The Rise of Entropy Part 1 It was a quiet night at Gerald Robotnik’s University for Mobian Physics. The classes had been dismissed for a long time, every room had been thoroughly cleaned and each light was turned off… Each except for a singular light coming from the office and laboratory of the funnily renamed GRUMP’s most brilliant professor, multiple award-winning and physics expert professor Franklin the Wolf. The albino wolf, dressed mainly in a lab coat, was still up and running, quickly writing and muttering complex physics formulas, interrupting only to type rapidly something on his PC, which had a simulation of a weird gizmo running. Each time though, the simulation would fail, for a reason or another, causing the wolf to groan, rub his temples before slapping his cheeks and go back to the blackboard, to cancel or rewrite a piece of the formula he was writing. He kept this up for a few more minutes, his tongue poking out from his lips and his green eyes squinting behind his round glasses as he focused, before a pair of hands slid under his glasses and covered his eyes. -Guess who..?- chuckled the voice of a woman behind him, making him jump at the sudden gesture. -...Miriam?- he asked, to which the hands moved away, making him turn and see the female hazel-furred and blue eyed wolf standing in front of him, dressed like a janitor, the suit stretched by the five months-old baby bump in her belly, and holding onto a broom, smirking smugly and wagging her tail as he wagged his, a smile forming on his pale muzzle. -Scared you?- she asked, giggling. -A bit, to be honest.- chuckled back the wolf, hugging the newcomer and exchanging a tender kiss on the lips with her, caressing her pregnant belly. -Scaredy cat…- she giggled, sticking her tongue out. -You tease…- he snickered as he went back to the blackboard. -You need anything, dear?- asked Franklin, continuing to change the formula he was writing. -I am hungry, but I don’t know if you, Mr Roboto, could understand hunger…- she joked, making him huff and slap his forehead. -Oh jeez, what time is it?- he asked, groaning. -It’s 9 p.m., darling. Way past 9 p.m., to be perfectly honest.- she replied, placing the broom down. -Ugh, idiot… This project is draining me…- he huffed, taking off his glasses to rub his eyelids. -Hey, don’t worry, it’s not so late that we can’t enjoy a quiet dinner alone. Plus, your project is important. I mean, at least I think it's important since I don’t understand a thing about physics or gravity and all that jazz, but you get my point.- she said, waving her hand and joining her husband on the blackboard. They met as soon as he began working there at the University, which was also her first day of work, and they liked each other immediately, chatting whenever they could, taking coffees together and now, five years later that fateful day, they were happily married, with every intent of starting a family together. Franklin smiled and laid his cheek on her hand, making her smile. -It’s not more important than us, honey, you know that, right?- he asked her, to which she nodded and nuzzled his cheek. -Good, because I don’t want to be the crappy husband who thinks his job is more important than his beautiful wife.- he added, giggling as she nuzzled him. -Are you trying to bribe yourself out of your predicament with compliments, honey? Because it’s working…- she cooed and moved away, caressing his cheek. -So, how long do you think it’ll take to finish this… gravity… thingamabob?- she asked, looking at the complex formula and at the machine on the computer: it was the reproduction of a gravity generator Franklin himself designed. -The Chaos-Powered Gravitronic Reactor, honey. And it should be done, I just…I don’t get why the simulation fails!- he grunted and lowered his shoulder, he had been working on this thing the whole day, not counting the many months before. -...Unless…- he suddenly said, went to the board and changed one simple variable. His eyes lit up as he went to the computer and programmed the simulation with the new formula. -Cross your fingers, honey…- he said, shutting his eyes. -It’s not the only thing I’m crossing, Frank…- she said, watching the simulation run. He opened his eyes as he heard a constant beep, and he saw the green light on the simulation. -It… It works… IT WORKS!! HAHAHAHA, IT WORKS!!- he began laughing and jumping up and down. -Really? But all you did was change one number…- Miriam said, confused but also happy for her husband. -Yeah! I can’t believe I had been so dumb! Oh, I should’ve known having you here, my muse, would be enough to make it work…- he said, hugging her, spinning her around and kissing her, while she giggled. -Happy to please.- she cooed back. He smiled, put her down and went to download the schematics he just ran into the actual machine. -Soon… Soon G.U.N. and the spatial program will all use my machine to train their men for space work. And all this thanks to a small Chaos Drive I scavenged from the scrap yard!- he said, full of hope. -I’m so proud of you, Frank.- she said, hugging him. -Thanks, dear. Uhm, can I ask you for one last favor? Could you put the machine back in my wardrobe while I write down the formula?- he asked her. -You’re lucky I’m nice.- she said, grinning but nodding as she took the machine and went to put it in his wardrobe, while Franklin wrote down the complex formula he found. -So easy… Yet so complex…- he muttered, then he felt his wife tug at his coat. -One second, honey. Let me write it down, then we can get out of here and go grab dinner.- he said, not looking. -Uh, Franklin? I… I think you have a guest…- she said, her voice was stuttery and panicked. -A guest? At this hour?- he asked, turning to see who she talked about. He paled even more as he saw who just came in his office: doctor Eggman himself, complete with his EggPod and his robots. -Hello, dear professor Franklin. How are things?- asked the doctor with a fake amiable tone. -D-Doctor Eggman? W-What are you doing here?- he asked, instinctively putting himself in front of his wife, who looked scared beyond anything he had ever seen. And for a good reason: during the war, Eggman’s platoons killed her family. -Oh, you know, passing by to see the legacy of my dear grandfather, a melting pot of brilliant minds melding together to reshape the universe… Too bad said minds will be directed to benign purposes instead of shaping the new governors of the world…But I digress. I heard you speaking of a gravity generator powered by a Chaos Drive, if I’m not mistaken…- said the evil genius, petting his staches. -S-So what if I have?- he asked, trying to sound brave. -Well, it would be crucial for that hedgehog’s impending demise. I request you hand it over to me.- said the doctor, stretching out his hand. -I-I can’t… I can’t just give it to you, not only because it’s not properly tested yet… It’s my life’s work, I can’t hand it over to someone, least of all a war criminal like you…- Franklin tried to sound menacious, but all he did was make Eggman chuckle. -Wrong answer.- he said, snapping his fingers. His Egg Pawns stormed the lab, trashing it as they looked for the machine. -NO! STOP!- Franklin shouted and tried to stop them, but two robots restrained him and his wife. -Had you cooperated, this wouldn't have happened… You only have yourself to blame…- said Eggman cruelly, but then a blue bolt dashed past him and destroyed the robots holding down Franklin and Miriam. -Playin’ the blame game, Eggman? You truly have no shame…- said Sonic, smirking and folding his arms. -YOU! How the heck did you know I was here?!- Eggman growled. -Ever heard of a silent alarm, Eggs for Brains? The University put one in case you ever tried to raid it, directly linked to the Restoration’s HQ. And, whoopsie daisy, I was the closest here. But don’t worry. I expect company.- said Sonic cockily. However, after a few seconds, he began tapping his foot. -I said, I expect company!- he grunted louder, to which a few robots flew by the door of the lab, thrown by a cyan aura. Then, Silver flew inside the room. -About time, fluffy, What took you?- asked Sonic. -First, don’t call me that. It’s somehow even worse than pothead. Second, you blasted through the robots, but the backup slowed me down.- Silver huffed as he cracked his knuckles, giving a quick, indescribable look at Franklin. -Yah yah yah… Now, Eggsy, do you give up or do you give up?- asked Sonic, grinning. -I pick the third option. EGG ARMADA, ATTACK!- growled the doctor, to which his army attacked the two hedgehogs. -Heh, figures… Silv?- asked Sonic. -Cyan Tornado?- asked back the psychic hedgehog, smirking. -Cyan Tornado.- Sonic snickered back and revved up a Spin Dash. Silver wrapped Sonic in his aura and began manipulating him around, cayusing utter devastation to the robots, who couldn’t even get close. -Rrrggghhh!! Stupid perfectly made robots! FIGHT! BETTER!- he grunted. The robots tried to attack the dynamic duo but alas, it ended up like the others: with them turned into scrap. Sadly though, Franklin didn’t sit still and took advantage of the doctor being distracted to sneak past him and grab the machine, trying to secure it. However, this caught the attention of the doctor, who quickly flew to him and grabbed the machine as well. -Hey, hands off!- Franklin snarled and pulled the machine towards him. -You hands off! I stole it fair and square! It’s mine!- grunted Eggman, pulling the machine towards him. They began this tug of war which, in any other circumstance, would look hilarious: a grown man and an adult wolf fighting for the machine. Miriam helped her husband pull the machine towards him, but Eggman was aided by two mechanical arms assisting him. -RRGGHH!! RRGGHH!!- he grunted, trying to take the machine for himself. -NNGGHH!! NNGGHH!!- the two wolves grunted too, not wanting him to get it. Sonic and Silver noticed them fighting for the gizmo, and Silver’s eyes widened. -Sonic! Grab that thing!- said the future hedgehog. -Huh?- asked Sonic. -JUST DO IT!- Silver snapped, making Sonic wince, but then he remembered what Silver told them: if he acted like that over something or someone, it had to do with something in the future. -Okay, okay…- said Sonic, dashing to get it, helping the two wolves to snatch it from Eggman. -Gh! Stay out of this, hedgehog!- grunted Eggman, pushing his thrusters to full power to fight the three while Silver single-handedly took care of the robots. Sadly though, the contenders’ grip slipped and the machine flew up, only to then land down with a bad THUD, followed by a few CRACKS and some lime green sparkles. -No…- Franklin whined, falling on his knees. -Oh, Frank… I’m so sorry…- Miriam sighed and kneeled with him, hugging him as he despaired over his broken machine. -Bah, it probably wouldn’t have worked anyway…- huffed Eggman, always the sore loser. But then the sparkles increased and the machine began whirring. -F-Frank? What… What’s it doing?- asked Miriam. Franklin wiped his eyes and looked at his life’s work, gasping as he saw it bounce and whirr louder, as the sparkles continued. -Miriam, leave! I think it’s going to…- BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!! The powerful green explosion enveloped not only the entire room, but also the entire floor. Eggman gasped as , moments before that, he turned on his shield. Sonic tried to save the two, but Silver tackled him down and enveloped them in a psychic shield, which withstood the explosion that took down the entire floor they were on. Once the dust settled and the smoke cleared, Eggman emerged from the rubble on his EggPod. -Jeez, that was close…- he commented, wiping his forehead, then he watched the rubble, hoping that Sonic and Silver took themselves out, but a movement within the debris made him sigh in disappointment, as the two hedgehogs came out, dusty but mostly unscathed. -Cough, cough, cough… Are you okay, Silver?- asked Sonic, looking at his future friend, who wasn’t even paying attention to him, digging through the debris to look for the professor and his wife. -C’mon, c’mon, c’mon…- he preached, hoping to find them. -Don’t just stand there, help me!- he pleaded to Sonic, who nodded and used his speed to clear out most of the debris, until they found the two wolves. Sonic winced, Franklin took the explosion directly which badly burned and injured him, burning off the skin of his muzzle and destroying one of his eyes, yet as Sonic placed his ear on his chest, he felt that he was still alive. Miriam’s body wasn’t as burned since she was behind her husband… But the massive splinters of concrete and steel pipes jammed through her entire body meant that she wasn’t as lucky. -Oh no… She’s… She’s dead, Silver…- Sonic groaned, lowering his ears. Silver took a step back, then turned his head to Eggamn, who looked dull to their demise, clenched his fists and lunged at him, punching hard the energy bubble protecting him. -YOU ANIMAL! YOU SICK, TWISTED ANIMAL! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT YOU JUST DID?!- he roared, punching the bubble until he actually made his knuckles bleed. -Gh! Sonic, put a leash on your friend!- Eggman yelped, but Sonic lifted Franklin’s broken body delicately and just glared at Eggman, a glare that he never gave to his archenemy and it made him flinch. -...Silver, stop. No point trying to teach him a lesson. Let’s take care of doctor Franklin.- he said, sighing. Silver punched a bit more, then he forced himself to stop, spitting on the bubble before he took flight and helped Sonic carry the professor to the hospital. -Tch… Boyscouts…- huffed Eggman as he left. The two hedgehogs flew the professor to a hospital and he was admitted immediately and strapped to a complex machine to help him breathe as the doctors treated his wounds, meanwhile Sonic went to get Miriam’s body to have the doctors do an autopsy on her. Her lawyers were called, they opened her will and in it, she left all the money she had to Franklin and asked to be buried without a coffin in the grasslands, so that her body could nurture the nature around her. -I’ll stay here, check on his progresses.- Silver said to Sonic. -Okay, I’ll go see if I can do anything for the University.- said the blue hero, patting Silver’s shoulder and bolting away. Silver waved at him, then turned to watch Franklin through the glass, placing his hand on the glass and sighing, lowering his ears as he went to sit down. The days flew by, which turned into weeks, which turned into months, and Silver always stayed there, checking on the professor and hating not being able to do more to help him recover. The explosion gave him respiratory difficulties so the doctors had to put a breathing mask on his face to help him breathe and they also covered his sensitive eyes with a pair of special green goggles, which only made Silver somewhat more depressed despite the professor’s body healing quick, aside from a weird Omega-shaped and ominously lime green scar on his chest, separating his upper half from the lower half, which the explosion burned to the point of turning his fur black, all visible whenever they changed his bandages. Silver would stare daily at him intensely, waiting for… something to happen, even if Franklin was being kept sedated. The others would come to keep him company, bringing him food, water and even pillows so he could at least sleep there, since he’d even forget to do so. One night, though, when Tails was with Silver, keeping him distracted by talking to him about science and mechanics, a device in Silver’s bracelet began beeping, causing him to jump up and look through the window, widening his eyes. Tails, bested by curiosity, looked through the window too and gasped: Franklin was levitating! He floated five inches off the bed for ten seconds before he plopped back down and the device on Silver’s cuff stopped beeping, yet he was all but calm as he went to sit down, dejected. It was not the first time it happened in the month, and not even ever since he was hospitalized, only the first time that it lasted more than three seconds, which was all but a good sign. -Silver, what happened? How did professor Franklin float?- asked Tails, he had been one of his students and knew of what a great genius and meek, humble person he was. -...A gravitational event… For ten seconds, in that room, gravity around Franklin just… ceased to exist.- he explained, clenching his fists. -W-What? But that’s impossible!- said Tails, shocked. -You say that to a psychokinetic hedgehog, flying fox who knows a supersonic hedgehog?- Silver asked, raising a brow. -...Okay, fair, but… How is it possible?- Asked Tails. -...Gravitons. I think the explosion of the Reactor imbued him with Gravitons.- said Silver, looking down. -Gravitons? They exist?!- Tails asked, shocked to learn that the hypothetical elementary particle responsible for the transmission of the force of gravity in different theoretical models existed for real. -Of course they do, only that scientists won’t be able to prove until much later in time…- Silver sighed, rubbing his eyelids. -Still, it’s amazing to think that they exist! …Uh, sorry Silver, perhaps you want to sleep… I’ll shut up…- said Tails, giggling embarrassedly. -Yaaaawn… No, no, it’s fine… I need to stay awake… Need to monitor his case…- Silver muttered, clearly on the verge of falling asleep. -Don’t need to. I’ll watch over him, while you sleep.- said Tails, making Silver lean down on the pillow Blaze brought him. -Are you sure? What if something happens?- he asked, though he already pulled over the blanket Blaze also brought, clearly needing to rest. -Hey, I’ve been running around with Sonic, punching gods in the face since I was 6. I think I can handle myself.- replied the twin tailed talent, bumping his chest. -Huh, yeah… Okay then… Yaaaaaaaawn, good night…- Silver yawned again before turning on his side and beginning to snore quietly. Tails giggled silently and sat on another chair, keeping an eye on the window where, behind it, laid professor Franklin. After a few hours Tails huffed and stretched, going to get something strong from the vending machine to keep him awake. Tempted to get some coffee, he opted for a strong black tea, when his ears sprung up, catching the beep from Silver’s gravity detector. He ran back to the window and peered through it, watching as Franklin’s body glowed in an ominous lime green light which wrapped him up and lifted him farther than before and for longer than before, twenty seconds this time, before he was lowered back down on bed. -...Fascinating…- commented the fox taking notes and surprised that Silver stayed asleep, he must’ve been really tired if even that didn’t wake him up. Luckily, no other events happened and, when morning came, tails had left a note with his analysis on the bench for Silver to find when he woke up, stretching since he really needed to rest. Reading the analysis made him gasp though. -Twenty seconds?! Oh no, it’s getting stronger…- he muttered as the doctors came into his room at that moment, ready for the daily procedure of checking him. -Heart beat regular.- said one of the doctors. -Brain activity regular.- said another. -Breathing regular.- said one more. They removed the bandages they wrapped him in with the solution to heal his burn wounds and gasped as they saw that they had healed completely. -He’s healed already? The burn wounds were estimated to take more months to heal…- muttered one of them. Silver bumped on the window, trying to tell them to leave immediately, but they didn’t even notice him as they kept checking him. Suddenly, under his goggles, Franklin’s eyes burst open and that caused a powerful wave of invisible energy to knock everyone in his vicinity away from him, ripping the machines checking him away from him as well as he began floating. -No no NO!!- Silver groaned as he tried to come into the room, but the bodies of the knocked out doctors kept the door shut. He grunted and used a device which allowed him to vibrate fast enough to phase through the wall and inside the room, only to watch the gravitational chaos enfolding. The tiles of the floor lifted and twirled around, the wallpaper began to tear itself off the wall, the machines were all lifted in the air as well, their power cables swung around like tentacles as gravity in the entire room didn’t exist anymore. Silver himself struggled to keep his feet planted on the ground, then he used his powers to pin the doctors to the ground and floated to try and reach him, to snap him out of that power surge. Franklin looked down, seeing Silver and his powers acted up, throwing everything he lifted up at him. Silver gasped and formed a shield to protect himself from the objects thrown at him, he had rested the whole night so his powers were at his peak hence why he could even hang on as he threw the bigger machines at him. -P-PROFESSOR! YOU NEED TO… Urgh… YOU NEED TO WAKE UP!!- Silver shouted, trying to make himself heard by him, but not only he didn’t hear him, he didn’t really see him as well. His powers acted for him, working offensively and defensively as they both kept Silver away, his instincts just telling him that someone was in there and that he needed to keep the intruder away, and protected him from the debris swirling around. Then, he switched strategy, targeting the doctors that Silver’s powers kept on the ground, and he flung the heavy machinery at them. -NO!!- Silver shouted and protected the doctors with his shield, grunting and straining as the impact was hard even for him, draining a bit of his energy with each hit. The professor continued to slam the machinery on Silver’s shield, beginning to crack it with how hard he was hitting it. -Rgh! Franklin, stop it! Please!!- he groaned as he felt the shield crack more and more. Somehow, the wolf flinched and the gravitational disaster ceased, everything he had lifted dropped on the ground with a heavy bang. Silver panted and watched as Franklin burst the ceiling open and flew out of it, leaving him to pant and drop on the ground, exhausted from the effort but still managing to call for cavalry. He knew that, from there on out, things would only get worse. Silver and the doctors, unscathed thanks to the future hero’s shield, were escorted out of the hospital and Silver laid on a wall outside the hospital, holding tightly his hands and gritting his teeth as Sonic and the others arrived. -Dude, you ok?- asked Sonic. -...No… No, I’m not… I couldn’t save him…- Silver muttered, gloomier than usual. Blaze, who came with Sonic, was worried since Silver wasn’t usually this gloomy, so this thing was really serious. -The professor? Why? What happened to him?- asked Sonic. -I can’t tell you. Not here, at least. Call the others, I’ll explain everything once we’re all together.- said Silver, regaining a twinge of his usual determination and flying back to the HQ. Sonic and Blaze looked at each other before the blue hero called Amy to organize a meeting. In the meantime, Franklin flew at blinding speed through the desert between Mazuri and Shamar, stopping in midair in the middle of nowhere and landing in the shadow of a huge rock next to an oasis. Once he did, he looked around confused as if he just realized what happened. -W-What the? W-Where am I? H-How did I get here from the…?- he asked, stuttering scared, then he slowly began to remember: the Gravitronic Reactor, Dr.Eggman, the two heroes, the explosion and… and then nothing, just darkness and silence up until this point. Shakily he went to the oasis, taking out his mask to drink some water, only to then look at his reflection and scaring himself: the flesh of his muzzle was completely gone, leaving only the bones out. His shaky hands removed the glasses and he saw that one of his eyes was gray and traversed by a nasty scar, of course he couldn’t see anything if he closed the good eye he had. His body, while much more toned than before, had been drastically changed by the explosions, he could still see the scars left by the burns. He wore back the mask and goggles and hugged himself: he couldn’t even recognize himself. -W-What have I become? I… I’m a monster…- he whined, then he remembered something that he heard the doctors and the heroes mention while he was in his comatose state: Miriam was dead. He sobbed even more violently, falling on the ground and crying loud. Not only did he lose his old body, he lost his wife and upcoming first born. His entire future was lost in the span of a day. -...Pathetic…- hissed a voice, making him look up through his teary eyes. -H-Huh? Who… Who’s there?- he asked, whimpering and looking around, but he saw no one. -You disgusting freak…- said the voice again, it sounded familiar to him but not enough to recognize it. He looked around, confused and scared. -C-Come out, wherever you are!- he shouted, dragging himself to the pool of water. It was then that, watching his reflection, he saw it move differently than him, even looking more twisted and horrifying. -Hideous… Monstrous…- the reflection said to him, making him gasp. Was he… talking to himself? -We didn’t deserve love… We didn’t deserve a family… We only deserve this… Pain, suffering… Hate…- the voice kept talking, making Franklin grab his head and shake it. -S-Stop it! Stop it, stop it, stop it! It’s not true!- he whined, gritting his teeth under the mask, to which the voice laughed maniacally. -You know it’s true…You always thought it was true… A weak, pathetic, nerdy freak like you with a woman like her? With a family? You always knew it was more than you deserved… You just refused to believe it…- said the other Franklin, curving the edges of his mandibles as if grinning. -NO! SHUT UP! I DON’T BELIEVE YOU!- he yelled at the reflection. -Oh, but you have to… After all, if you can’t trust yourself… Who CAN you trust?- sneered the professor’s other half. -Don’t worry, just let me care for the both of us. I can help you get what you want. Revenge. Sweet, sweet revenge on the monster who took her from us.- hissed the reflection, to which Franklin clenched his fists, causing a few grains of sand to lift in the air. -...Eggman…- he growled slowly. -Him. We can’t let him get away with our wife’s death now, can’t we? It wouldn’t be fair for her…- said the reflection, smirking. -But… But I have n-never killed anyone… I don’t know if I can…- whined Franklin. -M-Maybe… Maybe I can go to the Resistance… Join them… Help them put him behind bars for good…- he then said, getting on his knees. -Those losers? They could’ve saved your wife any time but they didn’t. You can’t trust them. They think you’re deranged. They think you’re a monster as much as you do.- the reflection scoffed. -I don’t have to listen to you.- said Franklin, getting up. -Because I don’t trust you… I don’t trust me being alone with my thoughts.- he sighed, leaving the pond. -You’ll regret this. And when you do, you’ll BEG for revenge!- said the other half of the professor, laughing maniacally. Franklin clenched his fists and swayed his arm towards the lake, causing a sudden burst of energy which shot the water upwards only to rain back down, shutting the voice for now. He gasped and looked at his arm, up until this moment he didn’t even ask himself how he got here. -...How did I do that?- he asked, then he shook his head. -The Resistance… They will tell me everything…- he huffed, beginning to walk, only for him to begin floating almost without thinking. -Woah!- he yelped as he twirled in the air before returning vertical. -This is… Interesting…- he said, then he relaxed, closed his eyes and breathed, causing him to gain altitude. -Gah! Too high! Too high!- he groaned, to which he lowered himself enough. -Huff… Gotta remember I’m scared of heights when using this thing… Now… To the Resistance’s HQ!- he said, his determination propelled him forward at great speed. -HHGGHH…- he gritted his teeth but hung on, knowing that he needed to get there as quickly as possible before the other one began to act up again, but he also kinda enjoyed being able to fly as fast as Sonic ran. Back at the Resistance, now the Restoration,‘s HQ, Silver waited for everyone to gather around him, sitting on the reunion table. Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, Omega, Blaze and the Chaotix didn’t take much to come into the main room, surrounding Silver. -Thank you for coming with such little warning. I trust you all know what happened a few months ago to professor Franklin of the GRUMP…- he said, lowering his ears as he mentioned his name. Everyone nodded, so he huffed in relief, not feeling like reliving that scarring moment. -Okay, so… Professor Franklin has escaped from the hospital this morning, using some sort of gravity-based power.- he said, making all who weren't informed about the escape gasp. -So, this guy can now… control gravity?- asked Shadow. -Yes.- said Silver. -Because of the explosion of a… Was it called… a Gravitronic Reactor?- asked Rouge. -Yes.- Silver repeated. -That looks like a supervillain origin story from an 80’s comic book…- said Vector, rolling his eyes. Espio glared and nudged him but Silver sighed again. -You have no idea how close to the truth you are, Vector… About the supervillain part…- said the future hedgehog. -Wait, this guy… is a supervillain?- asked Sonic. -Will be, but yes.- Silver nodded. -Not Professor Franklin! He’s one of the meekest, humblest professors in the University’s history! He can’t be a villain!- groaned Tails. -I wish it was true…- sighed the future hero. -I met him countless times back in my time period and I had to fight him in every single encounter, to prevent him from turning the world into an even more barren wasteland than it already was.- he narrated. -Wait, so he lives for 200 years?!- asked Sonic gasping. -Yes. But immortality and eternal youth isn’t the only gift that explosion gave him. You can’t even begin to imagine the potential for total destruction he will get in the future. He will be able to lift and move continents, mess with the very fabric of gravity in ways you can’t even think… The complete havoc and chaos he will be able to wreak has granted him a moniker from the Future Police’s agents and the New G.U.N’s men… Entropy.- said Silver, lowering his ears as he remembered their encounters. -Jeez…- said Rouge, folding her arms. -And… And this guy is now free in our timeline?!- asked Amy, shocked. -Relax, Amy. We will find him and stop him before we do. I mean, we have a guy who has literally fought him in the future a lot of times, right? Silver is our trump card. We got this!- said Knuckles, slamming his fists. -Hold your horses. Me having fought him doesn’t mean I have won against him. Each time we faced each other, it would end with him fleeing because he’d get bored of the, and I quote him, “weak resistance I’d offer”. But that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped trying my best to take him down.- said the young hedgehog, getting off the table he sat on. -He’s not at his peak power yet and records show that, after the incident, he laid low for a while, possibly to train his newfound powers, so maybe we have a chance to neutralize him before his full turn to the dark side.- said Silver, clenching his fists. -Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go get this Entropy dude and take him down!- said Sonic, already bolting to the front door. -Sonic, wait, we need a s…- Silver stopped talking as Sonic opened the door, finding Franklin in front of them. -M-Mister Sonic… F-Friends of Sonic… I need your help…- he groaned in front of the shocked group of friends. To be Continued…
