No God grants their favor without cost. All the more so for the Living Gods; their bodies physical, yet their sustenance is spiritual, and they require much more intimate offerings to persist, protect and guide their followers.
Kaaxhe Vas Iya does not give her blessings without something in return. In addition to worship and material offerings, every season Kaaxhe demands "sacrifices". People, living an breathing.
Every season, those chosen make their pilgrimage to Kaaxhe's temple in the mountains, only to return some weeks later, healthy as can be. Yet they remember nothing of their time, their memories wiped clean of the event.
Some volunteer out of a sense of duty, some piety, other curiosity, believing themselves to be the one to bring back the truth of what transpires during this ritual. As they reach the temple gates-- an elaborate stone archway leading into a damp cave-- they are greeted by a pair of kobolds; servants of Kaaxhe, most likely. They guide the "sacrifices" deeper and deeper into the mountain.
The Sacrifices' trek into the mountain's depths was cut short, when the muffled screams of one of their own called the groups attention towards their rear-- a Dragon towered over the group, with a pair of kicking feet poking out of her gaping mouth. The Dragon arched it's head back, and with a loud "gulp" the outline of it's prey sank down the Dragon's throat. The Dragon licked it's lips, and with a booming yet feminine voice, mused "Delicious."
Before anyone could react, a swarm of ethereal tendrils sprang out from the Dragon's back, and quickly subdued her soon-to-be meals. One-by-one, the tendrils gently guided the offerings past the Dragon's teeth and into her throat, even as they squirmed, shouted and pleaded. Each one she rested on the edge of her gullet, freedom just outside of reach. After taunting them enough, Dragon would close her jaw and arch her head back, causing the prey to sink down into the Dragon's slippery depths.
Inside her stomach, her supposed prey was still unharmed. Many were overcome by fatigue and fell asleep, others overcome with arousal. Some few resisted the spell that had seemingly been cast on them, and struggled as much as they could before they succumbed to either lust or fatigue. Their terror, their lust, and their dreams and memories nourished the dragon... as was their roles as "sacrifices" to Kaaxhe Vas Iya; the dragon whose belly they now resided.
Throughout the event, the Kobold pair showed no fear. Quite contrary, their faces were flushed with lust as they massaged and stroked the dragon's belly and throat as she swallowed person after person. After the last offering slid down her throat, Kaaxhe gazed upon her servants, whom were kneeling side-by-side before her, a pleading look in their eyes. She grinned and licked her lips. She still had room for more...
