“Lovers’ Rest”

Onja had visited Mahavelona several times before, but never with a photographer in tow. Ando times insisted before, on stopping every dozen meters, having found another place for good photos. Mijoro had protested at first, but the short ring-tailed lemur would not relent. “I need more pieces for my portfolio,” he decreed, “and so do you.”
And so the four of them had spent the better part of the day roaming the seaside resort town. Ando would find yet another great spot for a photo shoot, grab yet another camera from the gear bag he’d made Rija carry around, and make Mijoro pose and look attractive for the viewer. Onja, as far as he was concerned, felt more and more like a tricycle’s fourth wheel.
Thankfully, Rija’s stomach soon came to his rescue. The muscular lemur declared in no uncertain terms that he needed food soon, and countered Ando’s protests by grabbing him and carrying him away like a petulant child.
They were soon back at the hotel—the main building near the front gate serving as a dining hall, and half a dozen bungalows surrounding a large grass-covered backyard that opened directly on the beach beyond. Rija dropped Ando near the front gate and disappeared into the main building to order a late lunch.
Ando first goaded Mijoro into taking a few more photos in the backyard and on the beach just beyond, but then Rija was back with the news that their food would take almost one hour to get ready. He didn’t want to wait that long and wanted to head a bit farther on the beach to grab some snacks.
Ando started declining, explaining that snacks before lunch would spoil lunch for him, but Rija cut off the attempt with a glare. The smaller lemur let out a theatrical sigh and declared that he might as well come and take photos of the beach-side snack huts and their occupants.
Rija asked Mijoro and Onja if they wanted to come too, but Mijoro said he wanted to go take some rest before lunch.
Onja frowned. Rest, already? It was barely the middle of the afternoon.
But then he saw Mijoro’s wink and felt the heat rush to his face and his loins. Oooh, right—“rest”.
Rija also saw the wink and rolled his eyes. “All right, you two. Go ‘rest’ if you wish.” He shook a finger at them. “But I’m warning y’all: the moment lunch is served, I’ll be on it without waiting for anyone, so don’t take too long or you’ll find that I ate your share too.”
Mijoro chuckled and gently pushed Onja towards the bungalow the two of them would share for the rest of their stay. The larger fosa’s clothes started coming off before they were even through the door. Another few seconds more and the two of them were on the bed, muzzles locked with each other, hands exploring each other’s bodies.
Soon enough, Onja didn’t mind anymore that they’d lost the entire morning to Ando’s photographer antics. Mijoro lay under him, whispering affectionate words to him, gently guiding his movements. It didn’t take long before Onja felt the oncoming rush. He tried to hold it back as much as he could, but then he heard Mijoro whisper his favorite words: “I love you.”
Onja tried to say those words back. He truly did.
He could barely get the first syllable out before his body expressed the feeling in his stead, his attempted declaration dissolving into one glorious, wordless wave of pleasure.
