, Sarah had gotten dressed and was holding a line of fresh trout she had caught.\n\n\"Where'd you all go?\" The red squirrel asked as she hung the fish from her handle bars, \"It's getting dark, we better head back in.\"\n\n\"Yep, I gotta get some stuff from home\" said Friendly, putting Timothy's waterwings in his rucksack.\n\n\"We're having a sleepover!\" squeaked Timothy, as he got on his beloved red bike and rode around Collin.\n\n\"Well I caught us something for dinner,\" Sarah said as she started peddling alone leading back through the tree covered path, \"Though I'll need help cleaning them. Any volunteers?\"\n\n\"Sure, I'll help\" said Jake, \"I like doing stuff like that\"\n\nTimothy rode his bike alongside Collin, his training wheels rattling along as he rolled over the bumpy woodland trail.\n\n\"I hope we don't get stuck in da mud again\" Timothy squeaked, \"I wanna get back so we can have our sleepover!\"\n\n\"Stay to the outside of the path,\" Collin suggested moving close the the edge were the grass still grew, \"It's not as muddy there.\"\n\nMoving along quickly Sarah took the lead close to Jake, \"You want to try catching fire flies tonight?\" The squirrel tom boy asked pushing her long red pony tail back over her shoulder, \"There's a great field they hide in near our house.\"\n\n\"Yeah, okay! That sounds like fun!\" yapped Jake\n\nTimothy followed Collin on the outside of the path where the mud was not as treacherous as it was in the middle, but his training wheels got hung up on a bump and he ended up high-centering his bike, with the rear wheel spinning in a rut.\n\n\"Help!\" cried Timothy, as he pedaled hard but didn't move.\n\n\"I gotcha buddy\" said Friendly, pushing on the seat of Timothy's shorts to help him clear of the rut.\n\nCollin navigated the path slowly and carefully making sure to steer clear of any pit falls or puddles. Once outside the forest he saw Sarah and Jake and circled about them while waiting for Timothy and Friendly.\n\n\"It's really getting dark now,\" The small white kit said as twilight set in and the ornamental street lamps flickered on casting pale yellow light on the sidewalk.\n\nIt wasn't very long before Timothy and Friendly joined them.\n\n\"Here we are\" said Friendly, grinning as he looked at Timothy's extremely muddy shorts and his own very muddy paws.\n\n\"You guys are going to need the hose when we get back,\" Sarah chuckled as she lead the way down the street back to her and Collin's house, \"You guys want to grab your stuff first and meet us there?\"\n\n\"I'll wash my paws when I get my sleeping bag and Timothy's pull-ups\" Friendly said to Sarah, \"Timothy will definitely need a good wash though\"\n\nTimothy rode alongside Collin as they made their way back down the street.\n\n\"You, Sarah and Jake left me and Friendly behind, so I went into the middle of the path to try and catch up to you, but I got stuck in da mud again and made my shorts all dirty\" said Timothy, \"Friendly had to push me out twice\"\n\n\"Well I guess you and Collin can share a bath when we get back,\" Sarah said as she moved along in looping circles, \"While me and Jake clean the fish.\"\n\n\"Don't you need a bath too?\" Collin asked keeping pace as they neared the corner and the rose bush he landed in the other day.\n\n\"Well yeah, but I can't have a bath with two boys,\" The red squirrel giggled, \"That'd be naughty.\"\n\nTimothy smiled. The thought of sharing a bath with one of his new friends was quite exciting.\n\n\"Did you get stuck in the mud too?\" asked Timothy, seeing that Collin was a little bit muddy as well.\n\n\"Just a little,\" Collin said stopping in front of the garage and pulling out his house key, \"But only for a second, it wasn't a deep puddle.\"\n\nFiddling with the lock the white kit opened the door setting his bike at the end of the garage and heading into the second set of doors.\n\n\"I'm home!\" The half bred called out kicking of his shoes in the corner and entering the kitchen.\n\n\"Stop right there!\" Trent called out pointing a finger at the damp muddy cubs, \"You're filthy! Andrew grab some towels, Collin needs a bath.\"\n\n\"I do too\" said Timothy, \"We kinda got stuck in the mud a few times\"\n\n\"I can see that,\" Trent moved over to wrap Timothy in a big beach towel and lifted him up and headed towards the stairs, \"Sarah, you can put those fish in the sink and start cleaning them, I'll be down in a bit to help you.\"\n\nScooping up Collin, Andrew followed his mate up to the bathroom and turned on the water to fill the tub.\n\n\"You need help out of your clothes?\" The ferret asked Timothy while Collin got his shirt stuck over his head.\n\n\"Just my shirt please, I'd like to keep my shorts on when I'm in the bath\" said Timothy, grinning as he watched Collin struggling with his shirt.\n\n\"Can Collin wear his trunks in the bath too?\" asked Timothy, as he looked in the mirror at the seat of his shorts and gasped when he saw how muddy it was. \"Wow, I look like I pooped my pants\"\n\n\"Best rinse it off them,\" Andrew said as the ferret pulled the shower head on and attached it to the hose, \"Hop in Timothy, while Collin grabs his swimming shorts.\"\n\nWhile the small white kit dashed to his room for his swimwear the sandy ferret helped the other kit into the tub of warm water turning on the shower head and directing the spray over Timothy's muddy pelt. \n\n\"Heeheee!\" giggled Timothy as he felt the warm water soaking into his shorts, and grinned at Andrew as the ferret showered him. \"I guess I really got stuck in da mud\"\n\n\"Should have seen some of the messes I used to get in to,\" Andrew said running the head of the shower against Timothy's fur, the warm water pouring and massaging his pelt, causing the mud to run off in sheets, \"That's better.\"\n\nWith the mud cleaned off the kit's fur the ferret let Timothy soak in the tub as Collin came back in. Rinsing off his son the adoptive father worked diligently on the puffy tail getting all of the grime out.\n\n\"You two finish up,\" Andrew said as he collected the dirty clothes and towels, \"I'll be back with fresh clothes in a moment.\"\n\nTimothy grinned as Andrew left him and Collin alone to soak in the bath.\n\n\"You shoulda seen my butt... it looked like I pooped my pants\" chuckled Timothy, standing up and checking to see if his shorts were free of mud.\n\n\"Urgh gross,\" Collin said curling up on the other side of the tub letting the water reach up to his muzzle as he relaxed, \"You gonna need another change of pants again?\"\n\n\"I didn't actually, I don't need my pull-ups during the daytime\" chuckled Timothy, \"But yes I think I will need to borrow a pair of your shorts again. Or are we gonna go straight to bed after our bath?\"\n\n\"Still got dinner,\" Collin said scooting close and running a wash cloth over Timothy's back, \"Fish and chips, Sarah and Jake should have them cleaned by now\"\n\n\"Oh... I forgot about dinner\" chuckled Timothy, grinning as Collin helped clean the fur on his back. \"I know, let's play a game! You close your eyes and count to ten, and I'll hide this little toy fish somewhere and you gotta find it when you open your eyes!\"\n\n\"Uh, o.k.\" The white kit placed both paws of his face resting back against the edge of the tub the water rippling in ring as he moved. \n\nTimothy grinned and reached behind him, opening the velcro pocket on his butt - the water muffling the sound of the velcro and he put the fish inside, patting the pocket on his shorts shut as Collin counted.\n\n\"Ten, ready or not here I come.\" The white kit said turning around looking about the tub for the toy.\n\nAfter a few moments the kit was puzzled and looked at Timothy, \"Where'd you put it? Is it still in the tub?\"\n\n\"Yep... sort of\" said Timothy, \"I'll give you a clue... it's in the water, but not floating around\"\n\nTurning in place the half bred lifted his heavy water soaked tail looking behind him in case Timothy placed behind him.\n\n\"I don't see it...\" The kit whined then looked over the grey raccoon, \"Stand up, is it under you?\"\n\n\"Nope\" said Timothy, standing up with his butt facing Collin. \"Can you see it now?\"\n\n\"You put it in your shorts?\" Collin asked placing his small paws over the lump the toy made in the swimming shorts, \"Well I found it then.\"\n\nGiggling the kit push the fish up to the waist band and reaching to grab it,\n\nTimothy suddenly started giggling uncontrollably.\n\n\"That tickles! You're tickling me!\" giggled the raccoon, as Collin pushed the fish upwards and pulled his velcro pocket open.\n\nAfter Collin had retrieved the toy fish, he calmed down and grinned at his friend.\n\n\"Timothy, how come you wanted to wear your trunks in the bath?\" The white kit asked innocently.\n\n\"Um... er... I... these are my favorite shorts... I like wearing them in the tub\" said Timothy.\n\nThe white kit nodded sitting back and holding the fish in his paws.\n\n\"How come you wanted me in my shorts?\" Colin asked curiously, \"I usually don't wear them when I take a bath.\"\n\n\"Well... I thought we could take a bath in our shorts together\" said Timothy, blushing again; \"Besides, your shorts got all muddy too\"\n\n\"Oh, o.k.\" Collin said wondering why Timothy was blushing. \"Want me to wash your back again?\"\n\n\"Heehee, okay!\" said Timothy, sitting down again and giggling as the water soaked up inside his shorts.\n\nStepping back in Andrew held a pair of gaint beach towels and a fresh set of pajamas for Collin and Timothy, \"O.k. boys, time to get out.\"\n\nHolding towel open for the grey kit to step in the ferret helped TImothy out of the tub and wrapped him in the warm soft cloth shaking the water from his pelt.\n\n\"Thank you\" said Timothy, smiling at Andrew as the ferret wrapped the towel around him and began to dry him.\n\nJust then, Friendly came into the bathroom too.\n\n\"Timothy, I brought another pair of your shorts with me, so you don't have to borrow Collin's\" said the fox, putting another pair of shorts - identical to the ones Timothy was already wearing - on the towel rail.\n\n\"Thank you Friendly,\" Andrew said leaving Timothy wrapped in the towel as he helped Collin in to his own, \"He can use them tomorrow, after dinner I think these two will be ready for bed.\" The ferret said leaving the night shirt he left out for Timothy to put on on the counter.\n\n\"Okay, I'll leave them there then. Here's your pull-up, Timothy\" said Friendly, leaving it on the toilet seat.\n\n\"Thank you Friendly\" said Timothy, pulling his untied shorts down and drying himself before changing into his pull-up and nightshirt.\n\n\"What's for dinner, Andrew?\" asked the raccoon.\n\n\"Fish and chips,\" Andrew said as he hugged and dried Collin off, \"Sarah and Jake should be done cleaning them and Trent should have them in the pan by now.\"\n\n\"Ooooh, goody!\" squeaked Timothy.\n\n\"Alright, I'll go help them with the chips\" said Friendly.\n\nHelping Collin into his night shirt the ferret handed Timothy a grooming brush, \"Need help brushing out your fur?\" \n\n\"Yes please\" replied Timothy, looking sadly in the mirror at his thick fur as it stuck out on end, and instead looking at his pull-up which was peeking out from underneath his nightshirt.\n\n\"What's wrong Timothy?\" Collin asked as his own puff tail lifted the back of his night gown a little too, \"Don't you like your pajamas?\"\n\nHeading back down stairs Andrew let the cubs to it as he went to wash their cloth and help set the table. \n\n\"I do... is my pull-up peeking out too much?\" said Timothy, blushing at his friend.\n\n\"Just a little,\" Collin said moving around behind and tugging the shirt down a little, \"Try holding your tail lower if you can, that helps with me.\"\n\nTimothy tried holding his tail lower, but he felt happy to not have to worry about hiding his pull-up or his training wheels and he couldn't help but stick his tail higher, revealing most of his pull-up.\n\n\"Let's go eat!\" he squeaked, opening the door for Collin and heading downstairs.\n\nCollin lead the way holding onto Timothy's paw as they walked down stairs and into the living room. Inside the kitchen Trent was pulling a cooking pan out of the oven the trout steaming as he placed it on the table. The bench seat were pulled out with Sarah and Jake already sitting fork and knives in paw as Andrew was pouring drinks.\n\n\"What you guys want orange juice, milk?\" The ferret asked as Trent started to dish out the fish and scalloped potatoes. \n\n\"Milk please\" said Timothy, sitting down next to Friendly with his tail still held up high, showing how happy and excited he really was.\n\n\"I'm glad we met you guys, things have never been so good\" said Friendly, \"Even Timothy's very happy\"\n\n\"I'm glad Collin has found a few more good friends,\" Trent says after passing around the meal and taking a seat with the small white kit between him and Andrew, \"He's new to the school and only has Sarah as a close friend so far. Thanks for getting to know him.\"\n\nCollin smiles as eh nuzzles a bit with his papas and the family digs in to the fish congratulating Sarah for the catch.\n\n\"You're welcome\" said Friendly, suddenly dropping his fork onto the floor. \"Ooops, sorry\" he said, reaching down for it.\n\nJake smiled at Sarah. \"Yeah, thanks Sarah\"\n\nOn the way back up, Friendly couldn't help but notice Timothy's fully exposed pull-up.\n\n\"Hehe, it's a good job you don't have to hide your pull-up Timothy, because it's peeking out big time\"\n\nTimothy blushed deeply.\n\nSarah grinned as she heard the exchange, but kept quiet going about her meal.\n\n\"Once we're done with dinner, I'll put Timothy and Collin to bed,\" Andrew said as he cleaned off his plate, \"You still going out to catch fire flies Sarah?\"\n\n\"Yeah, Jake said he'd join me,\" The red squirrel said, \"Trent you have any extra jars we can put them in?\" \n\n\"Yep, said Jake\" wagging his tail, \"Actually I brought some jars with me in case I wanted to catch any insects\"\n\nAs Timothy finished his small portion of fish and chips, and slurped down the rest of his milk, he couldn't help but yawn. Friendly chuckled and picked Timothy up, supporting his chubby friend by putting one hand under the raccoon's butt and patting the seat of his pull-up.\n\n\"Come on buddy, it's time for you to go to sleep\" he said.\n\nBeside Andrew, Collin was resting against his papa; his eyes drooping as he struggled to keep awake.\n\n\"Come on sweetie time to turn in,\" The ferret picked up his son as the kit moaned in protest and was carried upstairs.\n\nOnce in Collin's room Andrew placed the little kit on his tummy raising his night shirt up so he could brush out his fur before bed.\n\n\"You want a brush out too Timothy?\" The ferret offered as Collin cooed and rested his head on his pillow.\n\n\"Yes please\" said Timothy, beginning to trill contently in his raccoon way as he lay alongside Collin. As he shuffled and fidgeted, his pull-up crinkled a little and he giggled.\n\nAndrew lifted the small grey kit's night gown and gently ran the brush through the thick fur. The rounded tips of the brush's stems massaged Timothy's pelt while parting and grooming his fur into a neat pattern. Reaching out a paw Collin held his friend's paw tightly smiling sleepily as they were gently tended to before bed. \n\nTimothy smiled back at Collin as he felt the brush straightening out his thick fur. He reached back and fidgeted with his pull-up before snuggling up to Collin.\n\n\"Goodnight, Collin\" he said, continuing to trill contently as Andrew finished brushing his fur.\n\n\"Night Timothy,\" Collin murmured sleepily as he cuddled close wrapping his tail about his friend as his papa pulled the covers over them and turned out the lights. Before stepping out the ferret turned on the lighthouse night light in the corner and left the kits to their rest.\n\nDownstairs, Friendly was finishing up the rest of his fish and chips, as was Jake.\n\n\"Now, to catch some fireflies!\" said Jake, taking out his glass jars from his backpack.\n\n\"Thank you Friendly,\" Trent said bringing out a pair of mugs of mocha for him and Andrew, \"You want some cocoa?\"\n\nAs Andrew took a seat on the swing seat on the porch looking over the back yard Sarah lead Jake into the field waving her net around as the blinking lights danced above him.\n\n\"You're welcome\" said Friendly, leaving Timothy's bike on the grass and sitting next to Trent. \"No thanks, I don't think I've got any room for anymore food or drink\" he chuckled.\n\nJake chuckled and waved his net at the dancing lights above him, carefully directing them into his jar and putting the lid on tightly.\n\nHolding her net to the rim of her jar Sarah guided a collection of lighting bugs into the glass prison. Ducking down to place some grass and leaves inside for food the red squirrel screwed the lid on tight and returned with her prize to the porch.\n\n\"I got one of each,\" The tom boy stated proudly as she displayed the jar to the others. \n\n\"Um... one of each what?\" asked Friendly, a little perplexed.\n\nJake put some grass and leaves inside his jar too and put the lid on before any of his fireflies could escape the glass jar.\n\n\"One of each color,\" Sarah said holding up the jar for Friendly to see.\n\nInside green, blue, and white bursts of light fluttered about in a miniature fireworks display.\n\n\"Oh wow!\" said the fox, \"You did do well for yourself\"\n\n\"Look, I got quite a lot of fireflies too!\" yapped Jake\n\n\"That's a nice haul kido,\" Andrew said peering into Jake's jar, \"Make sure you take care of them.\"\n\n\"You all ready for bed?\" Trent asked sipping his coffee, \"We'll set up the pull out coach if you are.\"\n\n\"Yeah, I think so\" said Friendly, resting his paws on his full stomach and groaning slightly. \"I'm not used to eating so much\" he explained.\n\nJake put his jar of fireflies on the table and went over to Timothy's bike.\n\n\"I'll put Timothy's bike in the garage too, that way if it rains it won't get all rusty\" said Jake, sitting on Timothy's bike and turning the pedals, grinning as he heard the plastic training wheels rattling along behind him.\n\nTrent turned inside heading to the living room and lifting off the cushions and pulling out the guest fold away bed. Pulling on a fresh pair of sheets and pillows the hare made the living room into an extra guest room.\n\n\"All set you,\" Trent called out as Andrew headed upstairs to check on Timothy and Collin, \"You guys have your pajamas?\"\n\n\"Yep\" said Friendly\n\n\"No\" whimpered Jake\n\n\"Don't worry Jake, I got your pajamas when I went to get Timothy's pull-ups\" said the fox, giving his friend a lick on the cheek.\n\n\"O.k.\" I'll leave you too to it then,\" Trent said heading up stairs.\n\nIn Collin's room Andrew stroked his son's head gently tucking him in tight before checking on Timothy, rubbing his back softly before pulling up his night gown a bit to make sure he was still dry.\n\nTimothy trilled contently as he felt Andrew's paw rubbing his back and he stirred a little, opening his eyes.\n\n\"Huh? What's wrong? Oh no...\" groaned the raccoon, as he felt his soaked pull-up rubbing against his fur.\n\n\"Easy kido, easy,\" Andrew hushed as he lifted Timothy up in his arms, \"It'll be o.k. lets get you cleaned up.\"\n\nThe ferret carried the little kit to the bathroom, lifting the night shirt off and tugging the damp pull-up off. Tossing it away Andrew lifted Timothy into the tub and ran warm water from the shower head and started to wash him up.\n\n\"Sorry Andrew\" sniffled Timothy, as the ferret helped him out of his wet pull-up and into the tub. \"What's the time?\"\n\n\"Half past midnight,\" The ferret said runn the water over the damp pelt and soaping it up with his fingers, \"Don't worry sweet heart, it's o.k almost done.\"\n\n\"Really? Wow\" said Timothy, \"I guess I drank too much milk or something. Is Friendly still up?\"\n\n\"Think he and Jake just bedded down for the night,\" Andrew said toweling the kit off, \"You want me to get him?\"\n\n\"Yes please\" said Timothy, smiling at Andrew and giving him a little hug.\n\nRuffling the boy's headfur, Andrew left the kit wrapped in the towel and headed downstairs to see if Friendly was still up.\n\nFriendly was just tucking himself and Jake into bed when he heard Andrew coming back downstairs.\n\n\"Oh... hi Andrew. Is something wrong?\" he asked.\n\n\"Timothy would like to talk to you,\" Andrew whispered into Friendly's ear, \"He had an accident.\"\n\n\"Oh... poor Timothy\" said Friendly, getting a fresh pull-up for Timothy to put on. \"Where is he? Is he still in bed?\"\n\n\"No, he's in the bathroom,\" The ferret said leading back up stairs letting Friendly alone with Timothy to finish up.\n\n\"Okay\" said Friendly, as he entered the bathroom and saw Timothy wrapped in his towel.\n\n\"Friendly... I wet the bed again\" sniffled Timothy\n\n\"I know, it's okay buddy\" said Friendly, hugging his friend and kissing his cheek. \"Here, I got you another pull-up\"\n\n\"Thanks Friendly\" said Timothy, as the fox unwrapped the towel from him and put him in his new pull-up and his nightshirt.\n\n\"Do you wanna sleep with Collin, or with me and Jake?\" asked Friendly\n\n\"Um... I think I'd better sleep with Collin, he'll be wondering what happened to me\" said the raccoon.\n\n\"Okay, come on, I'll take you\" said Friendly, carrying Timothy back into Collin's bedroom and rubbing the seat of his pull-up.\n\nIn the bed room Collin was whimpering a bit as he reached across the sheets, searching for his friend as he slept.\n\nTimothy trilled contently as Friendly lay him next to Collin and patted the seat of his pull-up.\n\n\"There you go, lil' buddy. All nice and dry now\" said the fox, giving Timothy a kiss on his cheek and smiling as he snuggled up to Collin again.\n\n\"Goodnight\" said Timothy\n\n\"Goodnight Timothy\" said Friendly, gently closing the bedroom door behind him.\n\nFeeling the warmth next to him again Collin opened his eyes sleepily holding onto Timothy tightly. \"What's wrong...\" The kit moaned rubbing his eyes, \"Where'd you go?\"\n\n\"I wet my pull-up again, so your dad came and cleaned me up\" said Timothy, giving his friend an innocent little smile.\n\n\"Oh,\" Collin cuddling up close wrapping his puffy tail about his freind, \"You all better then?\"\n\n\"Yep, I am now. Hey, do you wanna wear a pull-up too? I took an extra one and put it under the bed\" said Timothy.\n\n\"I dunno...\" Collin stammered a bit nuzzling into Timothy, \"Does it feel nice?\"\n\n\"It sorta does\" said Timothy, reaching down for the pull-up and then helping Collin slip it on underneath his nightshirt.\n\n\"Feels kind of weird,\" Collin said blushing a bit as the soft absorbent material was pressing into his tender spots, \"But nice.\" \n\n\"It does feel kinda comfy, that's the only reason I don't mind wearing them at night. It's better than wet sheets\" said Timothy, curiously putting his paw on Collin's pull-up.\n\nCollin trilled softly at the touch blushing a little deeper as he never been touched there by anyone but his daddys. \"I bet it feel icky when wet though...\"\n\n\"No... it just feels a little uncomfortable\" said Timothy, removing his paw from Collin's butt and snuggling up with him again. \"I don't get to have many sleepovers though because the other kids will laugh at me for still needing my pull-ups at night\"\n\n\"That's not nice,\" Collin said, curling up with his friend and bringing the tip of his tail to his mouth, sucking on the soft fur there.\n\n\"I know... but you didn't laugh at me, and now we're both in pull-ups\" chuckled Timothy, wrapping his tail around Collin and snuggling up with him again. \"Goodnight Collin\"\n\n\"Night Timothy,\" Collin murmured resting against his friend listen to the crinkle form below and feeling a bit more safe then he normally would.\n\nTimothy trilled contently in his raccoon way and was soon asleep, still snuggled up with Collin.\n\n-- The End --\n\n",

It wasn&#039;t long before they all arrived at the river together.<br /><br />&quot;Ooooh, I like this place!&quot; yapped Jake excitedly, as he put his bike down on the grass and went over to the water, still wearing his shirt.<br /><br />&quot;Friendly, do you have my waterwings?&quot; asked Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Yep, hang on Timothy&quot; said Friendly, as he pulled a pair of yellow waterwings out of his backpack and tried to inflate them, but he wasn&#039;t very good at it. He just kept blowing raspberries instead of inflating them.<br /><br />&quot;You pull the tube all the way out?&quot; Sarah asked as she kicked off her shoes and dipped her paws in the water cleaning off the mud from her pelt, &quot; You have to pull it all the way out before blowing them up.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yes I did&quot; said Friendly, &quot;I&#039;m just not very good at this&quot;<br /><br />&quot;But... but I need my waterwings!&quot; cried Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Sarah, do you know how to blow them up? I can&#039;t do it&quot; sighed Friendly<br /><br />&quot;Here I&#039;ll get it,&quot; Sarah said taking the floaters using her teeth to pinch open the value and blew air into the rubber band expanding them and then closing the tube. &quot; There you go Timothy, that should do it.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Thanks Sarah&quot; said Friendly<br /><br />&quot;Yay! Thank you Sarah&quot; squeaked Timothy, as Friendly helped him put his waterwings on. &quot;I&#039;m going to join Collin!&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Off you go then&quot; smiled Friendly, &quot;I&#039;ll join you shortly&quot;<br /><br />Collin had parked his bike on the bridge and moved to the water&#039;s edge. He pulled off his shirt and stood in his swimming shorts as he peered at the water looking for a shallow place to wade in. Jake saw Collin by the bridge and swam over to him.<br /><br />&quot;Come on Collin, the water&#039;s fine!&quot; he barked happily<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s not too deep?&quot; Collin asked stepping in slowly getting used to the chilly water gradually, &quot;Maybe I should stay on the shore...&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Come on, you&#039;ll be fine! The water&#039;s not deep&quot; said Jake, putting his goggles on and going under the water, swimming along close to the bottom.<br /><br />&quot;If you say so,&quot; Collin edged out into the water slowly sinking in up to his waist and hugging his tail tightly as he went.<br /><br />From above Sarah took a running jump and landed close by splashing water over everyone close by as she cannoned balled into the river.<br /><br />Timothy then waded into the water with Collin, smiling at the white kit as he felt the cool water going up the legs of his swimming shorts.<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;m not a good swimmer either, don&#039;t you have any waterwings like me?&quot; he asked<br /><br />&quot;No I don&#039;t go swimming all that much.&quot; Collin said sitting down on a flat stone letting the water come up to his chest. &quot;I&#039;ve only been in pool and slides.&quot;<br /><br />Popping up deeper into the river Sarah turned around back pedaling through the water. &quot;Don&#039;t worry Collin, we&#039;ll keep an eye on you. Just don&#039;t go in too deep.&quot;<br /><br />Timothy felt bad for Collin.<br /><br />&quot;Collin can&#039;t swim, so he should have some waterwings like me&quot; he thought, &quot;Maybe I&#039;ll let him borrow them when I&#039;m done in the water&quot;<br /><br />Suddenly, Timothy felt something big grab him from under the water.<br /><br />&quot;Aaaaah!!!&quot; cried Timothy, flailing his arms and feet as fast as he could in helpless panic, but his feet just spun helplessly and he didn&#039;t move at all through the water.<br /><br />Friendly chuckled as he surfaced alongside Timothy.<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s only me&quot; he laughed, pulling Timothy close and hugging him. Timothy shivered a little as his friend embraced him in the cool water.<br /><br />&quot;Awww, did I frighten you? I&#039;m sorry&quot; said Friendly, licking the raccoon&#039;s cheek and continuing to hug him.<br /><br />&quot;No, not really&quot; said Timothy, even though the fox had frightened him quite a bit. <br /><br />Collin shifted forward reaching out for Timothy as he flailed about in panic then pulled back once he saw it was only Friendly. Swimming up behind the white half bred Sarah cupped her paws together and squirted water out at him.<br /><br />&quot;Hey, stop it Sarah!&quot; The kit cried cover his ears as the jet of water hit his head, &quot;That&#039;s not nice.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;ll stop once you start swimming,&quot; The red squirrel said maneuvering around her friend, &quot;Just a doggy paddle between the rocks, that&#039;s all. Just to prove you can do it.&quot;<br /><br />Timothy looked over at Collin, who looked a little uneasy. &quot;Um... do you wanna borrow my waterwings Collin?&quot; he asked.<br /><br />&quot;He shouldn&#039;t need them,&quot; Sarah called out reaching out a paw to Collin, &quot;Come on, just take my hand and I&#039;ll help you along the shallow parts. Just get deep enough to kick your legs and you&#039;ll see it&#039;s not that hard&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I guess so,&quot; The white kit said looking over at Timothy, the offer of borrowing the raccoon&#039;s floatation bands still going through his head before taking the squirrel&#039;s paw in his own, &quot;Don&#039;t let go though, I don&#039;t want to fall in&quot; he said to Sarah.<br /><br />Timothy looked at Collin as Sarah took him a little further into the deeper water. He tried to swim along with them - with the help of his waterwings - but his feet just spun helplessly in the water and he didn&#039;t move anywhere.<br /><br />&quot;Friendly, help!&quot; cried Timothy, beginning to pant with his efforts to join Sarah and Collin.<br /><br />Kicking out with his legs Collin managed to keep his head above water as he clung to Sarah&#039;s paws while she guided him about the deeper water. When he heard Timothy cry out the white kit looked about worried and stopped kick. With out the aid of his legs Collin&#039;s head slipped under water and he thrashed around a bit before bobbing back up as Sarah hugged him and leaned into a back float.<br /><br />&quot;You got to keep kicking Collin,&quot; Sarah panted as she lead him back towards the rocks, &quot;Friendly is helping Timothy, focus on you own strokes.&quot;<br /><br />Friendly paddled over to the struggling raccoon and held onto his paw.<br /><br />&quot;Thank you Friendly&quot; smiled Timothy, as he began to move through the water with the help of his fox friend.<br /><br />Just then, Jake surfaced close to Collin.<br /><br />&quot;Wow, you&#039;re doing pretty good!&quot; he said<br /><br />&quot;I guess so,&quot; Collin sputtered a bit as he kicked out his legs hanging on to Sarah&#039;s paws tightly afraid to let go, &quot;It&#039;s not so bad. Hey Timothy want to race?&quot; The white kit called out having the red squirrel turn him in the right direction setting up a two man paddling team between himself and Sarah vs. Friendly and Timothy.<br /><br />&quot;Yeah! That sounds like fun!&quot; squeaked Timothy, as Friendly took his other paw and they all got beside each other.<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;ll go to the finishing line&quot; said Jake, as he dived and swam through the deep water down the river.<br /><br />&quot;We&#039;ll wait until Jake gets down there. How about you try swimming again Timothy?&quot; suggested Friendly, letting go of Timothy&#039;s paws and letting the raccoon float with his waterwings.<br /><br />&quot;You too Collin, try to paddle on your own,&quot; Sarah says keeping close, &quot;Reach out your arms and pull them back towards you pulling yourself in the water.&quot;<br /><br />The white kit kicked his legs and flopped his arms in front of him treading water awkwardly moving out ahead of the red squirrel girl a bit.<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s hard,&quot; Collin said, as he tried to keep above water on his own, &quot;Don&#039;t go far Sarah, stay close!&quot;<br /><br />Timothy looked as Collin paddled a little on his own and he tried to follow suit, but without Friendly pushing him his feet just spun in the water. He tried reaching out with his arms like Collin was doing, but he felt like he was sinking as one of his waterwings became higher than the other.<br /><br />&quot;I can&#039;t do it Friendly!&quot; cried Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Sshhh, it&#039;s okay Timothy, I&#039;ll help you&quot; said Friendly, putting one of his paws under Timothy&#039;s chest and the other on his butt, gently helping his friend through the water.<br /><br />&quot;Hurry up Timothy I&#039;m winning!&quot; Collin panted as he made it a couple more feet awkwardly splashing about as he followed Sarah towards Jake, &quot;I am... *glub* glub*&quot;<br /><br />The little white kit sank under water as he got deeper then he expected thrashing around in a panic as he couldn&#039;t feel the river bed. Reaching in the red squirrel grabbed her freind and pulled his head out of the water.<br /><br />&quot;Focus Collin, don&#039;t get cocky.&quot;<br /><br />Friendly gasped when he saw Collin struggling in the deep water, but Sarah was quick to help him, and Friendly continued to help Timothy through the water.<br /><br />&quot;You&#039;re doing great, buddy&quot; said Friendly, &quot;Keep those legs kicking, okay?&quot;<br /><br />Timothy smiled as he saw Jake getting closer and closer.<br /><br />Collin sputtered and shook the water out of his pointed ears paddling forward again determined to reach Jake first. His large ringed tail dragged behind in the water as he slowly approached.<br /><br />&quot;Almost there,&quot; Sarah encouraged keeping a head and a paw out to help stabilize the new swimmer.<br /><br />Soon, Collin and Timothy were head to head. The raccoon kicked his legs harder and grinned as he saw that he was nearly there.<br /><br />&quot;Come on buddy, you can do it!&quot; said Friendly, continuing to help stabilize his raccoon friend as they all got closer to the waiting German Shepherd.<br /><br />&quot;Yeah! Collin, we&#039;re swimming! We&#039;re swimming!&quot; crowed Timothy excitedly.<br /><br />&quot;Yeah,&quot; Collin gasped fighting to keep his muzzle above water, &quot;I&#039;m going to get there first...&quot;<br /><br />The kit kicked his paws harder reaching out in broader strokes jerking ahead a few inches and reaching out to tap Jake&#039;s paw.<br /><br />&quot;I did it I did! I won!&quot; The white kit shouted bobbing under for a bit as he stopped kicking and was soon pulled up by Sarah. <br /><br />Timothy tapped Jake&#039;s paw just a few seconds after Collin did. He sighed and turned to face Friendly, sadly.<br /><br />&quot;I... I didn&#039;t win&quot; he said with a little sniffle.<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s okay Timothy, winning isn&#039;t everything. You both did really well there&quot; said the fox, picking Timothy up and hugging him. Timothy giggled as his waterwings made a squeaking sound as they rubbed against Friendly&#039;s fur.<br /><br />&quot;What you wanna do now?&quot; Collin asked paddling back to the safety of the shallows sitting on a rock to rest, &quot; You going to fish Sarah?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Maybe,&quot; The squirrel said swimming to shore and moving to her bike to grab her pole, &quot;Don&#039;t swim to close to my line or you&#039;ll get a hook in your paw&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Heehee, that wouldn&#039;t be good would it? Sarah wants to catch a fish, not a Collin or a Timothy&quot; chuckled Friendly<br /><br />&quot;Not a Jake-fish either&quot; laughed Jake<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;ll take Collin and Timothy up the river a bit, where we were before&quot; said Friendly, &quot; Then we won&#039;t disturb the fish around here&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Can I come too?&quot; asked Jake<br /><br />&quot;Sure buddy, you can come too&quot; said Friendly, putting his paw around the shepherd&#039;s shoulder.<br /><br />Sarah sat up on top of the bridge and cast her line letting her bushy tail drape over the edge and dry in the sun as she chewed on a sprig of mint.<br /><br />\tFollowing Friendly around the bend of the river Collin paddled about the shore moving from one rock to another.<br /><br />&quot;You guys want to see our secret fort?&quot; The white kit asked as he swam along slowly. <br /><br />&quot;Wow, you actually have a secret fort?!&quot; squeaked Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Where is it, Collin? I wanna see!&quot; yapped Jake<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s around the bend in the river,&quot; Collin said paddling along kicking off the riverbed as he went, &quot;It&#039;s a secret, so you have to promise not to tell anyone&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I won&#039;t tell!&quot; squeaked Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Me neither&quot; said Jake<br /><br />&quot;Your secret&#039;s safe with us, Collin&quot; said Friendly<br /><br />&quot;Um... shouldn&#039;t we take our bikes with us, so nobody takes them?&quot; suggested Timothy.<br /><br />&quot;Sarah can watch them,&quot; Collin said moving in the shallows and heading down stream where the river got wider and deeper, &quot; We can get to it from the river, it has a dock and everything.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Okay&quot; said Timothy, as he cautiously waded through the water behind Collin.<br /><br />Jake took to the water and floated downstream on his back.<br /><br />When the river ran deep the shore began to slope up creating a high bank that lead to the park over head. As they moved farther down stream an old cobble stone bridge spanned the waters. Next to it stood an old mill house made of brick rising three stores from the ground with a set of old wooden dock hidden under the bridge.<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s up here,&quot; Collin said climbing up the ladder set into the docks and shaking water out of his fur, &quot; You can see the whole park and some of downtown from the fort.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Wow, this is wonderful!&quot; said Jake, &quot; This looks really exciting&quot;<br /><br />Timothy didn&#039;t look so sure though, he was a little bit frightened by the old mill.<br /><br />&quot;It isn&#039;t haunted is it?&quot; squeaked Timothy, anxiously.<br /><br />&quot;Don&#039;t worry Timothy, I&#039;ll protect you&quot; said Friendly, holding Timothy&#039;s paw.<br /><br />&quot;Never seen any ghosts yet,&quot; Collin said padding along the dock under the bridge and pulling a sliding door open.<br /><br />Inside was a large basement warehouse that used to hold wheat and corn crops brought in by the river. A empty coal sis sat in the far corner next to an old boiler system missing half it&#039;s pipes. Along the near wall a winding stair case lead up to the ground floor and beyond.<br /><br />&quot;This way,&quot; The white kit said garbing a flash light off the counter, &quot;I&#039;ll show you our fort.&quot;<br /><br />Timothy held on tightly to Friendly as they followed behind Collin. Jake walked along behind them, grinning to himself.<br /><br />&quot;Who else knows about this fort, Collin?&quot; asked Friendly.<br /><br />&quot;Just me and Sarah,&quot; Collin said pushing open the wooden door to the second floor leading the way into an old processing floor.<br /><br />Multiple steam powered machines sat under canvas covers collecting dust and rust. Near the window looking over the park was a pair of sleeping bags, pile of comics, snacks, and other odds and ends indicated the cubs presence.<br /><br />&quot;We can watch the whole park from here,&quot; The white kit said taking a seat in an old recliner,&quot;Home away form home.&quot; <br /><br />&quot;Wow. This looks like a great place for us to come to every so often, I just hope it stays secret&quot; said Friendly, helping Timothy to take off his waterwings.<br /><br />&quot;Where&#039;s Jake?&quot; asked Timothy, &quot;Wasn&#039;t he right behind us?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I thought so?&quot; Collin said slipping on a pair of sandals and padding along the machine floor looking for Jake.<br /><br />&quot;Jake? Where are you!&quot; cried Timothy, but there was no reply.<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;ll look over here, he&#039;s probably on the balcony&quot; said Friendly, walking over to the window.<br /><br />Timothy joined Collin on the floor, though his chubbiness meant he couldn&#039;t quite pad along like Collin could.<br /><br />Shining the light over the collection of tarp covered machines Collin searched for his new freind wondering where he had ran off to. <br /><br />Suddenly, they heard a door creaking open. They looked, and something white emerged from the open door of the nearby closet.<br /><br />&quot;Ooooooohhh!!!!!&quot; it wailed<br /><br />&quot;AAAAAAHHHHH! It&#039;s a ghost!&quot; squeaked Timothy, his hazel eyes wide with fright, staring at the intruder. He shivered a little as he tried to move his feet, but he was too petrified to even take a step back.<br /><br />&quot;Eeeppp!&quot; Collin cried dropping his flashlight to the ground which shone on the ghost&#039;s face, &quot;Get away! We don&#039;t like ghosts!&quot;<br /><br />The white kit dashed behind an old printing press hiding behind the large steel spinning wheel and piston arm from the steam engine. <br /><br />&quot;Hahaha&quot; Jake laughed, emerging from the sheet. &quot;Scared you!&quot;<br /><br />&quot;That wasn&#039;t funny! I almost wet my shorts!&quot; cried Timothy<br /><br />&quot;What you do that for?&quot; Collin asked peeking out from behind the press, &quot; You scared me...&quot; The little kit sat down hugging his tail trying to get his heart rate back to normal.<br /><br />The German Shepherd saw that he had thoroughly frightened the two younger cubs and smiled at them. &quot;I&#039;m sorry guys&quot; said Jake, &quot;I just got kinda bored&quot;<br /><br />Timothy looked down and felt the seat of his shorts, making sure he hadn&#039;t wet himself. He breathed a sigh of relief when his paw came back dry and he hugged his tail too, like Collin was doing.<br /><br />&quot;Would a hug make you feel better?&quot; asked Jake, offering his paws to Collin and Timothy.<br /><br />&quot;Kay,&quot; Collin said taking Jake&#039;s paw and getting up, &quot; You don&#039;t like our fort?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I didn&#039;t say that&quot; said Jake, &quot;I like it, I just felt like having some fun with you&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Come on Jake, let&#039;s go see the rest of the fort&quot; said Friendly, you two can rest for a while if you want.<br /><br />As Jake and Friendly went off together to see the rest of the old mill house, Timothy tugged on Collin&#039;s shoulder.<br /><br />Looking at the two older cubs run off Collin pinned his ears back looking a bit out of sorts. Turning to look at Timothy the white kit took the other&#039;s paw in his own.<br /><br />&quot;You don&#039;t think its boring do you?&quot; The hybrid asked softly. <br /><br />&quot;No, I like it. But I just wanted to say something...&quot; began Timothy, unsure how exactly to say what he wanted to tell Collin.<br /><br />&quot;What is it?&quot; Collin asked curiously his big bushy tail whisking along behind him as he held the other boy&#039;s paw tightly.<br /><br />&quot;Well... um... you remember when we slept together last night, and I was upset?&quot; asked Timothy, &quot; It was because... well... I usually wet the bed... and my pull-up leaked. That&#039;s why I was upset. I just thought I&#039;d tell you in case we sleep together again&quot; said Timothy, looking a little embarrassed.<br /><br />&quot;Oh...&quot; Collin blinked a little surprised, &quot;I didn&#039;t notice.&quot;<br /><br />The white kit said a little lost for words, feeling a bit awkward.<br /><br />&quot;Does it happen alot?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yeah, almost every time I go to sleep&quot; said Timothy, looking sadly at Collin. &quot;I can&#039;t help it... so I have to wear my pull-ups to bed. When Trent rushed you out of the room he helped me into the bathroom to get cleaned up. My pull-up leaked into my shorts, so that&#039;s why I had to borrow yours&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Oh,&quot; Collin nodded as the blanks were filled in, &quot;It&#039;s o.k. I didn&#039;t mind sharing my shorts. Do you hate having to wear pull ups?&quot;<br /><br />Timothy nodded, &quot; But Friendly makes it better for me. He always gives me a hug and tells me it&#039;s okay. I love having Friendly as my friend. I just thought I should tell you since we might be sleeping together again&quot;<br /><br />&quot;During the sleep over,&quot; Collin nodded, &quot;It&#039;s o.k. I don&#039;t mind.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Thanks Collin&quot; said Timothy, smiling at his new friend and yawning.<br /><br />Just then, Friendly and Jake returned.<br /><br />&quot;Thought you&#039;d got lost&quot; chuckled Jake, sarcastically.<br /><br />&quot;No,&quot; Collin said looking outside as the sun started to dip low, &quot; But it&#039;s getting late, we better start back and meet up with Sarah.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Can&#039;t we go to sleep here tonight?&quot; asked Jake<br /><br />&quot;Well... we could... but we&#039;d have to tell our parents first, and I haven&#039;t got Timothy&#039;s pull-ups with me&quot; said Friendly<br /><br />&quot;I don&#039;t know...&quot; Collin said chewing on his lip, &quot;...My dads don&#039;t know about this place. I don&#039;t think our folk would be o.k. with us staying here overnight.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Besides, I need my pull-ups!&quot; cried Timothy.<br /><br />&quot;Yeah, you do. Come on Timothy, let&#039;s go back to Collin&#039;s and I&#039;ll go get your pull-ups&quot; said Friendly. &quot;Maybe we can sleep over tonight&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yay!&quot; squeaked Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Okay&quot; sighed Jake, &quot;Maybe we can stay here tomorrow and sleep in the afternoon?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;That might work,&quot; Collin agreed and started down the stairs to the river, &quot; You guys have sleeping bags?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I can go get some when I get Timothy&#039;s pull-ups&quot; said Friendly, when he suddenly realized Collin didn&#039;t know about Timothy&#039;s bedwetting problem, and gasped. &quot;Ooops...&quot;<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s okay Friendly, Collin knows I need pull-ups&quot; said Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Oh... alright&quot; Friendly answered, uttering a small sigh of relief.<br /><br />&quot;Come on, let&#039;s go&quot; said Jake, with a bark.<br /><br />\tOut on the dock Collin jumped back in the water moving close to the shoreline as he retraced his steps back to the other bridge near the park.<br /><br />&quot;We can have a camp out on our porch,&quot; The white kit said as he paddled along, &quot; My room is next to Sarah&#039;s on the other side and you can see all the neighborhood form the back landing.&quot; <br /><br />&quot;Wow, that sounds neat!&quot; said Jake, as he jumped into the water and swam mid-stream towards the bridge.<br /><br />Timothy followed Collin anxiously, making sure the valves on his waterwings were nice and tight in case his feet left the bottom.<br /><br />&quot;Maybe we can sleep together? I don&#039;t like sleeping alone&quot; Timothy whispered to Collin.<br /><br />&quot;O.k.&quot; Collin whispered back his tail dragging behind in the current, &quot; It be nice to sleep together, my dads don&#039;t like it when I crawl in with them.&quot;<br /><br />Timothy trilled contently and held onto Collin&#039;s paw as they waded through the water together.<br /><br />&quot;Awww&quot; said Friendly, as he paddled along behind them.<br /><br />As they came upon the bridge their bike rest at, Sarah had gotten dressed and was holding a line of fresh trout she had caught.<br /><br />&quot;Where&#039;d you all go?&quot; The red squirrel asked as she hung the fish from her handle bars, &quot;It&#039;s getting dark, we better head back in.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yep, I gotta get some stuff from home&quot; said Friendly, putting Timothy&#039;s waterwings in his rucksack.<br /><br />&quot;We&#039;re having a sleepover!&quot; squeaked Timothy, as he got on his beloved red bike and rode around Collin.<br /><br />&quot;Well I caught us something for dinner,&quot; Sarah said as she started peddling alone leading back through the tree covered path, &quot;Though I&#039;ll need help cleaning them. Any volunteers?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Sure, I&#039;ll help&quot; said Jake, &quot;I like doing stuff like that&quot;<br /><br />Timothy rode his bike alongside Collin, his training wheels rattling along as he rolled over the bumpy woodland trail.<br /><br />&quot;I hope we don&#039;t get stuck in da mud again&quot; Timothy squeaked, &quot;I wanna get back so we can have our sleepover!&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Stay to the outside of the path,&quot; Collin suggested moving close the the edge were the grass still grew, &quot;It&#039;s not as muddy there.&quot;<br /><br />Moving along quickly Sarah took the lead close to Jake, &quot; You want to try catching fire flies tonight?&quot; The squirrel tom boy asked pushing her long red pony tail back over her shoulder, &quot;There&#039;s a great field they hide in near our house.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yeah, okay! That sounds like fun!&quot; yapped Jake<br /><br />Timothy followed Collin on the outside of the path where the mud was not as treacherous as it was in the middle, but his training wheels got hung up on a bump and he ended up high-centering his bike, with the rear wheel spinning in a rut.<br /><br />&quot;Help!&quot; cried Timothy, as he pedaled hard but didn&#039;t move.<br /><br />&quot;I gotcha buddy&quot; said Friendly, pushing on the seat of Timothy&#039;s shorts to help him clear of the rut.<br /><br />Collin navigated the path slowly and carefully making sure to steer clear of any pit falls or puddles. Once outside the forest he saw Sarah and Jake and circled about them while waiting for Timothy and Friendly.<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s really getting dark now,&quot; The small white kit said as twilight set in and the ornamental street lamps flickered on casting pale yellow light on the sidewalk.<br /><br />It wasn&#039;t very long before Timothy and Friendly joined them.<br /><br />&quot;Here we are&quot; said Friendly, grinning as he looked at Timothy&#039;s extremely muddy shorts and his own very muddy paws.<br /><br />&quot;You guys are going to need the hose when we get back,&quot; Sarah chuckled as she lead the way down the street back to her and Collin&#039;s house, &quot; You guys want to grab your stuff first and meet us there?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;ll wash my paws when I get my sleeping bag and Timothy&#039;s pull-ups&quot; Friendly said to Sarah, &quot;Timothy will definitely need a good wash though&quot;<br /><br />Timothy rode alongside Collin as they made their way back down the street.<br /><br />&quot;You, Sarah and Jake left me and Friendly behind, so I went into the middle of the path to try and catch up to you, but I got stuck in da mud again and made my shorts all dirty&quot; said Timothy, &quot;Friendly had to push me out twice&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Well I guess you and Collin can share a bath when we get back,&quot; Sarah said as she moved along in looping circles, &quot; While me and Jake clean the fish.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Don&#039;t you need a bath too?&quot; Collin asked keeping pace as they neared the corner and the rose bush he landed in the other day.<br /><br />&quot;Well yeah, but I can&#039;t have a bath with two boys,&quot; The red squirrel giggled, &quot;That&#039;d be naughty.&quot;<br /><br />Timothy smiled. The thought of sharing a bath with one of his new friends was quite exciting.<br /><br />&quot;Did you get stuck in the mud too?&quot; asked Timothy, seeing that Collin was a little bit muddy as well.<br /><br />&quot;Just a little,&quot; Collin said stopping in front of the garage and pulling out his house key, &quot; But only for a second, it wasn&#039;t a deep puddle.&quot;<br /><br />Fiddling with the lock the white kit opened the door setting his bike at the end of the garage and heading into the second set of doors.<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;m home!&quot; The half bred called out kicking of his shoes in the corner and entering the kitchen.<br /><br />&quot;Stop right there!&quot; Trent called out pointing a finger at the damp muddy cubs, &quot;You&#039;re filthy! Andrew grab some towels, Collin needs a bath.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I do too&quot; said Timothy, &quot; We kinda got stuck in the mud a few times&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I can see that,&quot; Trent moved over to wrap Timothy in a big beach towel and lifted him up and headed towards the stairs, &quot;Sarah, you can put those fish in the sink and start cleaning them, I&#039;ll be down in a bit to help you.&quot;<br /><br />Scooping up Collin, Andrew followed his mate up to the bathroom and turned on the water to fill the tub.<br /><br />&quot;You need help out of your clothes?&quot; The ferret asked Timothy while Collin got his shirt stuck over his head.<br /><br />&quot;Just my shirt please, I&#039;d like to keep my shorts on when I&#039;m in the bath&quot; said Timothy, grinning as he watched Collin struggling with his shirt.<br /><br />&quot;Can Collin wear his trunks in the bath too?&quot; asked Timothy, as he looked in the mirror at the seat of his shorts and gasped when he saw how muddy it was. &quot;Wow, I look like I pooped my pants&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Best rinse it off them,&quot; Andrew said as the ferret pulled the shower head on and attached it to the hose, &quot;Hop in Timothy, while Collin grabs his swimming shorts.&quot;<br /><br />While the small white kit dashed to his room for his swimwear the sandy ferret helped the other kit into the tub of warm water turning on the shower head and directing the spray over Timothy&#039;s muddy pelt. <br /><br />&quot;Heeheee!&quot; giggled Timothy as he felt the warm water soaking into his shorts, and grinned at Andrew as the ferret showered him. &quot;I guess I really got stuck in da mud&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Should have seen some of the messes I used to get in to,&quot; Andrew said running the head of the shower against Timothy&#039;s fur, the warm water pouring and massaging his pelt, causing the mud to run off in sheets, &quot;That&#039;s better.&quot;<br /><br />With the mud cleaned off the kit&#039;s fur the ferret let Timothy soak in the tub as Collin came back in. Rinsing off his son the adoptive father worked diligently on the puffy tail getting all of the grime out.<br /><br />&quot;You two finish up,&quot; Andrew said as he collected the dirty clothes and towels, &quot;I&#039;ll be back with fresh clothes in a moment.&quot;<br /><br />Timothy grinned as Andrew left him and Collin alone to soak in the bath.<br /><br />&quot;You shoulda seen my butt... it looked like I pooped my pants&quot; chuckled Timothy, standing up and checking to see if his shorts were free of mud.<br /><br />&quot;Urgh gross,&quot; Collin said curling up on the other side of the tub letting the water reach up to his muzzle as he relaxed, &quot; You gonna need another change of pants again?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I didn&#039;t actually, I don&#039;t need my pull-ups during the daytime&quot; chuckled Timothy, &quot; But yes I think I will need to borrow a pair of your shorts again. Or are we gonna go straight to bed after our bath?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Still got dinner,&quot; Collin said scooting close and running a wash cloth over Timothy&#039;s back, &quot;Fish and chips, Sarah and Jake should have them cleaned by now&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Oh... I forgot about dinner&quot; chuckled Timothy, grinning as Collin helped clean the fur on his back. &quot;I know, let&#039;s play a game! You close your eyes and count to ten, and I&#039;ll hide this little toy fish somewhere and you gotta find it when you open your eyes!&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Uh, o.k.&quot; The white kit placed both paws of his face resting back against the edge of the tub the water rippling in ring as he moved. <br /><br />Timothy grinned and reached behind him, opening the velcro pocket on his butt - the water muffling the sound of the velcro and he put the fish inside, patting the pocket on his shorts shut as Collin counted.<br /><br />&quot;Ten, ready or not here I come.&quot; The white kit said turning around looking about the tub for the toy.<br /><br />After a few moments the kit was puzzled and looked at Timothy, &quot;Where&#039;d you put it? Is it still in the tub?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yep... sort of&quot; said Timothy, &quot;I&#039;ll give you a clue... it&#039;s in the water, but not floating around&quot;<br /><br />Turning in place the half bred lifted his heavy water soaked tail looking behind him in case Timothy placed behind him.<br /><br />&quot;I don&#039;t see it...&quot; The kit whined then looked over the grey raccoon, &quot;Stand up, is it under you?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Nope&quot; said Timothy, standing up with his butt facing Collin. &quot; Can you see it now?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;You put it in your shorts?&quot; Collin asked placing his small paws over the lump the toy made in the swimming shorts, &quot;Well I found it then.&quot;<br /><br />Giggling the kit push the fish up to the waist band and reaching to grab it,<br /><br />Timothy suddenly started giggling uncontrollably.<br /><br />&quot;That tickles! You&#039;re tickling me!&quot; giggled the raccoon, as Collin pushed the fish upwards and pulled his velcro pocket open.<br /><br />After Collin had retrieved the toy fish, he calmed down and grinned at his friend.<br /><br />&quot;Timothy, how come you wanted to wear your trunks in the bath?&quot; The white kit asked innocently.<br /><br />&quot;Um... er... I... these are my favorite shorts... I like wearing them in the tub&quot; said Timothy.<br /><br />The white kit nodded sitting back and holding the fish in his paws.<br /><br />&quot;How come you wanted me in my shorts?&quot; Colin asked curiously, &quot;I usually don&#039;t wear them when I take a bath.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Well... I thought we could take a bath in our shorts together&quot; said Timothy, blushing again; &quot;Besides, your shorts got all muddy too&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Oh, o.k.&quot; Collin said wondering why Timothy was blushing. &quot;Want me to wash your back again?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Heehee, okay!&quot; said Timothy, sitting down again and giggling as the water soaked up inside his shorts.<br /><br />Stepping back in Andrew held a pair of gaint beach towels and a fresh set of pajamas for Collin and Timothy, &quot;O.k. boys, time to get out.&quot;<br /><br />Holding towel open for the grey kit to step in the ferret helped TImothy out of the tub and wrapped him in the warm soft cloth shaking the water from his pelt.<br /><br />&quot;Thank you&quot; said Timothy, smiling at Andrew as the ferret wrapped the towel around him and began to dry him.<br /><br />Just then, Friendly came into the bathroom too.<br /><br />&quot;Timothy, I brought another pair of your shorts with me, so you don&#039;t have to borrow Collin&#039;s&quot; said the fox, putting another pair of shorts - identical to the ones Timothy was already wearing - on the towel rail.<br /><br />&quot;Thank you Friendly,&quot; Andrew said leaving Timothy wrapped in the towel as he helped Collin in to his own, &quot; He can use them tomorrow, after dinner I think these two will be ready for bed.&quot; The ferret said leaving the night shirt he left out for Timothy to put on on the counter.<br /><br />&quot;Okay, I&#039;ll leave them there then. Here&#039;s your pull-up, Timothy&quot; said Friendly, leaving it on the toilet seat.<br /><br />&quot;Thank you Friendly&quot; said Timothy, pulling his untied shorts down and drying himself before changing into his pull-up and nightshirt.<br /><br />&quot;What&#039;s for dinner, Andrew?&quot; asked the raccoon.<br /><br />&quot;Fish and chips,&quot; Andrew said as he hugged and dried Collin off, &quot;Sarah and Jake should be done cleaning them and Trent should have them in the pan by now.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Ooooh, goody!&quot; squeaked Timothy.<br /><br />&quot;Alright, I&#039;ll go help them with the chips&quot; said Friendly.<br /><br />Helping Collin into his night shirt the ferret handed Timothy a grooming brush, &quot;Need help brushing out your fur?&quot; <br /><br />&quot;Yes please&quot; replied Timothy, looking sadly in the mirror at his thick fur as it stuck out on end, and instead looking at his pull-up which was peeking out from underneath his nightshirt.<br /><br />&quot;What&#039;s wrong Timothy?&quot; Collin asked as his own puff tail lifted the back of his night gown a little too, &quot;Don&#039;t you like your pajamas?&quot;<br /><br />Heading back down stairs Andrew let the cubs to it as he went to wash their cloth and help set the table. <br /><br />&quot;I do... is my pull-up peeking out too much?&quot; said Timothy, blushing at his friend.<br /><br />&quot;Just a little,&quot; Collin said moving around behind and tugging the shirt down a little, &quot;Try holding your tail lower if you can, that helps with me.&quot;<br /><br />Timothy tried holding his tail lower, but he felt happy to not have to worry about hiding his pull-up or his training wheels and he couldn&#039;t help but stick his tail higher, revealing most of his pull-up.<br /><br />&quot;Let&#039;s go eat!&quot; he squeaked, opening the door for Collin and heading downstairs.<br /><br />Collin lead the way holding onto Timothy&#039;s paw as they walked down stairs and into the living room. Inside the kitchen Trent was pulling a cooking pan out of the oven the trout steaming as he placed it on the table. The bench seat were pulled out with Sarah and Jake already sitting fork and knives in paw as Andrew was pouring drinks.<br /><br />&quot;What you guys want orange juice, milk?&quot; The ferret asked as Trent started to dish out the fish and scalloped potatoes. <br /><br />&quot;Milk please&quot; said Timothy, sitting down next to Friendly with his tail still held up high, showing how happy and excited he really was.<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;m glad we met you guys, things have never been so good&quot; said Friendly, &quot;Even Timothy&#039;s very happy&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;m glad Collin has found a few more good friends,&quot; Trent says after passing around the meal and taking a seat with the small white kit between him and Andrew, &quot;He&#039;s new to the school and only has Sarah as a close friend so far. Thanks for getting to know him.&quot;<br /><br />Collin smiles as eh nuzzles a bit with his papas and the family digs in to the fish congratulating Sarah for the catch.<br /><br />&quot;You&#039;re welcome&quot; said Friendly, suddenly dropping his fork onto the floor. &quot;Ooops, sorry&quot; he said, reaching down for it.<br /><br />Jake smiled at Sarah. &quot;Yeah, thanks Sarah&quot;<br /><br />On the way back up, Friendly couldn&#039;t help but notice Timothy&#039;s fully exposed pull-up.<br /><br />&quot;Hehe, it&#039;s a good job you don&#039;t have to hide your pull-up Timothy, because it&#039;s peeking out big time&quot;<br /><br />Timothy blushed deeply.<br /><br />Sarah grinned as she heard the exchange, but kept quiet going about her meal.<br /><br />&quot;Once we&#039;re done with dinner, I&#039;ll put Timothy and Collin to bed,&quot; Andrew said as he cleaned off his plate, &quot; You still going out to catch fire flies Sarah?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yeah, Jake said he&#039;d join me,&quot; The red squirrel said, &quot;Trent you have any extra jars we can put them in?&quot; <br /><br />&quot;Yep, said Jake&quot; wagging his tail, &quot;Actually I brought some jars with me in case I wanted to catch any insects&quot;<br /><br />As Timothy finished his small portion of fish and chips, and slurped down the rest of his milk, he couldn&#039;t help but yawn. Friendly chuckled and picked Timothy up, supporting his chubby friend by putting one hand under the raccoon&#039;s butt and patting the seat of his pull-up.<br /><br />&quot;Come on buddy, it&#039;s time for you to go to sleep&quot; he said.<br /><br />Beside Andrew, Collin was resting against his papa; his eyes drooping as he struggled to keep awake.<br /><br />&quot;Come on sweetie time to turn in,&quot; The ferret picked up his son as the kit moaned in protest and was carried upstairs.<br /><br />Once in Collin&#039;s room Andrew placed the little kit on his tummy raising his night shirt up so he could brush out his fur before bed.<br /><br />&quot;You want a brush out too Timothy?&quot; The ferret offered as Collin cooed and rested his head on his pillow.<br /><br />&quot;Yes please&quot; said Timothy, beginning to trill contently in his raccoon way as he lay alongside Collin. As he shuffled and fidgeted, his pull-up crinkled a little and he giggled.<br /><br />Andrew lifted the small grey kit&#039;s night gown and gently ran the brush through the thick fur. The rounded tips of the brush&#039;s stems massaged Timothy&#039;s pelt while parting and grooming his fur into a neat pattern. Reaching out a paw Collin held his friend&#039;s paw tightly smiling sleepily as they were gently tended to before bed. <br /><br />Timothy smiled back at Collin as he felt the brush straightening out his thick fur. He reached back and fidgeted with his pull-up before snuggling up to Collin.<br /><br />&quot;Goodnight, Collin&quot; he said, continuing to trill contently as Andrew finished brushing his fur.<br /><br />&quot;Night Timothy,&quot; Collin murmured sleepily as he cuddled close wrapping his tail about his friend as his papa pulled the covers over them and turned out the lights. Before stepping out the ferret turned on the lighthouse night light in the corner and left the kits to their rest.<br /><br />Downstairs, Friendly was finishing up the rest of his fish and chips, as was Jake.<br /><br />&quot;Now, to catch some fireflies!&quot; said Jake, taking out his glass jars from his backpack.<br /><br />&quot;Thank you Friendly,&quot; Trent said bringing out a pair of mugs of mocha for him and Andrew, &quot; You want some cocoa?&quot;<br /><br />As Andrew took a seat on the swing seat on the porch looking over the back yard Sarah lead Jake into the field waving her net around as the blinking lights danced above him.<br /><br />&quot;You&#039;re welcome&quot; said Friendly, leaving Timothy&#039;s bike on the grass and sitting next to Trent. &quot; No thanks, I don&#039;t think I&#039;ve got any room for anymore food or drink&quot; he chuckled.<br /><br />Jake chuckled and waved his net at the dancing lights above him, carefully directing them into his jar and putting the lid on tightly.<br /><br />Holding her net to the rim of her jar Sarah guided a collection of lighting bugs into the glass prison. Ducking down to place some grass and leaves inside for food the red squirrel screwed the lid on tight and returned with her prize to the porch.<br /><br />&quot;I got one of each,&quot; The tom boy stated proudly as she displayed the jar to the others. <br /><br />&quot;Um... one of each what?&quot; asked Friendly, a little perplexed.<br /><br />Jake put some grass and leaves inside his jar too and put the lid on before any of his fireflies could escape the glass jar.<br /><br />&quot;One of each color,&quot; Sarah said holding up the jar for Friendly to see.<br /><br />Inside green, blue, and white bursts of light fluttered about in a miniature fireworks display.<br /><br />&quot;Oh wow!&quot; said the fox, &quot; You did do well for yourself&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Look, I got quite a lot of fireflies too!&quot; yapped Jake<br /><br />&quot;That&#039;s a nice haul kido,&quot; Andrew said peering into Jake&#039;s jar, &quot;Make sure you take care of them.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;You all ready for bed?&quot; Trent asked sipping his coffee, &quot;We&#039;ll set up the pull out coach if you are.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yeah, I think so&quot; said Friendly, resting his paws on his full stomach and groaning slightly. &quot;I&#039;m not used to eating so much&quot; he explained.<br /><br />Jake put his jar of fireflies on the table and went over to Timothy&#039;s bike.<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;ll put Timothy&#039;s bike in the garage too, that way if it rains it won&#039;t get all rusty&quot; said Jake, sitting on Timothy&#039;s bike and turning the pedals, grinning as he heard the plastic training wheels rattling along behind him.<br /><br />Trent turned inside heading to the living room and lifting off the cushions and pulling out the guest fold away bed. Pulling on a fresh pair of sheets and pillows the hare made the living room into an extra guest room.<br /><br />&quot;All set you,&quot; Trent called out as Andrew headed upstairs to check on Timothy and Collin, &quot; You guys have your pajamas?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yep&quot; said Friendly<br /><br />&quot;No&quot; whimpered Jake<br /><br />&quot;Don&#039;t worry Jake, I got your pajamas when I went to get Timothy&#039;s pull-ups&quot; said the fox, giving his friend a lick on the cheek.<br /><br />&quot;O.k.&quot; I&#039;ll leave you too to it then,&quot; Trent said heading up stairs.<br /><br />In Collin&#039;s room Andrew stroked his son&#039;s head gently tucking him in tight before checking on Timothy, rubbing his back softly before pulling up his night gown a bit to make sure he was still dry.<br /><br />Timothy trilled contently as he felt Andrew&#039;s paw rubbing his back and he stirred a little, opening his eyes.<br /><br />&quot;Huh? What&#039;s wrong? Oh no...&quot; groaned the raccoon, as he felt his soaked pull-up rubbing against his fur.<br /><br />&quot;Easy kido, easy,&quot; Andrew hushed as he lifted Timothy up in his arms, &quot;It&#039;ll be o.k. lets get you cleaned up.&quot;<br /><br />The ferret carried the little kit to the bathroom, lifting the night shirt off and tugging the damp pull-up off. Tossing it away Andrew lifted Timothy into the tub and ran warm water from the shower head and started to wash him up.<br /><br />&quot;Sorry Andrew&quot; sniffled Timothy, as the ferret helped him out of his wet pull-up and into the tub. &quot;What&#039;s the time?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Half past midnight,&quot; The ferret said runn the water over the damp pelt and soaping it up with his fingers, &quot;Don&#039;t worry sweet heart, it&#039;s o.k almost done.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Really? Wow&quot; said Timothy, &quot;I guess I drank too much milk or something. Is Friendly still up?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Think he and Jake just bedded down for the night,&quot; Andrew said toweling the kit off, &quot; You want me to get him?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yes please&quot; said Timothy, smiling at Andrew and giving him a little hug.<br /><br />Ruffling the boy&#039;s headfur, Andrew left the kit wrapped in the towel and headed downstairs to see if Friendly was still up.<br /><br />Friendly was just tucking himself and Jake into bed when he heard Andrew coming back downstairs.<br /><br />&quot;Oh... hi Andrew. Is something wrong?&quot; he asked.<br /><br />&quot;Timothy would like to talk to you,&quot; Andrew whispered into Friendly&#039;s ear, &quot; He had an accident.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Oh... poor Timothy&quot; said Friendly, getting a fresh pull-up for Timothy to put on. &quot;Where is he? Is he still in bed?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;No, he&#039;s in the bathroom,&quot; The ferret said leading back up stairs letting Friendly alone with Timothy to finish up.<br /><br />&quot;Okay&quot; said Friendly, as he entered the bathroom and saw Timothy wrapped in his towel.<br /><br />&quot;Friendly... I wet the bed again&quot; sniffled Timothy<br /><br />&quot;I know, it&#039;s okay buddy&quot; said Friendly, hugging his friend and kissing his cheek. &quot; Here, I got you another pull-up&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Thanks Friendly&quot; said Timothy, as the fox unwrapped the towel from him and put him in his new pull-up and his nightshirt.<br /><br />&quot;Do you wanna sleep with Collin, or with me and Jake?&quot; asked Friendly<br /><br />&quot;Um... I think I&#039;d better sleep with Collin, he&#039;ll be wondering what happened to me&quot; said the raccoon.<br /><br />&quot;Okay, come on, I&#039;ll take you&quot; said Friendly, carrying Timothy back into Collin&#039;s bedroom and rubbing the seat of his pull-up.<br /><br />In the bed room Collin was whimpering a bit as he reached across the sheets, searching for his friend as he slept.<br /><br />Timothy trilled contently as Friendly lay him next to Collin and patted the seat of his pull-up.<br /><br />&quot;There you go, lil&#039; buddy. All nice and dry now&quot; said the fox, giving Timothy a kiss on his cheek and smiling as he snuggled up to Collin again.<br /><br />&quot;Goodnight&quot; said Timothy<br /><br />&quot;Goodnight Timothy&quot; said Friendly, gently closing the bedroom door behind him.<br /><br />Feeling the warmth next to him again Collin opened his eyes sleepily holding onto Timothy tightly. &quot;What&#039;s wrong...&quot; The kit moaned rubbing his eyes, &quot;Where&#039;d you go?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I wet my pull-up again, so your dad came and cleaned me up&quot; said Timothy, giving his friend an innocent little smile.<br /><br />&quot;Oh,&quot; Collin cuddling up close wrapping his puffy tail about his freind, &quot; You all better then?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yep, I am now. Hey, do you wanna wear a pull-up too? I took an extra one and put it under the bed&quot; said Timothy.<br /><br />&quot;I dunno...&quot; Collin stammered a bit nuzzling into Timothy, &quot;Does it feel nice?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;It sorta does&quot; said Timothy, reaching down for the pull-up and then helping Collin slip it on underneath his nightshirt.<br /><br />&quot;Feels kind of weird,&quot; Collin said blushing a bit as the soft absorbent material was pressing into his tender spots, &quot; But nice.&quot; <br /><br />&quot;It does feel kinda comfy, that&#039;s the only reason I don&#039;t mind wearing them at night. It&#039;s better than wet sheets&quot; said Timothy, curiously putting his paw on Collin&#039;s pull-up.<br /><br />Collin trilled softly at the touch blushing a little deeper as he never been touched there by anyone but his daddys. &quot;I bet it feel icky when wet though...&quot;<br /><br />&quot;No... it just feels a little uncomfortable&quot; said Timothy, removing his paw from Collin&#039;s butt and snuggling up with him again. &quot;I don&#039;t get to have many sleepovers though because the other kids will laugh at me for still needing my pull-ups at night&quot;<br /><br />&quot;That&#039;s not nice,&quot; Collin said, curling up with his friend and bringing the tip of his tail to his mouth, sucking on the soft fur there.<br /><br />&quot;I know... but you didn&#039;t laugh at me, and now we&#039;re both in pull-ups&quot; chuckled Timothy, wrapping his tail around Collin and snuggling up with him again. &quot;Goodnight Collin&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Night Timothy,&quot; Collin murmured resting against his friend listen to the crinkle form below and feeling a bit more safe then he normally would.<br /><br />Timothy trilled contently in his raccoon way and was soon asleep, still snuggled up with Collin.<br /><br />-- The End --<br /><br /></span>",
