Suddenly a chunk of rocky ground exploded and a human hand got out of it. It grasped the ground and pulled out the human body attached to it. The man got up and dusted off the black and yellow suit he was wearing, smoothing his grey mustache, awfully similar to Eggman's “Truly a… Fascinating experience. However I don't think I will repeat it anymore…” he said fixing his glasses “Okay, summing up: I woke up in a weird capsule, therefore I must be some kind of clone. Then I made this realization, therefore my IQ must be surprisingly high. Then I found these clothes and a laptop. As soon as I got dressed the earth started shaking. I hid in a hole waiting for it to stop. As it stopped I got out saving the laptop for some reason…” he lucubrated in a verbose way, looking at the portable computer. He turned it on and saw Eggman's face “Must be my original…” said the clone “Eh-ehm… Dear son, if you're watching this, it means that I'm dead, either naturally or because someone killed me. Anyway, it doesn’t matter, because you are alive! Let me tell you how it went…” Eggman's voice croaked as he told his clone about the world (of course saying that Robotniks were heroes and Mobians were criminals) until he told about what happened five years ago, while the clone listened, fascinated.\n\n“…After creating Robotnikatraz and after filling it with Mobians, I started a secret project, secret to even my new right hand, Project Nega a.k.a. you! Using a new gen cloning technology, I gathered my DNA and that of my greatest foes: Sonic's speed, Tails's intellect, Knuckles’s brute strength and Amy's agility. By combining these 5 DNA's I was able to create a real science miracle: you! You, my son, are the last Robotnik, the last of a glorious bloodline of scientists, inventors and conquerors! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!”.\n\nFrom that day, which Mobians called “Freedom Day”, ten years passed. During that time Sonic was elected king of Mobians with Amy as his queen and Shadow as his viceroy. Sonic and Amy’s wedding was celebrated right the day before the crowning. Sonic rebuilt the cities Eggman destroyed and created a new Mobian megalopolis called Freedom City, completely designed and built by Tails and Knuckles, who were made Court Inventor and Supreme Guardian. Sonic's kingdom was one of the most florid South Island never had and the hedgehog kept good contacts with the new human president, Abraham Towers. A year after being crowned, Sonic and Amy had two kids, Martin and Sarah. The two princes were really loved by the people and Shadow and Maria, who married after Sonic and Amy, helped with their instruction. Sadly, Nega was improving as well: in just ten years he had rebuild most of Eggman's armada, even making it better, and he also trained himself: his unique genetic combination made it so that he had all the abilities of his donors. The super speed, strength, intelligence and agility flowed within him, who trained his body until he actually surpassed the limits he had, becoming stronger and faster as he thought about his revenge. He knew that he had to wait the right moment. And that moment arrived…\n\nSonic and his family were on their way to the hills for a picnic and insisted to not be escorted there. That, Nega thought as he spied on them, was a big mistake. The scientist gracefully jumped down the tree where he was hidden and dashed to the hills, preceding them. He knew where they'd stop for their monthly outing since he spied on them for ten years. As the bad guy predicted, the four stopped on a sunny open space with a huge rock throwing some shade to the valley. The perfect spot, thought the doctor rubbing his hands together. Sonic laid down the plaid and Amy set everything for the picnic while the two princes happily played on the fresh grass “Kids, don't get too far!” said Amy “Honey, let them play. What could go wrong?” Sonic sighed laying down and the pink hedgehog smiled at him. She couldn’t believe it to be true: after years spent chasing him and now they were married! And with kids! Nothing can go wrong, she thought sitting next to him and kissing his cheek “Aw, how cute… What a shame…” Nega giggled as he climbed the rock and tore a piece of it. He made sure that it didn't slipped and waited. He watched them as they played, having fun and then ate. It was then that Sonic turned his head to look at the sky. His breath died in his throat as soon as he saw Nega watching them. For a few, endless seconds Sonic looked frozen as Nega watched him with a smirk. Then the clone got up and lifted the rock, making Sonic snapping back to reality and yelled to his family “LEAVE!! ALL OF YOU!!”. The three, confused and a bit scared, got away but as Sonic tried to join them he tragically tripped. That was the perfect time! Nega threw the rock with all his strength, making it crash against Sonic. A cloud of dust and debris lifted from the point of impact while Amy and the kids watched, powerless, the scene. When the dust settled, Amy ran with the kids to the impact zone. The rock lied there, half buried in the ground and with slight cracks at the base. Sonic was nowhere to be found. Amy covered her mouth and fell to her knees while the kids zoomed around, calling for their dad. No one answered. The princes came back “Mommy? W-where's daddy?” asked Martin, shivering. Only then Amy burst into tears: in a second she lost the man of her life! All because of what seemed a rock slide! “Mom?” asked Sarah “That's the evil man dad talked us about…” she said pointing at the bigger rock. Amy uncovered her eyes and saw him. Nega towered over them, laughing maniacally, then he jumped and landed in front of them. Quivering in fear, Amy took the kids and ran away. Nega smirked and headed for the ruins “This is gonna be fun…” he chuckled\n\nThat was the beginning of the end\n\nThe following years were the most gloom and desperate Mobius ever saw. Nega terrorized humans and Mobians for decades, even perfecting a rejuvenating chamber to continue and live forever. Sonic's funerals were quick but filled with tears. Amy died of sorrow a few weeks after. With death in their heart and tears in their eyes, Shadow and Maria took Sonic and Amy’s place as governors until the princes would turn eighteen. Disgracefully the two, seeking revenge, went out of the castle to take on Nega’s fortress. Both never returned… Shadow decided to strengthen their army to avoid Nega's assaults and managed to keep a steady stalemate for the next decades. The two Ultimate Lifeforms's immortality allowed them to see the ups and downs of their kingdom. They saw the natural deaths of their old friends and the fantastic results of the rookies who came in and out as time went by. Not sure if he could procreate, Shadow used the best genetic technology of the time to give Maria a son, Brass the Hedgehog. The new prince brought a light of hope between Mobians and brought back happiness in the castle, especially for Maria who always wanted a son.\n\nThen, three years later, the miracle! Maria was naturally pregnant! Shadow was literally exploding in joy. According to tests, being both Ultimate Lifeforms, Shadow and Maria could only procreate between themselves.
