"writing": "Chapter 29: Crush the Toxic Shocks\n\nThanks to the work of Joshua and the Dead Bones, there were no traps or scouts from the Toxic Shocks to impede their march. Dee and Volca caught up to Joshua at the front as they marched through Hisui.\n\n“Thank you for doing this,” Joshua didn’t turn his head, “You’re taking a great risk joining this battle.”\n\n“I know,” Dee said, “but I’ll see this through.”\n\n“We all will,” Lloyd had caught up and still held his scalchops, with the blades retracted.\n\n“I think I see them ahead,” Volca squinted at several figures in the distance.\n\nJoshua drew his pistol and checked its ammunition, “Our goal is to kill Toxic Shock Syndrome’s war chief, Salt-Upon-Wounds. Once he’s dead the rest will scatter and can be easily picked off. Ask for and give no quarter for they will show none.”\n\nLloyd crossed his arms as Sword Dance aura appeared around him as Dee flexed her arms and aura flowed through her body with Bulk Up, her muscles expanding slightly and her skin hardening. Then everyone charged.\n\nToxic Shock Syndrome was scattered across the opposite bank of the river and heard the charge. Disorganized, some started shouting, others opened fire with their submachineguns and some tried to launch Outbursts at them. The Dead Bones ran to the front and the electricity just deflected off their ground-type skin, but several fell to volleys from the Toxic Shocks’ SMGs, though many more shots went wide and several of the guns jammed. Then they closed the distance.\n\n“Aqua Jet!” Lloyd charged out in front, wreathed in water, and slammed into the closest Toxtricity-woman, “Razor Shell!” he decapitated them in one strike. A zap of lightning to his side forced Lloyd to power through the pain as he spun at the attacker, “Aqua Tail!” his water-coated tail slammed into the Toxtricity-man’s chest and knocked him back into one of the Sorrows, who finished the Toxic Shock with a slash from her Ursa-guai gauntlet.\n\nDee created an aura bone staff and unleashed a Bone Rush on the first Toxtricity-person she ran into. Joshua Graham fired his pistol as he ran before he drew his Bone Club to smash the Toxtricity-people in his way. Volca opened fire from her assault rifle before everyone else joined the fray then began to Blaze Kick her way through. The Toxic Shocks fought back with gun sound and lightning but were overwhelmed by the Sorrows, Dead Bones, Dee, Lloyd, Volca and especially Joshua Graham. The Fire/Ghost Marowak-man’s rage was palpable even to those who couldn’t sense aura.\n\nThe Toxic Shocks’ attempt to push back quickly turned into a fighting retreat. Their electric and poison techniques proved nearly useless against the dead bones and their barely maintained guns jammed or misfired from prolonged use. Dee, Joshua and Lloyd were out in front with Volca right behind them. The battle wound up in the river, going the opposite direction from the Dead Bones’ camp and into a deep canyon entrance. The narrow fissure forced Joshua into the lead and right into an ambush. Despite being riddled with bullets, Joshua charged through and beat them down with his Bone Club, long enough for Dee, Lloyd and Volca to break through and clear the way for the rest of the tribes.\n\n“Don’t stop! Press the attack!” Joshua shouted, firing at a Toxtricity-man in his way then charging at them with his own Bone Rush to break through despite his injuries.\n\nThe Toxic Shocks fell as the combined weight of the Dead Bones and Sorrows fell on them. Dee saw Joshua charge away and pointed with her aura bone staff, “That way, hurry!” then took off after Joshua, striking several Toxic Shocks that had survived Joshua’s own charge with her own Bone Rush.\n\n“Aqua Jet!” Lloyd smashed into another Toxtricity-woman and landed next to Dee, scalchops drawn and blades ignited, “Can’t let him get ahead,” the Dewott-man crossed his weapons then charged at the nearest Toxtricity-man, “Razor Shell!” he decapitated him as he and Dee led the charge for the two tribes into the heart of Toxic Shock Syndrome’s camp.\n\nJoshua had charged far ahead and reached the heart of the camp, confronted by an Amped Toxitricity-man with a power fist wearing a helmet made of an old football helmet with the jawbone of a Tauros and fake dreadlocks made of empty shotgun shells, Toxic Shock Syndrome’s war chief Salt-Upon-Wounds.\n\nAn explosion rent the canyon walls which forced Dee and Lloyd to jump back as an avalanche of rocks fell into the canyon, completely blocking their way. Dee and Lloyd took a few steps back as Volca and the others caught up.\n\n“Now what?” Volca turned to the two aura masters. She was injured but not too badly\n\n“It sounds like they used fire clay,” Waking Cloud had caught up to them.\n\n“I’m familiar with that stuff,” Dee was searching the wall, “I could jump over the wall but I can tell the fighting over there’s fierce and I don’t want to face it alone.”\n\n“There are caves nearby, they may lead to the camp,” Follows-Chalk had arrived and pointed up at a slope that led to a nearby cave.\n\n“Or we could search this camp for more fire clay,” Waking Cloud pointed to the camp surrounding them, which was filled with scrap and debris from the Toxic Shock’s conquests including pre-war appliances.\n\n“No time, Joshua needs our help. Everyone stand back,” Dee injected a stimpack into her arm where she’d been injured and let the healing drug circulate thanks to her augmented heart then put her hands in front of her chest and refocused her aura with Calm Mind. Dee put her hands to her side and began to form a silver ball of aura.\n\nEveryone stepped back except for Lloyd, who gave Dee a concerned look as he sheathed his scalchops, “Dee, don’t overdo it.”\n\nThe ball in between Dee’s hands grew to the size of the basketball, “I’ll be fine, just be ready to run in when I fire.” Dee took a deep breath as the silver ball turned purplish then she shot her hands forwards and fired a wide Steel Beam at the wall of stone. Pain wracked Dee’s whole body as the purplish-silver beam struck the wall blew it apart. Dee fell to her knees and fumbled for another stimpack as everyone rushed into the hole she’d blown in the wall and managed to inject it into her side. She felt Volca and Lloyd help her to her feet as the stimpack took effect.\n\n“Thank you,” Dee steadied herself on her feet.\n\n“Thank us later, we have a fight to finish,” Lloyd drew his scalchops again.\n\n“He’s right, let’s finish this!” Volca pumped a fist, then all three charged into the gap.\n\nThey came to a halt inside Toxic Shock Syndrome’s main camp. Instead of seeing Joshua dead on the ground instead they found Salt-Upon-Wounds cowering on his knees. Toxic Shock Syndrome’s war chief was barely harmed while Joshua was covered in injuries as he smashed his bone club into the chest of the Toxtricity-man, which caved it in. The whole main camp was in ruins or on fire and littered with the bodies of dead Toxic Shocks.\n\nJoshua approached the cowering Salt-Upon-Wounds, pistol in hand, “We warned you at Hearthome and you persisted. You took advantage of us at New Celestica to drive us out, and like the dogs of Nobunaga you are, you followed us to Hisui. And now you stand on holy ground, a temple to Arceus’ glory. And the only use for a feral creature like you is sacrifice,” Joshua aimed his pistol at the war chief’s head. “Marowak, wak Maro maro. You understand me, don’t you? Don’t you?!”\n\nDee and Lloyd approached while everyone else stood in shock. Salt-Upon-Wounds saw them and began crying in Poke-speak, “Tox tox tox! City tricty! Toxitricity! Toxi Stop!”\n\n‘Outsider! Ghost-Marowak mad! Kill all Toxic Shock Syndrome! You talk! You stop!’\n\nDee understood, as did almost everyone assembled. “This is too much,” Dee stepped forwards as Joshua cocked the hammer of his pistol. “Joshua stop, you don’t need to do this.”\n\nJoshua took his finger off the trigger but didn’t aim it away from Salt-Upon-Wounds. “Don’t listen to this… thing! His cries are those of a mad beast caught in a thicket! He gave no mercy to my family, and I will give none to his.” \n\n “You’ve already won, look!” Lloyd sheathed his scalchops then spread his arms to indicate the carnage that surrounded them, “We’ve defeated the Toxic Shocks, you don’t need to execute him.” He looked down at Salt-Upon-Wounds.\n\nDee did the same and saw that the Toxic Shocks’ aura was literally in a pile around him and barely moving, “His spirit’s broken, he’ll never hurt anyone again.” She looked up at Joshua.\n\nJoshua kept his eyes on Salt-Upon-Wounds, “He has a debt to pay for what he’s done and I’ve come to collect. And so he’s chosen to cower in the water like a dumb beast. You two have seen what people like this can do and you’ve had to make the same choice.”\n\nLloyd stepped to the side so he no longer obscured the scene from the Dead Bones and the Sorrows and gestured to them, “What about them? They don’t need to see you do this, to see you consumed by rage and revenge.” The Dewott-man’s voice had softened. “Show him mercy, show them that you don’t need to lose yourself.”\n\nDee carefully put a hand on Joshua’s arm, the one in which he held the pistol, “If you believe what Arceus wants for us is true, he’ll pay for it without this. Let go of the hatred that drives you and stop before revenge consumes you.”\n\nJoshua’s arm slackened and he lowered the pistol from the cowering warchief. “I want to take from them what they took from me, from my family. In this life. I want them to suffer. I want all of them to die in fear and pain. I want to have my revenge. Against him. Against Nobunaga. I want to call it my own, to make my anger Arceus’ anger. To justify the things I’ve done.”\n\nDee averted her eyes and let go of the Ghost/Fire Marowak-man’s arm, “I know,” she looked back at Joshua, “I’ve been here and made that same mistake, but even if it stops him then doing this will make you feel empty inside. You’ve beaten him, now be better than him, better than Nobunaga.”\n\nJoshua sighed, “Sometimes I tell myself that these wild fires never stop burning. But I’m the one who starts them. Not Arceus. Not them.” He held up one of his hands, the bandages shredded enough that he could see the burned black skin underneath. “I can always see it, in my mind. The warmth and the heat. It will always be a part of me. But not today.” Joshua holstered his pistol and glared down at Salt-Upon-Wounds, “Go. Get out of here. Go back. Back from whence you came.”\n\nSalt-Upon-Wounds jumped to his feet and took off, out of the camp down the river and away from the rest of the people. They all watched him go until he disappeared around a bend in the canyon wall.\n\nJoshua Graham continued to watch where he had disappeared to until Lloyd spoke, “Then it’s over, we’ve won.” A cheer of victory rose from the assembled tribes as Joshua turned back to the two aura masters, “That’s it. It’s finished. Thank you both for… staying with me. I couldn’t have done this on my own.”\n\nDee smiled, “You’re welcome. Now let’s go back to the Sorrows camp and tell Daniel what’s happened. Wish I could help with your injuries.”\n\nLloyd nodded and folded his arms under his breasts, “Yeah, tons to do now that they’re gone.”\n\nAnd with that, they all exited the remains of Toxic Shock Syndrome’s camp and made their way back up the river.\n\nDaniel sat reading his prayer book as he heard the tribes returning. He saw the injured Joshua in the lead then closed his book and stood up to greet them, “So, can I assume they’re all dead.”\n\n“Most of them, Salt-Upon-Wounds has been spared. Now I must rest body, mind and soul.” Joshua stumbled away to a cave.\n\nDaniel was silent as he looked at Lloyd and Dee, he was about to say something when Dee spoke up, “Daniel, no. Toxic Shock Syndrome will never threaten anyone again and Hisui is safe.”\n\nLloyd smiled, “That’s right. Now I need to go see my mate and our eggs.” He headed into the Sorrows camp to find Dustin.\n\nDee nodded then turned to Daniel. The Hisuian Typhlosion-man had slumped back down to the ground, “I didn’t want it like this I… just wanted to keep them from being corrupted by anger.”\n\n“They weren’t,” Dee looked around and let her aura senses reach out to everyone around her, “They’ve seen that vengeance and war can be tempered with mercy and they’ll learn. More importantly, they can continue their lives and traditions and when the next threat comes they can defend themselves.” She turned back to Daniel and crouched next to him, “I’m just happy this is over. Is there any food or supplies you can give me for my trip back to Kalos.”\n\n“I can help,” Waking Cloud walked up behind Dee, “much of the food we preserved for escape is still here. You may have what we no longer need.”\n\nDee stood up and smiled at the human, “Thank you,” She looked around at the injured among the two tribes, “I’ll help who I can.” She walked to the nearest injured Sorrow and used Heal Pulse to fix his injured arm.\n\nBy the time night fell, Dee was exhausted but she used the last of her Heal Pulse energy on Lloyd then on Volca inside their tent.\n\nDee slumped down, naked on the blankets and sweating. Volca propped her head up on an arm and smirked at the shiny busty thicc Lucario-woman, “Tired?”\n\n“Exhausted,” Dee smiled, “But I feel good. Everyone feels good, except maybe Daniel but I can just feel the weight off everyone’s souls here.”\n\nVolca shuffled closer until their breasts were touching, “Not too tired for one last roll?”\n\nDee smiled and put her arms around Volca, “Nope. Thanks for being here with me through all this, Volca.”\n\nVolca hugged Dee and smiled back, “No problem.” They kissed.\n\nThe next day, Dee packed up all the food the Sorrows offered her and the water. She looked around the camp and said goodbye to the Dead Bones, who were leaving to return to their camp at the south of Hisui. They would remain in the valley for a while just in case any stragglers from Toxic Shock Syndrome lingered.\n\nWhen Dee sought out her friends Volca, Lloyd and his mate Dustin she found them in a cave with Volca and Dustin facing each other and the Blaziken-woman was topless.\n\n“Just hold still, this will sting,” Dustin had his piercing tools around him as he leaned his head close to Volca’s left nipple. He inhaled then blew a soft Icy Wind into Volca’s nipple. The Blaziken woman bit her beak as the coldness numbed her skin then watched as Dustin quickly pierced her nipple with a needle and carefully threaded a bone stud through it. Dee watched as Dustin repeated the same process on Volca’s right nippled then sat back. “There, all pierced. They’ll be sensitive for a while. But some healing aura will skip the nastier parts of the process.”\n\n“Like this,” Lloyd had stood next to the two and now crouched down, blue aura now in his hands, and carefully touched Volca’s breasts. Volca winced then relaxed as the aura was absorbed into them.\n\n“Thanks,” Volca stood up, “hey Dee. About to leave?”\n\nDee nodded, “Yes. I have a long walk back to Kalos, alone…”\n\nVolca approached, “You could always stay in Hisui.”\n\nDee smiled sadly, “Thanks, but I’m not a tribal and I have friends and business back in Kalos. Maybe I’ll visit some time,” she and Volca leaned in to kiss, but when Volca’s nipples touched Dee’s scrubs, she flinched back.\n\n“Ow! Sorry they’re sensitive.” Volca had a mild look of pain on her face.\n\n“I think we’ve done enough,” Dee stepped to the side and gave Volca a kiss on the cheek, “I’ll miss you.”\n\n“Me too.” Volca turned and picked a wrapped bundle, “Here take my tent, I won’t need it anymore.”\n\n“Thanks, Volca,” Dee took off her backpack and opened, then saw that it was too full of water, food and other supplies to pack inside, so she strapped it to the top then pulled it back on. The extra weight not even phasing her.\n\n“We’re leaving soon too,” Lloyd helped Dustin to his feet.\n\nDustin nodded and gave Dee a hug, which she returned, “Now that the Toxic Shocks are gone and I’ve laid the eggs, we want to get to the River Mothers before they hatch.” He patted his now trim belly.\n\nLloyd gave Dee a hug as well then stepped back and reached into the pouch on his shorts, “From one aura master to another, I want you to have this,” the busty Dewott-man withdrew a light blue stone and handed it to Dee, “We thought it was a water stone but it didn’t work on any of my tribesmen. My moms were convinced someone could use it and I think you can find that someone.”\n\nDee took it and examined it, “I think it’s an ice stone,” she smiled, “I know someone who can use this just…” she checked her scrubs and found the few pockets had stimpacks or water bottles in them, she wasn’t going to risk running out of supplies on the trip. “I guess I gotta stick it in here.” Dee stuffed the ice stone into her cleavage, her breasts holding it snugly in place.\n\nVolca laughed, “Whatever works,” she gave Dee a kiss on the cheek. “Goodbye.”\n\n“Goodbye,” Dee waved then turned to leave.\n\nAt the entrance to the Sorrows’s camp, Dee found Joshua Graham waiting. He had rewrapped his bandages but his aura was calmer than any time Dee had seen before. “Joshua, here to say goodbye? Where’s Daniel?”\n\n“Recuperating. I have come to say goodbye, and to thank you for everything.” Joshua took a pistol belt from around his waist and handed it to Dee, “I feel some of the fire inside me has calmed and I no longer wish to carry this with me. A Light Shining in Darkness, constructed and customised by my own hands. Even if you can’t use it, I feel you should have it as a token of my appreciation and to take it away from me.”\n\nDee took the belt, which had several clips of ammo attached, and drew the pistol to examine it: it had a bone-shaped hammer, a short barrel and a snakeskin patterned grip. She returned it to the holster and wrapped the belt loosely around her waist, her thicc hips and ass keeping it from sliding down. “Thank you, Joshua.” She was about to leave, then paused and looked back over her shoulder, “Is everything going to be alright in Hisui?”\n\nThe Fire/Ghost Marowak-man looked over the Sorrows’ camp before he spoke “Things will change, but I feel for the better. The warrior spirit that the Sorrows have felt will change them and they may become more warlike, but thanks to the example you and Lloyd convinced me to set, they will find peace. Daniel feels guilty for what’s happened, but you were right that preserving the Sorrows’ innocence at the cost of their culture would have been wrong. As for Toxic Shock Syndrome, I do believe that Salt-Upon-Wounds spirit is broken and if what I recall of the tribes near them is accurate then the Nightshades will deal with what’s left of them. For now, Daniel and I will devote our time to gathering the rest of our tribe and try to rebuild. Maybe some lost tribals we find will want to learn our ways. I recall one of our missionaries left to help a Riolu-boy find others like him that he said he’d lost years ago.”\n\nDee blinked, that sounded familiar to her, maybe it would come back to her as she walked. As she pondered the thought, she held a hand out to Joshua, who shook it, “Thank you, Joshua. I should get going, it’s gonna be a long two weeks alone on the road.” Dee let go of his hand and turned to head south. By midday she passed out of Hisui and began the long road back to Kalos.\n",

Once he’s dead the rest will scatter and can be easily picked off. Ask for and give no quarter for they will show none.”

Lloyd crossed his arms as Sword Dance aura appeared around him as Dee flexed her arms and aura flowed through her body with Bulk Up, her muscles expanding slightly and her skin hardening. Then everyone charged.

Toxic Shock Syndrome was scattered across the opposite bank of the river and heard the charge. Then they closed the distance.

“Aqua Jet!” Lloyd charged out in front, wreathed in water, and slammed into the closest Toxtricity-woman, “Razor Shell!” he decapitated them in one strike. A zap of lightning to his side forced Lloyd to power through the pain as he spun at the attacker, “Aqua Tail!” his water-coated tail slammed into the Toxtricity-man’s chest and knocked him back into one of the Sorrows, who finished the Toxic Shock with a slash from her Ursa-guai gauntlet.

Dee created an aura bone staff and unleashed a Bone Rush on the first Toxtricity-person she ran into. The Fire/Ghost Marowak-man’s rage was palpable even to those who couldn’t sense aura.

The Toxic Shocks’ attempt to push back quickly turned into a fighting retreat. Despite being riddled with bullets, Joshua charged through and beat them down with his Bone Club, long enough for Dee, Lloyd and Volca to break through and clear the way for the rest of the tribes.

“Don’t stop! Press the attack!” Joshua shouted, firing at a Toxtricity-man in his way then charging at them with his own Bone Rush to break through despite his injuries.

The Toxic Shocks fell as the combined weight of the Dead Bones and Sorrows fell on them. Dee saw Joshua charge away and pointed with her aura bone staff, “That way, hurry!” then took off after Joshua, striking several Toxic Shocks that had survived Joshua’s own charge with her own Bone Rush.

“Aqua Jet!” Lloyd smashed into another Toxtricity-woman and landed next to Dee, scalchops drawn and blades ignited, “Can’t let him get ahead,” the Dewott-man crossed his weapons then charged at the nearest Toxtricity-man, “Razor Shell!” he decapitated him as he and Dee led the charge for the two tribes into the heart of Toxic Shock Syndrome’s camp.

Joshua had charged far ahead and reached the heart of the camp, confronted by an Amped Toxitricity-man with a power fist wearing a helmet made of an old football helmet with the jawbone of a Tauros and fake dreadlocks made of empty shotgun shells, Toxic Shock Syndrome’s war chief Salt-Upon-Wounds.

An explosion rent the canyon walls which forced Dee and Lloyd to jump back as an avalanche of rocks fell into the canyon, completely blocking their way. Dee and Lloyd took a few steps back as Volca and the others caught up.

“Now what?” Volca turned to the two aura masters. She was injured but not too badly

“It sounds like they used fire clay,” Waking Cloud had caught up to them.

“I’m familiar with that stuff,” Dee was searching the wall, “I could jump over the wall but I can tell the fighting over there’s fierce and I don’t want to face it alone.”

“There are caves nearby, they may lead to the camp,” Follows-Chalk had arrived and pointed up at a slope that led to a nearby cave.

“Or we could search this camp for more fire clay,” Waking Cloud pointed to the camp surrounding them, which was filled with scrap and debris from the Toxic Shock’s conquests including pre-war appliances.

“No time, Joshua needs our help. Everyone stand back,” Dee injected a stimpack into her arm where she’d been injured and let the healing drug circulate thanks to her augmented heart then put her hands in front of her chest and refocused her aura with Calm Mind. Dee put her hands to her side and began to form a silver ball of aura.

Everyone stepped back except for Lloyd, who gave Dee a concerned look as he sheathed his scalchops, “Dee, don’t overdo it.”

The ball in between Dee’s hands grew to the size of the basketball, “I’ll be fine, just be ready to run in when I fire.” Dee took a deep breath as the silver ball turned purplish then she shot her hands forwards and fired a wide Steel Beam at the wall of stone. Pain wracked Dee’s whole body as the purplish-silver beam struck the wall blew it apart. Dee fell to her knees and fumbled for another stimpack as everyone rushed into the hole she’d blown in the wall and managed to inject it into her side. She felt Volca and Lloyd help her to her feet as the stimpack took effect.

“Thank you,” Dee steadied herself on her feet.

“Thank us later, we have a fight to finish,” Lloyd drew his scalchops again.

“He’s right, let’s finish this!” Volca pumped a fist, then all three charged into the gap.

They came to a halt inside Toxic Shock Syndrome’s main camp. The whole main camp was in ruins or on fire and littered with the bodies of dead Toxic Shocks.

Joshua approached the cowering Salt-Upon-Wounds, pistol in hand, “We warned you at Hearthome and you persisted. Don’t you?!”

Dee and Lloyd approached while everyone else stood in shock. Salt-Upon-Wounds saw them and began crying in Poke-speak, “Tox tox tox! City tricty! Toxitricity! Toxi Stop!”

‘Outsider! Ghost-Marowak mad! Kill all Toxic Shock Syndrome! You talk! You stop!’

Dee understood, as did almost everyone assembled. “This is too much,” Dee stepped forwards as Joshua cocked the hammer of his pistol. “Joshua stop, you don’t need to do this.”

Joshua took his finger off the trigger but didn’t aim it away from Salt-Upon-Wounds. “Don’t listen to this… thing! His cries are those of a mad beast caught in a thicket! He gave no mercy to my family, and I will give none to his.”

“You’ve already won, look!” Lloyd sheathed his scalchops then spread his arms to indicate the carnage that surrounded them, “We’ve defeated the Toxic Shocks, you don’t need to execute him.” He looked down at Salt-Upon-Wounds.

Dee did the same and saw that the Toxic Shocks’ aura was literally in a pile around him and barely moving, “His spirit’s broken, he’ll never hurt anyone again.” She looked up at Joshua.

Joshua kept his eyes on Salt-Upon-Wounds, “He has a debt to pay for what he’s done and I’ve come to collect. And so he’s chosen to cower in the water like a dumb beast. You two have seen what people like this can do and you’ve had to make the same choice.”

Lloyd stepped to the side so he no longer obscured the scene from the Dead Bones and the Sorrows and gestured to them, “What about them? They don’t need to see you do this, to see you consumed by rage and revenge.” The Dewott-man’s voice had softened. “Show him mercy, show them that you don’t need to lose yourself.”

Dee carefully put a hand on Joshua’s arm, the one in which he held the pistol, “If you believe what Arceus wants for us is true, he’ll pay for it without this. Let go of the hatred that drives you and stop before revenge consumes you.”

Joshua’s arm slackened and he lowered the pistol from the cowering warchief. “I want to take from them what they took from me, from my family. In this life. I want them to suffer. I want all of them to die in fear and pain. I want to have my revenge. Against him. Against Nobunaga. I want to call it my own, to make my anger Arceus’ anger. To justify the things I’ve done.”

Dee averted her eyes and let go of the Ghost/Fire Marowak-man’s arm, “I know,” she looked back at Joshua, “I’ve been here and made that same mistake, but even if it stops him then doing this will make you feel empty inside. You’ve beaten him, now be better than him, better than Nobunaga.”

Joshua sighed, “Sometimes I tell myself that these wild fires never stop burning. Go back. Back from whence you came.”

Salt-Upon-Wounds jumped to his feet and took off, out of the camp down the river and away from the rest of the people. They all watched him go until he disappeared around a bend in the canyon wall.

Joshua Graham continued to watch where he had disappeared to until Lloyd spoke, “Then it’s over, we’ve won.” A cheer of victory rose from the assembled tribes as Joshua turned back to the two aura masters, “That’s it. It’s finished. Thank you both for… staying with me. I couldn’t have done this on my own.”

Dee smiled, “You’re welcome. Now let’s go back to the Sorrows camp and tell Daniel what’s happened. Wish I could help with your injuries.”

Lloyd nodded and folded his arms under his breasts, “Yeah, tons to do now that they’re gone.”

And with that, they all exited the remains of Toxic Shock Syndrome’s camp and made their way back up the river.

Daniel sat reading his prayer book as he heard the tribes returning. He saw the injured Joshua in the lead then closed his book and stood up to greet them, “So, can I assume they’re all dead.”

“Most of them, Salt-Upon-Wounds has been spared. Now I must rest body, mind and soul.” Joshua stumbled away to a cave.

Daniel was silent as he looked at Lloyd and Dee, he was about to say something when Dee spoke up, “Daniel, no. Toxic Shock Syndrome will never threaten anyone again and Hisui is safe.”

Lloyd smiled, “That’s right. Now I need to go see my mate and our eggs.” He headed into the Sorrows camp to find Dustin.

Dee nodded then turned to Daniel. The Hisuian Typhlosion-man had slumped back down to the ground, “I didn’t want it like this I… just wanted to keep them from being corrupted by anger.”

“They weren’t,” Dee looked around and let her aura senses reach out to everyone around her, “They’ve seen that vengeance and war can be tempered with mercy and they’ll learn. More importantly, they can continue their lives and traditions and when the next threat comes they can defend themselves.” She turned back to Daniel and crouched next to him, “I’m just happy this is over. Is there any food or supplies you can give me for my trip back to Kalos.”

“I can help,” Waking Cloud walked up behind Dee, “much of the food we preserved for escape is still here. You may have what we no longer need.”

Dee stood up and smiled at the human, “Thank you,” She looked around at the injured among the two tribes, “I’ll help who I can.” She walked to the nearest injured Sorrow and used Heal Pulse to fix his injured arm.

By the time night fell, Dee was exhausted but she used the last of her Heal Pulse energy on Lloyd then on Volca inside their tent.

Dee slumped down, naked on the blankets and sweating. Volca propped her head up on an arm and smirked at the shiny busty thicc Lucario-woman, “Tired?”

“Exhausted,” Dee smiled, “But I feel good. Everyone feels good, except maybe Daniel but I can just feel the weight off everyone’s souls here.”

Volca shuffled closer until their breasts were touching, “Not too tired for one last roll?”

Dee smiled and put her arms around Volca, “Nope. Thanks for being here with me through all this, Volca.”

Volca hugged Dee and smiled back, “No problem.” They kissed.

The next day, Dee packed up all the food the Sorrows offered her and the water. She looked around the camp and said goodbye to the Dead Bones, who were leaving to return to their camp at the south of Hisui. They would remain in the valley for a while just in case any stragglers from Toxic Shock Syndrome lingered.

When Dee sought out her friends Volca, Lloyd and his mate Dustin she found them in a cave with Volca and Dustin facing each other and the Blaziken-woman was topless.

“Just hold still, this will sting,” Dustin had his piercing tools around him as he leaned his head close to Volca’s left nipple. But some healing aura will skip the nastier parts of the process.”

“Like this,” Lloyd had stood next to the two and now crouched down, blue aura now in his hands, and carefully touched Volca’s breasts.
