"writing": "Chapter 27: Gathering Storms\n\nThe rain finally stopped as they were led into the Sorrows camp, which was a far more permanent settlement than that of the Dead Bones with some shelters made of wood and drying racks both for the tanned fur of Ursa-guai and drying meat. The Sorrows were in the process of removing the dried meat and tanned leather. Lloyd glared around the camp but said nothing as the woman who had greeted them led them through the camp.\n\nThey were led to a campfire surrounded by wooden shelters with Ursa-guai hide beds. Beside one of them sat a Typhlosion-man wearing a button-down black plaid flannel shirt with rolled-up sleeves, a pair of jeans and a wide brimmed black cowboy hat. Oddly, his back-fur and beard were purplish blue and extended into a collar around his neck with three darker purple spots. He was reading a black book with the golden symbol of Arceus on the cover.\n\nHe looked up at the approaching group and the human Sorrows woman nodded, “Daniel, these are the people from the Dead Bones.”\n\nDaniel smiled and closed the book, “Thanks, Waking Cloud.” He turned to look at the arrivals, then blinked at seeing Lloyd and Dustin with their exposed breasts and focused his attention on Dee, who was in the lead, “The Dead Bones told me about the attack on your caravan. A stranger’s sympathy might not count for much, but for what it’s worth, I’m sorry.”\n\nDee nodded, “Thanks, and it does. Here,” she set the two survival packs down in front of Daniel, “These are the supplies Joshua asked us to find.”\n\nDaniel put his book away then got up to check the packs, then smiled when he saw the contents. “Thank you, these will be a great help. I’m not surprised the pre-war buildings still have intact supplies. I guess I should introduce myself: my name is Daniel of New Celestica.”\n\nDee touched her chest, “I’m Dee, not from a tribe. I grew up in Vault 18 west in NKR.”\n\n“I’m La…” the Blaziken-woman paused, cleared her throat, then continued, “Volca of the Moltres’ Embers…”\n\nLloyd dropped the sacks he had brought, “I’m Lloyd of the River Mothers and this is my mate,” he took Dustin’s hand.\n\nDustin put his other hand on his pregnant belly, “I’m Dustin, exiled from the Pierced Shadows.”\n\n“Follows-Chalk of the Dead Bones,” the Sandshrew-man introduced himself.\n\nDaniel nodded to each of them in turn, “Thank you.”\n\n“Excuse me,” Lloyd’s harsh voice cut into the conversation, “But Dustin’s close to laying our eggs. Can anyone here help him?”\n\n“I can. My name is Waking Cloud, I am midwife of the Sorrows. It sounds kind of grim, ‘Midwife to Sorrows’.” The human woman looked Dustin up and down with some confusion, “Forgive me, I’m not familiar with egg-laying.”\n\nDee turned to Waking Cloud, “I watched a friend lay an egg once and they were up and walking after a good night’s sleep. She even told me she helped with live births before and said that egg-laying’s similar but not nearly as difficult.”\n\n“Very well,” Waking Cloud offered a hand to Dustin, which he accepted, “Come with me, Miss Dustin.”\n\nThe Obstagoon-man bristled but walked with her, “I’m a man, don’t call me miss.”\n\nLloyd watched her go then turned back to Daniel.\n\nVolca regarded Daniel with interest for a moment then said, “You don’t look like the Typhlosion in my tribe.”\n\nDaniel put his book away then stood up, “I don’t know why exactly but I’m a ghost-type as well as fire, but like Joshua I’m not dead.” Daniel let his shoulder fire ignite which was only partly red but mostly brilliant purple that waved back and forth instead of roaring like typical fire with three similar orbs of fire appearing on the purple spots of his neck; Volca couldn’t help but stare in awe.\n\n“Daniel!” A voice from a Sorrows man drew their attention as he came running up, “Joshua Graham is here and the Dead Bones are camped outside.”\n\nDaniel nodded, “I expected as such. Here take this, I showed you how to use these,” the Hisuian Typhlosion-man handed one of the survival kits to the Sorrows tribal and some of the burlap sacks that Lloyd had brought, “See if you can pack the preserved food for travel and make sure everyone knows how to use the first-aid like I showed you.”\n\n“I will. Thank you, Daniel.” The Sorrows tribal man walked off towards a cave in the canyon walls that surrounded them.\n\nThey all turned to see Joshua as he approached. The Marowak-man’s presence made everyone grow tense, even Dee couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous at the aura he exuded. When Lloyd turned to face him, the busty Dewott-man only tensed for a moment but he seemed calmer than when he spoke to Daniel.\n\nJoshua looked at Lloyd for a moment before he turned to Dee and Volca, “It seems you’ve met some new friends and allies. Good. The Toxic Shocks won’t leave anyone behind, best that we gather in one place for now. Daniel,” he turned to his fellow New Celestican.\n\n“Joshua,” Daniel seemed nervous but didn’t back down, “I’m surprised you decided to break camp already.”\n\n“Toxic Shock Syndrome has begun their preparations, best that we do the same before they get too much advantage,” Joshua looked at the survival pack by Daniel’s feet, “I see the supplies have been gathered. Do the radios work?”\n\nDaniel crouched by the pack and opened it to retrieve the radios, “Looks like the batteries survived all this time. They really made these things to last in the final days.” He handed one to Joshua then took several steps back and whispered into the other radio, “testing, testing. Can you hear me?”\n\n“I can,” Joshua spoke into the radio, “Good. We can coordinate our preparations.”\n\n“To fight or to flee?” Lloyd folded his arms under his breasts as he faced Joshua, his voice turning serious.\n\nJoshua lowered the radio as Daniel returned, “Regardless of our plans we need to disrupt the Toxic Shocks or we’ll have too many obstacles to deal with.”\n\n“Joshua’s right,” Daniel attached the radio to his belt. “Toxic Shock Syndrome is probably setting up traps and camps, not to mention the Ursa-guai cave nearby, they’ll get riled up once we get moving. We also need a map of land to the east so we can navigate. The Toxic Shocks won’t be able to follow us: they can’t live off the land, even basic hunting and gathering are beyond them, they won’t survive another generation unless they join the Kogun.”\n\n“Alright,” Dee pumped her fists, “Where do we need to go?”\n\n“You’ve done enough for us now,” Joshua interjected, “You should rest and prepare for tomorrow. The Dead Bones will handle Toxic Shock Syndrome and I will personally retrieve a map from one of the caves.”\n\nDee lowered her arms, “OK, we will. And thanks for lending me your club,” Dee pulled Joshua’s bone club from behind her back and handed it to the bandaged Marowak-man, “I think I know enough to make my own now.”\n\nJoshua accepted the weapon back, the tips igniting into blue fire for a moment as he grasped it, “You will, I can tell. But I must be going. Arceus is with us but we must meet them halfway if we are to succeed. I’ll keep in contact, Daniel.” He stuck the two-way radio on his belt then departed with Follows-Chalk right behind him.\n\nVolca watched Joshua leave then turned to Daniel, “What’s the plan when they get back?”\n\n“We evacuate,” Daniel said, “Take the Sorrows and the Dead Bones and leave Hisui, heading east. Once we travel far enough, they’ll have no choice but to leave them alone.”\n\nDee felt a wave of anger from Lloyd and she instinctively clenched her fists, “Why don’t we fight? If the Sorrows and Dead Bones are working together with us we could drive them out of Hisui!”\n\nDaniel shook his head, “That’s what Joshua wants. No, more than that, he wants to wipe them out in revenge for what they did to New Celestica, while I want to make amens for bringing our problems to Hisui and to them. His fire of vengeance is starting to burn. I know he looks strong but underneath those bandages he is burned flesh. He is an embodiment of Arceus’ mercy and all people’s sins made manifest.”\n\n“Excuse me!” Lloyd’s face was scrunched up as he kept his arms folded, his eyes closed and tapped his foot on the ground, “Is there somewhere here I can bathe or wash up?”\n\nDaniel only glanced at the busty Dewott-man then quickly averted his gaze and pointed to where the river flowed from the back of the camp. “The source of the river is that way, a waterfall from where the rest of the river flows. Don’t mind the Gecleon, they’ve been tamed.”\n\nLloyd opened his eyes and glared daggers at Daniel for a moment then turned to Dee and Volca, “Come on, let’s get cleaned up.”\n\nVolca raised a hand and shook her head, “I’ll pass, I’ve had enough water lately.” She turned and headed for one of the caves.\n\n“Sounds good to me,” Dee could tell that Lloyd had other reasons but followed him anyway.\n\nLike Daniel had said there were docile Gecleon along the road. They hissed when the two Poke-people passed but didn’t attack. Lloyd gave them an odd look then another sour face as they passed. At the back of the camp was a deep pool in the ground where a waterfall flowed from the north wall. The sound and angle of approach gave the two of them privacy.\n\n“This should be good,” Lloyd turned back to Dee, who had taken off her backpack and set it next to her on the shore. “So, Dee, you’re an aura master?”\n\nDee looked away for a moment and rubbed the back of her head, “I don’t think I’m a master yet.”\n\n“But you’re close, can you do Bone Rush without Joshua’s bone club?” Lloyd folded his arms but smiled.\n\n“No better time to try.” Dee took a deep breath and held her hands up, forming an Aura Sphere between them. She stared at the swirling energy orb and focused on how it had felt when she used the borrowed bone club, then closed her hands on to grab the Aura Sphere, squeezing and molding it like pretzel dough until it began to stretch outwards. In moments, Dee held a long staff made of transparent blue aura shaped like a femur bone. Dee grinned then spun her new aura-staff around in a whirling motion striking at the air a few times as she executed her first Bone Rush with her own aura.\n\nAfter a minute, Dee let the aura-staff dissipate and Lloyd applauded, “Very good, I’d say you’re just one step away from aura master now. Do you know aura reinforcement techniques?”\n\nDee turned to face him, “You mean like that thing you did before you charged into battle?”\n\nLloyd nodded, “Watch my aura.” He then slapped hands together as his aura whirled around him in bladed form and Dee saw his aura focus around his body, especially in the scalchops attached to his hips. “This is Swords Dance. When I use this technique is sharply increases my physical attack power. That’s how my blows strike with so much force.” He relaxed as the whirling aura vanished, “It only lasts a short time, usually as long as your aura is agitated in the heat of battle. From what I was told a lot of Poke-people consider these techniques a waste of time because it just leaves you open in the middle of a fight, which is true when you do it at the wrong time, but if you can sense danger like you or me then you can take that brief moment before the fight begins to reinforce yourself.”\n\nDee’s eyes lit up, “Can you teach me Swords Dance?”\n\nLloyd nodded as his aura calmed down, “I can, but you should learn a technique that suits your fighting style,” he looked down at the electric burns that still remained from the fight with Toxic Shock Syndrome, “I admit my style leaves me vulnerable. You saw how I focused? Try it yourself but go with the flow instead of trying to force yourself to emulate me.”\n\nDee had indeed seen how he focused and did the same. She could feel how her own aura flowed around her body and in normal circumstances it was all over the place… or balanced as her body maintained itself at what she had trained for. Dee focused her own aura and felt how it could flow. In her mind she could see two paths, on focusing on aura emission and defense against similar attacks and another focused on empowering her muscles and skin against physical strikes.\n\nDee focused on the first and felt her aura flow into her arms and head as her mind calmed. Dee opened her eyes to see what looked like a burning around her arms and flowing around her body. Dee conjured up an Aura Sphere, turned to the side and fired it at the wall of the bathing area which shattered and collapsed in a pile of tiny stones.\n\nLloyd jumped away from the wall, “Whoa! Maybe don’t collapse the place we’re standing in!”\n\nDee laughed, “Sorry, got any special techniques to hit me with, before this wears off.”\n\n“Just this one,” Lloyd faced Dee, “Icy Wind!” he sucked in air the blew a blast cold air at her.\n\nDee shivered as it stung a bit, “Barely felt that, it works!”\n\n“Maybe not the best test,” Lloyd rubbed the back of his head, “I only learned that from Dustin to do piercings.”\n\n“I’ve got one more,” Dee flexed her arms as she felt the boost from Calm Mind fade as she focused her aura through her muscles. She felt her muscles surge slightly and even saw her muscles visibly bulk up and become iron hard. She threw a punch mid-air which made a small burst of wind which hit Lloyd but didn’t affect him. “Hit me, just don’t take off my head.”\n\nLloyd grinned, “Alright, brace yourself!” Water erupted around Lloyd as he charged, “Aqua Jet!” He slammed into Dee which knocked her back but she kept the wind in her as Lloyd bounced off.\n\n“Oof, that hurt but I’ve seen what you can do, so it worked.” Dee relaxed as she felt her muscles go back to normal.\n\n“That’s good,” Lloyd smiled, “I think we can officially declare you an aura master.”\n\nDee smiled back, “Yeah, I feel it like I finally figured something out.” As the thought sunk into Dee’s mind, Lloyd pulled his shorts off then jumped into the middle of the pool.\n\nDee shielded herself from the splash with an arm, “What?”\n\nLloyd resurfaced with a smile, “I wasn’t kidding when I said I needed a bath. A day without a swim just feels so wrong. The trip from my tribe to Hisui was painful because I avoided the river; I never felt so dry in my life. As soon as I saw the rivers here, I jumped in without a second thought.”\n\n“I guess I could use a bath too,” Dee stripped down then walked into the water with Lloyd. “I gotta ask though, why do you shout out the name of your techniques when you use them.”\n\nLloyd grinned, “It makes me sound cool!” Dee just stared, then burst out laughing.\n\nA while later, Dee and Lloyd had scrubbed themselves clean and even helped each other with each other’s backs, no soap or anything but scrubbing off the day’s roughness was always nice. Then they sat up to their breasts in the middle of the pool.\n\nAs they sat, something Dee had been wondering resurfaced in her mind. “Lloyd, what problem do you have with Daniel? I could feel how angry you were at him and I saw how he kept avoiding looking at you.”\n\nLloyd groaned and Dee felt a surge of annoyance, “Not avoiding looking at me, specifically avoiding looking at these,” Lloyd patted his breasts. “He and Joshua aren’t the first New Celesticans I’ve met and they made a bad impression.” He saw Dee wanted him to continue, so he did, “When I was still an Oshawott, one of their missionaries came to visit us. He was surprised we didn’t use Poke-speak, which told me he expected us to be ‘primitive’. He said he was there to help us get closer to Arceus and learn practical skills, but then he got high and mighty and started telling everyone to cover up their breasts,” Lloyd squeezed his tits together, “because it was ‘indecent for women to constantly expose themselves’. That pissed everyone off and my mom walked up to him and said… something, I couldn’t hear, then dropped her shorts and said ‘is this too indecent for you!’ and he freaked out and ran away. And yeah, she was my ‘fathermom’ so I guess he freaked out when he saw a woman with a penis,” Lloyd gave a short laugh.\n\n“And you think Daniel’s like that too?” Dee looked down at her own chest, wondering if her being so well endowed might have elicited a similar reaction.\n\n“He refused to look right at me or Dustin,” Lloyd leaned back to float on the water’s surface, “I didn’t need aura to see how uncomfortable he was, and he wants to force the Sorrows to leave their lands, to give up their way of life.” Lloyd floated upright and held up his right hand “You saw the gloves the Sorrows wore right?”\n\nDee nodded, “Couldn’t miss them, I could see their aura flow through those weapons.”\n\n“They’re made from the forearm and claws of an Ursa-guai,” Lloyd lowered his hand, “Tribes out here are known for their signature weapons and rites of passage, sometimes the two are integrated. The River Mothers’ rites of passage are: learning to swim in rapids, catching fish and learning to use aura to heal and help maintain mammary glands, a technique we call ‘Mother’s Gift’,” Lloyd’s hands glowed blue for a moment and he touched his breasts which absorbed the blue aura and perked up slightly, “And after what happened with the Aqua Merchants: learning to fight. For the Pierced Shadows it’s learning how to make piercings and they mark accomplishments by getting a new piercing. I saw how the Sorrows’ aura flows through their Ursa-guai gloves, I can tell that one of their rites of passage is hunting an Ursa-guai on their own so they can make a personal glove. I’ve never seen nor heard of Ursa-guai anywhere but Hisui which means that part of the Sorrows’ culture will be forced out of them if they flee.” Lloyd raised a fist and struck the surface of the water, “Daniel’s just going to take their tradition from them ‘for their own good’!”\n\nDee recoiled as she saw Lloyd’s aura become agitated and did her best to change the subject, “Can you teach me Mother’s Gift,” Dee squished her breasts, “I want to keep mine healthy.”\n\nLloyd calmed down and smirked, “Of course, we kinda need to know this to keep them from sagging. Should be easy for an aura master, just focus like you do for healing pulse but concentrate on your breasts when you touch them.” Dee watching as Lloyd did so again and easily picked up how to do it. “Just to let you know, doing that a lot will make you start lactating. I actually learned before I evolved to help give our tribe enough wet nurses for the baby boom that happened before I evolved.”\n\nDee giggled, “I’ll keep that in mind.”\n\nIt was just after noon when the two finished their bathing, redressed and returned to the main Sorrows camp. Before they could sit down for lunch, one of the human members of the Sorrows ran up to them and shouted, “Hurry! Mate laying egg!” and pointed with his Ursa-guai gloved hand towards the cave where Waking Cloud had taken Dustin.\n\nLloyd immediately turned and ran to the cave, “Dustin!” he shouted.\n\nDee just stared after him until he vanished inside the cave, then spotted Daniel around a roasting Gecleon and joined him for lunch.\n\n“Hello, Daniel,” Dee sat next to the Hisuian Typhlosion-man, “May I?”\n\n“Of course,” he gestured to the food before he took a bite of his own Gecleon steak.\n\nDee swallowed then asked, “Do the Sorrows really need to flee. We could stand and fight instead of giving up Hisui to Toxic Shock Syndrome.”\n\nDaniel sighed as if he’d had this conversation many times before, “Because there’s no need to die over land, and you don’t know how dangerous Toxic Shock Syndrome is, or their chief Salt-Upon-Wounds.”\n\nDee could see the sorrow pouring from him and hazarded a guess, “Is it because of what they did to New Celestica?”\n\nDaniel stared at the first, “We were complacent. They came in the night in droves, descended on New Celestica. They used their lightning to set everything on fire, blew poison on children in their sleep and smashed eggs underneath their mothers. Finally, Salt-Upon-Wounds ordered them to poison the land so nothing could grow there ever again.” Daniel shook from grief and wiped tears from his eyes but managed to keep his voice level, “Now, there’s barely 30 of us left, scattered around this area trying to hide from Toxic Shock Syndrome.”\n\nDee just stared at Daniel as echoes of her own past flashed through her mind. “Only Thirty? I’m sorry, Daniel…”\n\nDaniel still stared at the campfire, “I’ll hold onto the memories and teachings of New Celestica for the rest of my life. The history we learned from when we hatched, the religious teachings, it was an experience most will never know. I wanted to teach our children, show them the light of Arceus as they grew up, but now I don’t know if there will ever be any New Celestican children anymore.” Daniel took a deep breath and sighed sadly before he pulled out his book again, “Excuse me, I need to calm myself.”\n\nOoOoO\n\nLloyd practically burst into the cave where Dustin was laid down on a Ursa-guai. The Obstagoon-man’s shorts were off and his legs were spread. Waking Cloud had removed her Ursa-guai gauntlet and was having some trouble navigating around Dustin’s nethers, trying to keep his male parts up and away from his dilated vagina.\n\nLloyd crouched by his mate’s side, “I’m here, Dusty, what can I do?”\n\n“Take my hand, hnnnnng!” Dustin winced as a contraction hit and grabbed for Lloyd’s hand.\n\nLloyd winced as his hand was squeezed then turned to Waking Cloud, “How is he?”\n\nSeeing a man giving birth, and a Poke-person to boot, was a new experience for Waking Cloud but she called on her midwife knowledge instead of dwelling on the oddness, “I think he’s ready, been like this for a while. Only sent when I thought it was time. Dustin, you can push when you feel the birth pains now.”\n\n“Finally, AAAAAUGH!” Dustin felt the contraction and pushed for all he was worth. Lloyd grit his own teeth against the pressure on his hand but said nothing. Waking Cloud watched the tip of an egg emerged from Daniel. Another contraction, more shouting and pushing and the blue splotched egg slid out all the way.\n\nWaking Cloud caught the egg and carefully cleaned it before she set it in a basket, “That was shorter than any birth I’ve had or aided.”\n\n“Not done!” Dustin panted, “Feel another!”\n\n“I knew there were two in there. Just be strong, Dusty!” Lloyd gripped Dustin’s hand only to receive a bone crushing grip back.\n\n“Am strong, with you Love, GRAAAAAH!” Another contraction and Dustin pushed again, birth fluid spraying out as he did so but no egg tip emerged. The second egg took a lot more effort than the first, two more contractions went by before the tip emerged, this one with black splotches. Despite how exhausted he was, Dustin powered on through, pushing through four more contractions before he finally, mercifully, forced the second egg out by pushing even after the contraction was finished.\n\nDustin panted as he watched Waking Cloud clean the second egg then present the basket to the couple. “Dee was right, not as messy as live birth but similar enough.”\n\nLloyd smiled, “Thanks, Waking Cloud.” Then he turned to Dustin, “Look, two beautiful eggs and they’re ours.”\n\nDustin panted but managed a weak smiled as he carefully reached his free hand over to touch them, “Yeah, can’t believe those were in me. Now just need to sleep.”\n\nLloyd let go of Dustin’s hand as the intersex Obstagoon-man let himself pass out. “I’ll keep them warm,” Lloyd picked up the basket and held the two eggs close, “I can’t wait to introduce you to your grandmas.”",

The Sorrows were in the process of removing the dried meat and tanned leather. Lloyd glared around the camp but said nothing as the woman who had greeted them led them through the camp.<br /><br />They were led to a campfire surrounded by wooden shelters with Ursa-guai hide beds. He was reading a black book with the golden symbol of Arceus on the cover.<br /><br />He looked up at the approaching group and the human Sorrows woman nodded, &ldquo;Daniel, these are the people from the Dead Bones.&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel smiled and closed the book, &ldquo; Thanks, Waking Cloud.&rdquo; He turned to look at the arrivals, then blinked at seeing Lloyd and Dustin with their exposed breasts and focused his attention on Dee, who was in the lead, &ldquo; The Dead Bones told me about the attack on your caravan. A stranger&rsquo;s sympathy might not count for much, but for what it&rsquo;s worth, I&rsquo;m sorry.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee nodded, &ldquo; Thanks, and it does. Here,&rdquo; she set the two survival packs down in front of Daniel, &ldquo; These are the supplies Joshua asked us to find.&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel put his book away then got up to check the packs, then smiled when he saw the contents. &ldquo;Thank you, these will be a great help. I&rsquo;m not surprised the pre-war buildings still have intact supplies. I guess I should introduce myself: my name is Daniel of New Celestica.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee touched her chest, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m Dee, not from a tribe. I grew up in Vault 18 west in NKR.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m La&hellip;&rdquo; the Blaziken-woman paused, cleared her throat, then continued, &ldquo;Volca of the Moltres&rsquo; Embers&hellip;&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd dropped the sacks he had brought, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m Lloyd of the River Mothers and this is my mate,&rdquo; he took Dustin&rsquo;s hand.<br /><br />Dustin put his other hand on his pregnant belly, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m Dustin, exiled from the Pierced Shadows.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Follows-Chalk of the Dead Bones,&rdquo; the Sandshrew-man introduced himself.<br /><br />Daniel nodded to each of them in turn, &ldquo;Thank you.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Excuse me,&rdquo; Lloyd&rsquo;s harsh voice cut into the conversation, &ldquo; But Dustin&rsquo;s close to laying our eggs. Can anyone here help him?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I can. My name is Waking Cloud, I am midwife of the Sorrows. It sounds kind of grim, &lsquo;Midwife to Sorrows&rsquo;.&rdquo; The human woman looked Dustin up and down with some confusion, &ldquo;Forgive me, I&rsquo;m not familiar with egg-laying.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee turned to Waking Cloud, &ldquo;I watched a friend lay an egg once and they were up and walking after a good night&rsquo;s sleep. She even told me she helped with live births before and said that egg-laying&rsquo;s similar but not nearly as difficult.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Very well,&rdquo; Waking Cloud offered a hand to Dustin, which he accepted, &ldquo;Come with me, Miss Dustin.&rdquo;<br /><br />The Obstagoon-man bristled but walked with her, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m a man, don&rsquo;t call me miss.&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd watched her go then turned back to Daniel.<br /><br />Volca regarded Daniel with interest for a moment then said, &ldquo; You don&rsquo;t look like the Typhlosion in my tribe.&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel put his book away then stood up, &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know why exactly but I&rsquo;m a ghost-type as well as fire, but like Joshua I&rsquo;m not dead.&rdquo; Daniel let his shoulder fire ignite which was only partly red but mostly brilliant purple that waved back and forth instead of roaring like typical fire with three similar orbs of fire appearing on the purple spots of his neck; Volca couldn&rsquo;t help but stare in awe.<br /><br />&ldquo;Daniel!&rdquo; A voice from a Sorrows man drew their attention as he came running up, &ldquo;Joshua Graham is here and the Dead Bones are camped outside.&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel nodded, &ldquo;I expected as such. Here take this, I showed you how to use these,&rdquo; the Hisuian Typhlosion-man handed one of the survival kits to the Sorrows tribal and some of the burlap sacks that Lloyd had brought, &ldquo;See if you can pack the preserved food for travel and make sure everyone knows how to use the first-aid like I showed you.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I will. Thank you, Daniel.&rdquo; The Sorrows tribal man walked off towards a cave in the canyon walls that surrounded them.<br /><br />They all turned to see Joshua as he approached. The Marowak-man&rsquo;s presence made everyone grow tense, even Dee couldn&rsquo;t help but feel a bit nervous at the aura he exuded. When Lloyd turned to face him, the busty Dewott-man only tensed for a moment but he seemed calmer than when he spoke to Daniel.<br /><br />Joshua looked at Lloyd for a moment before he turned to Dee and Volca, &ldquo; It seems you&rsquo;ve met some new friends and allies. Good. The Toxic Shocks won&rsquo;t leave anyone behind, best that we gather in one place for now. Daniel,&rdquo; he turned to his fellow New Celestican.<br /><br />&ldquo;Joshua,&rdquo; Daniel seemed nervous but didn&rsquo;t back down, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m surprised you decided to break camp already.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Toxic Shock Syndrome has begun their preparations, best that we do the same before they get too much advantage,&rdquo; Joshua looked at the survival pack by Daniel&rsquo;s feet, &ldquo;I see the supplies have been gathered. Do the radios work?&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel crouched by the pack and opened it to retrieve the radios, &ldquo;Looks like the batteries survived all this time. They really made these things to last in the final days.&rdquo; He handed one to Joshua then took several steps back and whispered into the other radio, &ldquo;testing, testing. Can you hear me?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I can,&rdquo; Joshua spoke into the radio, &ldquo;Good. We can coordinate our preparations.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;To fight or to flee?&rdquo; Lloyd folded his arms under his breasts as he faced Joshua, his voice turning serious.<br /><br />Joshua lowered the radio as Daniel returned, &ldquo;Regardless of our plans we need to disrupt the Toxic Shocks or we&rsquo;ll have too many obstacles to deal with.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Joshua&rsquo;s right,&rdquo; Daniel attached the radio to his belt. &ldquo;Toxic Shock Syndrome is probably setting up traps and camps, not to mention the Ursa-guai cave nearby, they&rsquo;ll get riled up once we get moving. We also need a map of land to the east so we can navigate. The Toxic Shocks won&rsquo;t be able to follow us: they can&rsquo;t live off the land, even basic hunting and gathering are beyond them, they won&rsquo;t survive another generation unless they join the Kogun.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Alright,&rdquo; Dee pumped her fists, &ldquo;Where do we need to go?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;You&rsquo;ve done enough for us now,&rdquo; Joshua interjected, &ldquo; You should rest and prepare for tomorrow. The Dead Bones will handle Toxic Shock Syndrome and I will personally retrieve a map from one of the caves.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee lowered her arms, &ldquo;OK, we will. And thanks for lending me your club,&rdquo; Dee pulled Joshua&rsquo;s bone club from behind her back and handed it to the bandaged Marowak-man, &ldquo;I think I know enough to make my own now.&rdquo;<br /><br />Joshua accepted the weapon back, the tips igniting into blue fire for a moment as he grasped it, &ldquo; You will, I can tell. But I must be going. Arceus is with us but we must meet them halfway if we are to succeed. I&rsquo;ll keep in contact, Daniel.&rdquo; He stuck the two-way radio on his belt then departed with Follows-Chalk right behind him.<br /><br />Volca watched Joshua leave then turned to Daniel, &ldquo; What&rsquo;s the plan when they get back?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;We evacuate,&rdquo; Daniel said, &ldquo;Take the Sorrows and the Dead Bones and leave Hisui, heading east. Once we travel far enough, they&rsquo;ll have no choice but to leave them alone.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee felt a wave of anger from Lloyd and she instinctively clenched her fists, &ldquo; Why don&rsquo;t we fight? If the Sorrows and Dead Bones are working together with us we could drive them out of Hisui!&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel shook his head, &ldquo; That&rsquo;s what Joshua wants. No, more than that, he wants to wipe them out in revenge for what they did to New Celestica, while I want to make amens for bringing our problems to Hisui and to them. His fire of vengeance is starting to burn. I know he looks strong but underneath those bandages he is burned flesh. He is an embodiment of Arceus&rsquo; mercy and all people&rsquo;s sins made manifest.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Excuse me!&rdquo; Lloyd&rsquo;s face was scrunched up as he kept his arms folded, his eyes closed and tapped his foot on the ground, &ldquo; Is there somewhere here I can bathe or wash up?&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel only glanced at the busty Dewott-man then quickly averted his gaze and pointed to where the river flowed from the back of the camp. &ldquo; The source of the river is that way, a waterfall from where the rest of the river flows. Don&rsquo;t mind the Gecleon, they&rsquo;ve been tamed.&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd opened his eyes and glared daggers at Daniel for a moment then turned to Dee and Volca, &ldquo;Come on, let&rsquo;s get cleaned up.&rdquo;<br /><br />Volca raised a hand and shook her head, &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll pass, I&rsquo;ve had enough water lately.&rdquo; She turned and headed for one of the caves.<br /><br />&ldquo;Sounds good to me,&rdquo; Dee could tell that Lloyd had other reasons but followed him anyway.<br /><br />Like Daniel had said there were docile Gecleon along the road. They hissed when the two Poke-people passed but didn&rsquo;t attack. Lloyd gave them an odd look then another sour face as they passed. At the back of the camp was a deep pool in the ground where a waterfall flowed from the north wall. The sound and angle of approach gave the two of them privacy.<br /><br />&ldquo;This should be good,&rdquo; Lloyd turned back to Dee, who had taken off her backpack and set it next to her on the shore. &ldquo; So, Dee, you&rsquo;re an aura master?&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee looked away for a moment and rubbed the back of her head, &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t think I&rsquo;m a master yet.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;But you&rsquo;re close, can you do Bone Rush without Joshua&rsquo;s bone club?&rdquo; Lloyd folded his arms but smiled.<br /><br />&ldquo;No better time to try.&rdquo; Dee took a deep breath and held her hands up, forming an Aura Sphere between them. Dee grinned then spun her new aura-staff around in a whirling motion striking at the air a few times as she executed her first Bone Rush with her own aura.<br /><br />After a minute, Dee let the aura-staff dissipate and Lloyd applauded, &ldquo;Very good, I&rsquo;d say you&rsquo;re just one step away from aura master now. Do you know aura reinforcement techniques?&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee turned to face him, &ldquo; You mean like that thing you did before you charged into battle?&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd nodded, &ldquo;Watch my aura.&rdquo; He then slapped hands together as his aura whirled around him in bladed form and Dee saw his aura focus around his body, especially in the scalchops attached to his hips. &ldquo; This is Swords Dance. When I use this technique is sharply increases my physical attack power. That&rsquo;s how my blows strike with so much force.&rdquo; He relaxed as the whirling aura vanished, &ldquo; It only lasts a short time, usually as long as your aura is agitated in the heat of battle. From what I was told a lot of Poke-people consider these techniques a waste of time because it just leaves you open in the middle of a fight, which is true when you do it at the wrong time, but if you can sense danger like you or me then you can take that brief moment before the fight begins to reinforce yourself.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee&rsquo;s eyes lit up, &ldquo; Can you teach me Swords Dance?&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd nodded as his aura calmed down, &ldquo;I can, but you should learn a technique that suits your fighting style,&rdquo; he looked down at the electric burns that still remained from the fight with Toxic Shock Syndrome, &ldquo;I admit my style leaves me vulnerable. You saw how I focused? Try it yourself but go with the flow instead of trying to force yourself to emulate me.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee had indeed seen how he focused and did the same. She could feel how her own aura flowed around her body and in normal circumstances it was all over the place&hellip; or balanced as her body maintained itself at what she had trained for. Dee focused her own aura and felt how it could flow. In her mind she could see two paths, on focusing on aura emission and defense against similar attacks and another focused on empowering her muscles and skin against physical strikes.<br /><br />Dee focused on the first and felt her aura flow into her arms and head as her mind calmed. Dee opened her eyes to see what looked like a burning around her arms and flowing around her body. Dee conjured up an Aura Sphere, turned to the side and fired it at the wall of the bathing area which shattered and collapsed in a pile of tiny stones.<br /><br />Lloyd jumped away from the wall, &ldquo;Whoa! Maybe don&rsquo;t collapse the place we&rsquo;re standing in!&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee laughed, &ldquo;Sorry, got any special techniques to hit me with, before this wears off.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Just this one,&rdquo; Lloyd faced Dee, &ldquo;Icy Wind!&rdquo; he sucked in air the blew a blast cold air at her.<br /><br />Dee shivered as it stung a bit, &ldquo;Barely felt that, it works!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe not the best test,&rdquo; Lloyd rubbed the back of his head, &ldquo;I only learned that from Dustin to do piercings.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ve got one more,&rdquo; Dee flexed her arms as she felt the boost from Calm Mind fade as she focused her aura through her muscles. She felt her muscles surge slightly and even saw her muscles visibly bulk up and become iron hard. She threw a punch mid-air which made a small burst of wind which hit Lloyd but didn&rsquo;t affect him. &ldquo;Hit me, just don&rsquo;t take off my head.&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd grinned, &ldquo;Alright, brace yourself!&rdquo; Water erupted around Lloyd as he charged, &ldquo;Aqua Jet!&rdquo; He slammed into Dee which knocked her back but she kept the wind in her as Lloyd bounced off.<br /><br />&ldquo;Oof, that hurt but I&rsquo;ve seen what you can do, so it worked.&rdquo; Dee relaxed as she felt her muscles go back to normal.<br /><br />&ldquo;That&rsquo;s good,&rdquo; Lloyd smiled, &ldquo;I think we can officially declare you an aura master.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee smiled back, &ldquo;Yeah, I feel it like I finally figured something out.&rdquo; As the thought sunk into Dee&rsquo;s mind, Lloyd pulled his shorts off then jumped into the middle of the pool.<br /><br />Dee shielded herself from the splash with an arm, &ldquo; What?&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd resurfaced with a smile, &ldquo;I wasn&rsquo;t kidding when I said I needed a bath. Mate laying egg!&rdquo; and pointed with his Ursa-guai gloved hand towards the cave where Waking Cloud had taken Dustin.<br /><br />Lloyd immediately turned and ran to the cave, &ldquo;Dustin!&rdquo; he shouted.<br /><br />Dee just stared after him until he vanished inside the cave, then spotted Daniel around a roasting Gecleon and joined him for lunch.<br /><br />&ldquo;Hello, Daniel,&rdquo; Dee sat next to the Hisuian Typhlosion-man, &ldquo;May I?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Of course,&rdquo; he gestured to the food before he took a bite of his own Gecleon steak.<br /><br />Dee swallowed then asked, &ldquo;Do the Sorrows really need to flee. We could stand and fight instead of giving up Hisui to Toxic Shock Syndrome.&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel sighed as if he&rsquo;d had this conversation many times before, &ldquo;Because there&rsquo;s no need to die over land, and you don&rsquo;t know how dangerous Toxic Shock Syndrome is, or their chief Salt-Upon-Wounds.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee could see the sorrow pouring from him and hazarded a guess, &ldquo; Is it because of what they did to New Celestica?&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel stared at the first, &ldquo; We were complacent. They came in the night in droves, descended on New Celestica. They used their lightning to set everything on fire, blew poison on children in their sleep and smashed eggs underneath their mothers. Finally, Salt-Upon-Wounds ordered them to poison the land so nothing could grow there ever again.&rdquo; Daniel shook from grief and wiped tears from his eyes but managed to keep his voice level, &ldquo; Now, there&rsquo;s barely 30 of us left, scattered around this area trying to hide from Toxic Shock Syndrome.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dee just stared at Daniel as echoes of her own past flashed through her mind. &ldquo;Only Thirty? I&rsquo;m sorry, Daniel&hellip;&rdquo;<br /><br />Daniel still stared at the campfire, &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll hold onto the memories and teachings of New Celestica for the rest of my life. The history we learned from when we hatched, the religious teachings, it was an experience most will never know. I wanted to teach our children, show them the light of Arceus as they grew up, but now I don&rsquo;t know if there will ever be any New Celestican children anymore.&rdquo; Daniel took a deep breath and sighed sadly before he pulled out his book again, &ldquo;Excuse me, I need to calm myself.&rdquo;<br /><br />OoOoO<br /><br />Lloyd practically burst into the cave where Dustin was laid down on a Ursa-guai. The Obstagoon-man&rsquo;s shorts were off and his legs were spread. Waking Cloud had removed her Ursa-guai gauntlet and was having some trouble navigating around Dustin&rsquo;s nethers, trying to keep his male parts up and away from his dilated vagina.<br /><br />Lloyd crouched by his mate&rsquo;s side, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m here, Dusty, what can I do?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Take my hand, hnnnnng!&rdquo; Dustin winced as a contraction hit and grabbed for Lloyd&rsquo;s hand.<br /><br />Lloyd winced as his hand was squeezed then turned to Waking Cloud, &ldquo; How is he?&rdquo;<br /><br />Seeing a man giving birth, and a Poke-person to boot, was a new experience for Waking Cloud but she called on her midwife knowledge instead of dwelling on the oddness, &ldquo;I think he&rsquo;s ready, been like this for a while. Only sent when I thought it was time. Dustin, you can push when you feel the birth pains now.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Finally, AAAAAUGH!&rdquo; Dustin felt the contraction and pushed for all he was worth. Lloyd grit his own teeth against the pressure on his hand but said nothing. Waking Cloud watched the tip of an egg emerged from Daniel. Another contraction, more shouting and pushing and the blue splotched egg slid out all the way.<br /><br />Waking Cloud caught the egg and carefully cleaned it before she set it in a basket, &ldquo; That was shorter than any birth I&rsquo;ve had or aided.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Not done!&rdquo; Dustin panted, &ldquo;Feel another!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I knew there were two in there. Just be strong, Dusty!&rdquo; Lloyd gripped Dustin&rsquo;s hand only to receive a bone crushing grip back.<br /><br />&ldquo;Am strong, with you Love, GRAAAAAH!&rdquo; Another contraction and Dustin pushed again, birth fluid spraying out as he did so but no egg tip emerged. The second egg took a lot more effort than the first, two more contractions went by before the tip emerged, this one with black splotches. Despite how exhausted he was, Dustin powered on through, pushing through four more contractions before he finally, mercifully, forced the second egg out by pushing even after the contraction was finished.<br /><br />Dustin panted as he watched Waking Cloud clean the second egg then present the basket to the couple. &ldquo;Dee was right, not as messy as live birth but similar enough.&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd smiled, &ldquo; Thanks, Waking Cloud.&rdquo; Then he turned to Dustin, &ldquo;Look, two beautiful eggs and they&rsquo;re ours.&rdquo;<br /><br />Dustin panted but managed a weak smiled as he carefully reached his free hand over to touch them, &ldquo;Yeah, can&rsquo;t believe those were in me. Now just need to sleep.&rdquo;<br /><br />Lloyd let go of Dustin&rsquo;s hand as the intersex Obstagoon-man let himself pass out. &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll keep them warm,&rdquo; Lloyd picked up the basket and held the two eggs close, &ldquo;I can&rsquo;t wait to introduce you to your grandmas.&rdquo;</span>",
