"writing": "Chapter 47: Friday’s Friday\n\nRachel goes about the room, stuffing her small duffle bag with her bathing suit and a towel.\n\n“How much money you have?”, Rachel R, asks of her namesake.\n\n“Fifteen dollars, five for Fernando, five for me and five for Jorge, but now he’s not going to see that money.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“How much you have saved up?”, Rachel R. asks further.\n\n“About $200, but that’s for a present I’m saving for Fernando.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Nothing for yourself?”, Rachel R. asks,\n\n“I have some emergency money for just in case.”, Rachel answers then asks, “What are you getting at?”\n\n“Just asking.”, Rachel R. answers, asking, “Where are we going to go?”\n\n“I don’t know. The pool for a while. Then maybe something to eat at the mall.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Nothing exciting to do around here?”, Rachel R. asks.\n\n“Everything close at 10PM in this place. I heard there is a curfew here but never seen anything about it. This place is dead at times, I swear.”, Rachel answers, adding some brutal honesty at the end.\n\n“How do you feel?”, Grace throws in before Rachel R. could.\n\n“What do you mean?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“I mean, you know. Being raped by Jorge, not allowed to getting him in trouble and all that stuff.”, Grace adds.\n\n“Sad and angry that I cant do nothing about it. But what can I do? I wish I had Cathy’s Anti-Rape device in me when it happened.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Is it going to bother you?”, Wandaline asks before the others could.\n\n“I don’t know. I have to try not to let it bother me.” Rachel answers before being interrupted.\n\n“Like the other times you were raped, you don’t try to let it bother you.”, Rachel R. comments.\n\n“The past is the past, and today will become yesterday and this will become the past too. But I need to not let it bother me for him. If he finds out that Jorge raped me, he will kill him. And then what? I lose him.”, Rachel explains.\n\n“But when Jorge gets turned into a girl, he’ll know something happened.”, Grace says.\n\nRachel sighs before replying, “I will deal with it when it happens. Until then, its getting uncomfortable talking about this.”\n\n“Uhm..., Rachel?”, Wandaline tries to call her.\n\n“What if I can turn you back to before you were raped, and make you forget it?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“I cant do that.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Why not?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“If you turn me back, I would not know that Jorge raped me and he could rape me again and I would not know that he raped me before, making it more of a problem than it is.”, Rachel explains.\n\n“OK...”, Wandaline replies.\n\n“Seriously, what were you thinking?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“It’s a Virgin Recall Spell, where the girl who was raped can be restored her virginity and made to forget the attack so she can live like she did before.”, Wandaline explains.\n\n“Wait a minute!”, Grace turns to her, “There’s a spell to return a girls virgin state if she’s been sexually active?”\n\n“Well, that’s another spell. But this spell only works if she was virgin before to restore her virginity if she was raped. If she was not a virgin at the time of the rape, it erases the rape to the state she was before being raped, including any memories of it.”, Wandaline explains.\n\n“And that’s a problem. If I am made to forget the rape, Jorge can do it again without me feeling threatened until it happens. Now I know he can because he did...”, Rachel explains.\n\n“What about the other Virgin Restore one?”, Grace asks.\n\n“That’s for extreme cases like demonic possession or slavery and cases like that, where a girl is forced or manipulated into sex over a long period of time and she is brought back to the family. But for a girl who was sexually active on her own, there is nothing for that.”, Wandaline explains.\n\n“What if that spell is used on a girl who is sexually active, wont it restore her virginity?”, Grace asks.\n\n“It does. The problem is taking her out of the situation she is in. If she was in a sexual relationship with a boyfriend, the sex in the relationship will continue and the spell wasted. That is why it is not used in this case.”, Wandaline explains.\n\n“Damn...”, Grace says to herself.\n\n“What were you thinking, Grace?”, Rachel R asks suspiciously.\n\n“Wandaline, can I ask a question?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“You can ask anything, as long as it does not hurt anyone.”, Wandaline replies.\n\n“Were you using birth control when you were practicing making babies with my brother?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“Birth control?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“You know – medications or devices to keep you from getting pregnant?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“The Pill, The Shot, a Condom...”, Rachel R throws in.\n\n“Well, no. But my period has been regular, right after every mating season on time and we did it half a year before that.”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“Hello! Spontaneous Pregnancy! It can and does happen!”, Rachel leans towards her, almost wanting to rap her knuckles on Wandaline’s forehead!\n\n“Well, I was lucky.”, Wandaline tries to answer.\n\n“Actually, its one in a ten-million chance but it does happen. Its better to get your birth control as soon as possible so your body becomes used too it and you get your period regularly right after mating season.”, Rachel R. explains.\n\n“And you two?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“I’ll ask his doctor when I see her tomorrow.”, Grace answers.\n\n“And you?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“I’ll check on the options before deciding.”, Rachel R. answers.\n\n“Finally you, Wandaline? I don’t want my brother to be a father at 14.”, Rachel asks.\n\n“Alright. I’ll get some kind of birth control.”, Wandaline says in defeat.\n\n“Lets get out of here before I throw you all out and join him in a nap.”, Rachel says as she picks up her bag.\n\nAs the others get up, Rachel goes over to her brother and gives him a kiss on the forehead.\nReturning to the girls at the door, they just look at her.\n\n“Most brothers and sisters don’t do that.”, Rachel R. complains.\n\n“Most brothers and sisters don’t love each other to the extent where they have sex to show that love.”, Rachel replies in an annoyed tone as she grab the door knob.\n\nThe door opens and they step out into the hall, finding the place quiet. Going down the stairs they find out why, Grandmother and Dr. Leary had already left.\n\nThinking nothing of it, Rachel leads the girls out the door and outside the front gate of the fence. She looks at the three of them.\n\n“Go get your swimming stuff together and I’ll wait outside.”, Rachel tells them.\n\n“But maybe I don’t want to go swimming.”, Wandaline complains.\n\n“‘Maybe I don’t want to go swimming...’ Oh shut up and go get them. Maybe we can check out the local competition and what they have for boyfriends.”, Rachel R. tells her, pushing Wandaline towards her gate a few feet away.\n\n“I’ll be back in a few minutes.”, Grace says as she crosses the street.\n\nRachel waited longer than expected, probably because the girls put on their bikinis under their clothes. As she waited Edna, Cynthia and Laura approached her.\n\n“Hi!”, Edna steps up to her waving her hand.\n\n“Hi Edna.”, Rachel greeted her.\n\n“What are you doing out here?”, Cynthia asks.\n\n“Just waiting for a few friends to show up.”, Rachel asks.\n\n“Well, if you like, Soccer try outs are on this weekend. I would like you to be on the team.”, Cynthia tells her.\n\n“Cheerleading tryouts are also going as well. I would like you to be on the squad too.”, Laura explains.\n\n“Well, I cant do it. Too much to do, no time to do it, if you know what I mean.”, Rachel says.\n\n“Well, if its taking care of your blind brother, I’m sure arrangements can be made for him. He can hang out with Edward and Pokeinfo during practice!”, Edna states with much more than needed exuberance.\n\n“I’ll think about it and discuss it with him.”, Rachel replies though not wanting too.\n\n“You know who these new squirrels are?”, Laura asks, “I hear they all came from New York City.”\n\n“I know them.”, Rachel answers not wanting to give anymore information.\n\n“Well...”, Laura says in demand of such information.\n\n“I just know them. That’s all.”, Rachel says to her.\n\n“Are they nice? Are there any boys? Are they the same age as us?”, Laura shoots the questions one after another.\n\n“They’re all girls and they are older girls like my brother as far as I know.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Come on, lets go before we’re late for practice.”, Cynthia says, trying to get the girls going to the sports field.\n\n“Alright, let me know if you change your mind!”, Edna says out loud as Cynthia takes her by the wrist and hauls her away. Laura follows, leaving Rachel beside herself once again.\n\nRachel R. comes out first, making her way to Rachel who has not moved from her spot. Grace leaves her house as soon as the 2 Rachels get together.\n\n“Who was that?”, Grace asks.\n\n“Who you talking about?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“The vixen, bunny girl and squirrel girl that were talking to you? Saw it all out my window.”, Grace asks and then explains.\n\n“They’re all friends. The vixen is Edna, she lives over there.”, Rachel points out to a house across the street from them further down the block. “The bunny girl is Cynhia. She’s been wanting me to join the soccer team for some reason. The squirrel girl is Laura, she wants me to try out for the cheerleaders.”\n\n“You, in the cheerleaders? I cant see it.”, Rachel R. holds back from laughing.\n\n“You can come home and show Fernando your Pom Poms.”, Grace adds.\n\n“Ha ha... I already shown Fernando my pom poms, and where he can score a goal. OK?”, Rachel tells them.\n\n“Ooo...”, they both go.\n\n“Oh shut up. I know you two have showed him your pom poms and where he can score a goal.” Rachel tells them.\n\n“Its been a while since Fernando scored a goal with my pom poms.”, Grace says.\n\n“Grace!”, Rachel R. holds back from yelling at her.\n\n“Its been a while, you know.”, Grace complains to Rachel R.\n\n“You make it sound like its mating season and you’re in heat to have his puppies!”, Rachel R. continues complaining.\n\n“Maybe I am in heat for Fernando, but so are you too! I’m just saying that I would love a chance with him if I could right now.”, Grace explains it to her.\n\n“No way that is going to happen. He’s going to be out for the rest of the day.”, Rachel explains.\n\n“I know.”, Grace almost pouts. \n\n“Maybe you should go home and get a date with Robert Palmer or any of his 5 friends.”, Rachel R. throws at Grace.\n\n“Robert Palmer and his friends are not worth it. They cant do the job like Fernando can.”, Grace argues back.\n\n“Robert Palmer?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“You know Robert Palmer...”, Rachel R. says as she shows her hand, wiggling in her fingers before curling them up except for her middle finger which is extended and she makes a couple of thrusting motion with it.\n\n“Oh... Uhm... nevermind all that. I swear the both of you’s are so horny I can smell the both of you creaming your panties here and now.”, Rachel says, “Speaking of horny, where’s Wandaline.”\n\n“I don’t know.”, Grace answers as all three look at Wandaline’s house.\n\n“We’re going in to see what is going on.”, Rachel says, almost orders.\n\n“Yeah, do that... Now wait a minute! What do you mean we?!!”, Grace says and then suddenly asks.\n\n“Come on Rachel, drag her along.”, Rachel says as she walks to the gate for Wanaline’s house.\n\n“With pleasure.”, Rachel R. replies as she takes Grace by her wrist and follows Rachel.\n\nTogether the three walks through the gate, and to the front door. Rachel reaches for the doorbell but it rings before she touches it. The door opens, revealing a taller than expected female white squirrel in a black hooded robe looking down at them.\n\n“You three here for Wandaline?”, she asks.\n\nAll being bit nervous, Rachel gets the courage to answer, “Yes we are. You’re Wandaline’s mother?”\n\nShe nods for an answer. “Come inside. I have a few questions to ask.”, she tells them, stepping back against the wall and holding the door open.\n\nThe three of them walk into house, she points to a set of seats for them to sit down around a table. She joins them without sitting down before dropping a dark grey bikini on the table.\n\n“Where did she get this?”, Wandaline’s mother asks.\n\n“She bought that yesterday for us to go to the pool. We recommended to get a 2-piece to make it easier to change in and out of instead of a 1-piece.”, Rachel R. says.\n\n“You can back that up?”, Wandaline’s mother asks Rachel.\n\n“I was not there when they bought it. I was already at the pool with my brother.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“We told her not to get anything too revealing like those string bikinis. We all basically got the same thing in different colors.”, Grace says.\n\n“I see.”, Wandaline’s mother says, “I don’t want my little girl flaunting her body like some floozy on Play Squirrel Magazine.”\n\n“None of us is doing that, especially Wandaline.”, Rachel tries to defend them.\n\n“I sense truth in your words little one.”, Wandaline’s mother says. “Before I let her go, show me yours.”\n\n“I don’t have a 2-piece like they have. I have a 1-piece from last year. It’s a little tight but it still fits.”, Rachel says as she pulls her bathing suit from her bag. Wandaline’s mother signals her to stop, as 1/2 of the bathing suit is pulled out from her bag.\n\n“You two, lets see them.”, Wandaline’s mother almost demands.\n\n“I’m wearing mine.”, Grace tries to get out of it.\n\n“So am I.”, Rachel R. says as she gets up and starts undoing her blouse. A few seconds later she stands in front of Wandaline’s mother in her bikini. She hand signals to Grace to do the same as fast as possible.\n\nGrace takes longer than Rachel R. did to take off her clothes, but does eventually. Wandaline’s mother walks around them, inspecting the, from top to bottom with a discerning eye. Then she stops behind them after a third walk around.\n\n“You girls interested in boys?”, Wandaline’s mother asks.\n\n“Its natural to be interested in boys. I do.”, Rachel says from her seat.\n\n“Hmph...”, Wandaline’s mother says to herself, adding in a louder tone, “Interested in boyfriends, touching, feeling, making out, having sex?”\n\n“Like I said before, its normal to be interested in those things, especially at our age. But I can vouch for them all that they are virgins, I am not.”, Rachel tells her.\n\n“I know all about your unpleasant history, girl. But your honesty is something I want Wandaline to learn. She is a growing girl, and I do not want her to get into trouble and then lie about it.”, Wandaline mother’s explains.\n\n“Look, we’re not out there teasing boys and trying to show skin. We’re not like that at all.”, Grace explains.\n\n“I like her brother a lot but I’m not going to be dropping my panties for him. I want to get married with an education and a career first before I have babies.”, Rachel R. adds.\n\n“And I a Law Enforcement Officer or Teacher.”, Grace throws in.\n\n“We hang out together, and we are not going to let boys trying to get us.”, Rachel throws in.\n\nWandaline’s mother thinks for a while before slowly going around again to the table. She picks up Wandaline’s bikini and looks at Rachel R. and Grace.\n\n“Put your clothes on. I need to have a talk with my daughter.”, Wandaline’s mother says before walking away.\n\n“What was that about?”, Grace asks as soon as Wandaline’s mother disappears in her daughter’s room.\n\n“Maybe she’s old fashion.”, Rachel R. says as she puts on her blouse.\n\n“Well, I hope she is not in too much trouble.”, Rachel adds.\n\n“Yeah.”, Grace replies.\n\n“I can understand what she’s thinking. A bikini looks like a bra and panty underwear set to some people, and she being old fashion thinks the same way.”, Rachel explains.\n\n“Its not that...”, Wandaline says from the hall approaching them, “She thinks I’m too young for these things.”, holding out her bikini panty with both hands while the bikini bra crumpled up in her right hand. She sits at the table and put them into the small duffle bag she had over her shoulder.\n\n“So, is she letting you go?”, Grace asks.\n\n“For now. As long as I behave.”, Wandaline says.\n\n“But you always been a good girl.”, Rachel R. says, seeing Wandaline’s mother from the corner of her eye.\n\n“I know. But she thinks its not good enough.”, Wandaline says in the verge of tears she is holding back.\n\n“Now that you are here, we can go.”, Grace says to try to make a quick exit.\n\n“I do have to tell her that Grandmother want to speak to her about Jorge.”, Rachel explains, “You three can wait for me outside.”\n\n“Alright, lets go.”, Grace says, slowly getting up from the table.\n\n“No, we wait for her right here.”, Rachel R. almost demands.\n\n“But...”, Grace tries to interject.\n\n“No butts.”, Rachel R. throws at her. “This involves all of us...”\n\n“What does she wants to talk to me about?”, Wandaline’s mother comes out from the shadows in the hallway.\n\n“I don’t know the exact details but it involves the other brother, Jorge. I don’t think she is there now but she’s usually home from food shopping around 2 – 3 in the afternoon.”, Rachel explains.\n\n“I see.”, Wandaline’s mother says, “I will wait and see her then. And Wandaline...”\n\n“Yes mother?”, Wandaline replies in question.\n\n“I expect you to be at your best behavior out there.”, Wandaline’s mother tells her.\n\n“I will...”, Wandaline replies in defeat to her mother’s authority.\n\n“Can we go now?”, Grace complains.\n\n“What’s your hurry?”, Rachel R. complains right back.\n\n“I’m getting hungry. That’s what.”, Grace throws at her.\n\n“Well, Sonia and Bart’s is not leaving the mall anytime soon.”, Rachel R. throws back at her as a reminder.\n\n“Sonia and Bart?”, Wandaline’s mother asks.\n\n“It’s a restaurant that used to be down the street, but then moved to the mall. They serve everything but Spanish food.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Well, maybe we can fix that one day.”, Wandaline’s mother says.\n\n“Mother...”, Wandaline says in frustration.\n\n“What is it, dear?”, Wandaline’s mother asks.\n\n“Don’t go there and get a job cooking Spanish food.”, Wandaline tells her, “It would be embarrassing.”\n\n“I will do what I have to do to support this family – that means you and me – so that we have a home to live in, food to eat and clothes to wear. We’re not a welfare family, we don’t need the state to be supporting us when we can support ourselves.”, Wandaline’s mother tells her, “Now if they would like to support this growing Spanish community that we are, then maybe I can send them a couple of recipes.”\n\n“Alright, lets go before the lunchtime specials are over.”, Grace says holds back from complaining too much.\n\n“I don’t know how you do it, Grace. To eat so much and stay skinny as you are.”, Rachel says as she gets up from her seat, “Remember, the all you can eat buffet does not mean you can stay there for four hours and eat everything!”\n\nThe girls except for Grace were laughing as they got and head to the door. With salutations being said, the girls continue on their way and turn down the block to head to the mall. Arriving at the far corner, the girls check for traffic though the streets were already clear.\n\n“Hey! Wait up!”, a voice calls to them, making them wait longer. Turning around they find Juanita trotting up behind them, and Mary with Tonya walking behind her. They wait for them to catch up.\n\n“Where are we going?”, Juanita asks.\n\n“Where’s Fernando?”, Mary asks.\n\n“Why are you late? And where’s the twin bitches?”, Rachel tells them sternly. “You all were supposed to be at my place at 9o’clock, and its almost 12 now.”\n\n“Its not even 11:30 yet!”, Mary throws back at her.\n\n“So!”, Rachel tells her.\n\n“Sew the holes in your pantyhose – you bitch!”, Mary says outload.\n\nRachel turns around from about to crossing the street to face Mary. “What was that?”, she asks.\n\n“You heard me.”, Mary tells her.\n\nRachel tightly curls her index finger against her thumb. “Then hear this...”, Rachel raises her hand at Mary’s chest and plucks her finger hard against Mary’s nipple whose impression can be seen through her t-shirt.\n\nMary clutches at her breast, doubling over in pain. “You Damn Bitch! I’m going to get you!”, she yells. Juanita and Tonya grab onto her elbows when she tried to charge at Rachel. Grace and Rachel R. grab on to Rachel as she reached for her spray can of mace, Wandaline in between the two combatants.\n\n“Come on bitch! I’ll let you have it with Chemical Death 2000!”, Rachel yells back.\n\n“CALM DOWN BOTH OF YOUS!!!”, Rachel R. yells at them both.\n\nFor a moment they just growl at each other, though it is Mary that eventually backs down by a warning from Juanita, “You worked hard enough to get this close to Fernando and now you want to throw it away?”\n\nMary nods at first before relaxing enough for Tonya and Juanita to let her go.\n\n“Its over, Rachel.”, Rachel R. tells her, “Now calm down and lets go...”\n\nIt takes a while for Rachel to calm down enough to step away and continue walking. The girls made sure that Mary was at the far end of where ever Rachel was in the group. Another five or so minutes of walking, they make it to the parking lot of the Pouncefield Mall. Another minute of walking through the maze of parked cars, and the girls enter the mall. Sonia and Bart’s was just a few dozen steps away.\n\nThey take a large booth to fit the six of them, Mary is seated by the wall with Tony in the middle of the row and Juanita at the end of the bench. Rachel R. is seated opposite from Mary, Grace opposite from Tonya and Rachel opposite of Juanita. The waiter arrives at their table after given then a couple of minutes to study the menu. Nobody notices Wandaline was gone.\n\n“What would you ladies like?”, the waiter asks.\n\n“I’ll take a swiss cheese burger and a pistachio milk shake.”, Rachel starts off first.\n\n“I’ll take a breakfast burger, a hamburger with a fried egg and a pistachio milk shake.”, Grace says, then adds, and a side of fries.”\n\n“Damn, you didn’t eat any breakfast?”, Rachel R. comments.\n\n“No I didn’t. I’m hungry, damn it. Go order your food!”, Grace almost pounce on her.\n\n“Damn... I was just saying...”, Rachel R. says.\n\n“I said order your food!”, Grace tells her.\n\n“Damn, what a grouch.”, Rachel R. says to herself before turning to the waiter, “I’ll take a turkey and ham club sandwich. And a Pepsi.”\n\n“How about you?”, the waiter switches over to Juanita. She looks back at him like a deer at the coming headlights of a car.\n\n“I’ll have pistachio milkshake but I got no money.”, Tonya says.\n\n“I’ll cover for you.”, Mary says, then adds, “makes that two and a twin burger with fries.”\n\n“Alright, two pistachio shakes, twin burger and fries.”, the waiter says as he writes it down, turning to Juanita “And you, miss?”\n\nJuanita still sits there unsure how to answer.\n\n“She’ll have a swiss cheese burger and a pistachio milkshake like me.”, Rachel says for her.\n\nThe waiter writes it down and then walks away.\n\n“Hey!”, Juanita eventually wakes up, “I was going to order!”\n\n“And what would you have ordered?”, Rachel leans over to her.\n\n“A swiss cheese burger and a pistachio milkshake...”, Juanita says, realizing how stupid it was to do so at the end.\n\n“Then what’s the problem?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“It’s the principle of the thing.”, Juanita tries to argue back but decides to leave it alone after this, “Never mind.”\n\n“Never mind what?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“I think she’s trying to say that a girl should be able to order her own food.”, Grace tries to explain.\n\n“She was there gawking at the waiter like his cock was hanging out of his pants or something.”, Rachel complains.\n\n“I was not gawking at the waiter like his cock was hanging out of his pants. I was thinking.”, Juanita tries to explain.\n\n“Thinking of what?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“Wasn’t Wandaline with us?”, Juanita asks.\n\n“Yeah, she’s...”, Rachel says as she turns to the other two-Grace and Rachel R.\n\n“She was with us when we entered the mall.”, Grace says.\n\n“Well, we better find her... after lunch. And everybody better have money to pay their share of the bill or somebody’s staying behind to wash dishes!”, Rachel tells them.\n\nThey all comment about having money except for Tonya who did not have any.\n\n[Rewind several minutes ago...]\n\nAs the girls enter Sonia and Bart’s Restaurant, Wandaline continues straight to the escalators and elevator bank, where the floor maps were posted. She studies a set for while, not know where her friends went nor that she was being watched.\n\nNo sooner than she would notice anything wrong, Wandaline does not notice that she is surrounded by several female squirrels though slightly shorter that she is. Despite Wandaline being the tallest girl of Fernando’s group, these girls seem to be a year younger in size but yet fill of attitude that belies their 12 years of age.\n\n“Ahem!”, one of them tries to get Wandaline’s attention. She tries again, “A-HEM!” Wandaline still remains fixated on the map.\n\n“Maybe she’s deaf?”, another says.\n\n“Maybe she’s stupid.”, a third throws in.\n\nA fourth one reaches over and nudges her, yelling, “HEY!”\n\n“You mind...?!!”, Wandaline started to say as she turned around, expecting somebody else to be there. She looks down at them, counting four grey squirrels, one white squirrel and one black squirrel, all wearing the Columbus Academy uniform with jacket. “Who are you? I don’t know any of you...”, Wandaline finally says.\n\n“No shit Sherlock. We never seen you before either!”, the first one says to her.\n\n“Maybe she does not live here, visiting relatives before going home to what ever hick town she came from.”, the second tells her.\n\nWandaline tries not to answer as she looks for her friends who have long disappeared into the restaurant. “Where did they go?”, she says to herself.\n\n“She’s not even paying attention to us!”, the third says.\n\n“What do you little girls want?”, Wandaline asks, looking down at them, “Cant you see that I’m lost?”\n\n“Little girls?!!”, they all say to her. “I’ll let you know that we’re all in a group with an Alpha Male and everything!”, the first girl adds.\n\n“Yeah. I’m sure your little boy toy would be angry if he found out his little girl pals ended up in security for harassing store customers.”, Wandaline tells her, pointing to a security camera over their heads. They look at her in dismay. She continues, “Look, all of you are what, 10, 11? I’m 13. I been there and done that and my boyfriend is very nice for he does not play the Alpha game. If I need something, he will give it to me. Last June, he gave me a brand new Macintosh Laptop.”\n\nThey look at her in awe, though not a lie, it’s a far stretch of the truth. The Macintosh laptop Fernando gave to Wandaline was his older Powerbook unit when he got a new one, along with an older inkjet printer and a few cartridges of ink.\n\n“They said they were going to Sonia and Bart’s Restaurant.”, Wandaline turns around to the map.\n\n“Sonia and Bart’s? That pig sty of a fast food sit down service eatery?”, the first girl asks disrespectfully.\n\n“You would only know that if you ate there several times and discovered the toe nail in your pudding.”, Wandaline explains in answer before going through the weakest one and on her way to Sonia and Bart’s Restaurant.\n\nThey just stand there looking at her for a moment as she walks away. A much older male boy in his mid to late teen arrives from the escalator with four more girls of their age. “Who was that?”, the older boy say to them.\n\n“Didn’t get her name.”, the first girl answers.\n\n“Tried to make her wait for you to come but she got through.”, the second says adds.\n\n“Maybe another time.”, the older boy says, “Lets go home and see who’s panties are the prettiest today.”\n\nThe girls giggle as they gather around him before leaving the mall.\n\nWandaline makes her way to the restaurant.\n\nFinding the girls already seated at the booth, she takes a nearby chair and puts it at the end of the booth’s table to sit down in.\n\n“Where were you?”, Rachel looks at her as she puts the seat into place.\n\n“I was just checking something out.”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“Yeah, the boys.”, Mary throws at her.\n\n“I was not looking at the boys.”, Wandaline defensively tells her.\n\n“You see! Why she acting funny if it wasn’t boys?”, Mary throws at Rachel.\n\n“Then what were you doing out there?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“Well. I was... looking at the map by the elevators.”, Wandaline hesitates in answering.\n\n“And what were you looking for on the map?”. Rachel asks.\n\n“You know... the stores and things.”, Wandaline tries to explains.\n\n“Looking up stores and things on the map would not have taken you that long.”, Rachel R. says.\n\n“There was a group of girls that kept me from going for a while.”, Wandaline adds to her explaination.\n\n“Who were these girls?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“I don t know. They all wore a school uniform of sorts. The jacket had an embossed badge that said ‘Columbus Academy’ on it.”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“And?”, Rachel throws in.\n\n“And... What?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“What were they, squirrels, foxes, cats? How old they were?”, Rachel asks for details.\n\n“Oh, that. They were all squirrels. About your age.”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“So what, they wanted you to join their harem pack or something?”, Mary asks before the others could.\n\n“I don’t know.”, Wandaline tries to explain, “They just kept me from leaving for a while. That all.”\n\n“I think there is more to it than what she’s explaining.”, Rachel R. says.\n\n“If there is anything more, its on them. I told you everything.”, Wandaline says defensively.\n\n“Yeah, what ever. What do you want to order?”, Rachel tells her.\n\n“Order?”, Wandaline asks. Rachel points to the waiter behind.\n\n“You cant sit here like this unless you order something to eat.”, the waiter tells her.\n\n“Eat? Oh, uhm... I don’t know.”, Wandaline says.\n\n“Girl, you better order something or else be kicked out!”, Rachel warns her.\n\n“Alright. Uhm... I’ll take a pistachio milkshake for now.”, Wandaline says.\n\n“A pistachio milkshake.”, the waiter says as the order is written down. He asks, “Anything else?”\n\n“I don’t know yet.”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“OK. One pistachio milkshake.”, the waiter says before leaving.\n\n“You better order something when he returns with the milkshakes.”, Rachel warns her.\n\n“I will.”, Wandaline replies.\n\nAn uncomfortable silence hands in the air for a few seconds.\n\n“So, where are we going after this?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“Don’t know. The pool maybe.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“What about the park?”, Grace asks.\n\n“If there was a beach, I would like to go there.”, Rachel R. comments.\n\n“There is a beach.”, Rachel replies.\n\n“Where?”, the other girls reply to her.\n\n“I hear its by the airport. Past the hospital on another bus.”, Rachel answers, “Not many people go there because they say it’s a hassle to get there.”\n\n“What about sun block?”, Wandaline asks.\n\n“What about it?”, Rachel asks.\n\n“I mean, well, I don’t want to get sunburned. At the pool its not a problem, but the sand reflects the sun making it worse for me.”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“Don’t you have a magic spell of something to counter that? I’m sure Mary there can help you gather some toad wart or something.”, Rachel replies.\n\n“I’ll gather the toad wart off your bushy tail.”, Mary tells her.\n\n“When Fernando finds out that you hurt me, you’re out.”, Rachel warns her.\n\n“I gonna be out anyways, when you lie about it.”, Mary tells her.\n\n“She’s not going to lie to get you kicked out.”, Grace tells her,\n\n“What makes you sure of that?”, Mary asks.\n\n“Fernando is going to verify any statement through us before making a decision.”, Rachel R. tells her as she points her finger to all the girls in a circle.\n\n“He’s not going to take anything at face value with us. Its all or nothing.”, Juanita throws in.\n\n“Sure it will. I’m going to hold you all to that when it happens.”, Mary complains.\n\n“Nothing is going to happen.”, Rachel tells her.\n\n“I’m just saying it better not.”, Mary complains.\n\nA waiter arrives with their food, putting the drinks down to the girl who ordered it, then the food. Rachel R. gets her club sandwich first. Mary gets her twin burgers with fries and slides the plate between her and Tonya. Everyone but Wandaline gets their share and begin to eat, so she tries to get the waiter’s attention.\n\n“Uhm... excuse me, sir?”, Wandaline tries to get the waiter’s attention.\n\nThe waiter stops for a moment to turn around and face her. “Yes?”, he answers.\n\n“Yeh, Uhm... I would like what she’s having.”, Wandaline answers, pointing at Rachel R.’s meal.\n\n“A turkey and ham club sandwich?”, the waiter asks.\n\n“Yes.”, Wandaline answers.\n\n“A turkey and ham club sandwich”, the waiter walks away as he writes it on his pad.\n\n“You better hope that they get your food over here quickly, or you are going to walk and eat at the same time.”, Rachel tells her.\n\nWandaline could only look down at the table in defeat.\n\n“So how do we get to the beach?”, Juanita tries to change the subject.\n\n“Same bus we took to the hospital the last time, and then change for another bus that goes to the airport.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“You know which bus it is?”, Juanita continues.\n\n“Of course we don’t. We need to ask.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“I’m just asking.”, Juanita says.\n\nRachel just shakes her head at the exchange. But it was enough time to delay Rachel a bit. In another couple of minutes, Wandaline’s order comes in.\n\nThough each girl eats at her own rate, they seem to slow down for Wandaline to catch up. Once together at the same level, they continue at their normal pace in silence. Another fifteen minutes have them finishing their meals. When done, or almost done, they begin to take out their money and consolidate their costs of the meal and a tip for the waiter. Taking a menu from another table, they discuss prices of what they owed.\n\nWith the bill paid and the waiter compensated with a tip, the girls leave the restaurant, then leave the mall, looking for a bus stop that was further away then they anticipated.\n\nIt took a bit of realization that the bus to the hospital was one block further away than where they were. This realization was first made by Juanita, who by mere mention made Rachel remember.\n\n“I think the bus stop is a block back towards home.”, Juanita says.\n\nRachel thinks about it for a moment before snapping at Juanita and realizes that she was right.\n\n“I think you’re right.”, Rachel says, as she leads the group. It only takes them a couple of minutes for them to find it. They waited for another five minutes for a bus to arrive.\n\n“How do we go to the beach?”, Rachel asks the driver.\n\nThe driver looks at her from his seat, “You’re the one with that blind boy, right?”\n\n“He’s my brother.”, Rachel answers.\n\nThe driver goes through a folding clipboard, running through a set of papers, “I was hoping he would return, I have something for him.” He finally find a folded application and gives it to her. “Have him and his doctor fill that out and give it back to me. In a couple of days he will get a free-ride bus pass, but if you’re with him, I’ll let you on for free as well.”\n\n“Thanks. I’ll give it to him.”, Rachel replies as she glances through the application before putting it away. “How do we go to the beach?”, she then asks again.\n\n“The Beach? You know how to take this bus to the hospital. From there, go to the bus stop on the other street by the hospital that says ‘Airport’ and ask him to take you to the beach. All Airport buses go to the beach, it’s a rest stop for them but you have to ask for them to take you there. Going home, get on the first bus on the line and they will take you back to the hospital.”, the bus driver explains.\n\n“Thanks.”, Rachel responds. She looks for some loose change, but the bus driver covers the fare box’s money slot. “Huh?”, she responds to the action.\n\n“Have a seat, all of you. And be careful when you get to the beach.”, the bus driver tells them.\n\nUnsure of what to say, they walk into the bus and say thanks in the least. They head to the rear of the bus, finding it empty. They take seats in the rear of the bus and look at each other as the bus drives away.\n\n“Looks like Fernando needs to see Dr. Leary tomorrow to get this filled out.”, Rachel says as she goes back to reading the application.\n\n“But most of us is seeing Dr. Leary tomorrow.”, Grace says.\n\n“I have to get my booster shots even though I had them before but my medical files are lost.”, Rachel tries not to complain.\n\n“You’re going to be sick after that.”, Rachel R. says.\n\n“I’ll do what I can.”, Rachel tells her.\n\n“Better hope you get well before school starts.”, Rachel R. piles on.\n\n“What ever.”, Rachel replies.\n\nThe bus driver turns on the loud speaker and makes his statement, “Next Stop: Pouncefield General Hospital. Switch here for the Pouncefield International Airport and ask to be taken to the beach.”\n\nThe girls get up and starts to walk to the front of the bus and wait for it to make its stop. As soon as the doors open, they all get off one by one, saying ‘thanks’ to the driver. The door closes as they step away from the vehicle and head to the corner. They wait for the bus to drive away clear of the intersection before they cross, their New York Nature saying ‘the hell with the traffic lights, the streets are clear – go cross the street.’ Doing so makes them arrive at the other bus stop faster than normal. Rachel looks at how imposing the hospital is.\n\n“What you looking at? Its only a hospital.”, Mary says.\n\n“This is where we will be tomorrow for our check up.”, Rachel says.\n\n“Alright, what time?”, Mary asks.\n\n“Anytime between 9AM and 1PM.”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Can we go here as a group?”, Grace asks.\n\n“We tried that this morning and see where that got us!”, Rachel answers.\n\n“Like I asked before, where’s Fernando?”, Mary brings up the subject again.\n\n“Why do you want to know?”, Rachel asks in answer.\n\n“Wasn’t this his day he planned?”, Mary asks.\n\n“He got sick and his doctor made a house call, and gave him some sedatives to sleep on to get better.”, Rachel explains.\n\n“Nice save.”, Rachel R. says to herself.\n\n“I heard that.”, Grace whispers to her.\n\n“Will he be coming here tomorrow too?”, Mary tries to push the point.\n\n“No. He already had his examination as did I but they did not have the shots for me then so I have to take them tomorrow.”, Rachel explains.\n\n“But..”, Mary tries to interject.\n\n“Look, we got many hours for the rest of the day to enjoy without Fernando.”, Rachel interrupts her, though others were going to say the same thing though not the same words.\n\nMary just sighs then notices an airport bus rolling down the street, stopping at the intersection. The other girls also notice but make no reaction to its presence. After a while it drives across the intersection and makes its way to stop at the bus stop. Once it stops, it does not open its door for more than a couple of minutes. This annoyed Mary the most, though it was hinted to her to calm down and be patient.\n\nRachel enters first when the doors open. She asks, “Do you go to the beach?”\n\nThe bus driver looks at her, “This bus goes to the airport. To go to the beach you need to walk from there.”\n\n“But the other bus driver said if we ask, you would take us there.”, Mary says from behind.\n\n“Which driver said that?”, the bus driver asks.\n\n“We don’t know his name.”, Juanita answers.\n\n“It’s the bus from that street over there.”, Tonya says as she points to the street.\n\n“Look, I usually don’t take passengers to the beach from the airport.”, the bus driver says. They all gave him the ‘sad puppy dog’ eyes all at once. “Alright. But I want a quiet bus when we leave the airport.”, he adds.\n\nThey all wanted to celebrate but hold back on it until they get there, thus they climb into the bus quietly. They sit quietly at the middle of the bus, just a couple of rows from rear exit. The ride to the airport was about five minutes, with no passengers being picked up because there were none. Once out of the airport the ride to the beach took another three minutes. The bus stops just short of the beach house, with two other buses in front of it. The girls get off saying thanks to the driver.\n\nThey walk over to the beach house which holds a concession stand and beach store selling anything from bathing suits and towels to inflatable floating toys and carry-alls for food and clothing. They look over the store and the concession stand, with Grace and Juanita buying a few things: bags of potato chips, soda and sunscreen. No one notices how empty the beach was, perhaps ten other people on the five miles stretch of sand as the eye can see.\n\nEnd of Chapter 47",

As she waited Edna, Cynthia and Laura approached her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Hi!&rdquo;, Edna steps up to her waving her hand.<br /><br />&ldquo;Hi Edna.&rdquo;, Rachel greeted her.<br /><br />&ldquo;What are you doing out here?&rdquo;, Cynthia asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Just waiting for a few friends to show up.&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, if you like, Soccer try outs are on this weekend. I would like you to be on the team.&rdquo;, Cynthia tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Cheerleading tryouts are also going as well. I would like you to be on the squad too.&rdquo;, Laura explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, I cant do it. Too much to do, no time to do it, if you know what I mean.&rdquo;, Rachel&nbsp;&nbsp;says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, if its taking care of your blind brother, I&rsquo;m sure arrangements can be made for him. He can hang out with Edward and Pokeinfo during practice!&rdquo;, Edna states with much more than needed exuberance.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll think about it and discuss it with him.&rdquo;, Rachel replies though not wanting too.<br /><br />&ldquo;You know who these new squirrels are?&rdquo;, Laura asks, &ldquo;I hear they all came from New York City.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I know them.&rdquo;, Rachel answers not wanting to give anymore information.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well...&rdquo;, Laura says in demand of such information.<br /><br />&ldquo;I just know them. That&rsquo;s all.&rdquo;, Rachel says to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Are they nice? Are there any boys? Are they the same age as us?&rdquo;, Laura shoots the questions one after another.<br /><br />&ldquo;They&rsquo;re all girls and they are older girls like my brother as far as I know.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Come on, lets go before we&rsquo;re late for practice.&rdquo;, Cynthia says, trying to get the girls going to the sports field.<br /><br />&ldquo;Alright, let me know if you change your mind!&rdquo;, Edna says out loud as Cynthia takes her by the wrist and hauls her away. Laura follows, leaving Rachel beside herself once again.<br /><br />Rachel R. comes out first, making her way to Rachel who has not moved from her spot. Grace leaves her house as soon as the 2 Rachels&nbsp;&nbsp;get together.<br /><br />&ldquo;Who was that?&rdquo;, Grace asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Who you talking about?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;The vixen, bunny girl and squirrel girl that were talking to you? Saw it all out my window.&rdquo;, Grace asks and then explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;They&rsquo;re all friends. The vixen is Edna, she lives over there.&rdquo;, Rachel points out to a house across the street from them further down the block. &ldquo; The bunny girl is Cynhia. She&rsquo;s been wanting me to join the soccer team for some reason. The squirrel girl is Laura, she wants me to try out for the cheerleaders.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;You, in the cheerleaders? I cant see it.&rdquo;, Rachel R. holds back from laughing.<br /><br />&ldquo;You can come home and show Fernando your Pom Poms.&rdquo;, Grace adds.<br /><br />&ldquo;Ha ha... I already shown Fernando my pom poms, and where he can score a goal. OK?&rdquo;, Rachel tells them.<br /><br />&ldquo;Ooo...&rdquo;, they both go.<br /><br />&ldquo;Oh shut up. I know you two have showed him your pom poms and where he can score a goal.&rdquo; Rachel tells them.<br /><br />&ldquo;Its been a while since Fernando scored a goal with my pom poms.&rdquo;, Grace says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Grace!&rdquo;, Rachel R. holds back from yelling at her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Its been a while, you know.&rdquo;, Grace complains to Rachel R.<br /><br />&ldquo;You make it sound like its mating season and you&rsquo;re in heat to have his puppies!&rdquo;, Rachel R. continues complaining.<br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe I am in heat for Fernando, but so are you too! I&rsquo;m just saying that I would love a chance with him&nbsp;&nbsp;if I could right now.&rdquo;, Grace explains it to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;No way that is going to happen. He&rsquo;s going to be out for the rest of the day.&rdquo;, Rachel explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;I know.&rdquo;, Grace almost pouts. <br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe you should go home and get a date with Robert Palmer or any of his 5 friends.&rdquo;, Rachel R. throws at Grace.<br /><br />&ldquo;Robert Palmer and his friends are not worth it. They cant do the job like Fernando can.&rdquo;, Grace argues back.<br /><br />&ldquo;Robert Palmer?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;You know Robert Palmer...&rdquo;, Rachel R. says as she shows her hand, wiggling in her fingers before curling them up except for her middle finger which is extended and she makes a couple of thrusting motion with it.<br /><br />&ldquo;Oh... Uhm... nevermind all that. I swear the both of you&rsquo;s are so horny I can smell the both of you creaming your panties here and now.&rdquo;, Rachel says, &ldquo;Speaking of horny, where&rsquo;s Wandaline.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know.&rdquo;, Grace answers as all three look at Wandaline&rsquo;s house.<br /><br />&ldquo;We&rsquo;re going in to see what is going on.&rdquo;, Rachel says, almost orders.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah, do that... Now wait a minute! What do you mean we?!!&rdquo;, Grace says and then suddenly asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Come on Rachel, drag her along.&rdquo;, Rachel says as she walks to the gate for Wanaline&rsquo;s house.<br /><br />&ldquo;With pleasure.&rdquo;, Rachel R. replies as she takes Grace by her wrist and follows Rachel.<br /><br />Together the three walks through the gate, and to the front door. Rachel reaches for the doorbell but it rings before she touches it. The door opens, revealing a taller than expected female white squirrel in a black hooded robe looking down at them.<br /><br />&ldquo;You three here for Wandaline?&rdquo;, she asks.<br /><br />All being bit nervous,&nbsp;&nbsp;Rachel gets the courage to answer, &ldquo;Yes we are. You&rsquo;re Wandaline&rsquo;s mother?&rdquo;<br /><br />She nods for an answer. &ldquo;Come inside. I have a few questions to ask.&rdquo;, she tells them, stepping back against the wall and holding the door open.<br /><br />The three of them walk into house, she points to a set of seats for them to sit down around a table. She joins them without sitting down before dropping a dark grey bikini on the table.<br /><br />&ldquo;Where did she get this?&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;She bought that yesterday for us to go to the pool. We recommended to get a 2-piece to make it easier to change in and out of instead of a 1-piece.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says.<br /><br />&ldquo;You can back that up?&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother asks Rachel.<br /><br />&ldquo;I was not there when they bought it. I was already at the pool with my brother.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;We told her not to get anything too revealing like those string bikinis. We all basically got the same thing in different colors.&rdquo;, Grace says.<br /><br />&ldquo;I see.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother says, &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t want my little girl flaunting her body like some floozy on Play Squirrel Magazine.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;None of us is doing that, especially Wandaline.&rdquo;, Rachel tries to defend them.<br /><br />&ldquo;I sense truth in your words little one.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother says. &ldquo; Before I let her go, show me yours.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t have a 2-piece like they have. I have a 1-piece from last year. It&rsquo;s a little tight but it still fits.&rdquo;, Rachel says as she pulls her bathing suit from her bag. Wandaline&rsquo;s mother signals her to stop, as 1/2 of the bathing suit is pulled out from her bag.<br /><br />&ldquo;You two, lets see them.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother almost demands.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m wearing mine.&rdquo;, Grace tries to get out of it.<br /><br />&ldquo;So am I.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says as she gets up and starts undoing her blouse. A few seconds later she stands in front of Wandaline&rsquo;s mother in her bikini. She hand signals to Grace to do the same as fast as possible.<br /><br />Grace takes longer than Rachel R. did to take off her clothes, but does eventually. Wandaline&rsquo;s mother walks around them, inspecting the, from top to bottom with a discerning eye. Then she stops behind them after a third walk around.<br /><br />&ldquo;You girls interested in boys?&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Its natural to be interested in boys. I do.&rdquo;, Rachel says from her seat.<br /><br />&ldquo;Hmph...&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother says to herself, adding in a louder tone, &ldquo;Interested in boyfriends, touching, feeling, making out, having sex?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Like I said before, its normal to be interested in those things, especially at our age. But I can vouch for them all that they are virgins, I am not.&rdquo;, Rachel tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I know all about your unpleasant history, girl. But your honesty is something I want Wandaline to learn. She is a growing girl, and I do not want her to get into trouble and then lie about it.&rdquo;, Wandaline mother&rsquo;s explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;Look, we&rsquo;re not out there teasing boys and trying to show skin. We&rsquo;re not like that at all.&rdquo;, Grace explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;I like her brother a lot but I&rsquo;m not going to be dropping my panties for him. I want to get married with an education and a career first before I have babies.&rdquo;, Rachel R. adds.<br /><br />&ldquo;And I a Law Enforcement Officer or Teacher.&rdquo;, Grace throws in.<br /><br />&ldquo;We hang out together, and we are not going to let boys trying to get us.&rdquo;, Rachel throws in.<br /><br />Wandaline&rsquo;s mother thinks for a while before slowly going around again to the table. She picks up Wandaline&rsquo;s bikini and looks at Rachel R. and Grace.<br /><br />&ldquo;Put your clothes on. I need to have a talk with my daughter.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother says before walking away.<br /><br />&ldquo;What was that about?&rdquo;, Grace asks as soon as Wandaline&rsquo;s mother disappears in her daughter&rsquo;s room.<br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe she&rsquo;s old fashion.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says as she puts on her blouse.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, I hope she is not in too much trouble.&rdquo;, Rachel adds.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah.&rdquo;, Grace replies.<br /><br />&ldquo;I can understand what she&rsquo;s thinking. A bikini looks like a bra and panty underwear set to some people, and she being old fashion thinks the same way.&rdquo;, Rachel explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;Its not that...&rdquo;, Wandaline says from the hall approaching them, &ldquo; She thinks I&rsquo;m too young for these things.&rdquo;, holding out her bikini panty with both hands while the bikini bra crumpled up in her right hand. She sits at the table and put them into the small duffle bag she had over her shoulder.<br /><br />&ldquo;So, is she letting you go?&rdquo;, Grace asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;For now. As long as I behave.&rdquo;, Wandaline says.<br /><br />&ldquo;But you always been a good girl.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says, seeing Wandaline&rsquo;s mother from the corner of her eye.<br /><br />&ldquo;I know. But she thinks its not good enough.&rdquo;, Wandaline says in the verge of tears she is holding back.<br /><br />&ldquo;Now that you are here, we can go.&rdquo;, Grace says to try to make a quick exit.<br /><br />&ldquo;I do have to tell her that Grandmother want to speak to her about Jorge.&rdquo;, Rachel explains, &ldquo; You three can wait for me outside.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Alright, lets go.&rdquo;, Grace says, slowly getting up from the table.<br /><br />&ldquo;No, we wait for her right here.&rdquo;, Rachel R. almost demands.<br /><br />&ldquo;But...&rdquo;, Grace tries to interject.<br /><br />&ldquo;No butts.&rdquo;, Rachel R. throws at her. &ldquo; This involves all of us...&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;What does she wants to talk to me about?&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother comes out from the shadows in the hallway.<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know the exact details but it involves the other brother, Jorge. I don&rsquo;t think she is there now but she&rsquo;s usually home from food shopping around 2 &ndash; 3 in the afternoon.&rdquo;, Rachel explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;I see.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother says, &ldquo;I will wait and see her then. And Wandaline...&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Yes mother?&rdquo;, Wandaline replies in question.<br /><br />&ldquo;I expect you to be at your best behavior out there.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I will...&rdquo;, Wandaline replies in defeat to her mother&rsquo;s authority.<br /><br />&ldquo;Can we go now?&rdquo;, Grace complains.<br /><br />&ldquo;What&rsquo;s your hurry?&rdquo;, Rachel R. complains right back.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m getting hungry. That&rsquo;s what.&rdquo;, Grace throws at her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, Sonia and Bart&rsquo;s is not leaving the mall anytime soon.&rdquo;, Rachel R. throws back at her as a reminder.<br /><br />&ldquo;Sonia and Bart?&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a restaurant that used to be down the street, but then moved to the mall. They serve everything but Spanish food.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, maybe we can fix that one day.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Mother...&rdquo;, Wandaline says in frustration.<br /><br />&ldquo;What is it, dear?&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t go there and get a job cooking Spanish food.&rdquo;, Wandaline tells her, &ldquo; It would be embarrassing.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I will do what I have to do to support this family &ndash; that means you and me &ndash; so that we have a home to live in, food to eat and clothes to wear. We&rsquo;re not a welfare family, we don&rsquo;t need the state to be supporting us when we can support ourselves.&rdquo;, Wandaline&rsquo;s mother tells her, &ldquo; Now if they would like to support this growing Spanish community that we are, then maybe I can send them a couple of recipes.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Alright, lets go before the lunchtime specials are over.&rdquo;, Grace says holds back from complaining too much.<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know how you do it, Grace. To eat so much and stay skinny as you are.&rdquo;, Rachel says as she gets up from her seat, &ldquo;Remember, the all you can eat buffet does not mean you can stay there for four hours and eat everything!&rdquo;<br /><br />The girls except for Grace were laughing as they got and head to the door. With salutations being said, the girls continue on their way and turn down the block to head to the mall. Arriving at the far corner, the girls check for traffic though the streets were already clear.<br /><br />&ldquo;Hey! Wait up!&rdquo;, a voice calls to them, making them wait longer. Turning around they find Juanita trotting up behind them, and Mary with Tonya walking behind her. They wait for them to catch up.<br /><br />&ldquo;Where are we going?&rdquo;, Juanita asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Where&rsquo;s Fernando?&rdquo;, Mary asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Why are you late? And where&rsquo;s the twin bitches?&rdquo;, Rachel tells them sternly. &ldquo; You all were supposed to be at my place at 9o&rsquo;clock, and its almost 12 now.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Its not even 11:30 yet!&rdquo;, Mary throws back at her.<br /><br />&ldquo;So!&rdquo;, Rachel tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Sew the holes in your pantyhose &ndash; you bitch!&rdquo;, Mary says outload.<br /><br />Rachel turns around from about to crossing the street to face Mary. &ldquo; What was that?&rdquo;, she asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;You heard me.&rdquo;, Mary tells her.<br /><br />Rachel tightly curls her index finger against her thumb. &ldquo; Then hear this...&rdquo;, Rachel raises her hand at Mary&rsquo;s chest and plucks her finger hard against Mary&rsquo;s nipple whose impression can be seen through her t-shirt.<br /><br />Mary clutches at her breast, doubling over in pain. &ldquo; You Damn Bitch! I&rsquo;m going to get you!&rdquo;, she yells. Juanita and Tonya grab onto her elbows when she tried to charge at Rachel. Grace and Rachel R. grab on to Rachel as she reached for her spray can of mace, Wandaline in between the two combatants.<br /><br />&ldquo;Come on bitch! I&rsquo;ll let you have it with Chemical Death 2000!&rdquo;, Rachel yells back.<br /><br />&ldquo;CALM DOWN BOTH OF YOUS!!!&rdquo;, Rachel R. yells at them both.<br /><br />For a moment they just growl at each other, though it is Mary that eventually backs down by a warning from Juanita, &ldquo; You worked hard enough to get this close to Fernando and now you want to throw it away?&rdquo;<br /><br />Mary nods at first before relaxing enough for Tonya and Juanita to let her go.<br /><br />&ldquo;Its over, Rachel.&rdquo;, Rachel R. tells her, &ldquo; Now calm down and lets go...&rdquo;<br /><br />It takes a while for Rachel to calm down enough to step away and continue walking. The girls made sure that Mary was at the far end of where ever Rachel was in the group. Another five or so minutes of walking, they make it to the parking lot of the Pouncefield Mall. Another minute of walking through the maze of parked cars, and the girls enter the mall. Sonia and Bart&rsquo;s was just a few dozen steps away.<br /><br />They take a large booth to fit the six of them, Mary is seated by the wall with Tony in the middle of the row and Juanita at the end of the bench. Rachel R. is seated opposite from Mary, Grace opposite from Tonya and Rachel opposite of Juanita. The waiter arrives at their table after given then a couple of minutes to study the menu. Nobody notices Wandaline was gone.<br /><br />&ldquo;What would you ladies like?&rdquo;, the waiter asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll take a swiss cheese burger and a pistachio milk shake.&rdquo;, Rachel starts off first.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll take a breakfast burger, a hamburger with a fried egg and a pistachio milk shake.&rdquo;, Grace says, then adds, and a side of fries.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Damn, you didn&rsquo;t eat any breakfast?&rdquo;, Rachel R. comments.<br /><br />&ldquo;No I didn&rsquo;t. I&rsquo;m hungry, damn it. Go order your food!&rdquo;, Grace almost pounce on her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Damn... I was just saying...&rdquo;, Rachel R. says.<br /><br />&ldquo;I said order your food!&rdquo;, Grace tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Damn, what a grouch.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says to herself before turning to the waiter, &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll take a turkey and ham club sandwich. And a Pepsi.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;How about you?&rdquo;, the waiter switches over to Juanita. She looks back at him like a deer at the coming headlights of a car.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll have pistachio milkshake but I got no money.&rdquo;, Tonya says.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll cover for you.&rdquo;, Mary says, then adds, &ldquo;makes that two and a twin burger with fries.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Alright, two pistachio shakes, twin burger and fries.&rdquo;, the waiter says as he writes it down, turning to Juanita &ldquo; And you, miss?&rdquo;<br /><br />Juanita still sits there unsure how to answer.<br /><br />&ldquo;She&rsquo;ll have a swiss cheese burger and a pistachio milkshake like me.&rdquo;, Rachel says for her.<br /><br />The waiter writes it down and then walks away.<br /><br />&ldquo;Hey!&rdquo;, Juanita eventually wakes up, &ldquo;I was going to order!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;And what would you have ordered?&rdquo;, Rachel leans over to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;A swiss cheese burger and a pistachio milkshake...&rdquo;, Juanita says, realizing how stupid it was to do so at the end.<br /><br />&ldquo;Then what&rsquo;s the problem?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;It&rsquo;s the principle of the thing.&rdquo;, Juanita tries to argue back but decides to leave it alone after this, &ldquo;Never mind.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Never mind what?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;I think she&rsquo;s trying to say that a girl should be able to order her own food.&rdquo;, Grace tries to explain.<br /><br />&ldquo;She was there gawking at the waiter like his cock was hanging out of his pants or something.&rdquo;, Rachel complains.<br /><br />&ldquo;I was not gawking at the waiter like his cock was hanging out of his pants. I was thinking.&rdquo;, Juanita tries to explain.<br /><br />&ldquo;Thinking of what?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Wasn&rsquo;t Wandaline with us?&rdquo;, Juanita asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah, she&rsquo;s...&rdquo;, Rachel says as she turns to the other two-Grace and Rachel R.<br /><br />&ldquo;She was with us when we entered the mall.&rdquo;, Grace says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well, we better find her... after lunch. And everybody better have money to pay their share of the bill or somebody&rsquo;s staying behind to wash dishes!&rdquo;, Rachel tells them.<br /><br />They all comment about having money except for Tonya who did not have any.<br /><br />[Rewind several minutes ago...]<br /><br />As the girls enter Sonia and Bart&rsquo;s Restaurant, Wandaline continues straight to the escalators and elevator bank, where the floor maps were posted. She studies a set for while, not know where her friends went nor that she was being watched.<br /><br />No sooner than she would notice anything wrong, Wandaline does not notice that she is surrounded by several female squirrels though slightly shorter that she is. Despite Wandaline being the tallest girl of Fernando&rsquo;s group, these girls seem to be a year younger in size but yet fill of attitude that belies their 12 years of age.<br /><br />&ldquo;Ahem!&rdquo;, one of them tries to get Wandaline&rsquo;s attention. She tries again, &ldquo;A-HEM!&rdquo; Wandaline still remains fixated on the map.<br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe she&rsquo;s deaf?&rdquo;, another says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe she&rsquo;s stupid.&rdquo;, a third throws in.<br /><br />A fourth one reaches over and nudges her, yelling, &ldquo;HEY!&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;You mind...?!!&rdquo;, Wandaline started to say as she turned around, expecting somebody else to be there. She looks down at them, counting four grey squirrels, one white squirrel and one black squirrel, all wearing the Columbus Academy uniform with jacket. &ldquo;Who are you? I don&rsquo;t know any of you...&rdquo;, Wandaline finally says.<br /><br />&ldquo;No shit Sherlock. We never seen you before either!&rdquo;, the first one says to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe she does not live here, visiting relatives before going home to what ever hick town she came from.&rdquo;, the second tells her.<br /><br />Wandaline tries not to answer as she looks for her friends who have long disappeared into the restaurant.&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Where did they go?&rdquo;, she says to herself.<br /><br />&ldquo;She&rsquo;s not even paying attention to us!&rdquo;, the third says.<br /><br />&ldquo;What do you little girls want?&rdquo;, Wandaline asks, looking down at them, &ldquo;Cant you see that I&rsquo;m lost?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Little girls?!!&rdquo;, they all say to her. &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll let you know that we&rsquo;re all in a group with an Alpha Male and everything!&rdquo;, the first girl adds.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah. I&rsquo;m sure your little boy toy would be angry if he found out his little girl pals ended up in security for harassing store customers.&rdquo;, Wandaline tells her, pointing to a security camera over their heads. They look at her in dismay. She continues, &ldquo;Look, all of you are what, 10, 11? I&rsquo;m 13. I been there and done that and my boyfriend is very nice for he does not play the Alpha game. If I need something, he will give it to me. Last June, he gave me a brand new Macintosh Laptop.&rdquo;<br /><br />They look at her in awe, though not a lie, it&rsquo;s a far stretch of the truth. The Macintosh laptop Fernando gave to Wandaline was his older Powerbook unit when he got a new one, along with an older inkjet printer and a few cartridges of ink.<br /><br />&ldquo;They said they were going to Sonia and Bart&rsquo;s Restaurant.&rdquo;,&nbsp;&nbsp;Wandaline turns around to the map.<br /><br />&ldquo;Sonia and Bart&rsquo;s? That pig sty of a fast food sit down service eatery?&rdquo;, the first girl asks disrespectfully.<br /><br />&ldquo;You would only know that if you ate there several times and discovered the toe nail in your pudding.&rdquo;, Wandaline explains in answer before going through the weakest one and on her way to Sonia and Bart&rsquo;s Restaurant.<br /><br />They just stand there looking at her for a moment as she walks away. A much older male boy in his mid to late teen arrives from the escalator with four more girls of their age. &ldquo;Who was that?&rdquo;, the older boy say to them.<br /><br />&ldquo;Didn&rsquo;t get her name.&rdquo;, the first girl answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Tried to make her wait for you to come but she got through.&rdquo;, the second says adds.<br /><br />&ldquo;Maybe another time.&rdquo;, the older boy says, &ldquo;Lets go home and see who&rsquo;s panties are the prettiest today.&rdquo;<br /><br />The girls giggle as they gather around him before leaving the mall.<br /><br />Wandaline makes her way to the restaurant.<br /><br />Finding the girls already seated at the booth, she takes a nearby chair and puts it at the end of the booth&rsquo;s table to sit down in.<br /><br />&ldquo;Where were you?&rdquo;, Rachel looks at her as she puts the seat into place.<br /><br />&ldquo;I was just checking something out.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah, the boys.&rdquo;, Mary throws at her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I was not looking at the boys.&rdquo;, Wandaline defensively tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;You see! Why she acting funny if it wasn&rsquo;t boys?&rdquo;, Mary throws at Rachel.<br /><br />&ldquo;Then what were you doing out there?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Well. I was... looking at the map by the elevators.&rdquo;, Wandaline hesitates in answering.<br /><br />&ldquo;And what were you looking for on the map?&rdquo;. Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;You know... the stores and things.&rdquo;, Wandaline tries to explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;Looking up stores and things on the map would not have taken you that long.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says.<br /><br />&ldquo;There was a group of girls that kept me from going for a while.&rdquo;, Wandaline adds to her explaination.<br /><br />&ldquo;Who were these girls?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;I don t know. They all wore a school uniform of sorts. The jacket had an embossed badge that said &lsquo;Columbus Academy&rsquo; on it.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;And?&rdquo;, Rachel throws in.<br /><br />&ldquo;And... What?&rdquo;, Wandaline asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;What were they, squirrels, foxes, cats? How old they were?&rdquo;,&nbsp;&nbsp;Rachel asks for details.<br /><br />&ldquo;Oh, that. They were all squirrels. About your age.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;So what, they wanted you to join their harem pack or something?&rdquo;, Mary asks before the others could.<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know.&rdquo;, Wandaline tries to explain, &ldquo; They just kept me from leaving for a while. That all.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I think there is more to it than what she&rsquo;s explaining.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says.<br /><br />&ldquo;If there is anything more, its on them. I told you everything.&rdquo;, Wandaline says defensively.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeah, what ever. What do you want to order?&rdquo;, Rachel tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Order?&rdquo;, Wandaline asks. Rachel points to the waiter behind.<br /><br />&ldquo;You cant sit here like this unless you order something to eat.&rdquo;, the waiter tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Eat? Oh, uhm... I don&rsquo;t know.&rdquo;, Wandaline says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Girl, you better order something or else be kicked out!&rdquo;, Rachel warns her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Alright. Uhm... I&rsquo;ll take a pistachio milkshake for now.&rdquo;, Wandaline says.<br /><br />&ldquo;A pistachio milkshake.&rdquo;, the waiter says as the order is written down. He asks, &ldquo;Anything else?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know yet.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;OK. One pistachio milkshake.&rdquo;, the waiter says before leaving.<br /><br />&ldquo;You better order something when he returns with the milkshakes.&rdquo;, Rachel warns her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I will.&rdquo;, Wandaline replies.<br /><br />An uncomfortable silence hands in the air for a few seconds.<br /><br />&ldquo;So, where are we going after this?&rdquo;, Wandaline asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t know. The pool maybe.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;What about the park?&rdquo;, Grace asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;If there was a beach, I would like to go there.&rdquo;, Rachel R. comments.<br /><br />&ldquo;There is a beach.&rdquo;, Rachel replies.<br /><br />&ldquo;Where?&rdquo;, the other girls reply to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I hear its by the airport. Past the hospital on another bus.&rdquo;, Rachel answers, &ldquo; Not many people go there because they say it&rsquo;s a hassle to get there.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;What about sun block?&rdquo;, Wandaline asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;What about it?&rdquo;, Rachel asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;I mean, well, I don&rsquo;t want to get sunburned. At the pool its not a problem, but the sand reflects the sun making it worse for me.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t you have a magic spell of something to counter that? I&rsquo;m sure Mary there can help you gather some toad wart or something.&rdquo;, Rachel replies.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll gather the toad wart off your bushy tail.&rdquo;, Mary tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;When Fernando finds out that you hurt me, you&rsquo;re out.&rdquo;, Rachel warns her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I gonna be out anyways, when you lie about it.&rdquo;, Mary tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;She&rsquo;s not going to lie to get you kicked out.&rdquo;, Grace tells her,<br /><br />&ldquo;What makes you sure of that?&rdquo;, Mary asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Fernando is going to verify any statement through us before making a decision.&rdquo;, Rachel R. tells her as she points her finger to all the girls in a circle.<br /><br />&ldquo;He&rsquo;s not going to take anything at face value with us. Its all or nothing.&rdquo;, Juanita throws in.<br /><br />&ldquo;Sure it will. I&rsquo;m going to hold you all to that when it happens.&rdquo;, Mary complains.<br /><br />&ldquo;Nothing is going to happen.&rdquo;, Rachel tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m just saying it better not.&rdquo;, Mary complains.<br /><br />A waiter arrives with their food, putting the drinks down to the girl who ordered it, then the food. Rachel R. gets her club sandwich first. Mary gets her twin burgers with fries and slides the plate between her and Tonya. Everyone but Wandaline gets their share and begin to eat, so she tries to get the waiter&rsquo;s attention.<br /><br />&ldquo;Uhm... excuse me, sir?&rdquo;, Wandaline tries to get the waiter&rsquo;s attention.<br /><br />The waiter stops for a moment to turn around and face her. &ldquo;Yes?&rdquo;, he answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yeh, Uhm... I would like what she&rsquo;s having.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers, pointing at Rachel R.&rsquo;s meal.<br /><br />&ldquo;A turkey and ham club sandwich?&rdquo;, the waiter asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Yes.&rdquo;, Wandaline answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;A turkey and ham club sandwich&rdquo;, the waiter walks away as he writes it on his pad.<br /><br />&ldquo;You better hope that they get your food over here quickly, or you are going to walk and eat at the same time.&rdquo;, Rachel tells her.<br /><br />Wandaline could only look down at the table in defeat.<br /><br />&ldquo;So how do we get to the beach?&rdquo;, Juanita tries to change the subject.<br /><br />&ldquo;Same bus we took to the hospital the last time, and then change for another bus that goes to the airport.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;You know which bus it is?&rdquo;, Juanita continues.<br /><br />&ldquo;Of course we don&rsquo;t. We need to ask.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m just asking.&rdquo;, Juanita says.<br /><br />Rachel just shakes her head at the exchange. But it was enough time to delay Rachel a bit. In another couple of minutes, Wandaline&rsquo;s order comes in.<br /><br />Though each girl eats at her own rate, they seem to slow down for Wandaline to catch up. Once together at the same level,&nbsp;&nbsp;they continue at their normal pace in silence. Another fifteen minutes have them finishing their meals. When done, or almost done, they begin to take out their money and consolidate their costs of the meal and a tip for the waiter. Taking a menu from another table, they discuss prices of what they owed.<br /><br />With the bill paid and the waiter compensated with a tip, the girls leave the restaurant, then leave the mall, looking for a bus stop that was further away then they anticipated.<br /><br />It took a bit of realization that the bus to the hospital was one block further away than where they were. This realization was first made by Juanita, who by mere mention made Rachel remember.<br /><br />&ldquo;I think the bus stop is a block back towards home.&rdquo;, Juanita says.<br /><br />Rachel thinks about it for a moment before snapping at Juanita and realizes that she was right.<br /><br />&ldquo;I think you&rsquo;re right.&rdquo;, Rachel says, as she leads the group. It only takes them a couple of minutes for them to find it. They waited for another five minutes for a bus to arrive.<br /><br />&ldquo;How do we go to the beach?&rdquo;, Rachel asks the driver.<br /><br />The driver looks at her from his seat, &ldquo; You&rsquo;re the one with that blind boy, right?&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;He&rsquo;s my brother.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />The driver goes through a folding clipboard, running through a set of papers, &ldquo;I was hoping he would return, I have something for him.&rdquo; He finally find a folded application and gives it to her. &ldquo;Have him and his doctor fill that out and give it back to me. In a couple of days he will get a free-ride bus pass, but if you&rsquo;re with him, I&rsquo;ll let you on for free as well.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;Thanks. I&rsquo;ll give it to him.&rdquo;, Rachel replies as she glances through the application before putting it away. &ldquo; How do we go to the beach?&rdquo;, she then asks again.<br /><br />&ldquo;The Beach? You know how to take this bus to the hospital. From there, go to the bus stop on the other street by the hospital that says &lsquo;Airport&rsquo; and ask him to take you to the beach.&nbsp;&nbsp; All Airport buses go to the beach, it&rsquo;s a rest stop for them but you have to ask for them to take you there. Going home, get on the first bus on the line and they will take you back to the hospital.&rdquo;, the bus driver explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;Thanks.&rdquo;, Rachel responds. She looks for some loose change,&nbsp;&nbsp;but the bus driver covers the fare box&rsquo;s money slot. &ldquo;Huh?&rdquo;, she responds to the action.<br /><br />&ldquo;Have a seat, all of you. And be careful when you get to the beach.&rdquo;, the bus driver tells them.<br /><br />Unsure of what to say, they walk into the bus and say thanks in the least. They head to the rear of the bus, finding it empty. They take seats in the rear of the bus and look at each other as the bus drives away.<br /><br />&ldquo;Looks like Fernando needs to see Dr. Leary tomorrow to get this filled out.&rdquo;, Rachel says as she goes back to reading the application.<br /><br />&ldquo;But most of us is seeing Dr. Leary tomorrow.&rdquo;, Grace says.<br /><br />&ldquo;I have to get my booster shots even though I had them before but my medical files are lost.&rdquo;, Rachel tries not to complain.<br /><br />&ldquo;You&rsquo;re going to be sick after that.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says.<br /><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll do what I can.&rdquo;, Rachel tells her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Better hope you get well before school starts.&rdquo;, Rachel R. piles on.<br /><br />&ldquo;What ever.&rdquo;, Rachel replies.<br /><br />The bus driver turns on the loud speaker and makes his statement, &ldquo;Next Stop: Pouncefield General Hospital. Switch here for the Pouncefield International Airport and ask to be taken to the beach.&rdquo;<br /><br />The girls get up and starts to walk to the front of the bus and wait for it to make its stop. As soon as the doors open, they all get off one by one, saying &lsquo;thanks&rsquo; to the driver. The door closes as they step away from the vehicle and head to the corner. They wait for the bus to drive away clear of the intersection before they cross, their New York Nature saying &lsquo;the hell with the traffic lights, the streets are clear &ndash; go cross the street.&rsquo; Doing so makes them arrive at the other bus stop faster than normal. Rachel looks at how imposing the hospital is.<br /><br />&ldquo;What you looking at? Its only a hospital.&rdquo;, Mary says.<br /><br />&ldquo;This is where we will be tomorrow for our check up.&rdquo;, Rachel says.<br /><br />&ldquo;Alright, what time?&rdquo;, Mary asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;Anytime between 9AM and 1PM.&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Can we go here as a group?&rdquo;, Grace asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;We tried that this morning and see where that got us!&rdquo;, Rachel answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;Like I asked before, where&rsquo;s Fernando?&rdquo;, Mary brings up the subject again.<br /><br />&ldquo;Why do you want to know?&rdquo;, Rachel asks in answer.<br /><br />&ldquo;Wasn&rsquo;t this his day he planned?&rdquo;, Mary asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;He got sick and his doctor made a house call, and gave him some sedatives to sleep on to get better.&rdquo;, Rachel explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;Nice save.&rdquo;, Rachel R. says to herself.<br /><br />&ldquo;I heard that.&rdquo;, Grace whispers to her.<br /><br />&ldquo;Will he be coming here tomorrow too?&rdquo;, Mary tries to push the point.<br /><br />&ldquo;No. He already had his examination as did I but they did not have the shots for me then so I have to take them tomorrow.&rdquo;, Rachel explains.<br /><br />&ldquo;But..&rdquo;, Mary tries to interject.<br /><br />&ldquo;Look, we got many hours for the rest of the day to enjoy without Fernando.&rdquo;, Rachel interrupts her, though others were going to say the same thing though not the same words.<br /><br />Mary just sighs then notices an airport bus rolling down the street, stopping at the intersection. The other girls also notice but make no reaction to its presence. After a while it drives across the intersection and makes its way to stop at the bus stop. Once it stops, it does not open its door for more than a couple of minutes. This annoyed Mary the most, though it was hinted to her to calm down and be patient.<br /><br />Rachel enters first when the doors open. She asks, &ldquo;Do you go to the beach?&rdquo;<br /><br />The bus driver looks at her, &ldquo; This bus goes to the airport. To go to the beach you need to walk from there.&rdquo;<br /><br />&ldquo;But the other bus driver said if we ask, you would take us there.&rdquo;, Mary says from behind.<br /><br />&ldquo;Which driver said that?&rdquo;, the bus driver asks.<br /><br />&ldquo;We don&rsquo;t know his name.&rdquo;, Juanita answers.<br /><br />&ldquo;It&rsquo;s the bus from that street over there.&rdquo;, Tonya says as she points to the street.<br /><br />&ldquo;Look, I usually don&rsquo;t take passengers to the beach from the airport.&rdquo;, the bus driver says. They all gave him the &lsquo;sad puppy dog&rsquo; eyes all at once. &ldquo;Alright. But I want a quiet bus when we leave the airport.&rdquo;, he adds.<br /><br />They all wanted to celebrate but hold back on it until they get there, thus they climb into the bus quietly. The girls get off saying thanks to the driver.<br /><br />They walk over to the beach house which holds a concession stand and beach store selling anything from bathing suits and towels to inflatable floating toys and carry-alls for food and clothing. They look over the store and the concession stand, with Grace and Juanita buying a few things: bags of potato chips, soda and sunscreen. No one notices how empty the beach was, perhaps ten other people on the five miles stretch of sand as the eye can see.<br /><br />End of Chapter 47</span>",
