"writing": "Chapter 21: Happy Trails Expedition\n\nDee stopped at the Magma Caravan’s offices where she was able to buy food and water supplies for her trip. She thought about going to see the owner so she could fulfill the request that Alex the Ninetails-man had given her about selling his defunct Kitun Caravans. Eventually Dee decided against it for now as she would probably need to carry paperwork halfway across the wasteland back to the Kalos outpost and she was about to leave on a trip that would take who knows how long. She’d stop back here when she returned.\n\nDee’s Rotom-Boy guided her north of New Lumiose to a cave called the “Northern Passage”. It only took a day to reach and Dee entered the cavern early in the morning. Inside, Dee found a small group of armed Poke-people gathered around a lantern: a Blaziken-woman in leather armor, two Mightyena-men also in leather armor and a Larvitar-man in… a vault suit and Rotom-Boy?\n\nThe apparent leader of the expedition was a balding middle-aged Gogoat-man in overalls and a rancher’s shirt. As he conversed with the two Mightyena-men Dee recognized his voice as the one from the radio, which meant he was probably Jed Masterson.\n\n“Hey! This place is looking better already!” The Larvitar-man in the Vault suit put on a swaggering grin as he stepped forwards, “Welcome to the party, sweet cheeks. Guess we’ll be spending a lot of time together on the trail.”\n\nDee recoiled gave him a half-squint, “And you are…?”\n\n“Name’s Ricky, bet you’ve heard of me so you don’t to be scared to join up,” The Larvitar-man leered at Dee, “I’ll keep a close eye on you – real close.”\n\n“Stuff a rock in it, Ricky!” the Blaziken-woman walked up next to Dee, her arms folded, “The only thing you’re more repulsive to is electricity.”\n\n“Well fuck you! Let me introduce myself my way,” Ricky jabbed his left thumb towards himself, which let Dee get a better look at his Rotom-boy.\n\nDee smirked back at the Blaziken-woman, “Thanks, but I can handle this.” She turned back to Ricky, “So did you grow up in a Vault?”\n\n“Hell yeah I did,” the Larvitar-man’s swagger returned, “Where else would I get a suit like this or a Rightem-boy. It makes me badass, I mean more badass than I already am. I grew up in Vault Two-Two,” he turned to show off the big yellow 22 on his back.\n\nDee held up her left arm, “That’s Rotom-boy, and I’ve got one too.”\n\nRicky stumbled a bit but quickly regained his swagger, “Yeah, first thing I noticed about you, after all that’s how I earned my name, Deadeye-Ricky ‘cause I shoot people right in the eyes and it shows me where to aim. Bet you can’t do that,” he patted the poorly maintained pistol at his side.\n\nDee rolled her eyes, “You’re right, I’m a terrible shot.”\n\n“Everyone is compared to me. Not only that but I grew up near dayglow out west so I grew a third nut that glows in the dark,” Ricky grinned again, “I’ll drop trou out on the trail so you can see what you’re working with.”\n\nThe Blaziken-woman moved to grab the assault rifle on her back, “Good, it’ll give me a clear shot.”\n\n“You didn’t grow up in a Vault,” Dee interrupted before Ricky could protest, “If you’re from the west then you couldn’t have come from Vault 22, since that’s here in Kalos. Also your Rotom-Boy doesn’t work: the screen’s locked up and the reset button is missing, in fact the biometric lock isn’t even engaged so you could just take it off without surgery.”\n\nRicky seemed to boil over, “Screw you! It does too work! You don’t have to be such heinous bitches about it…”\n\nDee turned to the Blaziken-woman and left Ricky to his rant. “Thanks, at least there’s someone on the trail I can talk to.”\n\nThe Blaziken-woman rolled her eyes, “He tried the same routine on me when he showed up. Only reason I didn’t kick his ass is because I thought his Rotom-boy was working,” she extended a hand, “Name’s Lauren.”\n\nDee grabbed her hand and shook it, “I’m Dee.”\n\nBoth froze mid shake as they heard each other’s names, then beak and muzzle broke out into huge smiles.\n\n“DEE!”\n\n“LAUREN!”\n\nBoth threw their arms around each other in a huge hug, laughing happily as their breasts squished together. \n\nDee pulled back, still grinning, “You evolved and you really filled out,” Dee had to look up slightly to look Lauren in the eyes, then down to her chest.\n\nLauren still smiled and patted her breasts under her leather armor, which were at least D-cups, “Not as much as you did. You got all shiny too, how’d that happen.”\n\nDee sighed but forced a smile, “Long story, I’ll tell you about it on the road if you want to hear it. What about you?”\n\nLauren nodded, “Not so long. When my enlistment ran out four years ago I decided to just become a freelance caravan guard. Didn’t pay the best since I didn’t stick to one company but I got to see more of the world.”\n\n“Sorry to interrupt, you know her Lauren?” Jed Masterson the Gogoat-man came over to greet the two.\n\nLauren nodded, “Dee and I met when I was still in the NKR military. She saved the New Orange Pass six years ago.”\n\nJed looked Dee up and down, his expression analytical instead of lustful, “I assume you can fight then, don’t have many weapons. You carry much gear?”\n\n“Just some grenades, but I can fight just fine with my aura,” Dee held up a fist that sparked with electricity for a moment. “I travel light.”\n\nLauren clapped her hard on the back, but Dee didn’t budge, “She’s even stronger than when I last saw her, and my dad taught her Blaze Kick back then.”\n\nJed nodded, “That’s good. The trails we’re travelling have some narrow slot canyons and high passes so we can’t risk anyone’s pack getting wedged in like a pack-Tauros or weighed down and suffocating at high altitudes. Did I hear you right when you said that Ricky’s Rotom-boy is broken,” he glanced back at the Larvitar-man, who went rigid.\n\nDee nodded, “Yes, completely useless.”\n\n“Just like him,” Lauren laughed.\n\n“Do you mind showing me how yours works,” Jed looked down at Dee’s Rotom-boy, “You understand my suspicions that someone with a ‘working’ Rotom-boy just happens to show up and tell me the first guy’s is a dud.”\n\n“Go ahead,” Dee held her arm out and showed off the various functions of the wrist-mounted computer.\n\nJed triple-checked the map functions then nodded, “Everything looks good, so welcome to the Happy Trails Caravan Company expedition.” He stepped back, “Alright, we’re heading north to Hisui Canyon to try and re-establish contact with New Celestica.”\n\n“Hisui? Wasn’t that just what they used to call the Sinnoh region?” Dee scratched her head in confusion. “And what’s New Celestica?”\n\nJed nodded, “That is what they used to call Sinnoh, but this Hisui is just named for that old region by the New Celesticans and the other tribes out there. As for New Celestica, they’re a religious tribe that practices modern Arceism, that is to say the believe that Arceus still watches over us and judges us so they’ve created a new religion around Arceus that’s more than just invoking their name all the time. They were good trading partners too but a few years ago we lost contact.” Jed shook his head sadly, “It was a big blow to Happy Trails so this job is to seek the out and try to re-establish trade routes with them. It’ll be a two week-trek each way, pay is 25 caps a day, half now and half when we arrive with a bonus if we find New Celestica. Also getting back might be some trouble since the area isn’t properly mapped but your Rotom-boy’s auto-mapping should help us piece together a way back here.”\n\nDee looked down at her wrist computer for a moment then back up to Jed, “What kind of danger can we expect?”\n\n“Tribals and raiders, worst of them are the Nightshades, a tribe of Salandit and Salazzle, and Toxic Shock Syndrome, or Toxic Shocks if you don’t like the mouthful, a tribe of Toxtricity. Toxic Shock Syndrome shoot on sight and scream so much they might cause an avalanche. Also the usual mutant Pokemon but nothing you shouldn’t be able to handle.” Jed turned to the two Mightyena-men then paused and pointed to a large crate, “If you have anything you don’t need or don’t want to risk getting stolen or destroyed, lock it in there until we get back. Best to travel light and only bring supplies. One more thing, don’t mention Joshua Graham or The Burned Man out there. His name makes the Tribals uncomfortable.”\n\nDee decided not to ask who he meant as she pulled off her backpack and dug through until she found the dress Holly had given her from the Sierra Madre. She carefully set the dress in the chest alongside several other frivolous items that she guessed belonged to the others.\n\nJed locked the chest then stood up. “Alright everyone, we’re heading out so make sure you’ve got all the food and water you need. Remember, we won’t be back for a month and we’re not stopping for any missed supplies, so no one say ‘oh but Mister Jed I left my one-of-a-kind plasma cannon back at the passage, can we go back for it’ because we won’t. We’ll walk till sunset then set up camp. Let’s move out.” He grabbed his own pack and headed through the cavern passage with the two Mightyena-men right behind him. Ricky held back for a minute but was encouraged to hurry up when Dee and Lauren glared at him, wanting his eyes off their behinds. Once Ricky got moving the two old friends picked up the rear, walking in silence so their conversation wouldn’t echo around the cavern.\n\nIt was midday by the time they had left the cavern and were out on the open trail. Sadly, Ricky’s bravado returned and he talked the ears off of anyone, whether they were listening or not. The only reason no one shut him up was to conserve energy. They even ate on the go as Jed was insistent on covering as much terrain as possible before nightfall.\n\nJed called a halt when the sun was almost down, “Alright, set up camp for the night!” He pulled his backpack off and pulled a tent pack out.\n\nLauren did the same, “Ever slept in a camping tent before?” she watched as Dee took her own backpack off, “One of Happy Trails’ perks is these things. Apparently they found or used to be part of some sporting goods company before the war.”\n\n“Awesome!” Ricky had been winded but forced himself to grin at the two, “so who’s tent am I sharing?”\n\n“Jed’s, if he’ll put up with you,” Dee glared at Ricky then took Lauren’s hand as she stood up from unpacking the tent, “mind sharing your tent with me?”\n\nLauren caught what Dee was doing and put her arms around the shiny Lucario-woman, “You can go pitch your tent alone, like always. Dee and I have a lot of catching up to do.”\n\nDee gave Lauren a quick kiss, which the Blaziken-woman reciprocated.\n\nRicky’s eyes twitched, “The fuck!? You mean I was hitting on a couple a lesbos! Shit, you two are a complete waste of time!”\n\nDee turned and glared daggers at the Larvitar-man, “And how do you feel if I said I was born male?”\n\n“Holy, what the fuck I-gack!” Ricky shouted in pain as a Vine Whip wrapped around his waist then yanked him back.\n\n“That’s enough, kid,” Jed Masterson retracted the Vine Whip into the palm of his hand, “Go help the Mighteyena brothers set up the tents and do it quietly.”\n\nRicky grumbled but went to do as ordered, rubbing the rash that the grass-type had left around his middle through the Vault suit.\n\nJed looked at the two Poke-women apologetically as they released each other, “Sorry about that, if I knew he was like that I wouldn’t have hired him.”\n\n“So just kick him out,” Lauren crossed her arms and fumed, “even his gun is a piece of crap; it’ll probably jam the first time he fires it.”\n\nJed sighed sadly, “I wish I could, but if I fired someone in the middle of a caravan trip that would reflect badly on Happy Trails, unless he does something criminal like attack or steal from us then I wouldn’t have what most would consider a good reason, and willing help’s hard to find, good help even harder. Just to be clear though, I can’t stand his attitude either so just try to ignore him. But if he tries something stupid, I won’t stop you from defending yourselves.” The Gogoat-man gave a mild smile, “Now I’ll leave you to your tent. Get your sleep because we’re moving out tomorrow morning.”\n\nDee let out a sigh of relief then turned to the tent in a pile on the ground, “So how do we put this together?”\n\n“Just follow my instructions,” Lauren began sticking poles together.\n\nHalf-an-hour later, Dee and Lauren were holed up inside the tent. Dee looked up at the brown canvas roof. It so close she had to sit inside as she unrolled the bedroll, “Kinda reminds me of the Vault, but softer.” She turned to Lauren who had pulled out a blanket, “Thanks for playing along earlier.”\n\nLauren grinned, “Who was playing?” She pulled her armor off and she gave a sigh of satisfaction as her breasts were exposed to the air, “Nice to let the girls breathe,” she hefted them up. No longer confined by the armor, they were at least DD-cups and her nipples and areola were metallic red.\n\nDee blushed and removed her scrubs, “Yeah, nice to let them breathe somewhere safe. You’ve really grown out.”\n\nLauren laughed, “Not as much as you, though I think I’m bigger than you used to be.” She leaned towards Dee and pressed into the Lucario-woman’s chest.\n\nDee couldn’t help but reach over and grasp Lauren’s breasts, they were a lot firmer than her own and didn’t give too much when she squeezed. Lauren shuddered and returned the favor, which squished in.\n\n“So… you prefer girls?” Dee averted her eyes a bit.\n\nLauren blushed, “I’m good with either, but I think I want to settle down and have kids of my own someday, once I find the right guy. But it’ll be nice to have a friend to blow off steam with at night.” She smiled seductively.\n\nDee reached down, her face also red as her gaze returned to meet Laruen’s, “I’d like that,” she squeezed Lauren’s ass which was also firmer than her own, if not as big, then gasped as she felt Lauren do the same to her.\n\n“I missed you,” Lauren kissed Dee then they lay down together.\n\nDee and Lauren awoke early the next day, still snuggled up with their breasts smooshed together before the sun had risen.\n\n“Enjoy yourself?” Dee whispered.\n\n“Best night I’ve had in ages,” Lauren blushed and chuckled, “Where’d you learn to do that?”\n\n“In the Sierra Madre, from a Zoroark-woman named Holly,” Dee gave Lauren a peck on the cheek and a nuzzle, “I’ll tell you more on the road.”\n\n“Guess we should get up then,” Dee carefully disentangled herself from Lauren and pulled a feather out of her fur, “Got a long walk ahead of us.”\n\nLauren sat up and stretched, “Yeah, we’ll have plenty of nights together on this trip.” She smiled as she pulled her leather armor on again while Dee pulled on her armored scrubs.\n\nThey emerged not too long later to pack up their tents as Jed and the two Mightyena-men were doing the same. As Lauren finished folding the tent, she stopped and looked around, “Where’s Ricky the pain-in-the-ass?”\n\n“He took off in the middle of the night,” one of the Mightyena-men answered, “Woke me up too, then he headed south back to Kalos.”\n\n“Yeah, I paid him the advance I owed him before we settled down last night,” Jed reached into his bag, “Which reminds me, here’s your advance just in case.” He withdrew four small satchels and passed them around to each of them, “I admit, I paid him last night in hopes he’d decide that was enough and take off on his own, then he’d be in breach of contract and I wouldn’t owe him the second half of the payment.”\n\n“Thank Arceus,” Dee sighed and smiled, “Should be a lot nicer without him around.”\n\n“Yeah, I was sick of his bitching and boasting,” the other Mightyena-man picked up the tent he and Jed had shared.\n\n“Well then, let’s get a move on,” Jed pulled his backpack on as they started back on the path North.\n\nThe sun was beating down even harder than usual so Dee pulled out a wide brimmed hat from her time as a courier and put it on.\n\nClose to midday, Jed decided to tell a story, “The paths we're following are slow going, so you might as well keep your ears open and listen to what old Jed has to say. A few decades back, folks in the NKR started to hear about a community in the north called New Celestica. Didn't know much about them, except that they were religious folks. Sent out help to talk to the tribes. We've seen our share of cults, but the New Celesticans, they were honest traders. Good fighters, too. Raiders wouldn't tangle with 'em.\n\n“But then the Kogun appeared out west. I reckon you know all about them. Turns out Nobunaga's first war chief, the Warukuni Shogun, was a New Celestican. Joshua Graham. Legend goes that Graham was the meanest, toughest son of a bitch in the whole damned Kogun. The New Celesticans wouldn't talk about him. They were ashamed. Guess I can't blame 'em.\n\n“Well at Gaiva Dam, the Warukuni Shogun finally met his match. Hanlon and Oliver kicked his New Celestican butt right back over the river. She’d stop back here when she returned.

Dee’s Rotom-Boy guided her north of New Lumiose to a cave called the “Northern Passage”. It only took a day to reach and Dee entered the cavern early in the morning. Inside, Dee found a small group of armed Poke-people gathered around a lantern: a Blaziken-woman in leather armor, two Mightyena-men also in leather armor and a Larvitar-man in… a vault suit and Rotom-Boy?

The apparent leader of the expedition was a balding middle-aged Gogoat-man in overalls and a rancher’s shirt. As he conversed with the two Mightyena-men Dee recognized his voice as the one from the radio, which meant he was probably Jed Masterson.

“Hey! This place is looking better already!” The Larvitar-man in the Vault suit put on a swaggering grin as he stepped forwards, “Welcome to the party, sweet cheeks. Guess we’ll be spending a lot of time together on the trail.”

Dee recoiled gave him a half-squint, “And you are…?”

“Name’s Ricky, bet you’ve heard of me so you don’t to be scared to join up,” The Larvitar-man leered at Dee, “I’ll keep a close eye on you – real close.”

“Stuff a rock in it, Ricky!” the Blaziken-woman walked up next to Dee, her arms folded, “The only thing you’re more repulsive to is electricity.”

“Well fuck you! Let me introduce myself my way,” Ricky jabbed his left thumb towards himself, which let Dee get a better look at his Rotom-boy.

Dee smirked back at the Blaziken-woman, “Thanks, but I can handle this.” She turned back to Ricky, “So did you grow up in a Vault?”

“Hell yeah I did,” the Larvitar-man’s swagger returned, “Where else would I get a suit like this or a Rightem-boy. It makes me badass, I mean more badass than I already am. I grew up in Vault Two-Two,” he turned to show off the big yellow 22 on his back.

Dee held up her left arm, “That’s Rotom-boy, and I’ve got one too.”

Ricky stumbled a bit but quickly regained his swagger, “Yeah, first thing I noticed about you, after all that’s how I earned my name, Deadeye-Ricky ‘cause I shoot people right in the eyes and it shows me where to aim. Bet you can’t do that,” he patted the poorly maintained pistol at his side.

Dee rolled her eyes, “You’re right, I’m a terrible shot.”

“Everyone is compared to me. Not only that but I grew up near dayglow out west so I grew a third nut that glows in the dark,” Ricky grinned again, “I’ll drop trou out on the trail so you can see what you’re working with.”

The Blaziken-woman moved to grab the assault rifle on her back, “Good, it’ll give me a clear shot.”

“You didn’t grow up in a Vault,” Dee interrupted before Ricky could protest, “If you’re from the west then you couldn’t have come from Vault 22, since that’s here in Kalos. Also your Rotom-Boy doesn’t work: the screen’s locked up and the reset button is missing, in fact the biometric lock isn’t even engaged so you could just take it off without surgery.”

Ricky seemed to boil over, “Screw you! It does too work! You don’t have to be such heinous bitches about it…”

Dee turned to the Blaziken-woman and left Ricky to his rant. “Thanks, at least there’s someone on the trail I can talk to.”

The Blaziken-woman rolled her eyes, “He tried the same routine on me when he showed up. Only reason I didn’t kick his ass is because I thought his Rotom-boy was working,” she extended a hand, “Name’s Lauren.”

Dee grabbed her hand and shook it, “I’m Dee.”

Both froze mid shake as they heard each other’s names, then beak and muzzle broke out into huge smiles.

“DEE!”

“LAUREN!”

Both threw their arms around each other in a huge hug, laughing happily as their breasts squished together.

Dee pulled back, still grinning, “You evolved and you really filled out,” Dee had to look up slightly to look Lauren in the eyes, then down to her chest.

Lauren still smiled and patted her breasts under her leather armor, which were at least D-cups, “Not as much as you did. You got all shiny too, how’d that happen.”

Dee sighed but forced a smile, “Long story, I’ll tell you about it on the road if you want to hear it. What about you?”

Lauren nodded, “Not so long. When my enlistment ran out four years ago I decided to just become a freelance caravan guard. Didn’t pay the best since I didn’t stick to one company but I got to see more of the world.”

“Sorry to interrupt, you know her Lauren?” Jed Masterson the Gogoat-man came over to greet the two.

Lauren nodded, “Dee and I met when I was still in the NKR military. She saved the New Orange Pass six years ago.”

Jed looked Dee up and down, his expression analytical instead of lustful, “I assume you can fight then, don’t have many weapons. You carry much gear?”

“Just some grenades, but I can fight just fine with my aura,” Dee held up a fist that sparked with electricity for a moment. “I travel light.”

Lauren clapped her hard on the back, but Dee didn’t budge, “She’s even stronger than when I last saw her, and my dad taught her Blaze Kick back then.”

Jed nodded, “That’s good. The trails we’re travelling have some narrow slot canyons and high passes so we can’t risk anyone’s pack getting wedged in like a pack-Tauros or weighed down and suffocating at high altitudes. Did I hear you right when you said that Ricky’s Rotom-boy is broken,” he glanced back at the Larvitar-man, who went rigid.

Dee nodded, “Yes, completely useless.”

“Just like him,” Lauren laughed.

“Do you mind showing me how yours works,” Jed looked down at Dee’s Rotom-boy, “You understand my suspicions that someone with a ‘working’ Rotom-boy just happens to show up and tell me the first guy’s is a dud.”

“Go ahead,” Dee held her arm out and showed off the various functions of the wrist-mounted computer.

Jed triple-checked the map functions then nodded, “Everything looks good, so welcome to the Happy Trails Caravan Company expedition.” He stepped back, “Alright, we’re heading north to Hisui Canyon to try and re-establish contact with New Celestica.”

“Hisui? Wasn’t that just what they used to call the Sinnoh region?” Dee scratched her head in confusion. “And what’s New Celestica?”

Jed nodded, “That is what they used to call Sinnoh, but this Hisui is just named for that old region by the New Celesticans and the other tribes out there. Also getting back might be some trouble since the area isn’t properly mapped but your Rotom-boy’s auto-mapping should help us piece together a way back here.”

Dee looked down at her wrist computer for a moment then back up to Jed, “What kind of danger can we expect?”

“Tribals and raiders, worst of them are the Nightshades, a tribe of Salandit and Salazzle, and Toxic Shock Syndrome, or Toxic Shocks if you don’t like the mouthful, a tribe of Toxtricity. His name makes the Tribals uncomfortable.”

Dee decided not to ask who he meant as she pulled off her backpack and dug through until she found the dress Holly had given her from the Sierra Madre. She carefully set the dress in the chest alongside several other frivolous items that she guessed belonged to the others.

Jed locked the chest then stood up. Once Ricky got moving the two old friends picked up the rear, walking in silence so their conversation wouldn’t echo around the cavern.

It was midday by the time they had left the cavern and were out on the open trail. Sadly, Ricky’s bravado returned and he talked the ears off of anyone, whether they were listening or not. The only reason no one shut him up was to conserve energy. They even ate on the go as Jed was insistent on covering as much terrain as possible before nightfall.

Jed called a halt when the sun was almost down, “Alright, set up camp for the night!” He pulled his backpack off and pulled a tent pack out.

Lauren did the same, “Ever slept in a camping tent before?” she watched as Dee took her own backpack off, “One of Happy Trails’ perks is these things. Apparently they found or used to be part of some sporting goods company before the war.”

“Awesome!” Ricky had been winded but forced himself to grin at the two, “so who’s tent am I sharing?”

“Jed’s, if he’ll put up with you,” Dee glared at Ricky then took Lauren’s hand as she stood up from unpacking the tent, “mind sharing your tent with me?”

Lauren caught what Dee was doing and put her arms around the shiny Lucario-woman, “You can go pitch your tent alone, like always. Dee and I have a lot of catching up to do.”

Dee gave Lauren a quick kiss, which the Blaziken-woman reciprocated.

Ricky’s eyes twitched, “The fuck!? You mean I was hitting on a couple a lesbos! Shit, you two are a complete waste of time!”

Dee turned and glared daggers at the Larvitar-man, “And how do you feel if I said I was born male?”

“Holy, what the fuck I-gack!” Ricky shouted in pain as a Vine Whip wrapped around his waist then yanked him back.

“That’s enough, kid,” Jed Masterson retracted the Vine Whip into the palm of his hand, “Go help the Mighteyena brothers set up the tents and do it quietly.”

Ricky grumbled but went to do as ordered, rubbing the rash that the grass-type had left around his middle through the Vault suit.

Jed looked at the two Poke-women apologetically as they released each other, “Sorry about that, if I knew he was like that I wouldn’t have hired him.”

“So just kick him out,” Lauren crossed her arms and fumed, “even his gun is a piece of crap; it’ll probably jam the first time he fires it.”

Jed sighed sadly, “I wish I could, but if I fired someone in the middle of a caravan trip that would reflect badly on Happy Trails, unless he does something criminal like attack or steal from us then I wouldn’t have what most would consider a good reason, and willing help’s hard to find, good help even harder. Just to be clear though, I can’t stand his attitude either so just try to ignore him. But if he tries something stupid, I won’t stop you from defending yourselves.” The Gogoat-man gave a mild smile, “Now I’ll leave you to your tent. Get your sleep because we’re moving out tomorrow morning.”

Dee let out a sigh of relief then turned to the tent in a pile on the ground, “So how do we put this together?”

“Just follow my instructions,” Lauren began sticking poles together.

Half-an-hour later, Dee and Lauren were holed up inside the tent. Dee looked up at the brown canvas roof. It so close she had to sit inside as she unrolled the bedroll, “Kinda reminds me of the Vault, but softer.” She turned to Lauren who had pulled out a blanket, “Thanks for playing along earlier.”

Lauren grinned, “Who was playing?” She pulled her armor off and she gave a sigh of satisfaction as her breasts were exposed to the air, “Nice to let the girls breathe,” she hefted them up. No longer confined by the armor, they were at least DD-cups and her nipples and areola were metallic red.

Dee blushed and removed her scrubs, “Yeah, nice to let them breathe somewhere safe. You’ve really grown out.”

Lauren laughed, “Not as much as you, though I think I’m bigger than you used to be.” She leaned towards Dee and pressed into the Lucario-woman’s chest.

Dee couldn’t help but reach over and grasp Lauren’s breasts, they were a lot firmer than her own and didn’t give too much when she squeezed. Lauren shuddered and returned the favor, which squished in.

“So… you prefer girls?” Dee averted her eyes a bit.

Lauren blushed, “I’m good with either, but I think I want to settle down and have kids of my own someday, once I find the right guy. But it’ll be nice to have a friend to blow off steam with at night.” She smiled seductively.

Dee reached down, her face also red as her gaze returned to meet Laruen’s, “I’d like that,” she squeezed Lauren’s ass which was also firmer than her own, if not as big, then gasped as she felt Lauren do the same to her.

“I missed you,” Lauren kissed Dee then they lay down together.

Dee and Lauren awoke early the next day, still snuggled up with their breasts smooshed together before the sun had risen.

“Enjoy yourself?” Dee whispered.

“Best night I’ve had in ages,” Lauren blushed and chuckled, “Where’d you learn to do that?”

“In the Sierra Madre, from a Zoroark-woman named Holly,” Dee gave Lauren a peck on the cheek and a nuzzle, “I’ll tell you more on the road.”

“Guess we should get up then,” Dee carefully disentangled herself from Lauren and pulled a feather out of her fur, “Got a long walk ahead of us.”

Lauren sat up and stretched, “Yeah, we’ll have plenty of nights together on this trip.” She smiled as she pulled her leather armor on again while Dee pulled on her armored scrubs.

They emerged not too long later to pack up their tents as Jed and the two Mightyena-men were doing the same. As Lauren finished folding the tent, she stopped and looked around, “Where’s Ricky the pain-in-the-ass?”

“He took off in the middle of the night,” one of the Mightyena-men answered, “Woke me up too, then he headed south back to Kalos.”

“Yeah, I paid him the advance I owed him before we settled down last night,” Jed reached into his bag, “Which reminds me, here’s your advance just in case.” He withdrew four small satchels and passed them around to each of them, “I admit, I paid him last night in hopes he’d decide that was enough and take off on his own, then he’d be in breach of contract and I wouldn’t owe him the second half of the payment.”

“Thank Arceus,” Dee sighed and smiled, “Should be a lot nicer without him around.”

“Yeah, I was sick of his bitching and boasting,” the other Mightyena-man picked up the tent he and Jed had shared.

“Well then, let’s get a move on,” Jed pulled his backpack on as they started back on the path North.

The sun was beating down even harder than usual so Dee pulled out a wide brimmed hat from her time as a courier and put it on.

Close to midday, Jed decided to tell a story, “The paths we're following are slow going, so you might as well keep your ears open and listen to what old Jed has to say. A few decades back, folks in the NKR started to hear about a community in the north called New Celestica. Didn't know much about them, except that they were religious folks. Sent out help to talk to the tribes. We've seen our share of cults, but the New Celesticans, they were honest traders. Good fighters, too. Raiders wouldn't tangle with 'em.

“But then the Kogun appeared out west. Guess I can't blame 'em.

“Well at Gaiva Dam, the Warukuni Shogun finally met his match. Hanlon and Oliver kicked his New Celestican butt right back over the river. Nobunaga had to make an example for the others, to show them that even at the highest level, failure wouldn't be tolerated. He had Graham covered in pitch, lit on fire, and thrown into the canyon. People say he didn't even scream on the way down. Not long after, some of the slaves and tribals started to talk. Wanted to erase Joshua Graham from history. He got his wish. Joshua Graham disappeared. And in his place came legends of the Burned Man walking the wastes. Probably just a tribal ghost story. But New Celestica’s been silent for a long time. Maybe it's a coincidence. Maybe the Warukuni Shogun is dead.

“Or maybe, Joshua Graham did crawl out of that canyon and finally found his way back home.”",
