Our world is the intersection where time and space exist together. Wherever we go, no matter what we do, we remain constant on this grid, where either space or time will catch up to us. In the void of space where time does not exist, everything else does. All manner of creature, alive and dead, all manner of life exists at once. A tree exists as a seed and sprout, and with both a crown full of leaves and devoid of them at the same time. An animal is both the single-celled organism it grew from and its adult counterpart. Time does not exist, and therefore they all are constant. Frozen in motion, like a photograph. It is a grotesque world, to be sure, but it exists only to those that escape the boundaries of time. However, no being can exist in this land without time. There are those that can teleport for instantaneous travel that scrape against this realm, but none are even aware of its existence, aside from the Palkia that claim this world as their own. There is, however, a perpendicular plane that does see travel: that of the plane of time. A multi-colored world where all time exists as one along a set path, every being that exists at a certain point of time is represented by a flame, a soul that burns fiercely until its light is snuffed out. They exist like this because their physical forms exist in space, and this realm has no space for physical forms to exist. Two such beings - species - have been noted to traverse this plane: Dialga, who ensures the progress of time flows without end, and Celebi, a freeform spirit that can travel to whatever time it feels like. The passage of time is not one to mess with easily, and both have to conform to rules that even they may not know about. For one, they are allowed to keep their forms as they enter here, but their sight is limited and their trajectory cannot be changed easily. From within the strand of the current timeline, a ball of light emerges from it and shows itself to be a Celebi, heading back in time. A second ball of light emerges right behind it. This second being is faster, and catches up to the first Celebi. But...isn't it a Celebi itself? And...wait, what happens if two being clash in this realm? The colors distort. Static plays. The Celebi shrieks in pain as the mere touching of its body by this first being causes time to warp around them, fusing them together as one and stopping time for them altogether, the two neither falling towards the timeline nor moving away. Above, a Dialga watches. A seer of all things that happens in the course of time, they are both blessed and cursed with knowledge of past and future events to come. However, even a Dialga cannot know what will happen outside of the timeline, and Celebi often rewrite history themselves. To say the two species share animosity towards one another would be an understatement. Yet, with these two being causing time to tear where they met, this Dialga cannot ignore the pressing need for action, lest the main timeline be affected. "Yes...I see. The first one here was chased, and this second followed them...but they are not a Celebi, are they? It is too late now to tell..." The Dialga looks over the two, still and statuesque. Out of the many remedies for this, their destruction would be the most immediately satisfactory course, though that would mean the Celebi would be forfeit. To preserve the life of the Celebi would require a much more delicate approach. Arceus could be called in to help, but by then the timeline would be tainted by their remaining outside of it. The one thing Dialga could do, however... "I am sorry, travelers...I must right this wrong. Whatever the cost may be, the timeline cannot suffer." Rearing its head up, the Dialga takes a deep breath. It brings its head down after a moment, and with its mouth agape, it releases a beam that pierces through the Celebi, the being fused with it, and the timeline, leaving a swirling vortex that desperately tries to fix itself. Time rewrites itself. Both the Celebi and the person that followed through with it are separated into body and soul, with the bodies being quickly flung back into the hole in time that was created. The flames, pushed by the beam, follow them, although lagging as they remained for longer. The red flame of the separate being was flung farther away, as was its body. The green flame of the Celebi was more resilient to the beam, owing to its time-travelling abilities, and it flickered in place, wanting to thank the Dialga for helping them before letting itself be affixed to the timeline once more. A slideshow of images detailing the Celebi's life flashed before the Dialga as its beam petered out, and the timeline resumed its linear fashion with the green flame firmly reattached. Its constant burning is a sign the Celebi still yet lives. "Galiana...this trial is yours and yours alone. This was the only way I could save you...forgive me."
