Everyone rushes to escape For Daggerpoint", "writing": "[center][u]Chapter 15[/u][/center]\n\nDee burst back onto the onramp and ran around the metal crates, panic lending her speed. She saw everyone emerge from the armory, backpacks and arms laden with their loot and she shouted, “RUN!”\n\nEveryone turned to see the panicking Lucario-woman and as she turned towards the entrance and shouted, “MEWTWO! MONSTERS! RUN!” They had no time to question her and took off after her as the sound of her pursuers came up the ramp.\n\nFrank put on a burst of speed and dropped the guns he was holding, “He said they’d let us go!” he panted as he passed Zade.\n\nThe grinding of metal to their sides announced that the Vault doors they had passed were opening, the horrible cries of more deformed monsters emerged to try and cut them off.\n\nCaptain Jameson slowed down as the deformed things emerged, “Keep moving, I’ll catch up!” No one disobeyed and Jameson crossed his arms in front of his face as he slowed to a stop and sparks jumped off his fur. Right before the things could reach him he unleashed a Discharge of lightning that fried as many of them as he could before he turned and sprinted back to join his squad even as Mewtwo began to catch up from behind.\n\nThe trench of ruined cars was their biggest obstacle. Because she wasn’t carrying extra cargo, Dee helped boost everyone across the uneven terrain before she jumped up to follow them.\n\nThe Lycanroc siblings were startled as Zade shouted, “LOAD UP, FAST!” and he started cramming the firearms he was carrying into the Pack Tauros’ bags.\n\nIt took a little too long for the Tauros to get loaded and they heard shouts coming from the trench as Mewtwo and monstrosities clambered or hovered over the wreckage and the Lycanroc pushed the Tauros to flee as lasers started to fire off.\n\nAlisson screamed as she was shot in the leg and felt it burn away, falling onto her front. She rolled over and fired at the monsters, downing two before they were on her, crushing her with blunt weapons in a maddened frenzy.\n\nJoel the Midday Lycanroc-man looked back in time to see what looked like a human with cables for arms swing at him. He spun around and shot it in the face only for it’s heavy rebar club to fall and smash into his torso.\n\n“Joel!” Jamie his Dusk sibling called out, almost slowing.\n\n“Run!” both Joel and their Midnight sister Dew called out, with Dew grabbing Jamie’s shoulder and pulling them along.\n\nJoel pushed the huge club off him as the creatures and Mewtwo got closer, laser shots firing out and striking around him. “I’ll keep them safe,” he pulled all the pins on his grenade belt. They all exploded right as he was about to be descended upon.\n\nJoel’s sacrifice bought them the time they needed to escape. Jamie and Dew drove the Tauros hard past the gate and through the city as the sounds of their pursuers were hot on their tails. They drove on through the evening until the sounds of pursuit were far behind them.\n\nEveryone was panting as they finally came to a stop, Jamie and Dew continued to run after the Tauros and eventually managed to slow them down and turn them back to the group. Dee was shaking, her mind racing as Helios put a comforting arm around her.\n\n“AHHH!” every turned to the shout and saw Sergeant Frank the Furret-man on the ground, he and Lieutenant Zade were illuminated by the electricity sparking off the Jolteon-man’s fur as he stepped on Joel’s chest and drew his sidearm.\n\n“Alright, Frank, what the fuck do you know about this!?” Zade aimed the handgun at Frank’s head, growling and sparking in rage.\n\n“Lieutenant, what’s going on?” Captain Jameson approached the two.\n\nZade looked up at Jameson and did his best to keep his voice level despite his rage, “I heard him say ‘He said they’d let us go’ when we were running,” he whipped his head back to where Frank lay under his foot, too scared to even try and move, “So tell us, Frank, unless you want your face full of extra nostrils!”\n\nFrank looked to Captain Jameson for support, but the Manectric-man’s face was hardened even if it was impossible to match Lieutenant Zade’s rage and rattled off his answer extremely fast. “Senator told me the Mewtwo would let us raid the armory in peace if we gave them the girl from the Vault!”\n\nDee’s head shot up and she stared at Frank in horror, “You sent me to them!?”\n\n“You sent her into a trap!?” Helios snorted smoke out of his nostrils and was about to advance on the three, when Melany put out an arm and shook her head.\n\nJamie stomped over and growled, “My brother’s dead because of you! You sold us out!” They held out their hand as their claws glowed.\n\n“Calm down! That’s an order!” Captain Jameson’s voice silenced everyone. They could hear Mary sniffing as she sat down but let her be.\n\nZade holstered his sidearm and took his foot off the Furret-man’s chest. Frank sighed in relief and stood up, only to be grabbed around his collar by Zade who growled right in his face.\n\n“Listen you backstabber, I’m not going back to my family in a body bag because someone decided to sell us out to a fat cat senator who sees our lives as worthless! Tell us everything you know or we’re leaving you behind and buried in a shallow grave!” his whole body sparked.\n\n“That’s enough, Lieutenant,” Captain Jameson glared at Frank who withered, “You’ll be facing a court-martial and likely prison sentence when we get back but you can make it easier on yourself if you tell us everything Senator DuVille is planning. Zade, strip his of all his gear except his clothes and we’ll take him back with us.”\n\n“Don’t even think about running,” the sound of Melany’s plasma rifle powering up drew their attention as she aimed at the Furret-man.\n\nZade immediately set out stripping Frank down to nothing and searching his body and clothes for all his gear, even fishing some spare pistol clips the Furret-man had hidden in his tail. “Nice try,” Zade whispered in his head, “But my boyfriend’s hidden stuff way better than this.” He finished and tossed everything on the ground the tripped Frank on his face, “All done, Captain.”\n\n“Good,” Jameson looked to where Melany and GR-0-WL were still watching Frank, “GR-0-WL can you please keep an eye on Frank until we get back to the city, if he tries to run then drag him back but try not to break his legs or we’ll have to carry him back.”\n\n“I will,” GR-0-WL barked. Melany pet the robo-Growlithe and powered her rifle down.\n\n“Now then, let’s take stock of what we gathered,” Captain Jameson walked over to the Tauros as Jamie and Dew were feeding the Pokemon to keep them calm.\n\n“Are you serious!?” Mary looked up from where she had been crying, “I just lost my best friend from when we were kids! How can you be thinking about our mission?!”\n\n“So her death wasn’t in vain,” Jameson kept his voice level but looked sympathetically at Mary as he walked over to the Raticate-woman, “Allison was a good soldier but we need to make sure this sort of thing doesn’t happen again. Just help us take stock of things, alright Sergeant?”\n\nMary sniffed then accepted the hand her captain offered to help her stand, “Yes, Sir,” and joined him in emptying everyone’s backpacks into the Tauros’ bags and counting everything they had.\n\n“Why did they want you?” Helios had returned to Dee’s side where she sat on the ground.\n\nDee touched her chest between her stomach and breasts, “They said they wanted something inside me.”\n\n“Maybe it’s what’s making you heal so fast may I see your injuries?” Gertrude had joined them. Dee nodded and removed her shirt so Gertrude could examine her, “You’ve healed, just like I thought. I’m sorry I didn’t give you a stimpack but I wanted to see if you were still healing fast.” She turned to Helios who gave her a harsh glare back for a moment, “Helios’ wounds are healing at the normal rate for a Poke-person but you’re still regenerating at an incredible rate. I don’t want to test how far it goes, but we know you can regrow a severed aura-dread.” Gertrude sighed and sat next to Dee, “I wish I had more sophisticated equipment to check out here, like when I was with The Followers, but so far 90% of the population is military. Even the other doctors there have to make do with whatever we can scrounge up or get supplied.”\n\n“Whatever they want, we won’t let them get it,” Melany joined them while she kept an eye on Frank as the rest of the squad checked their loot.\n\n“Might as well get supper,” Helios dug ration bars out of his pack and passed them to the other three.\n\nIt was completely dark out when Jameson gathered everyone at the center of camp, even Frank who was dragged there so they could keep an eye on him.\n\n“Alright people, this was a rough day but at least we gathered more than enough ordinance to cover what we spent, though nothing can replace the comrades we lost in action, Sergeants Alisson and Joel will be missed but we need to get back to Trovitopolis with our haul as soon as possible.” He turned to Frank who wilted under his stare and shivered in the cold night air without clothes, “If you tell us what the Senator is planning we’ll give you back your fatigues so you don’t risk freezing overnight.”\n\nFrank gulped as he felt the murderous stares boring into him, “Senator DuVille wants us to deliver the ordinance to him so he can kill General Silverman and take control of the military, he didn’t tell me anything else just that we had to deliver Dee to the Mewtwo.”\n\n“He threatened us with the same thing,” Melany spoke up, “Gertrude found out without him knowing and told the General. Sorry we didn’t say something earlier but I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t let that slip,” she glared at Frank.\n\n“That’s fine, we know now and now we need to plan,” Zade reluctantly gave Frank his clothes.\n\nCaptain Jameson nodded, “Exactly. If Senator DuVille is planning a coup then he could be putting things into motion even as we speak. We need to get back to the city as soon as possible.”\n\n“But if we drive the Tauros hard for that long they’ll die,” Jamie spoke up.\n\n“That’s right, so we’re splitting up,” Jameson turned to Dee, Helios, Melany and Gertude, “I’d like you four to accompany Lieutenant Zade on a forced march back to Trovitopolis. GR-0-WL, I’d like you to stay here and keep an eye on Frank so he doesn’t slip away in the night. The rest of us will take the Tauros on a less obvious route back to the city so we don’t attract any extra attention.”\n\nMelany turned to GR-0-WL, “You ok with being here without us?”\n\nGR-0-WL nodded, “I’ll keep Frank here,” it turned to the now clothed Furret-man.\n\n“I’ll get back there, Captain,” Zade saluted, “GR-0-WL, keep an eye on Frank and if he tries to run, drag him back here. Don’t break his leg or they’ll have to drag him the whole way back.”\n\n“Wait a sec,” Lauren stood up and counted everyone, “Where’s Annai?” Everyone looked around and only just realized that the human wasn’t with them.\n\nDee focused through her eyes as her aura-dreads rose, trying to sense the human’s aura, but felt nothing. “She helped me escape the Mewtwo but after that she just vanished. Either they got her.”\n\n“Or she stayed behind because she found what she was looking for,” Melany looked grim.\n\nGertrude sighed sadly, “Nothing we can do about it tonight. Just get some sleep.”\n\n“I’m not sleeping near the man who got my brother killed,” Dew picked up her stuff and moved several meters away. Everyone but GR-0-WL followed suit and left Frank alone with the sleepless robo-Growlithe.\n\nThey were awakened to barking and shouting in the night. They were too sleepy to force themselves up. A few minutes later GR-0-WL loped back into camp, a length of fabric clutched in its teeth.\n\nMelany was the first up and at his side, “GR-0-WL what happened?”\n\nGR-0-WL dropped the piece off frabric, which was half of a pant-leg, and hung its head “I’m sorry, Frank got away. He just suddenly ran off and I tried to drag him back but I missed his leg and just ripped his pant leg off.”\n\nMelany stroked the robo-Growlithe’s head, “It’s alright, we’ve been putting too much on you.”\n\nCaptain Jameson lay back down, “She’s right, and sorry to say it doesn’t change anything. Did he grab anything before he ran?”\n\n“No, he was just in his clothing,” GR-0-WL said.\n\n“Then he’ll likely die out there without supplies, and even if he doesn’t we won’t be able to catch up to him tonight,” Captain Jameson rolled over, “Go back to sleep then tomorrow we’ll continue with the original plans, except GR-0-WL should return with you just in case.”\n\nThey all reluctantly lay back down to sleep. Despite Melany’s insistence GR-0-WL remained on watch that night.\n\nThe next morning, Dee, Helios, Melany, Gertrude, GR-0-WL and Zade set off at a hustle back to the city while the others prepped the Tauros for the long march back in their wake.\n", "writing_bbcode_parsed": "

“That’s enough, Lieutenant,” Captain Jameson glared at Frank who withered, “You’ll be facing a court-martial and likely prison sentence when we get back but you can make it easier on yourself if you tell us everything Senator DuVille is planning. Zade, strip his of all his gear except his clothes and we’ll take him back with us.”

“Don’t even think about running,” the sound of Melany’s plasma rifle powering up drew their attention as she aimed at the Furret-man.

Zade immediately set out stripping Frank down to nothing and searching his body and clothes for all his gear, even fishing some spare pistol clips the Furret-man had hidden in his tail. “Nice try,” Zade whispered in his head, “But my boyfriend’s hidden stuff way better than this.” He finished and tossed everything on the ground the tripped Frank on his face, “All done, Captain.”

“Good,” Jameson looked to where Melany and GR-0-WL were still watching Frank, “GR-0-WL can you please keep an eye on Frank until we get back to the city, if he tries to run then drag him back but try not to break his legs or we’ll have to carry him back.”

“I will,” GR-0-WL barked. Melany pet the robo-Growlithe and powered her rifle down.

“Now then, let’s take stock of what we gathered,” Captain Jameson walked over to the Tauros as Jamie and Dew were feeding the Pokemon to keep them calm.

“Are you serious!?” Mary looked up from where she had been crying, “I just lost my best friend from when we were kids! How can you be thinking about our mission?!”

“So her death wasn’t in vain,” Jameson kept his voice level but looked sympathetically at Mary as he walked over to the Raticate-woman, “Allison was a good soldier but we need to make sure this sort of thing doesn’t happen again. Just help us take stock of things, alright Sergeant?”

Mary sniffed then accepted the hand her captain offered to help her stand, “Yes, Sir,” and joined him in emptying everyone’s backpacks into the Tauros’ bags and counting everything they had.

“Why did they want you?” Helios had returned to Dee’s side where she sat on the ground.

Dee touched her chest between her stomach and breasts, “They said they wanted something inside me.”

“Maybe it’s what’s making you heal so fast may I see your injuries?” Gertrude had joined them. Dee nodded and removed her shirt so Gertrude could examine her, “You’ve healed, just like I thought. I’m sorry I didn’t give you a stimpack but I wanted to see if you were still healing fast.” She turned to Helios who gave her a harsh glare back for a moment, “Helios’ wounds are healing at the normal rate for a Poke-person but you’re still regenerating at an incredible rate. I don’t want to test how far it goes, but we know you can regrow a severed aura-dread.” Gertrude sighed and sat next to Dee, “I wish I had more sophisticated equipment to check out here, like when I was with The Followers, but so far 90% of the population is military. Even the other doctors there have to make do with whatever we can scrounge up or get supplied.”

“Whatever they want, we won’t let them get it,” Melany joined them while she kept an eye on Frank as the rest of the squad checked their loot.

“Might as well get supper,” Helios dug ration bars out of his pack and passed them to the other three.

It was completely dark out when Jameson gathered everyone at the center of camp, even Frank who was dragged there so they could keep an eye on him.

“Alright people, this was a rough day but at least we gathered more than enough ordinance to cover what we spent, though nothing can replace the comrades we lost in action, Sergeants Alisson and Joel will be missed but we need to get back to Trovitopolis with our haul as soon as possible.” He turned to Frank who wilted under his stare and shivered in the cold night air without clothes, “If you tell us what the Senator is planning we’ll give you back your fatigues so you don’t risk freezing overnight.”

Frank gulped as he felt the murderous stares boring into him, “Senator DuVille wants us to deliver the ordinance to him so he can kill General Silverman and take control of the military, he didn’t tell me anything else just that we had to deliver Dee to the Mewtwo.”

“He threatened us with the same thing,” Melany spoke up, “Gertrude found out without him knowing and told the General. Sorry we didn’t say something earlier but I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t let that slip,” she glared at Frank.

“That’s fine, we know now and now we need to plan,” Zade reluctantly gave Frank his clothes.

Captain Jameson nodded, “Exactly. If Senator DuVille is planning a coup then he could be putting things into motion even as we speak. We need to get back to the city as soon as possible.”

“But if we drive the Tauros hard for that long they’ll die,” Jamie spoke up.

“That’s right, so we’re splitting up,” Jameson turned to Dee, Helios, Melany and Gertude, “I’d like you four to accompany Lieutenant Zade on a forced march back to Trovitopolis. GR-0-WL, I’d like you to stay here and keep an eye on Frank so he doesn’t slip away in the night. The rest of us will take the Tauros on a less obvious route back to the city so we don’t attract any extra attention.”

Melany turned to GR-0-WL, “You ok with being here without us?”

GR-0-WL nodded, “I’ll keep Frank here,” it turned to the now clothed Furret-man.

“I’ll get back there, Captain,” Zade saluted, “GR-0-WL, keep an eye on Frank and if he tries to run, drag him back here. Don’t break his leg or they’ll have to drag him the whole way back.”

“Wait a sec,” Lauren stood up and counted everyone, “Where’s Annai?” Everyone looked around and only just realized that the human wasn’t with them.

Dee focused through her eyes as her aura-dreads rose, trying to sense the human’s aura, but felt nothing. “She helped me escape the Mewtwo but after that she just vanished. Either they got her.”

“Or she stayed behind because she found what she was looking for,” Melany looked grim.

Gertrude sighed sadly, “Nothing we can do about it tonight. Just get some sleep.”

“I’m not sleeping near the man who got my brother killed,” Dew picked up her stuff and moved several meters away. Everyone but GR-0-WL followed suit and left Frank alone with the sleepless robo-Growlithe.

They were awakened to barking and shouting in the night. They were too sleepy to force themselves up. A few minutes later GR-0-WL loped back into camp, a length of fabric clutched in its teeth.

Melany was the first up and at his side, “GR-0-WL what happened?”

GR-0-WL dropped the piece off frabric, which was half of a pant-leg, and hung its head “I’m sorry, Frank got away. He just suddenly ran off and I tried to drag him back but I missed his leg and just ripped his pant leg off.”

Melany stroked the robo-Growlithe’s head, “It’s alright, we’ve been putting too much on you.”

Captain Jameson lay back down, “She’s right, and sorry to say it doesn’t change anything. Did he grab anything before he ran?”

“No, he was just in his clothing,” GR-0-WL said.

“Then he’ll likely die out there without supplies, and even if he doesn’t we won’t be able to catch up to him tonight,” Captain Jameson rolled over, “Go back to sleep then tomorrow we’ll continue with the original plans, except GR-0-WL should return with you just in case.”

They all reluctantly lay back down to sleep. Despite Melany’s insistence GR-0-WL remained on watch that night.

The next morning, Dee, Helios, Melany, Gertrude, GR-0-WL and Zade set off at a hustle back to the city while the others prepped the Tauros for the long march back in their wake.
