"description": "(Content warning: prompt will link out to a story submission containing themes including cub, rape, violence, and possibly death. Comments below will contain reactions thereto, and possibly similar played out under the Elimination placeholder\n\nIf you don't feel you can read the Elimination, there is a brief summary at the bottom of this description. It is white text, so highlight it to un-spoiler. I cannot promise that relying on this won't cause issues but I do understand!)\n\nAfter their dramatic escape, a night, and then a morning, and, \"Everyone?\"\n\nWere cubs starting to get a little uncomfortable with that word? When was the last time it had heralded good news, especially from *Minerva's pretty, all-seeking voice?\n\nBut once again, it was inevitable - although not quite as inevitable. For once, the party was contained. One way or another, there was no way out of the inn to which *Minerva had brought them, the theme presenting its sealed-off nature as a sanctuary. That meant *Minerva could reasonably exercise a little patience, the haloed, hagoromo-framed little fox floating quietly an inch above the floor of the inn's main room.\n\nOnly once it was screamingly obvious that anyone not attending was not trying to get there - rather than simply navigating down from the highest parts or attempting to get dry after a bath - did *Minerva resort to bliping anyone.\n\n\nOnce the remaining eleven cubs were assembled, *Minerva cast her gaze over the entirety and, \"It is time for us to begin another round.\"\n\nComplicated expression. Again. The show-deity impulse was there, but without specific instructions to deploy it fully, it was visibly warring with regret and upset and wanting to smile for her players, too.\n\n\"But before I announce everyone's Life Points, I have been given the opportunity to hand out mail from everyone.\"\n\nThis time, the mail round was a much more civilized affair. *Minerva let herself cease hovering, bare foot paws touching down the wooden floor, whereupon she went around the cubs for whom she had messages, one by one. Starting with Trixie.\n\n\"Trixie? I have two messages for you. The first one, I found left for you at your previous camp, and was given permission to bring it forward.\"\n\nShe did not say anything about the second message, but the first was clearly a torn out and folded page from one of the story books they no longer had (the inn did have a few texts kicking about, but they were clearly more intended for in-setting grown-ups. Histories, herbals, recipe books, and so on). The other was neatly folded and held closed with a wax seal, just like the last round.\n\nThis continued, although only Trixie and Connie had more than one. Letters were handed out, in turn, to Ash, Fifi, Jacob, Petal, Pity, Poly, and Skylar.\n\n((I have PM'ed each of you with the contents of your 'letters', you are free to let others see as you respond, or not!))\n\nAfter she had handed them out, *Minerva waited patiently for everyone to have their chance to look, but then...\n\n\n\"And, with that done, would you all like to sit down? It is time for me to tell you a story.\"\n\nOop, there was presenter-fox mode taking priority. *Minerva's eyes didn't change, but a kind of warm enthusiasm infected the rest of her features as she stepped to one side. The inn's various little gas lamps dimmed, everyone had a few moments to find a seat before the inevitable freeze, and...\n\nThis time was a little bit different. After all, they were in a city now! And while a puppet theater did not really fit the scene, what they did have was the bar. The lights there were different, brighter and more focused instead of dimmed, and... yep, there were the puppets again. The same flat, articulated paper figures as had featured in the little pre-showing 'cut-scenes', albeit this time genuinely present. Complete with a simplistically drawn background that had popped up to obscure the bar-back. And *Minerva began to speak.\n\n\"Once upon a time, there were twelve little cubs,\" subtle, but emphasize on 'twelve' nonetheless. Before the last elimination, the telling had said 'thirteen'.\n\n\"Those twelve little cubs had been sent on a quest, and together they traveled across wide open plains and up into unforgiving mountains.\"\n\nThe background even changed! Trundling by like a canvas on rollers to turn slowly into an approximation of the rocky plataeu where they had camped last.\n\n\"But then, a land slide! The cubs ran and ran, and almost made it out, but unfortunately one of those cubs just could not keep up, and-!\"\n\nOkay, that dramatic image of puppet-Cyber falling to his 'doom' had never happened. But it did look awfully cool. Even if that was the moment that everyone's perceptions chose to rush in on the scene and -\n \t\n#L3556620\nElimination 1 - Cyber\nWARNING: this submission contains cub, rape, violence, and gore.\nSee submission tags for full list\n \t\n\nThe rules were just as they had been on previous occasions. Nobody could move. With great difficulty, hands could be raised or heads turned away. Eyes could be forced to close. And *Minerva looked as distraught as ever as she had to witness the full horror of what Cyber had gone through.\n\nBrave stands against the monstrous fox, the violence, the being changed... the gratuity that exceeded even what Cinnamon had been through, although at least, perhaps, less drawn out than having a train run on her by an entire tribe of beast-kin.\n\n\"And now we know what became of Cyber. I hope you have all thought hard about what to choose for your upcoming challenge.\"\n\n*Minerva closed her eyes for a moment, seeming to check, and then as the new symbol faded away to leave only the chosen one burned into the floor of the inn, \"This was your selection. I hope you enjoy puzzling out its meaning over the coming days.\n\nAnd, now, it is time for me to reveal who will be leaving your party this time.\"\n\nShe cast her eyes over the assembled, still-unable-to-leave cubs, one at a time.\n\n\"Connie, including the votes you received, you finished this round with fifteen Life Points. Once again, congratulations on winning the round.\n\n\"Jacob, you were close behind Connie, with fourteen Life Points, and just behind you was Daniel, with thirteen.\n\n\"Behind the two of you, with twelve, were Poly, Trixie, and Petal.\n\n\"And finally, with the least Life Points this round - eleven - are Skylar, Sebastian, Ash, Pity, and Josephine. Ash, you did not select someone to protect this week. I must warn you that you will only be allowed to make this mistake once: failure to select someone to protect in future will result in a penalty of one Life Point against yourself.\"\n\nThe results listed off... well, \"This leaves us with a tie between five of you, and so I must work my way down the list of tie-breaker conditions.\n\n\"Ash, Skylar, Pity, Josephine, so far you have lost none of the challenges. Sebastian, you were the last to escape your bonds in the most recent challenge, for a total of one challenge lost. The tie is broken.\"\n\nAnd that was that. *Minerva padded across the floor of the inn to where Sebastian was held in place, and reached to take both his paws in her own.\n\n\"Sebastian, it is time for you to go. Is there anything you would like to say to your friends?\"\n\nJust like with Cyber, *Minerva's hold was inescapable. It was not hard, or tight - her paws were just as soft and warm as ever. But while she waited patiently for Sebastian to say his piece, it would still be impossible to escape that should-have-been-pleasant hold.\n\nAnd after that? *Minerva looked at him for a moment longer, and then the two of them were gone.\n \t\n\nOnce again, the group were released from 'story time's hold. Again, *Minerva did not return, but a moment after her departure something did happen!\n\nShutters over windows throughout the inn sprang open! The latches holding closed the front and back doors of the establishment loudly released. Nothing else changed - there were even two free sleeping spaces once again. One bed that presumably had been intended for Cyber, and one that had been Sebastian's. There had never been one for Cinnamon.\n\n\nAnd outside the inn? Well, perhaps those more familiar would be the best to introduce their surroundings! Because instead of wide open plains, or a open, craggy plateau, this time the cubs found themselves surrounded by... city!\n\nIt was absolutely the city of an online game, but that did not make it all that small. There was a big, open, circular area at the center of it all (onto which their inn faced!), with a large and complicated fountain babbling cheerfully away in the center. Plenty of other shops were also present and open, many of them still fully stocked with all kinds of food and sundry items!\n\nIn fact, very noteworthy perhaps, was the fact that while accessible, the only establishments that did not have stocks ripe for cubs to raid were those that stocked 'usable items' in the literal RPG sense.\n\nFurther out from the town center there was a park, and even a really very impressive bath house, before the city walls far too tall for anyone to scale (no need for a blip-barrier here!), and a cathedral to Chains of Serenity's in-setting religion.\n\nThat held the other 'fun' discovery. The decor inside the cathedral was restrained, but outside, in the center of a second, slightly smaller plaza than the main one, was a plinth bearing an arrangement of statues. A whole bunch of characters were stood there, depicted in smooth white marble. And judging by the preponderance of (inexplicably floating) halos and hagoromo, these represented the game's pantheon.\n\nAnd it was not just cubs! If anything, it looked like a big family. Adults stood together in the center, some old, some buff, some wise. Younger adults stood shorter surrounding. It was only the array of different species that undermined the 'family' impression, although lore buffs would tell you that's what they were all the same.\n\nAnd around the outside were the cubs! All around *Minerva's age, some a little taller, some a little smaller. All smiling beatifically out at the utterly deserted city. Among several were a dove girl in flowing robes that opened up in all kinds of places, a mouse boy in an outfit that was remarkably revealing for clearly being traveler's attire, a little sheep girl who wore even more revealing raiments than *Minerva... and of course *Minerva herself, looking right at home and no more special than the other depicted deities.\n\nThe only other thing to stand out in the empty city, were that for those who gave exploring a go over the coming days, if they were lucky, cubs might each turn up a... sphere. Just a plain, circular orb about the size of a large orange, each one a hue that matched its finder.\n\nFinally, once again, the symbol they had selected, that recess-sided square with its V-shape within, began to appear here and there. Not constantly, but enough so that even whilst exploring, cubs would stumble across it here and there. A suspiciously shaped, temporary cloud formation. A shadow on the wall of a building. The creases in someone's bed-sheets.\n\n<Please roleplay responses by replying to the appropriate ‘Reactions’ comment below! Remember to PM me your character's vote for who to save by the end of Thursday. The next prompt will ideally be posted on Friday, in 5 days' time.>\n\n \n\nSummary/Key points:\n - *Minerva did not return yet.\n - *Minerva informed everyone that they had, by a majority vote, selected the\n recessed-square-and-V symbol.\n - Again, I was still one vote short this week! Please, everyone remember to vote as early\n as possible, even if only provisionally, even if only to abstain. I don't like having to assign\n votes at random. Remember you can PM me a change of vote up until I drop the\n subsequent prompt, so there is no danger with an early one.\n - Story-time on this occasion played out above the bar, with everyone once again unable\n to leave, but able to close their eyes or - with effort - cover them or look away. When was the last time it had heralded good news, especially from *Minerva's pretty, all-seeking voice?

But once again, it was inevitable - although not quite as inevitable. For once, the party was contained. One way or another, there was no way out of the inn to which *Minerva had brought them, the theme presenting its sealed-off nature as a sanctuary. That meant *Minerva could reasonably exercise a little patience, the haloed, hagoromo-framed little fox floating quietly an inch above the floor of the inn's main room.

Only once it was screamingly obvious that anyone not attending was not trying to get there - rather than simply navigating down from the highest parts or attempting to get dry after a bath - did *Minerva resort to bliping anyone.

Once the remaining eleven cubs were assembled, *Minerva cast her gaze over the entirety and, "It is time for us to begin another round."

Complicated expression. Again. The show-deity impulse was there, but without specific instructions to deploy it fully, it was visibly warring with regret and upset and wanting to smile for her players, too.

"But before I announce everyone's Life Points, I have been given the opportunity to hand out mail from everyone."

This time, the mail round was a much more civilized affair. *Minerva let herself cease hovering, bare foot paws touching down the wooden floor, whereupon she went around the cubs for whom she had messages, one by one. Starting with Trixie.

"Trixie? I have two messages for you. The first one, I found left for you at your previous camp, and was given permission to bring it forward."

She did not say anything about the second message, but the first was clearly a torn out and folded page from one of the story books they no longer had (the inn did have a few texts kicking about, but they were clearly more intended for in-setting grown-ups. Histories, herbals, recipe books, and so on). The other was neatly folded and held closed with a wax seal, just like the last round.

This continued, although only Trixie and Connie had more than one. Letters were handed out, in turn, to Ash, Fifi, Jacob, Petal, Pity, Poly, and Skylar.

((I have PM'ed each of you with the contents of your 'letters', you are free to let others see as you respond, or not!))

After she had handed them out, *Minerva waited patiently for everyone to have their chance to look, but then...

"And, with that done, would you all like to sit down? It is time for me to tell you a story."

Oop, there was presenter-fox mode taking priority. *Minerva's eyes didn't change, but a kind of warm enthusiasm infected the rest of her features as she stepped to one side. The inn's various little gas lamps dimmed, everyone had a few moments to find a seat before the inevitable freeze, and...

This time was a little bit different. And *Minerva began to speak.

"Once upon a time, there were twelve little cubs," subtle, but emphasize on 'twelve' nonetheless. Before the last elimination, the telling had said 'thirteen'.

"Those twelve little cubs had been sent on a quest, and together they traveled across wide open plains and up into unforgiving mountains."

The background even changed! Trundling by like a canvas on rollers to turn slowly into an approximation of the rocky plataeu where they had camped last.

"But then, a land slide! The cubs ran and ran, and almost made it out, but unfortunately one of those cubs just could not keep up, and-!"

Okay, that dramatic image of puppet-Cyber falling to his 'doom' had never happened. But it did look awfully cool. Even if that was the moment that everyone's perceptions chose to rush in on the scene and -

                                                       \t

\r\n\t\t\t
\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t
\r\n\t\t\t

Elimination 1 - Cyber
WARNING: this submission contains cub, rape, violence, and gore.
See submission tags for full list

                                                       \t

The rules were just as they had been on previous occasions. Nobody could move. With great difficulty, hands could be raised or heads turned away. Eyes could be forced to close. And *Minerva looked as distraught as ever as she had to witness the full horror of what Cyber had gone through.

Brave stands against the monstrous fox, the violence, the being changed... the gratuity that exceeded even what Cinnamon had been through, although at least, perhaps, less drawn out than having a train run on her by an entire tribe of beast-kin.

"And now we know what became of Cyber. I hope you have all thought hard about what to choose for your upcoming challenge."

*Minerva closed her eyes for a moment, seeming to check, and then as the new symbol faded away to leave only the chosen one burned into the floor of the inn, "This was your selection. I hope you enjoy puzzling out its meaning over the coming days.

And, now, it is time for me to reveal who will be leaving your party this time."

She cast her eyes over the assembled, still-unable-to-leave cubs, one at a time.

"Connie, including the votes you received, you finished this round with fifteen Life Points. Once again, congratulations on winning the round.

"Jacob, you were close behind Connie, with fourteen Life Points, and just behind you was Daniel, with thirteen.

"Behind the two of you, with twelve, were Poly, Trixie, and Petal.

"And finally, with the least Life Points this round - eleven - are Skylar, Sebastian, Ash, Pity, and Josephine. Ash, you did not select someone to protect this week. I must warn you that you will only be allowed to make this mistake once: failure to select someone to protect in future will result in a penalty of one Life Point against yourself."

The results listed off... well, "This leaves us with a tie between five of you, and so I must work my way down the list of tie-breaker conditions.

"Ash, Skylar, Pity, Josephine, so far you have lost none of the challenges. Sebastian, you were the last to escape your bonds in the most recent challenge, for a total of one challenge lost. The tie is broken."

And that was that. *Minerva padded across the floor of the inn to where Sebastian was held in place, and reached to take both his paws in her own.

"Sebastian, it is time for you to go. Is there anything you would like to say to your friends?"

Just like with Cyber, *Minerva's hold was inescapable. It was not hard, or tight - her paws were just as soft and warm as ever. But while she waited patiently for Sebastian to say his piece, it would still be impossible to escape that should-have-been-pleasant hold.

And after that? *Minerva looked at him for a moment longer, and then the two of them were gone.

                                                                                                                                                   \t

Once again, the group were released from 'story time's hold. Again, *Minerva did not return, but a moment after her departure something did happen!

Shutters over windows throughout the inn sprang open! The latches holding closed the front and back doors of the establishment loudly released. Nothing else changed - there were even two free sleeping spaces once again. One bed that presumably had been intended for Cyber, and one that had been Sebastian's. There had never been one for Cinnamon.

And outside the inn? Well, perhaps those more familiar would be the best to introduce their surroundings! Because instead of wide open plains, or a open, craggy plateau, this time the cubs found themselves surrounded by... city!

It was absolutely the city of an online game, but that did not make it all that small. There was a big, open, circular area at the center of it all (onto which their inn faced!), with a large and complicated fountain babbling cheerfully away in the center. Plenty of other shops were also present and open, many of them still fully stocked with all kinds of food and sundry items!

In fact, very noteworthy perhaps, was the fact that while accessible, the only establishments that did not have stocks ripe for cubs to raid were those that stocked 'usable items' in the literal RPG sense.

Further out from the town center there was a park, and even a really very impressive bath house, before the city walls far too tall for anyone to scale (no need for a blip-barrier here!), and a cathedral to Chains of Serenity's in-setting religion.

That held the other 'fun' discovery. The decor inside the cathedral was restrained, but outside, in the center of a second, slightly smaller plaza than the main one, was a plinth bearing an arrangement of statues. A whole bunch of characters were stood there, depicted in smooth white marble. And judging by the preponderance of (inexplicably floating) halos and hagoromo, these represented the game's pantheon.

And it was not just cubs! If anything, it looked like a big family. Adults stood together in the center, some old, some buff, some wise. Younger adults stood shorter surrounding. It was only the array of different species that undermined the 'family' impression, although lore buffs would tell you that's what they were all the same.

And around the outside were the cubs! All around *Minerva's age, some a little taller, some a little smaller. All smiling beatifically out at the utterly deserted city. Among several were a dove girl in flowing robes that opened up in all kinds of places, a mouse boy in an outfit that was remarkably revealing for clearly being traveler's attire, a little sheep girl who wore even more revealing raiments than *Minerva... and of course *Minerva herself, looking right at home and no more special than the other depicted deities.

The only other thing to stand out in the empty city, were that for those who gave exploring a go over the coming days, if they were lucky, cubs might each turn up a... sphere. Just a plain, circular orb about the size of a large orange, each one a hue that matched its finder.

Finally, once again, the symbol they had selected, that recess-sided square with its V-shape within, began to appear here and there. Not constantly, but enough so that even whilst exploring, cubs would stumble across it here and there. A suspiciously shaped, temporary cloud formation. A shadow on the wall of a building. The creases in someone's bed-sheets.

<Please roleplay responses by replying to the appropriate ‘Reactions’ comment below!
